dvsn Connects With Jagged Edge For Latest Single, “What’s Up”
As we make our way into R&B season, Canadian R&B duo dvsn has returned with a song that may just have you contemplating sending a text to your ex, called “What’s Up” featuring Jagged Edge.
If you tuned into the artist’s last single, “If I Get Caught Cheating,” this new arrival is a continuation of that, with the accompanying music video revealing the dire and often heartbreaking consequences that come along with infidelity.
“This song was made by us alongside Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox at a time when we were looking for the perfect way to describe the moments and emotions leading up to that late night text you know you shouldn’t send to someone,” dvsn shared in a statement.
“Please don’t mix this song with alcohol and pre-block anyone you know you shouldn’t be talking to. You have 30 mins,” they teased on Twitter ahead of the track’s debut at midnight.

Quotable Lyrics:
Who told you it’s okay to not call me by now?
Who told you you should be at these parties right now?
I know you’re only actin’ happy publicly
You could’ve called me if you needed company

DVSN’s ‘If I Get Caught’ Triggers Response Song From Kandi & Tiny
Since the release of their latest single, “If I Get Caught,” DVSN has certainly stirred the pot and open pandora’s box for conversations on potential toxic relationship.
The group originally finished the recording of the record back in January, with the intention to release it in March. Instead, it was release this Summer. One would say it is perfect timing because Winter months are labeled as “cuffing season.” On the other hand, the warm weather season entices more outside activity that may or may not involve the cuffing season.
“You get to see this person and mentality in its boldest of thoughts,” said Daniel. “There’s something in the honesty of the song, although it may be triggering.”
It has certainly triggered some listeners and raised some eyebrows. “If I Get Caught” has also prompted a response from half of the R&B quartet, Xscape. Kandi Burress and Tameka “Tiny” Harris dropped their response and added their sauce to the pot of controversial R&B. In the chorus they sing:
If you get caught cheating middle finger up ni**a f**k you
Both Nineteen85 and Daniel Day have shared their experiences of getting caught. While they have learned their lessons of the past, the point of the record stretches beyond toxicity.
According to the the R&B duo, (Daniel Day & Nineteen85) their forthcoming album is a story. “If I Get Caught” is only “chapter one of it” that discuss ego.

dvsn Receives a Hand From Jermaine Dupri to Clear Jay-Z Sample New Single “If I Get Caught”
dvsn is getting ready to release their new single, “If I Get Caught.” The new single, which will drop on Friday, contains a JAY-Z sample from “Song Cry,” so the duo of Daniel Daley and Nineteen85 needed to clear a sample, and Jermaine Dupri helped them out.
JD sent a text to Hov and asked for the hand, which drew an immediate reaction of “Haaaaaaaa!!!” after he heard the single.
“I didn’t think one could make a song more toxic than Song Cry,” Jay wrote. “I stand corrected.”
Hov would also jokingly ask for a disclaimer about his previous message before signing off on the clearance.
