Central Cee Taps Fellow Londoner RAYE For “Moi”

Central Cee has been pretty prolific over the last couple of months, dropping off singles galore. It certainly has to be an exciting time for Cench fans for this reason, but also because of the roll out he’s in the middle of. Pretty soon, the London, England rapper and songwriter will be dropping CAN’T RUSH GREATNESS, and it’s being billed as his debut album. A release date is still in the works, but with just about two and a half months to go before the end of 2024, we are expecting that news to come sooner than later.

We also foresee that because Central Cee is back with the alleged third single, “Moi”. The track sees him collide with fellow Londoner RAYE, an R&B/pop songwriter, singer, and producer. She’s worked with the likes of 070 Shake, Lucky Daye, Coi Leray, David Guetta, and more. You might have heard RAYE and Shake’s ultra-popular hit “Escapism.” on TikTok or just via a playlist on DSPs. It’s an interesting marriage for sure, as Cench obviously lives in the belly of the drill scene, whereas as RAYE is known for power ballads and dance cuts. Check it out for yourself with the link below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

“Moi” – Central Cee & RAYE

Quotable Lyrics:

The way that I’m in and out of these countries, f*** and duck, I don’t get to hang
Put on my cape and set her free, I’m the reason that she left her man
Good things come to those who wait, I don’t believe that, bro, you gotta grind
Two iPhones, gotta switch devices, bro’s showin’ me which sticks to buy
I’m here tonight but gone tomorrow, if you wanna f***, then quick, decide
The United Kingdom tax too high, so I might leave and dip Dubai

Big Sean & Gunna Are A Resilient Duo On “It Is What It Is”

Big Sean made sure to highlight a lot of relatable topics on his new album, Better Me Than You. It’s fair to say that everyone needs some extra motivation at times to get through a long day at work, a rough patch, and etc. Whatever the case may be, hip-hop music can typically be a place where listeners go to get a boost of adrenaline to conquer the day. Big Sean’s sixth studio album has a fair number of tracks like that, including his Gunna collab “It Is What It Is”.

This is the first time that we have ever heard these two together and it turns out they complement each other well. It helps that their styles aren’t drastically different, but nonetheless, it’s great to Sean looking to expand his horizons. On “It Is What It Is”, both MCs are talking about what they’ve done to block out the noise to get where they want to go in life. Sacrifice, taking baby steps, and removing certain people out their lives were just a few strategies they applied. Besides the topical focus, the beat is also a homerun, as Gunna’s most frequent producer Turbo shows up here. Him, along with Omar Grand, concoct a Hispanic/trap fusion with trumpets and punchy drum kicks. It’s woozy, grand in scale, and overall, just a great listen.

310babii Recruits Saweetie For Alternate Version Of Smash Hit “Rock Your Hips”

310babii is continuing to build on the success of his viral single “soak city”. The Inglewood, California native has definitely put any and all one-hit wonder claims to shame, especially since dropping other tracks like “pink whitney”, the “soak city” remix with OhGeesy & BlueBucksClan, and now “rock your hips”. The latter is one of his 2024 singles, as well as one of the lead off tracks for his February 23 LP, nights and weekends. The project went on to feature multiple California natives such as Kalan.FrFr, 03 Greedo, Tyga, Blueface, and more. Now, that West Coast collaboration portfolio is growing for 310babii with the release of the “rock your hips” remake with Saweetie.

The 18-year-old didn’t stop there, though. He dropped this track with several other renditions of this remix. You can also bump “sped up”, “slowed down”, “instrumental”, and a clean version. The “rock your hips” collab also has a fun and quirky music video, with 310babii learning how to play golf. His coach instructs that he needs to “rock your hips like Shakira” to get a good swing off the tee box. When he does this, he gets a hole and one immediately. There’s some choreography during Saweetie’s part which could led to a dance craze on TikTok. If you’re looking for fun summer song to bump in the whip or at outdoor parties, then “rock your hips” is for you. You can check out the remix with Saweetie with the music video link below.

Jean Dawson & Lil Yachty Deliver Emotionally Excellent Single “Die For Me”

Jean Dawson and Lil Yachty are two of the best when it comes to working in multiple genres. The former has done so on multiple occasions this year already on songs like “New Age Crisis”, “fIT chECK fREEsTYle”, and more. As for the Georgia native, you just have to look at Bad Cameo and Let’s Start Here. With their respective risks under their belts, Lil Yachty and Jean Dawson are forming an alliance on this new single, “Die For Me”. On this track, both are singing and rapping passionately over a grand instrumental that continues to raise its intensity level each second.

Essentially, Dawson and Yachty don’t want anyone to remember them, especially if they aren’t willing to lay their own life down for them. Additionally, the message could be for a woman or anyone that claims to be close to them. “I bet somebody love me, no / After I’ve died, we’ll see / Don’t show up at my funeral / If you won’t die for me“, Dawson belts on the chorus. Yachty also puts in memorable and crazed performance, as he notches another successful collaboration for 2024. “I can’t fathom you being with no other / I love you more than I love my mother / Love your mother ’cause you came from her / I’m a psycho, but it’s ’cause I love you“. Bruiser Wolf Unexpectedly Collabs With Producer F1LTHY For “Rope Chain” Single

Bruiser Wolf is one of the more interesting characters you are going to encounter in the hip-hop world today. He features a truly one-of-a-kind delivery on top of zig-zagging flows and wild bars. It makes that sense that Detroit underground legend Danny Brown would sign him to his recent Bruiser Brigade record label. All of Bruiser’s albums, two to be exact, are under that roof. Dope Game Stupid would be his debut in 2021 with his sophmore effort arriving earlier this year. My Story Got Stories would include features from Danny, Zelooperz, Trinidad James, and more. His 2023 was also eventful thanks to a feature on Brown’s standout return project Quaranta. But for 2024, Bruiser Wolf is looking to keep his momentum going with “Rope Chain”.

This is his second release post My Story Got Stories, with “Brick Up” back in March being the previous offering. Bruiser Wolf began to tease “Rope Chain” just over a week ago on his social media pages and fans were pretty ecstatic to get it. That excitement partially stems from the fact that he got producer F1LTHY for this record. “Bruh what in the hell is this gonna sound like”, one user replied to the IG announcement. “WTF IS THIS COLLAB????? IM HERE FOR IT😭”, another added. F1LTHY is known for his extensive work with artists such as Playboi Carti, and even others like Drake, Lil Yachty, and more. Pit his wavy and atmospheric production up against Bruiser’s zany style and you have a truly interesting combo. You can hear what they cooked up on “Rope Chain” with the audio link below.

Asake & Travis Scott Get “Active” On Latest Single From The Afrobeats Star’s Upcoming Album

Travis Scott is an artist known for crossing over into genres from foreign countries and that’s what he’s doing here with Asake. The latter is a big name in the Nigerian Afrobeats space and their new single together, “Active”, which is also their first, is going to be on Lungu Boy. That is Asake’s forthcoming fifth studio album and it will be available on streaming on August 9. It will feature a 15-song set, as well as other guest appearances from the likes of Central Cee, Stormzy, and LUDMILLA. The Cench collaboration, “Wave”, was released on June 20 and it serves as the lead single. That track has been blowing up, and it currently sits at over 21 million streams.

On “Active”, Asake and Travis Scott are certainly doing just that over a lively and bouncy beat. Both offer up slick flows in their native languages. However, Scott does show love to Ikeja, the capital city of Lagos State, in his verse. “I just hopped off from the PJ, from the H to Ikeja (Uh)“. However, after emitting tons of energy on the first half, the track slows down in the last quarter or so. It abruptly transitions into a spacey outro from MIKE DEAN and Asake caps that section off with some braggadocio. With already over a million views on YouTube, this track figures to be another hit for Asake, as well as a standout feature for La Flame in 2024.

DDG Cops An Instrumental From Cash Cobain For “Copy My Drip”

DDG and Cash Cobain are two artists who are pretty hit and miss. For the Pontiac, Michigan rapper, if he has a winning chorus or flow, the track tends to be solid. For the New York-bred producer, if he presents an addicting melody or an interesting drum pattern, the beat can be so good that it carries a song. However, neither is the case on this latest single from DDG, “copy my drip”. What we get from both stars is a pretty run of the mill trap beat with an uninteresting guitar loop and some painfully boring and awkward bars.

F*** with me, I’ll f*** ’round and I’ll f*** your b**** / He ain’t do his research, he ain’t know I’m lit / Plain black T-shirt with no logo, he ain’t know this Rick / Huh, I’m like, “Where your ho go?” He ain’t know I hit“. The chorus is just one spot where DDG presents a one-note flow and delivery that makes the short track that much more of a tedious listen. Thankfully, the multi-hyphenate has put out some much more favorable tracks this year. If you need some recommendations, we encourage you to check out “she ain’t leaving” and “Shoot Up Your Block”, just to name a couple.

We countin’ bread and these n****s countin’ crumbs (Uh-huh)
I want some head ‘fore I get up in them buns
N****, that’s mandatory, I pulled up in a Maybach, mm
Yeah, that’s end of story (Ooh)

Lil Yachty & Ian Drop Aptly Titled Track For The Critics, “Hate Me”

Two rappers that know how to get debates going are Lil Yachty and newcomer, ian. The Georgia native’s evolution over the last year and change has earned him a lot of respect. However, at various points in this fan proclaimed, “generational run”, Lil Boat has been accused of copying other rapper’s styles and being a culture vulture. The latter of those allegations comes in conjunction with ian, who has essentially become a viral overnight sensation. He markets himself as just your average white suburban kid who hides his rap persona underneath. That combined with his Yeat influences clear as day on Valedictorian have led a lot of listeners to discredit him immediately. All of these reasons are why Lil Yachty and ian’s collaboration, “Hate Me”, comes at the right time.

This track is specifically for the haters, and it drops about a month after all of the aforementioned critiques were thrust upon them. Yachty and ian were also seen in the studio around that period, so this joint effort has been in the works. For now, “Hate Me” is out on YouTube only, and hopefully it gets a wider release because these guys snapped. Yachty and ian (in particular) have a lot of great one liners and quotables that fans are already gravitating toward (see below). Check out the #6 trending track for music on YouTube with the Lyrical Lemonade music video link.

Childish Gambino & Yeat’s “Cruisin’” Is A Nonstop Thrill Ride

As most hip-hop fans are aware, Bando Stone and The New World is the last album Childish Gambino is going to release. It remains to be seen if Donald Glover decides to put out music under his government name. For now, though, supporters of the genre chameleon’s craft are enjoying this project for what it is in the moment. This soundtrack-to-be for his upcoming self-titled film is a melting pot of genres and soundscapes, which makes sense. There is a good chance that every track is included within the confines of the storyline in some capacity. However, the one that has us scratching our heads (for now) is the collaboration effort between Childish Gambino and Yeat, “Cruisin’”.

This tandem had been making some headlines over the last several months, as Yeat was sharing some ambiguous messages and pics of them working in the studio together. All of this was going on around the time that the rage specialist was getting ready to drop his album, 2093. In hindsight, it appears that all of that teasing was for the sake of their first-ever song together on Bando Stone. Regardless, we are happy it’s finally here.

Obviously, a track with Gambino and Yeat is something a lot may not expect. It makes sense, even with the former being such an experimenter. Overall, though, “Cruisin’” goes over very well, as the pace of the instrumental keeps you on your toes. It starts out fairly restrained and the tone is more lighthearted. Then, the beat swells up and it eventually dips down into the distorted and cavernous depths. Yeat makes the most of his six bars before Gambino returns and delivers some impassioned vocals on the track’s crescendo. Like a great action sequence, the thrills are at a constant high, and we surmise “Cruisin’” will be the perfect backdrop for an action-packed scene in Bando Stone as they fight to survive in their apocalyptic world.

Rob49 & Cardi B Are Unhinged On “On Dat Money”

Rob49 and Cardi B are both known to drop some very high-octane tracks, so them collaborating for “On Dat Money” is a perfect marriage. Ever since the Louisiana rapper grabbed a short but zany guest verse on Travis Scott’s “TOPIA TWINS” almost a year ago, his profile has grown immensely. He has been teaming up with some of the biggest stars and fast risers such as Lil Wayne, Skilla Baby, BossMan Dlow, and more. Speaking of Weezy, “On Dat Money” is follow-up to his collab with Rob on “Wassam Baby”. It also comes after “Off Dat Drank”, both of which are possible future album placements.

While we do not have word on that front yet, we do know that this first-time team effort was teased about a week ago on the lead’s IG. Rob49 and Cardi B got fans excited by promising a fire track and it certainly does deliver. Both are saying anything and everything on this record, such as, “I ride d**k on my feet, I be hoppin’ like a bunny (Uh)“. If the goal of “On Dat Money” was to be uber-horny, then it definitely succeeds in that department. Take a listen to the song and check out the music video with the link below.
