Young Thug’s Lawyer Demands the Rapper’s Release, Cites Poor Jail Conditions

defense young thug arrest

Young Thug’s lawyer is demanding the release of his client as he is experiencing conditions that are compared to a dungeon.

According to TMZ, attorney Brian Steel stated Thugger is being held in complete isolation in a room that only has a bed and a toilet. The room also has an overhead light that is on all day. Steel also notes Thug has not been able to exercise, shave, or have any contact with a human. The food is also described as inedible. Steel has cited the 8th and 14th Amendments as violations of his client’s rights.

Last week, Meek Mill offered support to Young Thug on Instagram.

“Thug put on many families I seen with my own eyes… stand up for them in these times not the lit ones! Labels, women, n****s… I pray that DA be fair to them knowing what we out here tryna survive. Thug and Gunna ain’t no crime bosses, they successful rappers with influence that didn’t leave their environment behind… If you bring your environment with you it’s basically RICO. Watch yourself out here.

The people I did the most for tryna take me out ‘but can’t’ or tryna manipulate the world. I’m a bad person because they ain’t hold up the ‘loyalty’ part.”

Gunna Visited Family and Planned Business Moves Before Turning Himself in for RICO Charges

Gunna Responds to Snitching Rumors: 'I Ain't Never Stop a Crime'

Before turning himself in to law enforcement due to the RICO indictment of YSL Records, Gunna reportedly made sure to take care of his family and business. TMZ reports Gunna went and saw his relatives, specifically his mother, before turning himself in.

Gunna reportedly made sure that the continued releases associated with his DS4ever album continued on the business end. The next release is believed to be a video for the single “Banking On Me.”

Gunna was indicted last Wednesday. Following the indictment, his lawyers have claimed his innocence and pointed out how police are using his lyrics against him.

Early Wednesday morning, Gunna surrendered to Fulton County officials. Gunna is accused of plotting to break the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. The “Pushin P” rapper was among at least 28 individuals, including Young Thug, charged with RICO this week by the Fulton County District Attorney.

Gunna’s counsel pushed for a bond to be set during his virtual court appearance on Wednesday, but the magistrate judge said that decision would be left to the superior court judge. The judge told the court, “I don’t have the authority to do it.”

Gunna, real name Sergio Kitchens, is accused of being a member of the Young Slime Life gang, which the D.A. claims are responsible for 80% of the city’s violent crime.

Ultimately, the bond was denied for both rappers.

Lucky Daye Teams with Mark Ronson for “Too Much” in Partnership with Audemars Piguet

In conjunction with Swiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturer Audemars Piguet, Lucky Daye announces his collaboration with Mark Ronson on his new track "Too Much."

In conjunction with Swiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturer Audemars Piguet, Lucky Daye announces his collaboration with Mark Ronson on his new track “Too Much.” Daye recently won a Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album for his EP Table for Two, which he released in 2022. The two artists’ cooperation culminates in “Too Much,” which is documented in Audemars Piguet’s miniseries Syncing Sounds, the last episode of which is currently available on YouTube and on the brand’s website and social media channels.

The three-episode series Syncing Sounds, which launched in 2019 as part of Audemars Piguet’s music program, takes viewers inside Mark Ronson’s collaborative process as he works with Lucky Daye on the composition and development of “Too Much” in his New York City recording studio. This miniseries is the first project in the brand’s long-running collaboration with the 7-time Grammy Award-winning artist and producer — a partnership that promises many more surprises in the future.

The two musicians played “Too Much” live for the first time in front of Audemars Piguet clients and friends at an exclusive event held at the brand’s newly opened AP House in New York City on May 12.

On the track, Mark Ronson says “The song is definitely disco, but also sort of sexy and elegant and soulful. It’s all the things that I am aspiring to every time I want to create something that’s going to make people move, but that if you’re sitting listening at home, you can still get into the song and the performance. Lucky’s vocal and melody does all the work there. It’s just a sexy, sexy disco record.”

Lucky Daye adds “In terms of the lyrics, I would say the theme is pretty much a party record, where you see someone who can’t really come out of their shell and you want to convince them to just have a good time. These days, it’s not that often where you can just go outside and have the time of your life.”

Young Thug’s Defense Refers to Him as “The Babe Ruth of the Music Industry”

Young Thug Rocks Controversial Gucci Sweater

The defense attorney for Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams argued multiple reasons why his client should be granted bail. A bond hearing was held on Wednesday for 7 additional felony charges surrounding conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.

Brian Steel, defense attorney argued that Young Thug has deep ties within the Atlanta community and would not pose a flight risk. Steel reminded the courts of his clients full cooperation to search his home and compliance as he was taken into custody on Monday.

He added that the “Ski” rapper has never been convicted of a felony and has notable worldwide popularity, calling him “the Babe Ruth of the musical industry.”

Fulton County Magistrate Court, Judge Robert Wolf said that he could only rule on bond in the case of the 7 new felony charges, as the initial indictment is under the review of Fulton County Superior Court.

Despite the strong plea from Thug’s defense, Judge Wolf sided with the state denying bond, while citing a possible flight risk. He added that Thugger would pose a risk of committing additional felonies if he were released.

Young Thug will remain in jail until further notice. Watch the full court hearing below.

Drake’s Grammy-award-winning producer Noah “40” Shebib releases a mini-documentary titled Toronto Rising. The 14-minute doc directed by Alim Sabir, is a collaborative partnership with Native Instruments and 40.

I’ve always considered myself a visitor in hip hop. When I was 21, I got diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I learned a lesson in the hospital, which was that as long as I had like one finger that still worked, no matter what the world took from me, I could play the keyboard and I could make music. All the things in my life just kind of pointed me in one direction. I’m here to play my part and to leave my impact.

Noah “40” Shebib

Toronto Rising serves as a backstory to the legacy 40 has built for himself . As well as inspire the next generation of producers who may be struggling to find their footing amid adversity. It’s also a love letter to Hip-Hop and the city which he and Drake played an integral role in putting on the map.
