Dreamville Announced The Official 2024 Dates For Its Annual Festival

Dreamville Festival will return in 2024, as J. Cole and Dreamville announced the dates for next year’s event, along with sharing some presale information.

The festival is returning to Raleigh, North Carolina on April 6 and 7, 2024. More info will presumably be shared as the date gets closer.

Dreamville Festival is entering its fourth year after officially launching in 2019, when it was rescheduled due to Hurricane Florence. Mother Nature’s beef with J. Cole carried over into 2020, nixing the second edition, which was pushed back into 2022 to allow more time to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dreamville’s 2022 comeback festival was headlined by Lil Baby, with performances from Kehlani, DJ Drama accompanied by Lil Wayne, Jeezy, and T.I., Blxst, Ja Rule and Ashanti, Moneybagg Yo, Larry June, Wizkid, Wale, and T-Pain. Meanwhile, this year’s festival saw J. Cole and Drake play a tandem headlining set, with Usher headlining the first day, and Lil Durk, City Girls, Sean Paul, Jessie Reyez, Key Glock, Summer Walker, GloRilla, Waka Flocka Flame, Mario, Ayra Starr, Baby Tate, and Burna Boy all performing throughout the weekend in addition to the Dreamville roster.

Drake and J. Cole’s set kicked off an impressive run of 2023 live guest appearances from J. Cole, who popped up at shows with Drake tour stop in Montreal, 50 Cent’s Final Lap Tour, and 6lack’s Since I Have A Lover Tour stop in LA.

Drake Posts Up With J. Cole & The OVO Crew In New Dreamville Photo Dump

It’s been nearly a week since the Dreamville Festival kicked off but Drake’s still looking back fondly at the memories. The Scorpion star shared the stage with J. Cole for a co-headlining slot on Sunday night, bringing out a slew of guests on stage. GloRilla, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, and Lil Wayne graced the stage before Cole joined the Canadian rapper on stage for a final bow. Drake and J. Cole came through with a legendary performance that will undoubtedly be remembered for years to come.

Throughout the week, Drake shared some of his favorite memories from the festival on Instagram. Shortly after the festival, he dropped a gang of pictures from his set with his special guests and J. Cole. Today, he gave fans a bit of insight into the behind-the-scenes of the fest. His latest photo dump includes shots of him and J. Cole after they hit the stage, the OVO clique at Dave & Buster’s, and more. According to the Raleigh News Observer, Drake actually rented out the arcade in Raleigh to celebrate the evening.

Drake’s Dreamville Performance Sets The Tone For Summer ‘23

Following a spree of releases through the pandemic, including Certified Lover Boy, Honestly, Nevermind and Her Loss with 21 Savage, the rapper is finally getting ready to hit the road for the first time in years. In the past few months, he’s returned to the stage for a pair of shows at the Apollo Theater, performed at festivals in Latin America, and is currently ramping up for his upcoming tour with 21 Savage – his first North American run since his co-headlining venture with Migos in 2018.

The upcoming It’s All A Blur tour will kick off at New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center on June 16th before closing out in Glendale, AZ on September 5th. The upcoming tour will also hit up major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and more for multiple shows. Given that he’s dropped three albums (four if you include Dark Lane Demo Tapes) since his last tour, we could imagine that his setlist will include plenty of new material. City Girls Make Headlines With Awkward Dreamville Festival Interview: Video

JT and Yung Miami, best known to the world as the City Girls, have come a long way since their humble beginnings in 2017. In 2023 so far, they’ve already performed at Rolling Loud California (where they previewed an upcoming release called “Piñata”), as well as this past weekend’s Dreamville Festival. Not only did the girls join Usher on stage during his headlining set to rap “Good Love,” but they also showed out during a performance of their own, which heard them revisit plenty of fan favourites from their discography.

During the show, the City Girls wore matching brown leather looks, complete with sultry thigh-high boots and flashy silver chains. For her glam, Caresha wore her long black hair in waves down to her booty. JT’s short, chocolate brown locks were in soft, shoulder-length curls. Following the concert, the partners in rhyme sat down for an interview, though the cameras caught Lil Uzi Vert’s girlfriend in a world of her own as the media personalities asked them questions.

Awkward Interview Moment

“Who are your favourites right now?” the host asked the “Act Up” artists, leading to an undeniably hilarious moment of silence from everyone. “Whoever wants to go first,” she later added as the tension continued to build. “I think it’s cool, I love to see everybody thriving!” Yung Miami said. “I feel like everybody deserves a chance, so to see everyone trying to feed their family and do what they love, it’s an amazing thing.” As for who she has her eye on that’s on the come up right now, the City Girl said Lola Brooke and Ice Spice.

During their time at Rolling Loud, the rap duo went through a similar encounter with another media personality, Tamera Kissen, who was accused of acting “unprofessionally” while speaking with her subjects at the California festival. In defence of her unusual behaviour on camera, the 28-year-old wrote on Twitter, “I STILL GOT PAID.” Keep scrolling for more photos and videos from the City Girls’ weekend at Dreamville Festival, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.

In 2022, Summer revamped her 2018 masterpiece Last Day of Summer with Last Day of Summer (Sped Up). The newer version arrived after the TikTok success of “Karma,” which saw spikes in streams after fans sped up the older rendition at the start of 2022. TikTok influencer @whereisreese created the viral dance and helped propel the song into new success, including her No. 9 entry on urban radio, which continues to climb.

Other Summer songs which have found similar success after being sped up on TikTok and YouTube include “Shame,” “Deep,” and her Billboard smash hit “Girls Need Love (Remix)” featuring Drake. The latter began catching traction when Kehlani expressed her joy in the sped-up version, dubbing it her “new favorite sound.” Last Day of Summer is officially the first sped-up album to be released by a major recording artist and is a result of the singer listening to her devoted fanbase, who found pleasure in revisiting her classic but in a newer way. Last Day of Summer was the precursor to Summer’s electric 2019 debut album Over It, which spawned acclaim and fanfare throughout the music industry.

She also continues to rack up more RIAA wins and certifications, including “I’ll Kill You (2X Platinum),” “CPR (Platinum),” “Just Might (Platinum),” “Karma (Platinum),” “Just Might (Platinum),” “Tonight (Platinum),” “Constant Bullshit (Gold),” “Insane (“Gold”), “My Affection” featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR (Gold),” “Off Of You, (Gold”), “Toxic” featuring Lil Durk (Gold)” and “Unloyal” featuring Ari Lennox (Gold).”

Dreamville Festival was a massive success this year. J. Cole and co. brought out the stars for an incredible two-day festival. Along with the Dreamville roster, including J.I.D, Bas, and others, they also hosted acts like Summer Walker, Usher, and plenty of others. However, after closing things out with J. The R&B star took to Instagram where she revealed that she was snatching up everyone’s money. Walker revealed that she won $440 “on accident” from apparently placing bets against a number of people on the basketball arcade game. A video emerged of Walker hitting back-to-back swishes at D&B’s emerged as J. Cole appeared shook at her athletic abilities. Eventually, he holds his head in disbelief while Walker peers over her shoulders and says, “What?” Perhaps, we’ll catch the two of them collaborating in the near future following her win at the arcade.

Evidently, the eventful weekend closed out with some fun for everyone involved in Dreamville Festival. “$440 from Dave N Busters on accident,” she captioned her story. “Ain’t lost one game.” Ultimately, it seems like her skills impressed both Waka Flocka and J. Cole.

The upcoming project marks her first since 2021’s Still Over It. The new EP drops on May 19th, so we’ll have plenty of heat in store for the summer months. Though she hasn’t revealed a tracklist yet, we could imagine that she’ll have a few collabs on deck for Clear 2: Soft Life.
