Donald Trump has now faced various attempts on his life, and that’s not counting the ones that remained plans instead of full-on attempts. For example, according to The Washington Post, law enforcement charged three men in connection to an alleged plot to assassinate the convicted United States president-elect during his successful campaign for a second term in office. An FBI agent’s sworn testimony detailed phone conversations with Farhad Shakeri, a correspondent for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps who is one of the three men federal authorities accused of this plot. Shakeri alleged that he and the codefendants planned to assassinate the Republican politician in mid-September.
Allegedly, they received a deadline of October 7 to come up with a plot, but plans did not find an opportunity to manifest due to Farhad Shakeri’s contact in the Guard Corps’ disapproval. According to Shakeri, his contact found their plan to lack in strategic value, and suggested that they attempt to resume the plot after the election. They mistakenly thought Donald Trump would lose, according to Shakeri’s alleged testimony. “[Shakeri] was tasked by the regime to direct a network of criminal associates to further Iran’s assassination plots against its targets, including president-elect Donald J. Trump,” Attorney General Merrick Garland stated.
Furthermore, law enforcement arrested Fahrad Shakeri’s alleged associates, Carlisle Rivera and Jonathan Loadholt, without bond. Reportedly, they are New York City residents. As for Shakeri, federal authorities believe he is on the run in Iran. Fortunately, it seems like this alleged plot never came to fruition and did not result in any loss of life or damage. Meanwhile, the world continues to react to Donald Trump’s win over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
“It goes like this… America is a liar, yeah, yeah, yeah,” Tamar Braxton shared on social media. “Y’all lied… Lied, lied, lied, lied. Oh my god, I cried myself to sleep last night… I don’t trust them. I don’t trust none of y’all. Oh my God, y’all sat up here and said ‘Kamala,’ ‘Kamala,’ ‘Kamala,’ I feel so unaccomplished as a Black woman. So unappreciated. Like y’all would rather have someone who blatantly says, ‘Grab them by the p***y’ and give them a microphone like they giving a blow job…”
Diddy and his legal team have reportedly responded to allegations that surged from alleged eyewitnesses at various Jamie Foxx shows taping his upcoming Netflix special, What Had Happened Was, in early October in Atlanta. Specifically, videographer and producer Choke No Joke claimed to Comedy Hype that Foxx said Sean Combs “did something” to him and that he called the FBI on him. In addition, celebrity bodyguard Big Homie .CC alleged to Cam Capone News that the Bad Boy mogul tried to poison the actor before his health scare, which led to Foxx calling federal authorities. These are just allegations, something that Combs’ legal team reportedly emphasized.
Furthermore, in an email reportedly issued to AllHipHop, Diddy’s legal team called all of these allegations around Jamie Foxx “outlandish, ridiculous and baseless.” In addition, they also claimed that Foxx’s team also denied any connection regarding these allegations. This lines up with other conflicting reports on the matter, including one testimony from alleged comedy show eyewitness, actor Dennis L.A. White. “People keep asking me if Diddy was responsible. He was not. If he was, I would’ve been dead,” he told Page Six.
White also suggested that Jamie Foxx did name-drop Diddy during the taping of his special, but that he only referred to him in jest. More importantly, he claimed that Foxx did not directly accuse Combs outright or mention law enforcement at all, so it seems like this could’ve been a misinterpretation. Regardless, we won’t know for sure until we see the comedy special or other verifiable footage for ourselves. What Had Happened Was will presumably cover a lot of topics, including the frightening health scare last year that caused concern among many fans.
As for more Diddy updates, his legal team recently claimed that federal government authorities have formed an “illicit” deal with the press to leak false information that could prejudice his right to a fair trial. Law enforcement denied this claim already, but it’s something that the defense continues to stress and allege. Perhaps a ruling or other motion can settle this issue and redefine how the case disseminates publicly. But it all seems very complicated, especially when you can’t control every single allegation that emerges.
While Lil Durk has seemingly made some positive changes in his life in recent times, the Chicago-born rapper’s alleged past has come back to haunt him. According to reports from ABC7, the FBI arrested the rapper, accusing him of paying money for a retaliatory attack on Quando Rondo in Los Angeles. As more details come forward, we’re breaking down everything we know about the situation right now.
OTF Members Picked Up By Feds Over Alleged Quando Rondo Murder Attempt
Five individuals tied to Chicago’s hip-hop collective “Only the Family” (OTF) face federal charges in Los Angeles, California, for allegedly conspiring to kill rapper Quando Rondo. Authorities linked these accusations to a supposed retaliatory attack following the 2020 killing of King Von, an artist and friend of OTF’s founder, Lil Durk.
Charges & Allegations Against OTF Members
The feds charged the defendants—Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston—with conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, committing murder-for-hire resulting in death, and using a machine gun in a violent crime, according to the Chicago Tribune. If convicted, these charges carry severe penalties, including potential death sentences.
Prosecutors allege an unnamed OTF affiliate, who reportedly offered cash and music industry opportunities as incentives for killing Quando Rondo, directed the suspects. Authorities accused Lil Durk and OTF of using funds from OTF to cover travel and car rental expenses linked to the planned attack.
The charges stem from the 2020 killing of King Von, who died after an altercation with Quando Rondo outside an Atlanta nightclub that resulted in a fatal shooting. King Von, born Dayvon Bennett, had risen in the drill rap scene with popular tracks like “Crazy Story” and “Took Her to the O,” thanks to Lil Durk’s mentorship. Following Von’s death, Durk allegedly offered a “bounty” on Quando Rondo, whose real name is Tyquian Bowman, as reported by FBI Special Agent Sarah Corcoran.
According to federal documents, the plan to kill Rondo took shape nearly two years later. On August 18, 2022, Durk’s associates were allegedly informed of Rondo’s stay at a Los Angeles hotel. Allegedly under Durk’s orders, the OTF members traveled from Chicago to California, financed through Durk’s resources.
Quando Rondo narrowly escaped injury in August 2022 when gunmen attacked him and his family near a West Hollywood gas station. Bowman’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, 24, died in the incident, though Bowman and his sister emerged uninjured.
Court records detail how Deandre Wilson, Keith Jones, David Lindsey, Asa Houston, and a fifth, unnamed suspect arrived in Los Angeles and rendezvoused with top OTF associate Kayon Grant. Grant, who allegedly flew in on a private jet, provided accommodations, rented vehicles, and secured firearms, including a modified automatic machine gun. The group wore ski masks, provided by Grant, to conceal their identities.
The indictment outlines how the group tracked Rondo and Robinson, following their black Cadillac Escalade through multiple locations across Los Angeles, including a marijuana dispensary and a West Hollywood clothing store. When the Escalade eventually stopped at a gas station across from the Beverly Center, Houston reportedly positioned the vehicle for the ambush. Three men, including Jones and Lindsey, approached and opened fire, killing Robinson but missing Rondo.
Surveillance footage allegedly shows the vehicles tailing Bowman’s SUV as it traveled between a marijuana dispensary, clothing store, and ultimately to a gas station where the shooting occurred. Houston reportedly drove the Infiniti to an alley near the gas station, where Jones, Lindsey, and another accomplice exited to carry out the ambush.
After the shooting, the suspects allegedly regrouped at a nearby In-N-Out Burger to discuss payment. The indictment states that the group then returned to Chicago, flying out from San Diego the next day. Payments for the attack were allegedly handled by Wilson, who distributed an undisclosed amount to Jones and Lindsey. Police arrested the suspects on Thursday in Chicago. They now face serious federal charges, including conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire. Court records have yet to confirm attorney representation for the defendants.
The feds charged 32-year-old Lil Durk, whose legal name is Durk Banks, with “conspiracy to use interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death” for Lul Pab’s murder. The FBI affidavit claims the revenge plot tied to the fatal shooting of King Von in 2020. “Mr. Banks is charged with orchestrating a cold-blooded murder that resulted in the death of a rival’s family member,” said Martin Estrada, United States Attorney. “Not only that, the shooting occurred in the open, at a gas station at a busy intersection, endangering many others in the area. If convicted, Durk, along with his co-defendants, could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.
Per Akademiks, the indictment lists Durk as Co-Conspirator 1. Authorities believe Durk’s Chicago-based collective, Only the Family (OTF), has played a central role in the scheme, with additional arrests potentially forthcoming. FBI agent arrested Lil Durk on Thursday night in South Florida and remains in federal custody. He reportedly tried to leave the country, with FBI agents intercepting him before he could board a flight to Italy. His representatives have not yet issued a public comment on the charges.
Durk’s Attempt To Evade Authorities
Following the arrests of his associates, Lil Durk reportedly made arrangements to flee the country, booking flights to Dubai, Switzerland, and, ultimately, a private flight to Italy. However, federal agents apprehended him in Miami before he could leave U.S. soil. Lil Durk and his co-defendants are being held as they await transfer to Los Angeles, where the case will proceed in federal court.
Durk No Longer Has The Key To The City
In recent weeks, Durk’s philanthropic efforts and success have earned him the keys to two Chicago suburbs: Bellwood and Broadview. However, the recent developments have led one of the mayors to withdraw the honor. Mayor Katrina Thompson of Broadview, Illinois, made the announcement on Friday. “While the American system of justice grants everyone the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law, in the Village of Broadview, the court of public opinion of residents has even higher moral and ethical standards of behavior,” Mayor Katrina Thompson said in a statement to WGNTV.
“And our public partners must also reflect the same uncompromising standards demanded by our residents. Given the news that Durk ‘Lil Durk’ Banks has been arrested in Florida and charged with murder for hire, the Village of Broadview is withdrawing our honorary ‘key to the village’ granted to Durk and is terminating our partnership agreement with his youth organization, Neighborhood Heroes Foundation. As mayor, protecting Broadview’s interests and upholding the values of residents is job number one.”
Bellwood Mayor Harvey says Durk’s arrest came as a shock to him. However, he refused to make a decision on taking away the key until the facts play out in court. “We live in the United States of America where the accused is innocent until proven guilty,” he said, per CBS. “As I said, right now we have allegations. He has not been tried.”
This week, the world learned of some new allegations regarding the content matter of Jamie Foxx’s upcoming comedy special, What Had Happened Was. He promised to divulge on his health scare last year and a whole lot of other issues, and according to various alleged eyewitness reports, he commented on the Diddy situation. However, these stories conflict each other, as some allege that the actor claimed to have called the FBI on Sean Combs and insinuated that the Bad Boy mogul “did something” to him. Not only that, but one alleged eyewitness claimed that Combs actually “poisoned” Foxx, according to a Page Six report on these alleged eyewitnesses.
Some folks connected this to the health scare, although this alleged poisoning supposedly happened before that according to the alleged eyewitness who saw Foxx’s shows in Atlanta earlier this month. Now, according to an alleged source who reportedly spoke to TMZ, we have another alleged eyewitness report that seems to dismiss these theories. The alleged eyewitness reportedly claimed to the outlet that Jamie Foxx did name Diddy while discussing his scary hospitalization, but that it was all in jest and not comprised of actual accusations about his hospitalization, the FBI, or any other sort of conflict.
Diddy & Jamie Foxx At The Ladylike Foundation’s 9th Annual Women Of Excellence Awards Gala
As such, now we have various conflicting reports about these alleged remarks about Diddy from Jamie Foxx, and we don’t even know if they will make the final version of What Had Happened Was. So take all of this with a huge grain of salt. Elsewhere, the music executive continues to seek swift action in his federal case alleging sex trafficking and other charges. The latest development in that is a scathing request for a gag order and claims that the government is leaking false information to the press.
As for Jamie Foxx, he continues to enjoy life and reconnect with fans and loved ones alike after his mysterious health scare. For example, earlier this fall, he walked his daughter Corinne down the aisle at her wedding, which was very wholesome to see. We’ll see if anything else comes of these alleged Diddy references in What Had Happened Was, and if they make the final cut.
With the recent arrest of Chicago drill rap pioneer Lil Durk for his alleged connection to a murder-for-hire plot, several pertinent pieces of information have been made public about the case, including the authorities’ discovery of Durk’s attemot to leave the country and details within the federal indictment that points to a long time OTF(Only The Family) member as the reason for Durk’s arrest.
The details included in the indictment filed in the U.S. District Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles identified OTF Jam as an informant who wore a wire to provide information to authorities for years. Jam, who was released from prison in 2022 after serving 12 years behind bars for attempted murder, reportedly provided information directly linking Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, to the murder-for-hire scheme against Tyquian Bowman aka Quando Rondo.
According to the indictment, OTF members and affiliates organized the plot and discussed payments after the alleged attempt on Bowman’s life. On the same day, OTF-related credit cards were allegedly used to book flights for the persons involved in the hit to return to Chicago. Prosecutors claim that these transactions and the informant’s recordings played key roles in linking Banks to the murder-for-hire plan.
An interview from last year with OTF Jam, he details how Lil Durk provided for him like a brother during his time locked up, taking care of his legal fees while he was fighting his case, bought him a house, car and even gave him more than $50K in cash, which Jam admits was actually more. Ironically, according to the federal indictment, this is the same person responsible for Durk being charged with murder.
If convicted, Durk could face a statutory maximum sentence of life in federal prison.
Suge Knight has more than a few words to say about the Diddy indictment, whether as a fellow music mogul or as someone who’s observed his moves for a long time. Moreover, he recently spoke to Chris Cuomo on News Nation about these allegations, speaking on the Bad Boy executive’s various industry ties, the other celebrities that support him, and speculation about his state of mind right now. However, another interesting part of the interview was when the Death Row boss theorized as to what resources Sean Combs could benefit from or have access to for his federal trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
“He’s not a dummy so he’s smart enough to work his magic,” Suge Knight said of Diddy. “On top of that, he’s been involved with the FBI for most of his career. He got powerful people. One of his partners who started his company with drug money, President Obama got him out of prison! So it’s not like he don’t have no moves. I don’t think nobody should just count him out. I don’t think he’s gonna lay down and curl in the corner and die. He’s probably going through a lot of withdrawals with the drugs [in jail].”
Still, one element that Suge Knight spoke on that wasn’t as relevant to the trial itself was Diddy’s placement on suicide watch. “I don’t wanna say he’s in danger and neither should he say that,” he posited. “Because once he gets to the point where they feel he’s gonna be suicidal… you don’t have the rights to nothing: no sock, no drawers, no T-shirt, no blanket, no sheets. You’re naked in a cell as a crazy man, so he definitely don’t wanna do that.”
Meanwhile, Suge Knight specifically called out various rap icons who he believes were fully aware of Diddy’s alleged crimes. “Facts is there,” he claimed. “Where we’re at now, I don’t care if it’s T.I., I don’t care if it’s Rick Ross, I don’t care if it’s Jay. I don’t care if it’s Snoop, I don’t care if it’s Game, I don’t care if it’s Dre. Nobody stepping up on the fact that you know what’s going on.”
Bad Bunny was on a big North American tour this year in support of last year’s album, nadie sabe lo que va a pasar mañana, a trek that federal authorities claim was almost the target of domestic terrorism. Moreover, the FBI recently unveiled an indictment against white 58-year-old Arizona man Mark Adams Prieto, and it claims that he tried to carry out a mass shooting at an Atlanta rap concert in mid-May, which lines up with the Puerto Rican superstar’s tour stop in the city this year. Adams allegedly sought to provoke a “race war” before the 2024 election, and to target Black people and other ethnic minorities at this event.
Furthermore, the FBI claimed to have learned of this supposed plan through an alleged confidential informant, and sent an agent for Adams to recruit and confide in. Apparently, he sold some rifles to another of his close connections, and spoke with little reservations about specific details of the alleged attack on this tour. Informants claim that Adams told them he chose to target Atlanta due to Georgia’s previous history as a conservative state before more Black folks moved there. Allegedly, he picked the Bad Bunny concert due to the high number of Black people he thought it would hold, and planned to distribute Confederate flags in the area after the attack while screaming “Whities out here killing” and “KKK all the way.”
Then, federal authorities reportedly pulled over Adams on May 14, the day of the Bad Bunny Atlanta show, as he drove through New Mexico, and seized seven firearms during the arrest. A grand jury delivered the indictment and prosecutors charged Adams with firearms trafficking, transfer of a firearm for use in a hate crime, and possession of an unregistered firearm. Neither Kendall Jenner’s rumored boo nor his team have responded to these claims or the indictment.
Meanwhile, Bad Bunny just wrapped up his tour for his latest album with a spectacular three-night in San Juan, Puerto Rico, which you can find our review of here. Fortunately, none of the violence that Adams allegedly planned took place at this Atlanta show nor at any other. Hopefully federal authorities, colleagues, and communities at large can continue to prevent these horrific attacks when faced with their deliberation.
The FBI is reportedly investigating claims that Diddy had Jennifer Lopezcarry his gun for an infamous 1999 nightclub shooting involving Shyne, according to RadarOnline. The update comes after The New York Post already claimed law enforcement sources told the outlet that authorities could revisit the incident in the wake of Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ sexual assault lawsuit.
Michael Discioarro, a New York criminal defense attorney, said: “They got eyes on him in Miami and the feds are talking to witness after witness. They’re corroborating everything they can. But everything past and present is on the table with Mr. Diddy right now.” Back in 1999, Diddy, his bodyguard, Anthony “Wolf” Jones, Lopez, and Shyne were all arrested for the shooting, which injured three bystanders. The first three all walked free, but Shyne took a 10-year prison sentence, prompting rumors he was the fall guy for the incident.
In Rod’s lawsuit, he claims Diddy “shared that he was responsible for the shooting in the nightclub in New York” and that “Mr. Combs’ girlfriend at the time, Jennifer Lopez, aka, J.Lo carried the gun into the club for him and passed him the gun after he got into an altercation with another individual.” The latest update on the situation comes after authorities raided Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami, last week. The Bad Boy mogul’s attorney, Aaron Dyer, labeled the move a “gross overuse of military-level force.” He added: “Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities. Despite media speculation, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way.”
As of now, police have not arrested Diddy for the investigation, which appears to still be ongoing. He has maintained his innocence in a number of civil lawsuits he’s facing as well. Be on the lookout for further updates on Diddy on HotNewHipHop.
Retired FBI agent Phil Carson, who worked on the murder of 2Pac, says it’s possible the murder suspect in the case, Keefe D, could’ve “spilled his guts” about Diddy. Noting the life sentence Keefe D is facing, Carson explained that he could’ve provided information to help himself out. Keefe D previously claimed Diddy placed a $1 million hit on 2Pac. The comments come as Homeland Security agents raided Diddy’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami. He is also facing numerous civil lawsuits related to misconduct allegations.
“It’s not like the olden days of the Italian mafia where everybody kept their mouth shut,” Carson began, speaking with The Daily Mail. “As soon as somebody has handcuffs on them, they’ll sell out their own mom now. Keefe’s arrested, and that’s a game-changer, because they have something over him. And that’s when he may start spilling his guts. He’s an OG from out here.”
Carson continued: “He’s rubbed shoulders with a lot of the big shots. Every one of those guys has a story to tell about how the streets were run back then. So who’s to say Keefe didn’t start throwing stuff out there that he hasn’t talked about before, to potentially save his a**? That’s not to say it’s the reason federal law enforcement executed these warrants on Diddy’s house. But it would be interesting to know what the evidence is, and where that evidence came from, that they put in these affidavits to get both these search warrants. It’s got to be something of substance.”
Diddy’s attorney, Aaron Dyer, labeled the raids a “gross overuse of military-level force” in a statement the following day. “Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities,” he said. “Despite media speculation, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way.” Be on the lookout for further updates on the case against Diddy on HotNewHipHop.
Culture critic and online agitator Charleston White has claimed that Boosie Badazz threatened his life and has reportedly made this claim to federal authorities.
White made the allegation on IG, posting a video saying, “So Lil Boosie making threats? I’ve already contacted law enforcement concerning these possible threats against my life.” While White offered no proof of the interaction, he also posted screenshots of text messages where he claimed he had witnesses to Boosie allegedly threatening his life.
“Boosie Imma put your motherfucking ass in jail n-gga,” White also said in a video. “You making threats to the promoter. I got a recorded phone conversation with witnesses on the phone saying the promoter is scared for his life and he gotta live in Baton Rouge, that Boosie gonna send them people to get you.”
He added, “I’m waiting for the FBI to send me the right kinda number n-gga cause I’m finna make a report on your motherfucking ass. The man called your name specifically. The promoter specifically said your motherfucking name Lil Boosie, he implemented you and implicated you. Bitch ass n-gga you finna go back to jail. You gonna on yo knee, them knees finna be bleeding again, diabetic freak.”
