Fivio Foreign Just Wants A ‘Hello’ From The Love Interest In His New Video With Chloe And KayCyy

While drill rap is primarily known for its rugged tales of late-night shootouts and nods to New York’s apparently flourishing gang culture, occasionally it can be a little more down-to-earth. In Fivio Foreign’s video for “Hello,” from his debut album, B.I.B.L.E., he turns the drill sound downright romantic, requesting a little attention from a romantic interest alongside rising singers Chloe and KayCyy.

Naturally, each of the singers gets some screen time of their own as well, but the overall narrative remains fixed on FIvie and his pursuit of an attractive woman at a party. Meanwhile, Chloe’s verse traipses the line between deft rapping and mellifluous singing, and KayCyy ties things up with a bow at the end with a lilting, melodic rap.

B.I.B.L.E. debuted at No. 9 on the US Billboard 200 chart in April behind 29,000 album-equivalent units. Its release was fueled by lead single, “City of Gods,” which was produced by Kanye West and featured Alicia Keys, and peaked at No. 46 on the Hot 100. The album also included appearances from ASAP Rocky, Coi Leray, DJ Khaled, Lil Yachty, Lil Tjay, Polo G, Quavo, and more.

Hot 97 Summer Jam’s 2022 Lineup Is Led By Fivio Foreign, Lil Durk, And Lil Baby

Whatever city on the hip-hop map you call your own, there’s no escaping the impact of Hot 97’s Summer Jam in New York. It’s still one of the biggest single-day festivals in the culture, nearly always offering a who’s-who of the biggest stars in hip-hop. This year’s lineup is no different, highlighting the leading rap artists of 2022, as well as some of the genre’s fastest-rising up-and-comers.

The festival’s top line gets to include one of New York’s hometown favorites in the form of Fivio Foreign, with Chicago’s Lil Durk and Atlanta’s Lil Baby right behind. Young Thug and Gunna are apparently sharing a joint set, which makes sense considering how closely tied the duo’s output has been over the past two years between Punk, DS4EVER, and Slime Language 2 (we’re definitely getting both “Surf” and “Ski“).

Elsewhere on the lineup is a cross-section of styles and locales, from Miami’s City Girls to Virginia’s Pusha T to Compton’s Roddy Ricch. Even Nigerian favorite Burna Boy is there. Meanwhile, New York will remain well-represented thanks to Benny The Butcher (I know, I know, he’s from Buffalo, but still), DreamDoll, 22Gz, Lady London, Dougie B (hopefully, he makes bail by showtime), and The Girll Codee (worth giving a Google).

Summer Jam takes over Metlife Stadium on June 12. As always, get more information at the official website.

Nicki Minaj Drops Video For “We Go Up” With Fivio Foreign, But Threatens to Delay Her Album

Two of New York’s finest link up for one of the hottest joints in Hip-Hop. Queens native Nicki Minaj pulled up on Brooklyn’s own Fivio Foreign, and they both got it lit for the “We Go Up” video.

Nicki shows off her exclusive exotic car collection in the video before hopping on a private jet headed to Fivio. The two New Yorkers perform in front of a hot pink Lamborghini and lime green Ferrari. The two then link up for a block party with more custom exotic cars.

As excited as the Queen Barbie is with “We Go Up,” she’s not satisfied. Nicki took it to Twitter to urge the Barbs to engage themselves in the “We Go Up” video. If not, she’s stalling her album.

It’s uncertain when Minaj plans on dropping her album. She hasn’t released any detail on that subject just yet. What is certain is that if she doesn’t like the results from the video, she’s not dropping any time soon.

“We Go Up” is the third visual Nicki has dropped this year. Last month, in February, she dropped “Blick Blick” with Coi Leray and “Do We Have a Problem?” with Lil Baby.

As fans wait for the details on the album, enjoy “We Go Up,” directed by  Andre “DreVinci” Jones, below.

Antonio Brown Drops His New Album ‘Paradigm,’ Featuring Young Thug, Fivio Foreign And DaBaby

While Antonio Brown won’t be catching any passes from NFL quarterbacks anytime soon, the wide receiver-turned-rapper just dropped a new album. The guest list for Brown’s (who performs under the AB moniker) album, Paradigm, is loaded and features not one, but two guest appearances from Brooklyn drill heavyweight Fivio Foreign.

Also appearing on the album, which features a heavy drill rap sound, are Young Thug, Keyshia Cole, 42 Dugg, French Montana, YdTheBest, Shuki Internatonal, and even DaBaby. Believe it or not, Paradigm is AB’s second solo effort, along with 2020’s Himmothy. Brown was recently named the President of Kanye West’s Donda Sports division. AB and Kanye recently expressed interest in buying the Denver Broncos. The pair are also each slated to appear at the Rolling Loud Miami festival and now Brown will have a new album’s worth of songs to perform on stage.

Nicki Minaj And Fivio Foreign Assert Their Royalty In The Street-Rooted ‘We Go Up’ Video

The New York drill movement has been simmering for a few years, but lately, it appears ready to boil over thanks to some high-profile co-signs from two of the top women in rap. First, Nicki Minaj joined Brooklyn’s Fivio Foreign on her new song, “We Go Up,” following a pair of back-to-back releases alongside Lil Baby with “Do We Have A Problem?” and “Bussin.” Then, her erstwhile rival Cardi B followed up with an appearance on Bronx rapper Kay Flock’s “Shake It,” returning to her own street roots with a bandana-patterned crimson hairdo.

Now, Nicki Minaj is back with the video for “We Go Up,” getting back to her Smack DVD Nicki days. Decked out in a hot pink ensemble, Nicki parks her Lamborghini Aventadors on the block with Fivio and his crew to assert their street royalty. A few different bandanas show up in this video too, but in such a way that suggests that the movement is stronger when both sides move together, no matter which color flag they wave. With such powerful supporters, it looks like the New york drill movement is having a moment, and who knows? Maybe the genre’s two newest members can find some common ground too.

Now’s the best time for it; Nicki has been working on her comeback, popping up on Coi Leray’s new album and covering Adele on Carpool Karaoke. However, even if she doesn’t patch things up with her former foe as she did with City Girls’ Yung Miami, Nicki is still proving there’s a place for her in the hip-hop landscape, even after taking so much time off.
