Flo Milli’s Milkshake Brings All The Boys In Her Steamy ‘Hot Box’ Video

Those darn Zoomers love hijacking millennial hits. The latest to give the prior generation’s musical faves a spin is Flo Milli, who samples Kelis’ 2003 hit “Milkshake” in her boastful, flirty new single, “Hot Box.” Going a step further, she also pays homage to the early-aughts classic with the accompanying music video, which sees Flo Milli as the driver/proprietor of an ice cream truck selling — what else? — delicious milkshakes with the help of a pair of seductive servers. Flo herself jumps out to show off her ‘fit, a super-short jean skirt and ultra low-cut camisole top, looking like she stepped out of a time machine from the 2000s.

“Milkshake” isn’t the only past hit she’s remixed lately. In July, she dropped a “FloMix” of Lil Wayne’s “A Milli,” joining a long list of rappers who’ve contributed their own vocal takes to Wayne’s smash. Earlier that month, she tackled Bay Area legend Too Short’s “Blow The Whistle.” (Incidentally, she’s the second artist to sample “Milkshake” in as many years — hopefully, Kelis won’t be as upset with her as she was with Beyoncé.)

More recently, she dropped a new single, “Fruit Loop,” ahead of announcing her third studio album, Fine Ho, Stay, which will presumably complete the trilogy of Ho, Why Is You Here? and You Still Here, Ho? Give that lady points for consistency. While “Hot Box” might not appear on Fine Ho, Stay, it’ll certainly help keep her on rap fans’ radars as she rolls out the completion of the hat trick.

That Chick Angel Recruits FendiDa Rappa, Flo Milli, And Sexyy Red To Keep The ‘One Margarita’ Party Going

If you follow Uproxx’s The Best New Hip-Hop This Week, you might have seen last week when I went on a mini-rant about That Chick Angel’s underrated summer song “One Margarita” being so overlooked. That may soon change; after releasing a remix with Saucy Santana last week, TCA follows up this week with a “Ladies Remix” version to keep the party going, recruiting FendiDa Rappa, Flo Milli, and her raunchy rap counterpart Sexyy Red, who has been on a roll lately after her own freaky hit “Pound Town” became a smash in its own right.

The new verses hit all the main points — mainly, that inebriation will, to quote Flo Milli, “turn them to hoes.” That Chick Angel even sneaks in some subtly impressive rhyme play, pairing “amorous” with “scandalous,” and preemptively cuts off all the smoke the song is sure to receive. “I know you hatin’ sayin’, ‘You a mom,’ but / Give me four margarita’s I’ma be my husband’s slut,” she wisecracks, shutting down critiques of the song’s freaky material. The coup de grace is at the end, when she admits, “I’m lyin’. Imma be sleep,” because anyone in a longterm relationship knows how that goes.

This single is seriously “song of the summer” material, but it also has staying power — it’s authentic and clever and relatable and all the other things that can make a song a fan favorite — and even if it doesn’t get its due before the leaves turn, I can see it being a fixture at resort clubs far into the future. Flo Milli Says ‘Fine Ho, Stay’ As She Announces Her Brilliantly-Titled New Album From Her Trilogy

Flo Milli has fans incredibly excited this week as she unveiled that her next album, Fine Ho, Stay, is on the way. Led by her colorful recent single, “Fruit Loop,” the track sets the tone for the presumed final installment of the rising star’s trilogy.

In 2020, she dropped Ho, Why Is You Here? and then followed it up with You Still Here, Ho? in 2022 — creating a hilarious bit along the way.

During some recent tweets, Flo Milli opened up a little bit about her intentions with the upcoming record, pointing out that “this project is personal.” She was also loving a lot of the support that her followers were having for the brilliant album title.

As one person wrote, “I LOVE HER CAREER AESTHETIC SO BAD!!” and many others in the replies shared a similar thought process.

While Fine Ho, Stay doesn’t have an official release date, there’s a high possibility that fans will be able to hear it in full by the end of the year. And that alone will be worth the wait — whether it’s in a month or a few.

Until then, check out “Fruit Loop” above. Below, find some more fan reactions to Flo Milli’s creatively-titled new album.

Flo Milli Announces Her Second Album ‘Fine Ho, Stay’ for This Summer

Flo Milli Announces Her Second Album 'Fine Ho, Stay' for This Summer

Flo Milli has announced her second studio album, Fine Ho, Stay, which is set to be released via RCA Records later this summer. To kick off the album’s anticipation, she has shared its first single and music video, titled “Fruit Loop,” produced by YoungFyre. The track embodies Flo Milli’s trademark confidence and premiered on Apple’s Daily New Music feature.

Fine Ho, Stay follows the success of Milli’s debut mixtape, Ho, why is you here? (2020), and her critically acclaimed debut album, You Still Here, Ho? (2022). The upcoming album stays true to her style, showcasing her mainstream stardom potential.

Earlier this year, Flo Milli made her impressive Coachella debut, dazzling the audience with a high-energy performance, and even collaborated with Monaleo for their hit single “We Not Humping.” The track has garnered over 50 million streams and views worldwide. With her new album on the horizon, it’s clear that Flo Milli is here to stay and make her mark in the music industry.

Flo Milli Is Sugar, Spice, And Everything Nice On Her New Single, ‘Fruit Loop’

Flo Milli has been on top of her game this past summer. Having dropped reimaginings of Too Short’s “Blow The Whistle” and Lil Wayne’s “A Milli,” Flo has shown us that she’s a master of various flows and cadences, as she switches up her stylings. But with her new single, “Fruit Loop,” she’s giving us more flavors of her own.

With “Fruit Loop,” Flo delivers rhymes that are both hard and humorous, as she rides a fast-paced beat with pure ease.

“Bubble gum, chew, chew / eat me like Fruit Loop / Everything I do make the boys go cuckoo,” she raps on the song’s catchy chorus.

As Flo is known to do, she makes it known that she runs the game, and won’t be easily swayed by men. On one of the song’s notable lines, she raps, “Stalkin’ my page, so I came to fruition / Poof! He left you, guess I’m a magician / I can’t let him go if I like how he please me / Bae hit the spot, make me sing like the Bee Gees / Tryna talk big but he got a lil’ pee pee.”

Additionally, the song filled with sugary references to sweet candies and iconic cereals.

Flo Milli’s Self-Titled Freestyle Paid Homage To Lil Wayne’s ‘A Milli’ Because He’s ‘Still The Greatest Rapper Alive’

Tributes to hip-hop’s 50th anniversary are far from over. Flo Milli is joining in on the flower giving on her new freestyle, “Flo Milli.” Simply put, the tribute is a lovefest on rap megastar Lil Wayne. From the signature deadlocks to the video’s original concept, Flo Milli aimed to honor the New Orleans native through his 2008 song, “A Milli.”

As Flo Milli borrowed the classic rap beat, she also takes some additional creative liberties by flipping several of the Young Money boss’ lyrics, including her stanza, “She’s a beast / She’s a dog / She’s a muthef*ckin’ problem / Claiming she want what but be running like a possum / You can’t stand ’em then you drop ’em / Hoes get messy imma mop ’em / hallucinogenic have ’em rolling when I rock ’em.”

The entertainer took to Instagram to share the record’s cover art in which she continued her praise of Lil Wayne, writing, “Lil Wayne is still the GREATEST RAPPER ALIVE,” in the caption. This sentiment is echoed amongst several other recording artists, including his protégés Nicki Minaj and Drake, to NLE Choppa.

Earlier in the month, Flo Milli also paid tribute to West Coast rap legend, Too Short with a remix of his song “Blow The Whistle” into “Flo The Whistle.”
