GloRilla’s Life Advice For Women In Their 20s Is ‘Toxic,’ But It’s Absolutely Necessary, She Believes

Rapper GloRilla is an open book regarding her social media profiles. Whether she’s laughing in embarrassment over old photos or talking back about her run-in with the law, the “Tomorrow 2” musician is quite transparent. Yesterday (August 21), GloRilla took to her Instagram Story to share some controversial life advice for women in their 20s.

In the video, shared by 2Cool2Blog, GloRilla opened by checking in with her women fans, saying, “Hey ladies, how are you?”

She then unloads her wisdom to the ladies, professing, “I just wanna let you know: be toxic for the rest of your 20s. You only get one life. Live your toxic 20s. You never get to be 20 years old, 21, 22, 23, 24, none of that ever again in your life. Be toxic because don’t get in your 30s thinking you can just go slashing tires and doing all this crazy sh*t. You’re too old for that now. You are too mature, be toxic for the rest of your 20s.”

Users online were torn on the declaration. “Crazy how someone in her position is saying this,” wrote one fan.

However, according to GloRilla, it is for the best that women make these irrational decisions earlier in life to learn to regulate their emotions for a point in life when the damage may not be as easy to repair.

GloRilla Tells Her Female Fans To Live It Up In Their 20s

GloRilla is back with some more life advice for her fans and women across the world. The Tennessee rapper back in November 2022, around the release of her EP, Anyway, Life’s Great, dropped some knowledge about money. On the song “Get That Money” she raps, “Don’t be scared to ask that n**** for some money, ask that n**** for some money… You better get that motherfuckin’ money (Oh, yeah).” Comedian DC Youngfly hilariously responded to those lyrics on Twitter.

“Fellas don’t be scared to ask for her tax money and her job check for the next 5 years!!!! TELL HER YOU WANT THAT S*** SOON AS IT CLEAR!!!She won’t hesitate to ask you for no Digaling.” Now, in 2023, GloRilla is offering some similar advice to the women in her age group. Recently, the 24-year-old hopped on her Instagram live that is now gone, telling all the ladies out there to live their best lives while they are still youthful.

GloRilla Shares Her “Wisdom”: Watch

The first 30 seconds in this video above details it all. GloRilla starts her spiel by saying, “Be toxic for the rest of your 20s. You only get one life. Live your Toxic 20s,” she says. “Don’t get in your 30s thinking you could just go slashing tires and doing all this crazy s***. You too old for that now, you too mature. Be toxic for the rest of your 20s.” It is advice that has become very prominent in the world today, especially from younger female celebrities. However, advice like this is a double-edge sword, what do you think?

What are your thoughts on GloRilla’s comments telling women to be toxic in their 20s? Do you think this is good advice for the younger generation? GloRilla Teased Her Upcoming Debut Album, And Said She Wants Another Song That’ll Have ‘All The Girls Screaming’

Over the past year, Memphis rapper, GloRilla has made an incredible breakthrough. With two back-to-back hits — “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” and “Tomorrow 2” — Glo has already shown herself to be a heavy hitter.

These songs would later appear on her debut EP, Anyways, Life’s Great…, which was released last November, and she would be announced as a Grammy nominee for Best New Artist and Best Rap Performance the following month. Now, GloRilla is gearing up for her full-length debut album.

Glo talked about the upcoming album in an interview with Good Morning America, as part of a series commemorating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. She didn’t give away too many details, but she promised we can expect more fun, women-empowering songs.

“I’m excited about it,” said Glo. “I plan on going number one. I gotta make another song that’s gonna have all the girls screaming — and another anthem.”

Additionally, Glo has other milestones to look forward to. Yesterday, MTV announced that Glo is nominated for Best New Artist, and Best Hip-Hop alongside Cardi B for their “Tomorrow 2” collaboration.

Elsewhere in the Good Morning America interview, Glo called Cardi’s verse on “Tomorrow 2” her “favorite feature of all time.”

Cardi B is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

GloRilla Updates Us On Her Sex Appeal While Belly Rolling To Beyonce’s “Beautiful Liar”: Watch

Aside from their beautiful voices, many of the biggest names in music are talked about for one other major thing – their bodies. Whether slamming Lizzo for loving her plus-sized self, Latto for considering a second round of surgery, or GloRilla for being “too skinny,” social media never struggles to find something to complain about. The “FNF” hitmaker has managed to stay positive and even crack jokes through the criticism she faces, however, Glo revealed this weekend that she’s taking the feedback she got after performing at the BET Awards seriously.

While the 23-year-old attempted to bring a new level of sexy to the show, some wish she would’ve stuck to her usual, hyped-up self. At the time, she joked about viewers wanting her to dance like Chief Keef, but behind closed doors she’s really been working on her belly rolls. “I wanna show y’all something,” Glo told the camera in the beginning of her video. “I love constructive criticism, and y’all told me to work on my sex appeal… Y’all told me I need to be more feminine, so I’m channelling my inner Beyonce,” she added before queuing up her music.

GloRilla Dances to Beyonce and Shakira’s “Beautiful Liar”

The rap diva’s sensual song of choice is Bey and Shakira’s “Beautiful Liar” from the former’s B’Day album. GloRilla’s confidence shines through as she wiggles her hips along to the beat. Unfortunately, not everyone is feeling this performance either. “Just be the hood ni**a [you] are,” one user suggested in @theshaderoom’s comments. “Girl Call Coi [Leray] for skinny girl assistance,” another told the CMG artist.

Aside from taking her constructive criticism from the BET Awards seriously, GloRilla has also been showing off her lyrical skills. After seeing the success of Latto’s “Put It On Da Floor,” the Memphis native joined a handful of other female rappers who shared their own versions or the hit single. Check out her “GloMix” at the link below, and tap back in later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Yung Miami Agrees With GloRilla’s Take On Women In Rap

Women in rap music have to face many obstacles that their male peers don’t. Recent controversies for artists like Sexyy Red and Ice Spice proved that female rappers have their every move analyzed. In a tweet made yesterday, GloRilla stood up for her female rap contemporaries. “Y’all hate on every hood b*tch dat make it out & its sickkkkk 👎🏼,” the “F.N.F (Let’s Go)” rapper tweeted. She found an ally for her comments in City Girls rapper Yung Miami. Miami quote tweeted GloRilla and responded with “VERY .”

Yung Miami went even further in a follow-up tweet. “Y’all HATE to see black girls living the life they deserve 🫠 make it make sense,” she said about an hour later. While it’s unclear what specifically sparked GloRilla’s original tweets they could be in reference to any number of controversies. Yung Miami could very well be referencing herself. Last month she responded to haters who claimed she can’t even rap. Miami, who has famously only been rapping for a few years, clapped back at the haters claiming she didn’t even need to rap to put them in their place.

Yung Miami Backs GloRilla Tweet

Yung Miami hasn’t had a quiet year musically either. Back in May, City Girls dropped their new single “Act Bad.” The track also featured Diddy and Fabolous and set itself up as an anthem for the “Act Bad Summer.” The pair followed it up with two more singles called “I Need A Thug,” and “Pinata.”

Yung Miami also teased fans with a potential remix of one of the biggest hits of the year from a female rapper. Latto and Cardi B teamed up for “Put It On Da Floor Again” which became a top 20 hit on the Hot 100. Following the song’s release Miami took to Instagram to post her own verse over its instrumental. While it hasn’t been officially released in any capacity fans have been spreading it online for weeks. What do you think of Yung Miami and GloRilla’s perspectives on women making it in rap? Let us know in the comment section below.

The “Internet Trolls” rapper’s deep vocal octave has been a topic of conversation across social media. however, according to GloRilla regardless of the naysayers post online it has worked out to her benefit.

“I know a lot of dudes, they won’t ride around listening to no girl that sounds like a girl because they are going to be like, ‘Oh, I’m being p*ssy. But they hear me, and now [they say], ‘She slick sound like one of us,’” said GloRilla.

Her voice isn’t the only thing that has peaked men’s interest in her catalog. The recording artist continued by adding that her cocky attitude is also attractive to them, saying, “I say sh*t that’s for females, but it’s stuff that n****s can say in reverse. I actually like going through shit sometimes because it makes me perfect my craft.”

GloRilla’s 2023 BET Awards Performance Of ‘Lick Or Sum’ Was An Assertion Of Her Sexual Liberation

Although GloRilla didn’t take home the 2023 BET Awards nominations for Best New Artist or Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, but she’s still blessed nonetheless. The “Nut Quick” rapper wasn’t discouraged by the losses. Instead, she showed that no matter what, she’s a winner in God’s eyes hence her middle name.

The rapper took to the 2023 BET Awards stage for a sexy performance of her track “Lick Or Sum” off her EP Anyways, Life’s Great. On the song, the Memphis native asserts her sexual liberation as she raps, “Lick on my clit, make this p*ssy cream / Do this motherfucker how you do the Russian Creams / Smokin’ on this pack, you know the p*ssy fat / Lookin’ like he fiendin’, got his nose all in my crack.”

Lounging on a plush set of lips as the camera pans to her from the stage, then ending on a cherry lollypop, the sex puns aren’t lost on the viewing audience. GloRilla has come a long way since she took home the award for Best Breakthrough Artist at BET’s Hip-Hop Awards.

As for the remaining nominations for the 2023 BET Awards at this point in the night, GloRilla is still in the running for Album Of The Year (Anyways, Life’s Great), Best Collaboration (“F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” with Hitkidd and “Tomorrow 2” with Cardi B), and Video Of The Year (“Tomorrow 2”).
