Scarface has revealed that he underwent open heart surgery six weeks ago, after cryptically alluding to a hospitalization on social media in August. In a new update, he wrote to his fans: “6wks ago I underwent open heart surgery, to be upright and smiling today shows you that God aint nothing to play with… and again I say, I’m grateful, it could’ve went either way, yet I’m still alive…”

Tons of Scarface’s collaborators from over the years shared love in the comments section. “& we in this thread are appreciative for you being here still on this plane,” Questlove wrote, while Project Pat added: “praise God.” Plenty of other fans shared supportive messages as well. “Yes! Glad to hear. May the good Lord continue to protect & keep you in his favor. AMEN!!!” one user wrote. Another added: “So blessed that you are up and about and feeling better! Very grateful for you and the blessings you bring to this plane simply by your existence. May you continue in abundant health and joy!”

The person running the account shared that she was in the ICU for a “life-threatening” health issue, which they later revealed to be a heart tumor. Unfortunately, some social media users were hesitant to believe the account’s claims. This is largely due to her death hoax last year, which was allegedly orchestrated by her father.

Now, however, it’s been revealed that she recently had open heart surgery. “We are overjoyed to share that Tay’s open-heart surgery was a great success! We are deeply thankful to her surgeon, cardiologist and the team who are the best in the world! Thank you for the love, prayers, and positive energy you have all sent her way,” they captioned a clip of Lil Tay lying in a hospital bed today. “Thank you for your continued support. We are off to a great start on the road to recovery.”

Lil Tay’s Team Delivers Update After Her Heart Surgery

The account went on to address the aforementioned death hoax, clarifying that Lil Tay and her mother were not behind it. Instead, they alleged that her father “was the person who hacked into her Instagram account and faked her death as a last attempt to ruin her reputation after losing the court battle over her career and custody.” They added that Lil Tay and her mother “have nothing to do” with her father at this point.

Last night, various posts on Lil Tay’s social media accounts left her supporters extremely concerned. “We have devastating news regarding Tay,” one Tweet read. This was followed by another claiming she was in the ICU in “serious condition.” At the time of writing, it remains unclear exactly what landed the personality in the hospital. Hopefully, she’ll be able to get the treatment she needs quickly and make a full recovery.

With that being said, not everybody thinks that the account is being truthful. Various X users are accusing her of faking this health emergency for publicity. One community note left on the announcement, for example, encouraged readers not to believe it. “Lil Tay rent due again,” it said. “Don’t fall for this.” Her account later responded to this, slamming whoever wrote the note for downplaying the dire situation.

“This community note is by a random kid, the note is extremely immoral and hateful,” they wrote. “Especially as Lil Tay is dealing with a life-threatening emergency. ‘Due again’ .. last time her abusive father faked her death.” The account was referencing a viral scandal that took place last year when Lil Tay’s Instagram account announced that she and her brother had passed away. This was later proven false, and Meta confirmed that her account had been hacked.

“During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation,” the announcement read. “I ate all this fried chicken, up all night drinking—that’s what I did,” he described, “I was a rapper, so I was up all night drinking and everything else, not taking care of my body… I thought I was Superman, I wasn’t taking my medicine, thinking I could keep going without eating right.”

Troy continued, “I was in the hospital that Saturday and I called my mom on the phone, just talking to her in general, and she had a stroke while I was on the phone with her. I had to call the ambulance and everything. They brought her to the same hospital I was at on the same floor.” He went on to stress the importance of a healthy lifestyle, sharing that he no longer smokes or drinks. Last weekend, TLC announced that they had to cancel a slew of upcoming shows due to T-Boz’s recent hospitalization. They shared the disappointing news in a statement on their Instagram Story, revealing that T-Boz had been diagnosed with a severe abdominal blockage. According to her, however, she would have preferred if the statement had been less detailed. In a clip shared on Instagram today, she addresses the various rumors that have been circulating since the announcement, making it clear that her condition has nothing to do with Ozempic or Sickle Cell.

“People have died from what I went through,” she said. “It had nothing to do with Sickle Cell… It had nothing to with constipation. No, I’m not on Ozempic. Everybody and every celeb ain’t on Ozempic. T-Boz went on to explain that scar tissue from a 24-year-old injury is what caused the blockage. In her caption, she shared that she’s looking forward to TLC’s rescheduled shows, and is doing well. “ONLY BECAUSE ITS OUT THERE… THANK U FOR ALL THE LOVE AND CONCERN I APPRECIATE YOU ALL!!! “Look, April 11 last year, bad headache, asked my boy for an Advil [and] I was gone for 20 days. I don’t remember anything. I’m in Atlanta, they told me—my sister and my daughter took me to the first doctor,” he explained. “The next doctor said, ‘There’s something going on up there…’ I won’t say it on camera… but it was.”

It’s unconfirmed whether or not his hectic schedule and alcohol consumption actually caused the seizure. This isn’t the only time Nahmir sparked concern among his supporters in recent months, however.

In April, a man came forward claiming to have snatched the 24-year-old’s chain while he was out in Compton, showing off the seemingly stolen piece online. Back in 2021, Dr. Dre woke up with “the worst pain” behind one of his ears, which he admits he initially brushed off. As his day went on, however, his son and a friend urged him to seek medical attention. Eventually, he went to the hospital, where he was told that his condition was “serious.” During a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s This Life of Mine with James Corden, the Grammy-winner reflected on the frightening experience of learning that he had suffered a brain aneurysm. He also revealed that during his hospitalization, he suffered three strokes.

“I got up and went about my day, and I thought I could lay down and take a nap,” he explained. “My son and a female friend were like ‘No, we need to take you to the hospital. Next thing you know, I’m blacking out, I’m in and out of consciousness and I end up in the ICU. I was there for two weeks. I’m hearing doctors come in, ‘You don’t know how lucky you are.’ I asked questions about what I could’ve done to prevent this.”

“Nobody could give me an answer,” Dr. Dre continued. “I had no idea that I had high blood pressure or anything like that because I’m on my health sh*t. Jamie Foxx had a pretty harrowing 2023. Early in the year, he suffered from an undisclosed health crisis while on set. The crisis was serious enough that he spent an extended stay in the hospital and required months of recovery. In discussions about the crisis once he recovered he described it in near-death terms. He even claimed that he once saw “the tunnel” during a particularly rough point in his health scare.

Over the weekend, he accepted an award from the African American Film Critics Association. During his speech for getting the Producer’s Award, he reminded everyone just how entertaining he can be. First, he promised to eventually tell his entire story and reveal what happened to him. He clarified that he was going to do it when he’s ready and do it his own way. In his speech, Jamie Foxx brings up a theory that was spread online after his health crisis. When he re-emerged there were some spreading wild rumors that he had somehow been cloned. Clearly, he finds those rumors pretty amusing as he cracks jokes about how ridiculous they sound. He finishes by joking that the clone rumors stopped once he was spotted dating a white woman, which got a raucous laugh from the crowd.

He expanded on that joke afterward, asking the crowd if he’s even “black enough” to receive the award he’s getting. Given that the award was given to him by the African American Film Critics Association that joke also goes over pretty well with the crowd.
