Beyonce Opens Up On Dealing With Psoriasis

Beyonce discussed her battle with psoriasis during her new interview with Essence ahead of the release of her new hair care line, Cécred. In doing so, she reflected on her father applying various treatments to her scalp when she was a child.

“I have many beautiful memories attached to my hair,” Beyonce told the outlet. “The relationship we have with our hair is such a deeply personal journey. From spending my childhood in my mother’s salon to my father applying oil on my scalp to treat my psoriasis— these moments have been sacred to me. The conversations and debates in the salons and barbershops create a sense of community for the people who look to it as a retreat from their everyday lives. For them, it’s a place to feel beautiful and vent, laugh, share secrets and pass down wisdom. It’s the most consistent community gathering we have. It’s so important that it’s a sanctuary.”

She continued: “I think that connection of community, mother and child, father and child, and respect— and allowing yourself to be taken care of, especially for Black women, who are always taking care of everyone else—it’s all sacred. So I took the end of my name, Cé, and made it the beginning of the word sacred to create Cécred. From my mother’s salon, daily rituals with my father, and years of experience in developing a hair care line, the journey has been just that: Cécred.” The full interview with Essence will hit shelves on February 27th.

As for his return to London, he’s set to perform at the city’s O2 Arena on November 30. Tickets for the highly-anticipated show went on sale through LiveNation earlier this week. Celebrating the rapper finally getting his U.S. citizenship, Drake rapped on his new album, For All The Dogs. “Savage got a green card straight out of the consulate/ Where I go, you go, brother, we Yugoslavian.” Drake also brought out 21 in Toronto, earlier this month, to perform on the It’s All A Blur tour. The change in hairstyle comes after 21 and Drake decided to submit their 2022 collaborative album, Her Loss, for Grammy consideration. The move comes despite Drake’s repeated boycotting of the event. “I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after,” he wrote on Instagram in 2020. “It’s like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just can’t change their ways.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Drake and 21 Savage on HotNewHipHop.

Drake’s New Hairstyle Gets Him Roasted On Twitter

Drake was recently seen hanging out with fellow artist Talameshia, debuting a creative new hairstyle. The Canadian performer rocks some luscious curls, which he styled with several rainbow-colored hair clips. Talameshia shared a photo of the two of them together on her socials, captioning it, “Just some Houston lightskins with our curls poppin.”

The post has left social media users questioning Drake’s new look. Unfortunately, for the most part, fans aren’t feeling it. “This is only allowed because of his status,” one social media user writes. Another says, “it’s a NO for me dawg.” Though most users are full of jokes about his new ‘do, some of his fans are coming to his defense.

Drake Rocks Rainbow Hair Clips

“That’s my man and I’ma stick beside him,” one commenter writes. It’s clear that in many people’s eyes, Drake can do no wrong. It’s also safe to say that the Grammy-winning artist is unfazed by the criticism. Regardless, he continues to spark controversy for even the slightest things, recently prompting a major debate over his apparent mention of Megan Thee Stallion onstage. The performer was giving his friend in the audience a shoutout, and her name also happened to be Meg. Social media users called him out, claiming he was dissing the “Hot Girl Summer” songstress. Some even dug up their old beef, and things escalated from there. The clip was so controversial that eventually, the Meg Drake was actually referring to, MegYuup, chimed in. The photographer clapped back at a user claiming he was being messy. “Pls don’t start,” she wrote. “He was CLARIFYING for the slow ones in the back such as yourself.”

Megan Thee Stallion Debuts New Hairstyle In Sultry Photo Dump

Megan Thee Stallion’s been on somewhat of a social media tear recently, having fun on her pages and looking great while doing so. Moreover, in her newest Instagram post, the Traumanize artist shared a lot of steamy new pics of herself in a blue bikini and rocking a fresh new hairdo. Of course, she had to go blue to match her fit, and the vibrant shade goes all the way down her straightened hair and bangs. This would mark the second time in about a week that the Stallion showed off a new look, and last time, she was rocking the blue as well. Is this just impeccable color coordination, a new favorite tone, or is the next album going to be blue in some way?

Regardless, there’s been an understandable halt to new music news from Megan Thee Stallion given her legal trouble with Tory Lanez. Fortunately, it seems like she’s now moving past that as much as she can without haters and naysayers stepping in her way. Overall, she spoke many times about how the whole ordeal was quite the difficult and frustrating process for her. That trial is seeing more resolution in the courtroom ahead of Lanez’s sentencing date, so maybe now is the best time for the 28-year-old to enjoy her life and take a break from high-pressure career moves.

Megan Thee Stallion Boasts Blue New Look

Instead of jumping straight into a new single or album rollout, the Houston native has been showing off a lot on social media. For example, her TikTok account has been blowing up as of late, whether for her bikini dances or for her vlogs breaking down the exciting goings-on in her daily life. Still, it hasn’t stopped fans from begging for new music, which she expressed a will to focus on once she’s fully healed from her personal matters. The game sure does miss her right now, but it just means that whatever Megan Thee Stallion next will likely be that much more special.

Meanwhile, the “NDA” MC’s latest vlog featured her escapades during Paris Fashion Week. Specifically, she attended Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton show, went to the gym beforehand, and obviously stunned fans watching from beyond the screen while doing so. If lack of new music means that Megan is having fun and enjoying herself before hopping back in, then we’re happy to be patient. That being said, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Megan Thee Stallion.

Frank Ocean Fans React To Edited Pic Of His New Look

An edited photo of Frank Ocean with long hair surfaced online, earlier this week, prompting plenty of reactions on Twitter as well as a debate over whether the look is even real. The excitement began when a Frank Ocean fan account tweeted the picture, claiming that the singer shared it with his “close friends” on Instagram.

“This man only comes back when he need a reup on money .. then he disappears again for 4-5 year.. rinse & repeat,” one fan wrote in response to the picture. Another added: “Frank Lion boutta drop a Reggae album,” one fan wrote, playing on Snoop Dogg’s reggae alias Snoop Lion,” making reference to Snoop Dogg’s R&B alias Snoop Lion. Others immediately doubted whether the picture is real: “No way y’all actually believing this.”

The rumored new hairstyle for Ocean comes as fans anticipate new music from the elusive singer. On a poster shared with one of his recent merch drops, Ocean explained that for the last several years he’s been interested in releasing singles as opposed to albums. That stance has since changed. Presenting the case of a fictitious “recording artist,” Ocean wrote: “The Recording Artist attempts to explain to the major music label the singles distribution model as opposed to the long-form album model. The Recording Artist believes the latter to be outdated, and that releasing singles is more suited to modern consumption habits where people curate their own playlists which are then shared within private circles. The meeting does not appear to be productive.” Ocean concludes by suggesting he “has since changed his mind about the singles model.” He adds that he’s once “again interested in more durational bodies of work.”

In the nearly seven years since the release of Blonde, Ocean has only released singles. These include “DHL,” “In My Room,” “Dear April” and “Cayendo.” Check out fans’ reactions to his alleged new look below.

Ice Spice Debuts New Hairstyle, Says She’s “Pretty Like Lauren”

Ice Spice is perhaps best known for her signature ginger afro. However, the New York rapper’s high school yearbook photos prove she’s capable of pulling off more than just one look. In the images making rounds online, Isis Gaston smiles wide for the camera, rocking long, straight, black hair. Immediately after seeing the pictures, Twitter users began comparing the rap diva to You People actress Lauren London.

Interestingly, the Bronx baddie seemingly addressed the lookalike gossip before it even began making rounds. On her “In Ha Mood” single she raps, “Like, what? Let’s keep it a buck / Bitches too borin’, got ’em stuck in a rut / Lamborghini roarin’ when I hop out the truck / Pretty bitch like Lauryn with a big ass butt, yup.” Of course, there’s no last name drop in the line, but it’s safe to assume that Spice is self-aware enough to recognize her resemblance to the starlet.

On Friday (February 10) night, the Like..? artist surprised her 3.6M Instagram followers with a new series of selfies. While her hair is its usual ginger colour throughout the photo dump, she’s ditched her usually bouncy curls for a sleek, shoulder-length style complete with a slicked-down side bang. “Pretty like Lauren,” she wrote in the caption, referencing the internet’s ongoing conversation about her doppelganger.

As per usual, the upload finds Spice showing off her curvy figure. She sports a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier top, paired with army green khaki pants and crisp white sneakers. Just above the waistband of her bands, a tiny black thong peaks out. In the second image, the redhead gives a closer look at the view from the back as she gazes at the circular mirror hanging in front of her.

Other snapshots circulating online seem to show Spice in the same outfit filming an MTV show. Later that night, though, she sat with celebrity friends like Julia Fox and Richie Shazam at Dion Lee’s F/W 2023 RTW runway during New York Fashion Week. Seeing as the shows are just getting started, it’s entirely possible we could see more stellar looks from the rising star in the coming days.

Lil Uzi Vert, Beyoncé & Many More Amaze At Roc Nation Brunch

The Roc Nation Brunch on Saturday (February 4) hosted many of the most notable names in the music industry today. Moreover, some in attendance were of course Beyoncé and Jay-Z, but also Miguel, Lil Kim, and Tems. While everybody dressed to impress as they celebrated before the Grammys, people had their favorites online. In particular, a lot of people showed love to Reginae Carter. “Reginaeeee went to her secret weapon side of the closet lol she looks good,” one user commented. “Reginae ATE ERBODY UP!!!” another affirmed. However, one of the most eye-catching arrivals during the whole event was Lil Uzi Vert and their… peculiar hair.

Furthermore, the Philly artist rocked slicked-back hair, with small little wings coming out near their ears. People might be divided on the look, but they actually predicted such fashion on their Pharell collab from Luv Is Rage 2, “Neon Guts.” “Slick my hair back like I’m Chico DeBarge,” they rapped on the track. Still, despite their vision and clearly unique style, some people weren’t feeling it. Or, at least, they found it too peculiar to not crack a few jokes at. “Uzi got the Vampire In Brooklyn joint,” someone wrote on Twitter. “Lil Uzi hair got me crying real tears,” another added, while others made note of their crazy evolution. “This is NOT the same n***a that made LIR2,” a fan wrote.

“I always had a vision for my style,” they told GQ way back in 2018. “But before, I didn’t really get it. Even when I got money, my style wasn’t all the way there yet. But with traveling the world and seeing different stuff, I get it now.” While their comments certainly hold up, it’s insane to think how much their style has changed over the years.

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA- SEPTEMBER 03. The two-day music festival created by Hip-Hop Artist Jay-Z brings together many popular genres of music to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
Other cities have music events like Coachella or SXSW, but no music festival has the All-Star backing of a Hip-Hop icon or the musical talent like Made In America does. For a decade, the festival has brought many popular musical acts and up-and-coming artists or bands. This year is no exception. AL DIA gives you front row coverage of the music and its fans.

Meanwhile, other celebrity attendees at the Roc Nation Brunch included James Blake, Benny the Butcher, and many more. However, even with all the celebrities there, one Instagram user pointed out there seems to be something missing in the pictures… food. “I’ve never seen food at the Roc Nation brunch,” they wrote with a laughing emoji. “Where are the cheese grits?! Chicken and waffles…All I see is alcohol and outfits from Zenon Girl of the 21st Century and Uzi dressed like the Duke of No Hastings.” Still, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest on Roc Nation, the upcoming 2023 Grammys, and whether these stars get fed. Lil Uzi Vert Debuts New Hairstyle & Face Piercings

Lil Uzi Vert showcased a new hairstyle and face piercings on social media, earlier this week. In a picture of himself wearing what appears to be a Rolling Stones beanie, Uzi can be seen with straightened hair and four new jewels on his face.

The new look comes after Jewels Parlor Piercing Studio confirmed they hooked Uzi up with six new piercings, earlier this month.

“6 MORE dermals all at once? we did that! HUGE thx 2 uzi,” a licensed piercer named Kaia posted on Instagram.

This is far from Uzi’s first time getting his face pierced. He famously dropped $24 million on a pink diamond facial implant in 2021.

The new look for Uzi comes after his recent appearance at Drake’s Apollo Theater concerts over the weekend. Taking the stage with the Toronto rapper, Uzi performed his latest single, “Just Wanna Rock.”

As Uzi prepared to depart, Drake remarked: “I love this guy so much. Before you go, I just want to say 21 said some really nice shit last night, and I gotta echo the same sentiment about this guy.”

“Anytime in life I feel down or whatever it is, I always get a message from him checking in. Never asking for nothing, just checking,” he added.

Uzi also released a new song titled “I’m Not Human” with XXXTentacion in honor of the late rapper’s birthday on Monday.

Looking ahead, Uzi has also teased that he’s planning on dropping new music in February. However, he’s kept details on exactly what he’ll be releasing quiet.

Akon Clowned For His Hair Piece

So many people online are clowning Akon for his hair in a recent picture with Fat Joe and Ja Rule in Dubai. Moreover, the aforementioned MCs posted a pic of them together on Instagram, although Akon hasn’t posted anything yet. While they couldn’t comment on his account, people took to other corners of social media to joke about the singer’s hairstyle.

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND – NOVEMBER 13: Akon performs during Friday Jams Live at Western Springs Stadium on November 13, 2022 in Auckland, New Zealand. (Photo by Dave Simpson/WireImage)

Ja Rule captioned the pic with “Yesterdays Price… #ICONN #Vibes,” whereas Fat Joe wrote “DUBAI LEGENDS ONLY” and tagged his companions. Given that Akon recently criticized American performers, the link-up seems strange or, at the very least, random. Still, that’s not what people are saying about the post.

Moreover, one user tweeted: “Rule got a thin crust mustache, Akon’s toupee is bananas and Fat Joe’s beard looks spray painted. My legends are aging gracefully.”

Furthermore, Twitter is full of gems like these. So many people are comparing his hair to Lego pieces, glued hair, hats, beanies, and making a whole host of other jokes. While many cooked him up in quote retweets, some made remarks about his recent controversial statements.

“Seeing Akon’s hair makes all his dumb ass statements over the past few years make a lot more sense SMFH,” one user wrote. Moreover, he caught flack for suggesting that family events aren’t that important to attend when talking about Nick Cannon.

“Who gives a f**k about a recital?” Akon asked in an interview. “No, seriously. Listen, my job is to raise my kids, to be responsible, to be understanding, to protect their mother, to give a hand with their father, and to assist with family planning, and to be responsible adults.”

Furthermore, in the same conversation, he made the comments about Black American performers compared to African performers that caused outrage.

“[They’re] wobbling, pants hanging half down, bored as hell, half asleep ‘cause they high as hell on stage. But [in] Africa, we wake up in the morning. Look at these YouTube clips of all these kids from Uganda. Like these kids are performers. So for us, it comes natural.”

Still, what do you think of Akon’s crazy hair that has people in tears on Twitter right now? However you may feel, let us know in the comments and check out some more reactions down below. Also, as always, log back into HNHH for the latest viral moments and celebrity goofs.

Joyner Lucas Roasts Usher For “Cheeto” Hair

Joyner Lucas trolled Usher on social media in response to the iconic singer’s new haircut. Usher had shared a video of himself with orange hair on Instagram, Monday.

“My n***a lookin like a flaming hot Cheeto #legend,” Lucas wrote in response to the look.

Lucas wasn’t alone in making fun of the hairstyle. Another user wrote that Usher must be “going through a midlife crisis.”

In Usher’s original video, he used his viral “watch this” catchphrase to introduce the polarizing look. The remark went viral in 2022 after using it during his NPR Tiny Desk concert.

“I was blown away, I was shocked,” Usher told Twitter Music of the meme afterward. “I think I was in Los Angeles somewhere and they were like, ‘Yo, you know you going viral?’ I’m like, ‘It’s good, right?’”

He added: “Then I looked on and I saw a few people do it. Then I saw more people doing what I had done and it just kept going and kept going and I was like, ‘Wow, this is amazing. This is something special.’”

Outside of trolling Usher on social media, Lucas has been in the studio with Juelz Santana for his Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama. Santana teased the collaboration on Instagram, earlier this month.

“Santana and Joyner Lucas, I’m not even going to say no other names. OMG. We In Motion on the fucking way,” Santana said.

As for Usher, he hasn’t released a solo studio album since 2016’s Hard II Love. However, he did team up with Zaytoven in 2018 for A.

Check out Usher’s Instagram video that Joyner Lucas was responding to below.
