Akon Proclaims Prayers for Diddy and Says Truths Will Be Exposed This Year

Akon Claims he Passed on Signing Drake Because he Sounded Like Eminem

Akon has entered the Diddy chat. TMZ reported that the Konvict music star admits he is not in the know about the ins and outs—no pun intended—of the Diddy party scene. However, he hopes the truth will come out for everyone involved and that perhaps the industry will learn a few lessons. Well, everyone has their opinion.

Now, TMZ rapped with Akon at LAX, as they so artfully do with celebs, and the dish from Akon is he thinks all the salacious energy in the music industry does any good for the business side of the equation.

Akon went further with a broader lens, telling TMZ that this year, 2024, is about truth for the industry. He referenced Katt Williams dropping tea all over the place on that infamous “Club Shay Shay” interview where he went at Kevin Hart, Cedric The Entertainer, and more within the world of Black comedians.

The Locked Up rapper and mogul threw blessings on Diddy’s way and talked about his exec bag and looking for new artists. At the end of the day, he made his opinion known and kept it moving.

Suge Knight Accuses Akon Of Having Sexual Relations With a Minor, Akon Threatens With Defamation Lawsuit

Suge Knight, Akon

Suge Knight, the co-founder of Death Row Records, has made shocking allegations against popular singer Akon on his Collect Calls with Suge Knight podcast. Knight claims that Akon engaged in sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl.  Suge Knight Calls Out Akon On his Collect Calls with Suge Knight podcast, which aired on October 28, Suge […]

Akon Will Sue Suge Knight For Defamation Amid Assault Claims, He States

Suge Knight ruffled a lot of industry feathers on his Collect Calls podcast when he accused Akon of assaulting a 13-year-old girl. Moreover, according to the Death Row boss, his producer Detail also assaulted the alleged victim’s 12-year-old sister, and these are overall horrifying claims. The 50-year-old, however, denied all of these outright, and it now looks like this will be a much more contentious case moving forward. Furthermore, in a new statement to Complex, he revealed plans to sue the music executive for defamation. As of writing this article, he hasn’t responded to this lawsuit, although we’re sure that it won’t be the prettiest situation either way.

“I need to make it very clear that I absolutely deny these outrageous false and disgusting claims Suge Knight made on his podcast about me,” Akon shared. “I never called, received [a call], or had any contact with Suge Knight since he [went to prison]. My voice you heard on his podcast was a soundbite previously recorded from an interview I did with DJ Vlad 3 years ago regarding Suge Knight in 2009. I’ve never been a guest on Suge Knight’s podcast.

“I always believe in building positivity into the world and my actions and legacy have spoken to that,” Akon continued. “It’s unfortunate that I have to defend myself from these lies and I will be involving my legal team in filing a defamation lawsuit against Mr. Knight, my prayers for him will still continue.” Previously, this is what the Senegalese-American artist had to say about these allegations on Twitter. “The world knows a lie when they hear it,” he shared. “It’s unfortunate that this man is going out like this. It’s sad and seriously embarrassing. Regardless of our history, I’m still going to be praying for him.”

Meanwhile, these accusations unfortunately don’t have the best context. After all, the “Smack That” hitmaker recently flexed about having multiple wives, and involved himself in his fair share of other controversies. The same is true for Suge, of course, but with this new legal parameter, we’ll see whether this results in accountability and justice for the alleged victims. For more news and the latest updates on Akon and Suge Knight, log back into HNHH.

Akon Wore Fake Dior On “Drink Champs” Interview For Clicks, He Admits

Akon’s known to sometimes twist the truth for the sake of more engagement online, down to the details of his fit. Moreover, a lot of people noticed his fake Dior “Drio” jacket for his interview on N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN’s Drink Champs. While this isn’t an outright lie, it did prompt people to question whether this was a legitimate choice or if he just never noticed that the letters were flipped. Regardless, we now know, at least according to the Senegal-raised artist, this was all part of the plan to garner more interest in his interview. When speaking to French Montana, he answered his question about the jacket in earnest (hopefully).

“I knew I knew that s**t was going to raise engagement,” Akon responded to French Montana’s style inquiries. Furthermore, the 50-year-old singer said that he got the jacket from “one of [his] Africans.” “It just takes for one person to notice, and it’s gone’ go cr*zy on the internet,” he continued. “It sure did exactly what we wanted it to.” It’s ironic because, in a previous instance, Akon gifted French a fake watch that he got scammed for.

French Montana Presses Akon Over “Drio” Jacket

During that Drink Champs interview, the hitmaker also joked about how he would lie about being an African prince. “I used the excuse that I was a survivor, because it made me feel better about it,” Akon confessed. “But there was nothing for me to survive. Because my parents was actually really wealthy. I was living in New Jersey. We lived in a three-story house, just me and my older brother. So when I think about it, we were just bored as hell.

“I think a lot of my choices came from wanting to be accepted, you know?” he continued. “So that’s how I got caught into all the things that I got caught into, including cars. Because cars made me feel special. I was young, I could drive with the most elite vehicles, and I ran with the scenario that I was an African prince. After Coming to America, I was like, ‘S***iiit!’ That’s what motivated it!” For more news and the latest updates on Akon, keep checking in with HNHH.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s Greatest Hits

Emerging with deft artistry in the mid-1990s, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony made their presence felt as they heralded a new rap era. The five friends based out of Cleveland, Ohio, created an indelible impression on fans with their harmonious singing and compelling street stories through their personalities. Consequently, after drawing the attention of Eazy-E, the group signed to Ruthless Records in 1993 and released the EP Creepin’ On Ah Come-up, sparking the greatest Bone Thugs-n-Harmony hits.

However, tragedy struck when Eazy passed away in 1995, yet their music continued to thrive, dominating multiple charts and even earning them a Grammy for Classic E. 1999 Eternal. Not only that, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony changed the expectations for rap stardom in the Midwest and revolutionized the genre for years to come. To this day, Bone Thug’s legacy is remembered in hip-hop culture, confirming their place as one of the most influential acts of the 1990s.

7. “Notorious Thugs” (1997)

Boasting five hours in the studio together, Layzie Bone and Notorious B.I.G delivered the hotly anticipated “Notorious Thugs,” a track featured on the late rapper’s second studio album Life After Death. The song infamously referenced the lingering animosity between Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. and aimed at Three Six Mafia, Do or Die, and Twista via hard-hitting verses from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. In addition to its bold demonstration of Notorious B.I.G.’s mastery of the melodic chopper flow made famous by the Cleveland group, “Notorious Thugs” also highlights the iconic star’s desire to be recognized globally.

6. “Days of Our Livez” (1998)

Bone Thugs-n-Harmony’s 1998 single “Days of Our Livez” was a remarkable success. Its soundscape, built on the foundations of “Tender Love” by Force MDs and “Making Love in the Rain” by Herb Alpert, evoked an emotive response from fans and critics alike, with its soulful, reflective aura resembling that of the group’s crossover hit “Tha Crossroads.” The track reached admirable heights on the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B/Hip Hop Singles and Tracks charts, and No. 37 on the UK Singles Chart. Furthermore, it garnered Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. Undeniably, “Days of Our Livez” is an understated classic and one of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony’s most iconic hits.

5. “1st of Tha Month” (1995)

The 1995 Bone Thugs-N-Harmony classic “1st of Tha Month” reached No. 14 on the US Billboard Hot 100, garnering their first Top 20 status. For this reason, nominated for a Grammy Award and certified gold by the RIAA, this upbeat track celebrates the arrival of welfare checks in the hood on the first day of each month. All things considered, friends and family come together to revel in their collective good fortune and enjoy a momentary respite from life’s struggles. It’s an uplifting song that serves as a reminder of hope amidst challenging times.

4. “Foe Tha Love of $” (1995)

For the final time, Eazy-E graced a music video with his presence in the song “Foe Tha Love of $” by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. This hustler’s anthem captures all facets of the moneymaking game. Subsequently, it also touches upon its consequences with graphic realism. Its success was widespread, reaching No. 4 on Hot Rap Songs and number 39 on Billboard Hot 100. As an artist who embodied an untainted urban culture, Eazy-E set the tone for many artists to come.

3. “I Tried ft. Akon” (2007)

“I Tried” emerges as the uplifting lead single from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s 2007 album Strength & Loyalty. Emphatically featuring soulful vocals from Akon, this anthem brought the group’s story of resilience and commitment to the Billboard Hot 100. It debuted at No. 82 and peaked at a remarkable No. 6 – their highest charting song of the decade. “I Tried” remains an enduring favorite amongst fans, embodying the spirit of perseverance in times of struggle.

2. “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” (1994)

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s debut EP features their iconic single “Thuggish Ruggish Bone,” with special guest vocals from Cleveland artist Shatasha Williams. The song’s title alludes to their wild and rogue “thug” identities. Lyrically, the track is bold and fiery, showcasing Shatasha Williams’s powerful vocals. It saw recognition when included in the True Crime: Streets of L.A. soundtrack. Later Layzie Bone’s second verse was adapted on Mo Thugs Family first album, Family Scriptures. With authoritative energy, this timeless classic remains a landmark piece in hip-hop, displaying the group’s unbridled talent.

1. “The Crossroads” (1996)

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony hits broke genre boundaries 27 years ago, transforming their struggles into a resonating song that captivated many. Capturing the vision Eazy-E saw in them, the group crafted music that would go beyond their Cleveland, Ohio. The group’s signature anthem, “Crossroads,” was a tribute to the beloved Eazy-E following his passing. Crafted initially as “Crossroads” in honor of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony’s lost friend Wallace, the song skyrocketed in popularity upon its rerelease. It debuted at No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100. As a result, this iconic hit secured the top spot for eight weeks. The song earned a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by Duo or Group in 1997. It remains a poignant reminder of the legacy left behind by their beloved mentor.
