Westside Gunn Celebrates Halloween with New Project ’11’

As Halloween approaches, fans of Westside Gunn are in for a major treat. Gunn has just dropped his new album, 11, produced entirely by Denny Laflare. This project, free of guest features, highlights Gunn’s solo artistry and raw lyrical style, setting the stage for an even bigger release at midnight on November 1.

“11 is the most personal project I ever made, it’s dedicated to my brother who was killed in April, but narrated by my brother who has life in prison fighting to come home,” Gunn explains. “This is the reality for Westside Gunn”

The week’s excitement doesn’t stop with the music, as Gunn will shift to his other passion—professional wrestling. On November 2, Gunn’s 4th Rope wrestling promotion will take over Chicago with Heels Have Eyes 3, the third installment of his celebrated wrestling event series. Halle Bailey Dresses Like Halle Berry’s James Bond Character For Halloween

Yes, Halle Bailey’s name was inspired by Halle Berry. The former’s parents considered naming her “Hailey,” but decided to change it to “Halle” as a tribute to the Oscar-winning actress. Bailey has had an impressive career over her own in the last decade, as evidenced by her leading role in the Little Mermaid remake. Halle Bailey decided to pay tribute to her near-namesake, however, this Halloween. She dressed like Berry’s character from the James Bond film Die Another Day, and the internet was impressed.

Die Another Day may not be one of the most acclaimed 007 films. In fact, the tepid critical response to the film led producers to give the MI6 agent a gritty reboot with Daniel Craig a few years later. That said, Halle Berry’s presence, and her orange swim suit, remains one of the film’s best known images. Halle Bailey went all out with the recreation. She donned Berry’s short hair, orange bikini, and even the knife and holster that the character wears in the film. Bailey has a knack for recreating iconic film characters, as evidenced by her decision to dress like Janet Jackson from Poetic Justice in 2023.

Interestingly enough, Halle Bailey wasn’t the only musician who decided to cosplay as Berry. Coi Leray and Tyla decided to pay tribute to the iconic actress by dressing up as characters from different films. Leray dressed up like Berry’s Catwoman, and Tyla decided to take a left turn by dressing up like Berry’s character from The Flintstones Movie. All three celebs earned praise from their fans, but it was the Halle Berry co-sign that made the biggest impact. She wrote that Bailey, Leray and Tyla “crushed it” above a Pop Crave tweet rounding up the different costumes.

It was Halle Bailey, however, who received individualized praise for her costume. The singer posted pics of her in character, and Halle Berry was effusive in her praise. “Awe …my girl did that,” Berry wrote in the comment section. “What a huge compliment! Love you angel.” Halle Bailey was awe struck by the praise, and returned the love. “My queen approves,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “My life is made.”

The Halloween post came a day before Megan took legal action against Milagro Gramz over the YouTuber’s coverage of the criminal case in which Tory Lanez was convicted of shooting her. She accuses Milagro of being a “mouthpiece and puppet” for Lanez and “churning out falsehoods” about the case. Milagro addressed the lawsuit in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday. “I’ve been informed that I’m being sued by Alex Spiro on behalf of his client Megan Thee Stallion,” she wrote while sharing an excerpt of a notice she received. “Of course we’ll chat about it. They threw in the tape too.”

Chris Brown Allegedly Prevented A Brawl Between Diddy’s Sons & Ray J

Diddy’s sons, Christian, Quincy, and Justin, allegedly got into a heated exchange with Ray J outside of Tara Electra’s Unruly Agency Halloween bash in Los Angeles, over the weekend. According to TMZ, just as the two sides were ready to come to blows, Chris Brown allegedly stepped in to de-escalate the situation.

The outlet reports that Ray J was walking through the parking lot alongside Amber Rose and his manager, David Weintraub when the trio allegedly approached him. They allegedly voiced their frustration about Ray J’s public comments regarding their father in recent weeks, following his arrest in September on charges of alleged sex trafficking and racketeering. As tensions rose, Justin and Christian allegedly made it clear they wanted to fight over the situation. Brown allegedly saw the incident from his nearby car and rushed over the calm things down.

Christian, Quincy, and Justin have all been vocally supportive of their father throughout the allegations. Taking to Instagram, earlier this month, the family shared a statement defending Diddy. They wrote in the caption of a family photo: “The past month has devastated our family. Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories, and false narratives that have spiraled into absurdity on social media. We stand united, supporting you every step of the way, We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family. WE MISS YOU & LOVE YOU DAD.” They turned off comments on the post.

Spooky season is upon us, and Ice Spice had a great pick for her (first?) Halloween costume for 2024. She took to Instagram to share some snaps as Leeloo, Milla Jovovich’s character in the 1997 sci-fi flick The Fifth Element. The orange-haired humanoid is the perfect look for the Bronx femcee, flaunting her fitness journey’s results and boasting nice details like matching eyebrows and even Leeloo’s Multi Pass recreated in her image. We’re still a few days away from October 31, so maybe she has another costume in the tank that we’ll see in due time when celebrations pop off.

In fact, Ice Spice has done a lot of style shifts and new looks these days, so this transitioned pretty seamlessly into Halloween celebrations. For example, she recently debuted a new dark-haired look at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. Not everyone was a fan, but most people seemed to at least appreciate that the 24-year-old switched her style up and hasn’t stuck to the exact same image. As irrelevant or superficial as it may seem to some, it’s a tool that a lot of artists can use to visually represent their career moves, push their branding, and just look however they feel like looking. Another element is that this helps artists distinguish themselves from each other, and failing to do so could prove important in furthering any existing feuds. This was the case for Latto and Ice Spice, who have at least on one occasion drawn style comparisons amid their supposed beef. However, we wouldn’t really put too much stock into that supposed rivalry, as both lyricists seem quite publicly confused as to how and why this rift happened and why the other side is supposedly interested in it.

Such is the vague nature of hip-hop competition sometimes, and it’s a narrative that fans still hold on to. In any case, we’re sure that Ice Spice will continue to impress and dazzle with her style regardless of whether she’s in any rap beefs or not. Diddy has been making plenty of headlines in recent months for his ongoing legal battle. In September, the mogul was arrested in NYC and hit with charges related to alleged racketeering and sex trafficking. He’s currently behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn awaiting trial, which is expected to kick off in May.

It looks like the real Bad Boy founder won’t be celebrating Halloween this year. There will be plenty of lookalikes running around, however. According to TMZ, several vendors are selling Diddy-inspired costumes. The costumes include full Diddy face coverings, baby oil t-shirts, and more. For those who don’t recall, his indictment states that 1,000 bottles of baby oil were found on his property during a raid earlier this year.

Diddy’s case has resulted in countless jokes and memes, but his situation is incredibly serious. Reportedly, if convicted on every charge, he could face a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of life in prison. Just this week, he was also hit with four new lawsuits from men accusing him of alleged sexual assault. They’re being represented by Tony Buzbee, an attorney who reportedly plans to represent around 120 of Diddy’s alleged victims.

A woman also sued him earlier this week, alleging that he raped her at a Manhattan hotel in 2004, when she was only 19 years old. “When we talk about the ages of the victims when the conduct occurred, it’s shocking,” Buzbee alleged at a press conference earlier this month. “Our youngest victim at the time of the occurrence was nine years old. Their aren’t many producers like evilgiane right now, and there may never be. The Yonkers, New York native now based in Brookyln has been shifting the culture in the underground scene for several years now. His Surf Gang collective has become one of the hottest things in that area of hip-hop thanks to their innovative production choices and unique performers. In fact, their sound has become so popular that evilgiane has been able to work with some of the mainstream powerhouses such as Kendrick Lamar, Baby Keem, Maxo Kream, and more. But in staying true to his roots, he’s still experimenting with rising stars more often than not. Today, evilgiane is back with a new single “HALLOWEEN FREESTYLE,” which features Houston rapper Guapo.

As you can tell by the title of the track, it’s got a spooky season vibe going on right down to the ominous cover art. The beat is extremely chilling thanks to the twinkly and ghoulish synth patches. Additionally, Guapo’s cold and violent vocals and lyrics add some extra tension, upping the eeriness tenfold. The instrumental sounds like it was taken from an 80’s horror movie’s score. Evilgiane makes it sound dramatic, but he doesn’t go over the top with it one bit. “HALLOWEEN FREESTYLE” is the first time these two have worked together, and it follows a series of releases from giane. He just dropped off a collab tape with Harto Falion called .BloOdY-gEeKeR* at the end of September. Additionally, the veteran had some singles with SADPONY and sniper2004, as well as with Nourished by Time and Goner.
