Jamie Foxx Calls His Health Scare A “Near-Death Experience” In New Netflix Special

Jamie Foxx will make his grand statement on his health scare last year via his new Netflix comedy special What Had Happened Was, which premieres on the streaming platform next Tuesday (December 10). While it’s not out yet, some new quotes from it inform previous rumblings about its content, with him labeling his struggles as a “near-death experience” according to TMZ. The actor and singer recorded this show back in October, and some allegations sprouted forth about what he said during it. He allegedly made a joke about Diddy and even roped him into his hospitalization, something that Sean Combs’ team issued a statement on.

In an email Diddy’s team reportedly sent to AllHipHop, they called all this speculation around Jamie Foxx “outlandish, ridiculous and baseless.” In fact, they even alleged that Foxx’s team also denied that he ever spoke on the Bad Boy mogul in any serious way, which lines up with other reports that he allegedly just joked about the situation and didn’t make any other allegations. It’s all still pretty confusing, but on Tuesday, What Had Happened Was will show us what everyone’s really making this fuss about.

Elsewhere, Jamie Foxx received some due flowers amid his Netflix special’s rollout, particularly from Jennifer Lopez. “If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t have made it through that season,” she told Entertainment Weekly about her In Living Color costar. “That was when I first got to L.A…. I used to [go back to New York] every weekend ’cause I was so lonely — I hated it, I missed my family. Jamie and I, we became really good friends, and we’re still friends to this day, honestly. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t have got through that. I might have moved back to New York, and none of this would have ever happened. We would not be here right now.”

Overall, it’s been great to see Jamie Foxx reintegrate himself into the spotlight for both career-related and personal reasons. For example, he walked his daughter down the aisle at her wedding last September. Nevertheless, we’ll see if What Had Happened Was answers all of our burning questions.

TD Jakes Reveals He Underwent Emergency Surgery Following Health Scare

TD Jakes is still recovering from his medical emergency earlier this month, and addressed his church virtually to give them his first update on the matter. “I’m grateful for this season in my life,” he began. “I told you last Sunday that I’d see you this Sunday, and so here I am. I am grateful to God for his goodness and his grace. Many of you don’t realize that you’re looking at a miracle. I faced a life-threatening calamity, was rushed to the ICU unit, I had emergency surgery, survived the surgery. Yeah, I’m back. And the doctor wants me to go slow coming back.”

However, this comes after Bishop T.D. Jakes suggested that a Diddy accuser’s legal team is what provoked the stress that led to this emergency. “These accusations are patently false,” he claimed via a defamation lawsuit against fellow pastor Duane Youngblood, who accused Jakes of trying to sexually assault him when he was 18 or 19 years old. “Bishop Jakes never kissed or tried to kiss Youngblood, never cornered him or forced him into any situation (sexual or otherwise), and certainly never told him that he wanted to sleep with him or had any conversation of a sexual nature at all with him.

“The interactions described by Youngblood during his LRL interviews on October 28 and November 3 never happened — period,” T.D. Jakes alleged. “This lawsuit is intended to bring that scheme to a halt. To end the extreme emotional, physical, and spiritual toll Defendants’ conduct has caused Bishop Jakes, to set the record straight so the world understands the patent falsity of the accusations, and to restore Bishop Jakes’s reputation.”

Now that Bishop T.D. Jakes is in a more stable condition, it’s likely that he will return to his church soon enough and continue to connect with his congregation. However, we understand that it’s a very complicated situation and that we don’t know many important details about this, so we’ll see how this works out. In any case, we wish Jakes the best in his path to recovery and hope that he can carry out his mission and engage with his passion sooner rather than later.

TD Jakes Attributes Medical Emergency To Alleged Stress From Diddy Accusers’ Lawyer

Over the weekend (November 24), Bishop TD Jakes appeared to suffer a medical emergency onstage during a sermon. He’s now in stable condition, per a statement from the church. “During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message,” the statement read. “Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals. the entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community. Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers.”

Now, according to AllHipHop, he’s alleging that the incident was a result of stress caused by some accusations made against him by fellow pastor Duane Youngblood. Youngblood is being represented by Tyrone Blackburn, the same attorney representing Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones. Earlier this year, Lil Rod sued Diddy for alleged sex trafficking and more. On the Larry Reid Live podcast, Youngblood alleged that Jakes attempted to sexually abuse him when he was 18 or 19.

In a new update, he wrote to his fans: “6wks ago I underwent open heart surgery, to be upright and smiling today shows you that God aint nothing to play with… and again I say, I’m grateful, it could’ve went either way, yet I’m still alive…”

Tons of Scarface’s collaborators from over the years shared love in the comments section. “& we in this thread are appreciative for you being here still on this plane,” Questlove wrote, while Project Pat added: “praise God.” Plenty of other fans shared supportive messages as well. “Yes! The person running the account shared that she was in the ICU for a “life-threatening” health issue, which they later revealed to be a heart tumor. Unfortunately, some social media users were hesitant to believe the account’s claims. This is largely due to her death hoax last year, which was allegedly orchestrated by her father.

Now, however, it’s been revealed that she recently had open heart surgery. “We are overjoyed to share that Tay’s open-heart surgery was a great success! We are deeply thankful to her surgeon, cardiologist and the team who are the best in the world! The account went on to address the aforementioned death hoax, clarifying that Lil Tay and her mother were not behind it. Instead, they alleged that her father “was the person who hacked into her Instagram account and faked her death as a last attempt to ruin her reputation after losing the court battle over her career and custody.” They added that Lil Tay and her mother “have nothing to do” with her father at this point.

Last night, various posts on Lil Tay’s social media accounts left her supporters extremely concerned. “We have devastating news regarding Tay,” one Tweet read. This was followed by another claiming she was in the ICU in “serious condition.” At the time of writing, it remains unclear exactly what landed the personality in the hospital. Hopefully, she’ll be able to get the treatment she needs quickly and make a full recovery.

With that being said, not everybody thinks that the account is being truthful. Various X users are accusing her of faking this health emergency for publicity. One community note left on the announcement, for example, encouraged readers not to believe it. “Lil Tay rent due again,” it said. “Don’t fall for this.” Her account later responded to this, slamming whoever wrote the note for downplaying the dire situation.

“This community note is by a random kid, the note is extremely immoral and hateful,” they wrote. “Especially as Lil Tay is dealing with a life-threatening emergency. ‘Due again’ .. last time her abusive father faked her death.” The account was referencing a viral scandal that took place last year when Lil Tay’s Instagram account announced that she and her brother had passed away. This was later proven false, and Meta confirmed that her account had been hacked.

“During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation,” the announcement read. They shared the disappointing news in a statement on their Instagram Story, revealing that T-Boz had been diagnosed with a severe abdominal blockage. According to her, however, she would have preferred if the statement had been less detailed. In a clip shared on Instagram today, she addresses the various rumors that have been circulating since the announcement, making it clear that her condition has nothing to do with Ozempic or Sickle Cell.

In an Instagram Story posted yesterday, he revealed that he had suffered a seizure, which caused him to die briefly. Fortunately, he was later revived and now appears to be in the hands of medical staff at a hospital.

It remains unclear exactly what prompted the seizure, or if he has any pre-existing conditions. According to him, however, his relentless tour schedule could have something to do with the frightening incident. This isn’t the only time Nahmir sparked concern among his supporters in recent months, however.
