Kendrick Lamar is back on top of the Billboard Hot 100 with a Drake diss. Following the success of his scene-stealing “Like That” call out, Kendrick Lamar has placed a solo hit on top of the charts with “Not Like Us.”

Additionally, Lamar’s shade to Drake on “Euphoria” moves into the No. 3 slot from No. 11. “Like That” rebounds from No. 8 to No. 6. Drake gets a shot in on his own, with “Family Matters” hitting at No. 7.

“Not Like Us,” released on pgLang/Interscope Records/ICLG, storms onto the Hot 100 with a staggering 70.9 million official streams, 5 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 15,000 units sold in the U.S. for May 9. Remarkably, these numbers were achieved despite the track’s late release on Sunday, May 5, after the chart’s tracking week had already begun on May 3.

Additionally, “Not Like Us” ascends to the top spot on the Streaming Songs chart, becoming Kendrick Lamar’s fifth chart-topper in this category. Its 70.9 million streams represent the highest weekly total among R&B/hip-hop tracks since YouTube user-generated content was excluded from chart calculations in 2020. Surpassing the previous record set by Drake’s “Way 2 Sexy,” featuring Future and Young Thug, which garnered 67.3 million streams in its debut week on rankings dated September 18, 2021.

Furthermore, the track dominates the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts right out of the gate, marking Lamar’s fourth No. 1.

In other chart news, “Euphoria” experiences a surge in streams, climbing to 49 million (up from 28.9 million in its initial frame). At the same time, its airplay audience dips slightly to 1.9 million (down from 2.5 million) and sales increase to 7,000 (up from 6,000) during the May 3-9 tracking period.

Completing Lamar’s trio of hits in the Hot 100’s top 10, “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin rises to No. 6 from its debut atop the chart on April 6. The track gains 22% in streams, reaching 34.2 million during May 3-9, along with a 13% increase in radio reach to 29.4 million and a 76% surge in sales to 3,000 units.

[WATCH] Big Daddy Kane Blames Drake Fans For Ruining The Essence Of Hip Hop Battles

Screenshot 2024 05 14 at 1.05.26 AM

There is no doubt that Big Daddy Kane is one of the most prolific and respected emcees within the culture of Hip Hop. He’s probably your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper. So it definitely came as a surprise that BDK’s perspective of the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle would put the blame of the battle going stale on Drake’s fans.

In anb exclusive interview with Art Of Dialogue, the Brooklyn rap legend stated that he lost interest in the recent battle between Drizzy and K.Dot, citing that Drake’s fans being more concerned about fact checking rather than bars and the rhyme delivery spoiled it for him.

“It’s not a competitive thing about who spit the better bars it’s a thing about fact checking to see if this person told the truth,” Kane stated. “If the line is dope and he dissed you, it’s dope man. It’s that simple. He bodied you with what he said.”

Tried and true on the battle grounds of emceeing, Kane contends that battles were fundamentally different during Hip Hop’s “Golden Era”, stating, “In my days of battling people I said stuff that wasn’t true.”

Kane doesn’t, however, blame Kendrick or Drake for how their fans weigh and judge the competition aspect. “Enjoy the music for what it is,” he said. “If that’s the way the younger generation looks at battles, good for them. It’s not about Kendrick or Drake. Their comments and their views, they make it unenjoyable for me.”

Kane Did say that in his opinion, the best of the “Big Three”, J. Cole, abandoned the battle to his disappointment.  “I think he is,” Kane honorably mentioned. “Like he’s my personal favorite.”

Big Daddy Kane Blames Drake’s Fans For Ruining Hip-Hop Battles

Big Daddy Kane has bulletproof pedigree. He’s one of the most influential and impressive rappers of all time. His beef with MC Shan was legendary and he helped form the Juice Crew. Big Daddy Kane knows the genre better than most people walking the planet, so when he has an opinion, it carries weight. The rapper recently went on The Art of Dialogue to discuss the current state of hip-hop, and he made it very clear that he is not a fan of Drake’s fans.

Big Daddy Kane was asked if he’d been keeping up with Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar, and he said he lost interest. He didn’t lay the blame at the feet of either rapper, but their fanbases. In particular, he was put off by the way Drake’s fans fact-checked Lamar’s bars. “It’s not a competitive thing about who spit the better bars it’s a thing about fact checking to see if this person told the truth,” Kane noted. “If the line is dope and he dissed you, it’s dope man. It’s that simple. He bodied you with what he said.”

Big Daddy Kane Was Initially On Drake’s Side

The veteran rapper noted the differences between when he battled versus the current state of rap battles. Firstly, he admitted to lying about his competitors, as he felt it was all fair game. “In my days of battling people I said stuff that wasn’t true,” he noted. Secondly, he clarified that he didn’t blame either rapper. “Enjoy the music for what it is,” he explained. “If that’s the way the younger generation looks at battles, good for them. It’s not about Kendrick or Drake. Their comments and their views, they make it unenjoyable for me.”

Kane thought both rappers delivered musically. He praised Drake’s “Family Matters” for “saying some sh*t” about Lamar. Then, the fact-checking and ghostwriting allegations soured him on it. “I’ll go back and listen to Bizzy Bee and Kool Moe Dee,” he quipped. “You can have this sh*t.”

The most interesting part about Kane’s stance on Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar is that his favorite “Big Three” rapper stepped away from the battle. He told The Art of Dialogue that J. Cole is the best rapper of his generation. “I think he is,” Kane asserted. “Like he’s my personal favorite.”

21 Savage Refused To Take Sides In Drake And Metro Boomin’s Beef And Thinks They’ll ‘Figure It Out Eventually’

Poor 21 Savage. Caught in the middle of the beef between two of his closest collaborators, Drake and Metro Boomin, the rising Atlanta trap star expressed his hope for peace. During an Instagram Live session with fans while on his American Dream Tour, 21 shared his thoughts on the simmering tension between his two friends and his optimism for the future (no pun intended).

“Don’t keep coming on to my motherf*cking Live talking about no motherf*cking beef,” he told his fans. “Metro my brother and Drake my brother. Those n****s going to figure that sh*t out eventually.”

Fans first sensed that Drake and Metro might be on shaky terms late last year, after Metro voiced his frustrations with the reception of Drake and Savage’s collaborative album in comparison to his own on year-end lists. “Her Loss still keeps winning rap album of the year over [Heroes & Villains],” he wrote. “Proof that awards shows are just politics and not for me.”

Drake needled the producer a couple of times after that, but the tension broke into open warfare with the release of the Future & Metro Boomin album, We Don’t Trust You, which contained an incendiary verse from Kendrick Lamar and kicked off Drake and Kendrick’s increasingly vitriolic back-and-forth.

A splinter conflict between Drake and Metro emerged as a result of Drake’s “Push Ups” taunt for Metro to “shut the f*ck up and make some drums,” resulting in Metro crafting the “BBL Drizzy” instrumental. For all the ruckus, though, Drake appears to have thrown in the towel on his beef with Kendrick, which could mean an end to his similar one with Metro — although fans are still having a field day with the “BBL Drizzy” memes.

DJ Akademiks Accuses Kendrick Lamar Of Sending Bots To His Comments

The Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef continues to go to very strange places even after more than a week with no new disses dropping. Drake’s “The Heart Part 6” beef dropped last weekend and both artists have yet to follow it up. That hasn’t stopped fans from continuing to discuss the matter debating over who won. It also hasn’t stopped members of the rap media like DJ Akademiks making claims about ongoing matters of beef. That’s left fans anticipating that things may not be over like they seem.

One of the strangest elements of the beef are new accusations leveled by Ak. In recent months, particularly on X, formerly twitter, hundreds or even thousands of bots occasionally pop up and tweet bizarre phrases about a particular rapper. This previously roped in Drake and Pusha T reminding fans of the pair’s notorious 2018 beef. Though there’s no actual evidence of who is calling in the bots themselves and programming them to go after fellow rappers, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating. That’s exactly what DJ Akademiks did in a recent post. He screenshotted comments he received quoting one of Kendrick Lamar’s diss tracks. In the caption he accuses the rapper of sending bots to spam his comment section. Check out the evidence he shared below.

DJ Akademiks Thinks He Has Kendrick Lamar Bots In His Comments

It’s no surprise that fans in Ak’s comments are discussing the Drake and Kendrick beef because the streamer himself won’t stop talking about it. He recently claimed that the beef wasn’t actually over. He teased that Drake isn’t done yet, despite what the rapper said on his song “The Heart Part 6.” Fans in the comments aren’t buying the claim though as many have assumed things are wrapped up.

What do you think of DJ Akademiks’ allegations of Kendrick Lamar sending bots to his comment section to quote his own songs? Do you think that any of the recent bizarre bot incidents have actually been brought on by rappers themselves? Let us know in the comment section below.

Rappers Who Believe Drake Won Rap Beef Against Kendrick Lamar

The hip-hop world has been in a heated frenzy lately due to Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s beef. The two rap giants have been going at each other with everything they’ve got, wowing and shocking everyone as they did. It all began after Kendrick dissed Drake and J. Cole in “Like That” from Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You. Drake responded to Kendrick’s diss with “Push Ups” and the A.I.-generated track “Taylor Made Freestyle.” In “Taylor Made Freestyle,” Drake used an AI version of 2Pac and was forced to take the song down after the late rapper’s estate threatened to sue him.

It took a while for Kendrick to respond to Drake. However, he did so to a great effect with “Euphoria” and “6:16 In LA.” Drake returned fire with “Family Matters,” but he got a response from Kendrick less than an hour later, as the latter released “Meet The Grahams.” Kendrick continued the offensive with the diss track/club banger “Not Like Us.” Drake responded to Kendrick with “The Heart Part 6,” where he seemingly noted that he was done with the rap beef.

Amid Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s beef, both rappers made serious but unsubstantiated allegations against each other. For instance, Kendrick accused Drake and his crew of pedophilia, while Drake alleged Kendrick physically assaulted his fiancée, Whitney Alford. The war of words between both rappers entered grim territory following the release of “Family Matters,” causing several debates online as fans analyzed several aspects of the diss tracks. While Kendrick Lamar was generally considered the victor in his beef with Drake, some rappers gave it up to Drake. Here are rappers who think Drake won the rap beef over Kendrick Lamar.

Azealia Banks

Azealia Banks is no stranger to feuds and has been involved in many herself. Hence, she is one person whose opinion will count in the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar beef. Azealia shared her thoughts on the rap beef via posts on her Instagram Story. She sided with Drake after he released “The Heart Part 6.” In the track, Drake revealed he planted the story about him having a secret daughter, which Kendrick bought. With that revelation, Drake made it look like Kendrick was obsessed with him and would buy any negative story about him. In her post, Azealia said Drake’s beef songs were catchy and had more replay value than Kendrick’s. She also said Kendrick was obsessed with Drake and seemed desperate in the ongoing feud.

Jay Electronica

Rapper Jay Electronica seemingly took Drake’s side of the beef when he tweeted a track from the latter’s Certified Lover Boy album. Jay Electronica made the tweet after Kendrick released “Euphoria,” and though he didn’t caption the post, many fans believed it showed he was taking Drake’s side in the beef. After “Euphoria,” Drake and Kendrick Lamar went back to back, releasing diss track after diss track. However, despite the internet being divided over which of the feuding rappers won the rap beef, Jay Electronica stood with Drake.

Jay Electronica doubled down on his support for Drake with a now-deleted tweet after “Heart Part 6” was released. The tweet was accompanied by Larry Graham and Graham Central Station’s album art for My Radio Sure Sounds Good To Me. It read, “I’ve loved this record since a child. It was one of my Mother’s FAVOURITES. Also, as a qualified observer. Drake punishing these boys. I don’t care what nobody say. Don’t @ me. You’re not qualified.”

Gillie Da Kid

Rapper and podcast host Gillie Da Kid shared a hot take about the Kendrick Lamar vs Drake beef shortly after the latter released “The Heart Part 6.” Gillie took to his Instagram page and shared a video where he declared, “It’s over with! Light-skinned n***as won. They took that shit, man. That shit over with, man. Kendrick can’t come back.” Gillie added that he felt Kendrick ended Drake with “Not Like Us.” However, Drake’s response in “The Heart Part 6” made him change his mind and believe Drake won the beef. Gillie captioned his video post, “It’s over with Litskin ni$$az won 🤦🏾‍♂️.”

The Kendrick Lamar vs Drake beef has dominated headlines over the last few weeks. For now, things have slowed down following Drake saying he was done with the beef in “The Heart Part 6.” Kendrick is yet to respond to that track and no one knows if he will. There continue to be different views about which rapper won the beef, but the above-mentioned MCs believe Drake has an edge over Kendrick Lamar. Do you agree with them? Who do you think won the rap beef? Let us know in the comment section below.

Drake Created a Security Company to Protect His Home Around the Clock

Drake Dreamville

Drake has created his security team to protect him. According to CBC News, The Boy has created Jungle Lion Security to protect his home after he was “freaked out” by constant visitors.

The team was created before recent events and is noticed by a white Nissan SUV positioned outside the gates around the clock. The unit was incorporated in January 2020.

An architecture firm delivered plans on why guards needed to be present around the clock to send to the city. He already had approval from the City of Toronto to have a taller-than-standard fence around his mansion.

“Everyone knows where he sleeps, where he eats and that has really freaked him out, us out, and we need heavy security outside,” Brad Rafauli, vice-president of Ferris Rafauli Architectural Design Build Group said during the filing.

Last week, another person was arrested after trespassing on Drake’s home. It was the third incident at the Toronto mansion in three days.

The incident occurred at 3:30 p.m. local time, where a trespasser got into an altercation with security before police arrived. The trespasser was taken to a hospital for injuries sustained during the event.

Unwelcome visitors continue to visit Drake’s Toronto home, nicknamed The Embassy. According to TMZ, on Wednesday (May 9) a man was placed in police custody after attempting to access the sprawling mansion.

Officers were called to the Bridal Path home after a man was intercepted at the security gate and detained until officers arrived. The man was arrested under the Mental Health Act. Canada Global News reporter Tracy Tong revealed the man stated he was “here to see Drake” before engaging in a scuffle with security.

This incident happened less than 24 hours after a shooting at Drake’s residence. According to The Toronto Sun, the man injured is a 48-year-old security guard. He was struck by bullets while “standing outside the gates in front of the home.”

The shooting occurred at 2:09 a.m., and the injuries were considered life-threatening. The shooting was a drive by. One of the bullets hit in the upper chest. The man was transported to the Sunnybrook Hospital and is listed in serious condition.

After the drive-by shooting, a vehicle was seen leaving the area. Law enforcement is allegedly battling “video quality” issues.

There are no details on whether Drake was home despite being seen in Toronto recently.

If you were waiting for a white flag to be waved, this is the closest thing to it because Lamar sure isn’t going to bow out anytime soon.

Drake put up a good fight. But he simply can’t win everything. At least he still has the vicious win from his spat with Meek Mill under his belt.
