DL Hughley Thinks “R. Kelly Would Get Warmer Condolences” Than Kevin Samuels Has Gotten
The death of Kevin Samuels has caused plenty of reactions to come pouring in across social media today, and while some are condemning the late image consultant for his more controversial content and opinions, others, such as DL Hughley, think it’s sad to see him getting so much hate.
On Friday afternoon, Hughley tweeted, “It’s sad that #RKelly would get warmer condolences than #KevinSamuels is getting! RIP #TeamDl.”

If you’re not familiar, Samuels was known for using his online presence to heavily critique people – notably Black women – which is why some have been unphased by word of his passing. “You can’t shit on folks then want them to miss you when you’re gone,” one user responded to Hughley’s tweet. “Cosby learned that hard lesson.”
Someone in agreeance with the California native wrote, “A lot of people (women to be more particular) were triggered by [Samuels’] truth and his strong stance on his topics, that’s why they didn’t like him as much.”
“Truth? What truth? He found a way to blame women for pretty much everything,” someone else argued. “Dismissed women over 35 as being unwanted. Come on. What did he say that was the truth?”
Elsewhere in the news, last month DL Hughley made headlines with his commentary on “The Slap” at the Academy Awards and how it will have a long-lasting impact on Chris Rock’s career – read more about that here, and tap back in with HNHH later for more pop culture news updates.
RIP Kevin Samuels.
Nicki Minaj’s Father’s Killer Pleads Guilty To 2 Charges, Will Face Jail Time
Robert Maraj’s family is nearing justice. Over a year after the death of Nicki Minaj’s father, his killer – a man named Charles Polevich – has entered a plea, as per TMZ.
The 71-year-old has pleaded guilty to one count of leaving the scene of an incident without reporting, and one count of tampering with physical evidence, both of which are felonies.

It’s been noted that Polevich was facing up to seven years behind bars, but Judge Howard Sturim has committed to sentencing the man to “no more than one year in jail, along with community service and suspension of his driver’s license.”
As Page Six reports, prosecutors have alleged that the driver struck Maraj as he was crossing a street in Mineola on February 12th, 2021. Polevich is said to have gotten out of his vehicle to ask the victim if he was okay before fleeing the scene without offering any aid or alerting the authorities.
Minaj’s mother, Carol Maraj, sued Polevich for $150 million in the state Supreme Court in Nassau County in March of last year. At the time, attorneys Ben Crump and Paul Napoli said, “[Polevich] was not only irresponsible and negligent but more concerned about running away and hiding than seeking help.”
“Polevich’s behaviour was criminal, cowardly, and immoral. We will hold him responsible for his reckless actions that led to Robert Maraj’s death!” The “Super Bass” hitmaker has also called her father’s death, “the more devastating loss of [her] life.”
Charles Polevich is due back in court for sentencing on August 3rd. RIP Robert Maraj.
DJ Drama Addresses Drake Beef Rumours: “We Gotta Stop This Narrative”
DJ Drama isn’t letting his age-old beef with Drake ruin Jack Harlow’s moment in the spotlight. As you may have heard, the Generation Now signee dropped off Come Home the Kids Miss You at midnight, boasting features from Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake, Lil Wayne, and Drake – whose name some were surprised to see on the list due to the Canadian’s past issues with Drama.
As HipHopDX notes, the beef dates back to 2015, when rumours began swirling that it was the Gangsta Grillz creative who told Meek Mill that Drizzy didn’t pen his own verse on their joint track “R.I.C.O.”
Things only grew more heated between the Philly native and Champagne Papi, which eventually lead to the inception of “Back to Back,” and some suspect that Drake took aim at Drama on 2016’s “For Free.” During a Drink Champs interview, the 44-year-old confirmed to N.O.R.E. that the “God’s Plan” rapper once retaliated against him by sleeping with his girl.
On Twitter, DJ Drama saw discourse from people who were surprised that he allowed his artist to work with Drake, which he didn’t hesitate to address. “We gotta stop this narrative lol,” he wrote early this morning.
“Me and Drake been put that to rest. Grown men shit, and beyond that Jack and Drake cultivated they own relationship. Now [everybody] go stream that ‘Churchill Downs’!!” he concluded, promoting Harlow’s collab track with the father of one.
While DJ Drama and the 6ix God have patched up their issues, one of his other past beefs – Pusha T – has made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t see any benefit to working with Drake even though they’re over their past issues; read more about that here, and let us know what you think about Jack Harlow’s Come Home the Kids Miss You album below.

Dirk Nowitzki Shares Heartbreaking Admission About Playing Career
Dirk Nowitzki is the biggest legend in the history of the Dallas Mavericks. He was able to win a title for the team back in 2011, and since that time, he has been heralded as one of the best big men of all time. He was an incredible shooter and scorer, and there is no doubt that he is a player who is highly respected by all of his peers and even his opponents.
The NBA superstar retired a couple of years ago, however, he has been dealing with a lot of pain in his joints. Nowtizki has been adamant about these ailments and while speaking to Alex Kennedy, Nowitzki revealed that he actually regrets not retiring sooner. This is because he feels like he can’t be the best dad to his children.

“I keep thinking whether the last two years in the NBA were really worth it,” Nowitzki said. “If I had quit two years earlier, I could probably move better today and play soccer with the kids sometimes. I can’t do that at all now.”
Professional sports can be very difficult on an athletes body, especially when they are as tall as Nowitzki is. Hopefully, however, he is able to get some care as it would be a shame if he lived the rest of his life in such pain.
