Tyler, the Creator and Converse Team for GLF 2.0 in All-White Colorway

This Fall, Converse and Tyler, The Creator’s GLF 2.0 make a comeback with a clean, all-white rendition of the latest model from the partnership.

The GLF 2.0 completes the Converse x GOLF le FLEUR* collaboration’s five-year journey, which first debuted in June. The silhouette, which evolved from the original all-suede GLF design, combines a vintage court appearance with modern design. The shoe’s all-white coloring replaces canvas with leather for a more upscale appearance.

As an homage to the Gianno, the scalloping and fluid lines that have come to characterize Converse x GOLF le FLEUR collaborations are on display. A bright outsole recalls Tyler, The Creator’s previous releases, and retro allusions, including a remixed Converse brand license plate, add a nostalgic touch. The silhouette takes its shape from the Pro Leather, giving an homage to the skate aesthetic that has helped define much of this partnership’s history.

The GOLF le FLEUR colors are still present in the GLF 2.0, but the floral motif from the first version has been replaced with triple-white color blocking. Finally, a lightweight CX liner and cup sole design provide an all-day level of comfort.

On September 27, a constrained global release of the white GLF 2.0 will be offered at Converse.com and GOLF le FLEUR.

Kanye Says That New YZY SHDZ And Other Clothing Will Retail For $20, “We’re Working On Making Clothing Free”

Kanye West Says He Doesn't Read Books, Says It's Just Like Eating Brussell Sprouts

Kanye is currently on a plan to change the fashion world as we know it.

Ye was recently interviewed by Forbes following his split from GAP and eventual split from Adidas. In the interview, he said that the upcoming YZY SHDS sunglasses will only retail for $20 and shared plans of eventually making clothing free.

“When it’s sold in America, it’ll be made in America, and when it’s sold in China, it’ll be manufactured in China,” Ye said. “So the glasses will cost $20, and everything in the Ye Supply store will be $20. And, we’re working on how to make clothing free. Because life is free.”

The YZY SHDS made their first appearance when Kanye wore them during his guest appearance during Lil Durk’s Rolling Loud Miami set. Since then they have been a part of an extensive celebrity marketing campaign featuring different influencers and artists. The glasses were originally a part of his collection with Yeezy Gap, however, now that his deal with them is over, he will release them on his own.

Last night, Kanye had shared a post on IG of a summary of restrictions in his Gap and Adidas deals. Even after leaving, Ye was restricted from using any designs and even his own name or “Yeezy” moniker outside of his Gap and Adidas deals.

Ye said in a interview with CNBC that he wants the glasses and other clothing of his to be sold at a $20, noting that the price points were one of the big reasons why he decided to terminate his decade long deal with Gap after only 2 years.

Kanye West Announces Potential Yeezy Season 9 Paris Fashion Show

Kanye West Asks “Can I get uhhhhhhhhh.....” in McDonald's Super Bowl Spot

Whenever Kanye West is actively using social media, it is recommended that followers are tapped in. Over the last month, the billionaire music and fashion mogul has used his Instagram to bring awareness and express his grievances regarding his partnerships with both Adidas and Gap.

Last week he took another step in ending the relationship with Gap after sending a termination letter to the company.

On Sunday he took to his Instagram to post a summary of restrictions draft that was sent to him in response to his termination letter. The restrictions read:

“Neither Yeezy nor Ye may use, wear, sponsor, promote market, advertise, encore, design, manufacture, license sell, or provide consulting services with respect to any of the following products under the Yeezy Trademarks or Ye’s likeness or any other identifiable attribute, feature or indica of Ye.”

“Welp I guess the war’s not over,” said Ye under the post.

He later posted Gap’s list of Board of Directors twice. In the first post, he made followers aware of the lack of support he has gotten for his upcoming fashion show.

“Magically No production companies have been willing to produce my YZYSZN9 fashion show in Paris on October 3rd,” said Ye.

In the second post, he criticized Gap’s Chairman of the Board and Interim CEO, Bobby Martin, for what Ye insinuated hypocrisy.

“Funny that Bob Martin called me and said we are amicably ending our deal But I can’t do a fashion show but they can keep selling my product hmmmmm,” said Ye.

A number of reasons led to the termination of the Yeezy Gap partnership including not opening retail stores. The company was required to open five stores by July 2023.

We’ll continue to monitor Ye’s relationship with both Gap and Adidas.

Ye also recently joined TikTok as well. In his debut to the popular platform, he posted a video listening to his Grammy Award winning Jesus Is King album.

GAP CEO Confirms That Yeezy GAP Partnership Has Ended

kanye BET awards

Earlier today, it was reported that Kanye’s lawyers had sent a notice of termination letter to GAP executives, effectively ending the partnership between Ye and the clothing giant. Now, executives at GAP have responded to the notice, agreeing to end their partnership with Kanye.

GAP President Mark Breitbard reportedly wrote, “While we share a vision of bringing high-quality, trend-forward, utilitarian design to all people through unique omni experiences with Yeezy Gap, how we work together to deliver this vision is not aligned. And we are deciding to wind down the partnership.”

Kanye had interviewed with CNBC earlier today after it was reported that GAP’s stock was declining after the announcement of the split.

“It was always a dream of mine to be at the GAP and to bring the best product possible to the masses, and I always talked to them about doing products for $20, that are designed at the same level of the top fashion houses of the world,” Kanye said when asked why he’s leaving GAP. Ye went on to say how GAP set price points way above what he wanted them to be, copied his designs, did not release any clothing from the partnership in stores, and did not open up Yeezy GAP retail stores.

This is a developing story.
