DJ Akademiks Reacts To Amanda Seales Claiming Donald Trump Shooting Was Staged

DJ Akademiks is one of the internet’s most popular commentators, so it is no surprise that he had something to say about Amanda Seales’ remarks. Former United States President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt on July 13 at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Secret Service agents quickly neutralized the shooter, later identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks. Shots meant for Trump, who was hit in the ear by one, killed rally attendee Corey Comperatore and injured two others.

Actress Amanda Seales, who was in the news earlier this year for her controversial interview with Shannon Sharpe on his Club Shay Shay podcast, shared her thoughts on Instagram. “That was more staged than a Tyler Perry production of ‘Madea Runs for President,’” said Seales. She added that she “lived in Harlem long enough to know gunshots do not sound like making popcorn on the stove.” After receiving ire for her remarks, she deleted the video and issued a slight retraction.

DJ Akademiks reacted to Seales’ comments on his Twitch livestream, and he did not mince words. He repeatedly referred to her in a derogatory manner, using expletives to describe her. “Some of y’all are so glued into whatever political view y’all have, y’all dismiss reality. B*tch, wake up. There’s a f*cking whole investigation by the FBI outside in Butler. Drive over there and go see if they’re investigating staged sh*t,” said Akademiks.

DJ Akademiks has previously voiced his support for former president Trump, so his reaction is not necessarily a surprising one. He has previously come under fire for the way he speaks about women. His reaction to Seales’ comments also drew criticism. As for Trump, his presidential campaign continued without much of a hitch. He issued a statement on Truth Social commending the Secret Service’s quick response and calling for unity. On Sunday evening, President Joe Biden delivered a speech from the Oval Office calling for an end to all forms of political violence. Trump will announce his running mate at the Republican National Convention on Monday, ahead of a presumed Election Day rematch with Biden.

DJ Akademiks & Joe Budden Lead The Pack In Complex’s Hip-Hop Media Power Ranking

Every year, Complex publishes its editorial list of the biggest figures in hip-hop media for that timespan, and 2024 saw the return of last year’s titans… in reverse order. Moreover, DJ Akademiks got the top spot over Joe Budden, who had topped the list last year with Ak at number two. This year, Budden came in second, and other names on the ranking include Anthony Fantano, Sway Calloway, Angela Yee, Trap Lore Ross, Charlamagne Tha God, Van Lathan, Big Boy, Bootleg Kev, and even artists like Lil Yachty and Rory. Regardless of what your personal ranking might look like, you can’t deny that all these folks are worthy of the accolade to some degree.

“The unofficial birth of CNN and the 24-hour news cycle came with the Gulf War. The unofficial birth of DJ Akademiks as the No. 1 figure in hip-hop media came with the Kendrick Lamar and Drake rap war,” Complex‘s Dimas Sanfiorenzo wrote of the streamer and podcaster. “If Budden was there (a couple of days later) to help fans deconstruct the latest diss songs between Dot and Drake, Ak was the figure you celebrated with at the moment. It’s the benefit, of course, to always being on, a tactic Ak has mastered over the years.”

Complex‘s 2024 Hip-Hop Media Ranking

“Nearly 10 years after he started his podcast, Joe Budden’s role as an elder statesman of new rap media is indisputable,” Complex‘s Kia Turner wrote of the Slaughterhouse MC. “The Joe Budden Podcast… has become appointment listening (and viewing) for millennials seeking their weekly dosage of sophisticated ignorance, industry insider talk, diabolical cultural opinions, and passionate rants. Joe Budden has the gall, larger-than-life persona, industry connections, and humor to tackle a wide spectrum of topics in diverse ways, from vitriolic intensity to light-hearted bemusement.”

Meanwhile, we’re sure that all of these media figures will have plenty more great content and coverage to share in rap music for the rest of the year. After all, DJ Akademiks got back on a Kendrick Lamar and Drake rant to claim that the pgLang camp is “milking” this feud too far. We’re sure that Joe Budden and company have their own views on the matter, and that discourse extends to every other corner of hip-hop. We’ll see whether 2024 holds other hot names, new challengers, and legendary returns for the culture’s media, and you can check out Complex‘s full list and their write-ups by clicking the “Via” link down below.

DJ Akademiks Thinks Kendrick Lamar’s Camp Is Too Obsessed With The Drake Beef

DJ Akademiks has been arguably the fieriest commentator amid the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, and his OVO repping keeps getting more and more heated. Moreover, he recently responded to shady Ab-Soul tweets and the general reception to the “Not Like Us” video, as well as rumors that either K.Dot or Drizzy are looking for a round two. Well, Ak has a pretty different perspective, accusing Kendrick’s camp of milking this beef and trying to bait The Boy into another response. This rant seemingly occurred during the same livestream in which he trolled artists for not having or getting Kendrick features despite their participation in The Pop Out show or the aforementioned music video.

“So my last thoughts on this is a pathetic attempt, I believe, by pgLang and TDE to try to bait Drake out,” DJ Akademiks remarked. “Talking about ‘redemption is not off the table.’ N***a, listen, call me the spokesperson for Drake or OVO, but I can tell you, n***a. Drake is gonna drop amazing music, it’s gonna be good. If you think he gon’ keep going back and forth with that n***a calling him a pedophile and lying, he’s not. So move on, hurry along, and y’all go drop y’all music. See you n***as on the f***ing charts. That’s it, okay? That’s it. There’s no more conversation, that’s it.”

DJ Akademiks Wants Kendrick Lamar To Stop “Milking” The Drake Beef

Of course, there are a lot of rumors around what Drake will drop next, with some like DJ Akademiks claiming that it won’t have anything to do with Kendrick Lamar and others anticipating more shots. We won’t really know until more new music comes out, but we doubt that the Toronto superstar wouldn’t have a subliminal bar or two over this situation in the future. As for his Compton rival, perhaps his supposed new album will focus more on the West Coast or on other topics that aren’t “Other Vaginal Option”-related. What are you betting on?

Meanwhile, even Siri is glitching out over this battle, and to see its crossovers into pop culture is a pretty comical and curious affair. DJ Akademiks doesn’t want this to keep progressing, but there are a whole lot of fans who say otherwise. We’ll see what sides of their duality these MCs choose to feed into. But what’s true is that on both sides, there are plenty of people who want to speak on behalf of these artists and dig the hole deeper down a combative path.

DJ Akademiks Clowns YG & Roddy Ricch For Not Getting Kendrick Lamar Features

DJ Akademiks has a question for all the West Coast artists that supported Kendrick Lamar publicly for The Pop Out, the “Not Like Us” music video, and his beef with Drake in general. Moreover, he seems to think that these artists should be demanding features from K.Dot, and insinuated that they aren’t happy with him just having them dance in his content instead of supporting their careers as well. While Ak didn’t name any artists in particular, it’s clear that he spoke generally of artists like YG, Roddy Ricch, Tyler, The Creator, and others. Regardless of whether you agree with this metric, folks got a heavy streaming boost from The Pop Out, so what’s the real issue here?

“If anything, let’s talk about this,” DJ Akademiks began his latest rant. “For everybody that was at The Pop Out or at the cookout or at the f***ing ‘Not Like Us’ video, when are y’all n***as gon’ get y’all goddamn Kendrick features? Don’t tell me y’all n***as is just extras in the music video or just on stage to be on stage. When are y’all getting y’all Kendrick features? That’s what we should talk about. When?

DJ Akademiks Wants To See Features Between The Kendrick Lamar Camp

“Drake gon’ be good,” DJ Akademiks continued. “When are y’all getting y’all features? Because it’s only so long y’all can hold the pom-poms for Kendrick without realizing you’re an artist, too! He brought you up there to dance, n***a, this s**t ain’t gon’ get your bank account filled. All this… When are you getting your features? Oh, you not getting your features. Oh, it’s not happening. He gave you the look in the music video. That’s it? Oh! Oh, he’s back in New York? Oh!

“When are y’all gon’ get y’all cash out for showing up on stage and dancing like a bunch of motherf***ing clowns up there, doing all this s**t?” DJ Akademiks concluded. “When are y’all gon’ get the features that gon’ help y’all s**t? I just want to know!” With all the new music rumors going around about both Kendrick Lamar and Drake, it’s very possible that this issue Ak is presenting will not age very well.

DJ Akademiks Claims That Sketch Coming Out As Gay Will Actually Boost His Career

Sketch has been the talk of the Twitch community this week. The Madden streamer admitted that he previously ran an OnlyFans account in which he performed sexual acts with other men. The scandal spread like wildfire, with opinions being split on whether it would ruin his career. Some theorized that Sketch’s sports fanbase would reject him, while other notable streamers voiced their support. Then there’s DJ Akademiks, who posed a third option. Ak actually thinks Sketch’s career will benefit from controversy.

DJ Akademiks discussed the Sketch situation on July 10. He claimed upfront that he did not watch Sketch’s content, but told the streamer to save his tears. “Let me tell you this,” Ak stated. “You just got an upgrade on your career.” The hip-hop personality proceeded to make the case for Sketch coming out as a positive given the current cultural landscape. “If you say anything that’s derogatory to gay people, you get banned anyway,” he noted. “I don’t think he’s gonna be judged. I think his career is gonna go up.” DJ Akademiks doubled down on this stance, going as far as to say that it’s “profitable” to be a streamer who is gay in 2024.

DJ Akademiks Considers The Sketch Controversy To Be A “Win”

Ak is so convinced that Sketch will benefit that he jokingly claimed he would come out if he was a white streamer. “I would be lying to y’all, saying I’m gay,” he added. “Somebody better talk to Sketch… you gay, that’s a win.” The most prominent example DJ Akademiks provided of this positive boost was the fact that he had never heard of Sketch prior to the OnlyFans leaks. He claimed that he was told about the controversy through people who work for him. “I don’t even know who the n**ga was,” he asserted.

During the stream in which he addressed his past, Sketch admitted he considered quitting. “I’ll be honest,” he told viewers. “Plan A was, and I’ll say it candidly, probably call it quits if this ever came out.” He also considered taking his own life at one point. He credited the support of his family and fellow streamers for deciding to go on with his Twitch career. “But some people saved me. Shoutout [FaZe] Banks, shoutout my parents, shoutout y’all.” Only time will tell if DJ Akademiks’ prediction will prove true. As it stands, it’s encouraging to know that Sketch will continue to stream.

Drake Has New Music Coming Soon, DJ Akademiks Alleges

Drake has had it pretty rough as of late. Overall, this is thanks to his recent beef with none other than Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick came through with some kill shots throughout the feud, and most fans believe he won. As for Drizzy, he has been left to deliver some not-so-great features. For instance, “Wah Gwan Delilah” and “U MY EVERYTHING” weren’t great. Not to mention, his Camilla Cabello features did not have the impact most were expecting.

This has led some to believe that the Drake stimulus package no longer exists. Furthermore, there are some who are a bit worried about whether or not Drizzy has what it takes to come back from his recent loss. However, it seems like his good friend DJ Akademiks is here to dispel some of those myths. In a recent stream for his fans, Akademiks came out and said that new Drake music is, indeed, on the way. Moreover, he noted that the music is fire.

What is Drake Cooking?

We doubt DJ Akademiks would ever say otherwise when it comes to Drake, although for some, this is definitely encouraging. Akademiks did not say when the new music would drop. However, we do know that Drake loves to come out with music in both the Summer and the Fall. Having said that, perhaps we will get something in the next few months. Only time will tell what Drake decides to do.

Kendrick Lamar “Not Like Us” Botting Allegations Denied By Spotify

Kendrick Lamar has one of the biggest hits in the entire world right now with “Not Like Us.” Overall, the song is everywhere and it is pretty hard to escape. However, some are fatigued by it while others were simply never amused. That said, the vast majority of hip-hop fans love the song and have been bumping it since its release on May 4th. At this stage, there is no denying just how catchy the song is, and its various Spotify records showcase what a huge hit this really is.

Interestingly enough, some have been questioning the validity of these Spotify streams. DJ Akademiks has been the main internet personality bringing these questions to light. There is this narrative that Kendrick Lamar and Spotify were in cahoots to bot streams to make the song appear bigger than it actually is. While many brushed these allegations off as ridiculous, others took them very seriously. Well, it appears as though DJ Akademiks sought to get to the bottom of things.

Kendrick Lamar Scored A Huge Hit

In the clip above, you can see that Akademiks fessed up to talking to his connect at Spotify, directly. During their conversation, the connection claimed that Spotify was not botting streams and that they never would. “I talked to my man from Spotify. […] Them Kendrick streams is real,” Ak said simply. For those who already believed Kendrick was botting streams, this probably won’t move the needle. However, for many others, this is all they needed to hear.

Let us know what you think about this response from Spotify, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that this is the last we will hear about the botting allegations? What did you make of Akademiks bringing up these allegations, in the first place? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. DJ Akademiks Claims That The Drake Stimulus Package Is Dead

DJ Akademiks has been riding for Drake for years. He’s the rapper’s biggest fan in terms of notable media personalities. That being said, Ak has faced up to some harsh truths over the last few weeks. He fears that the Kendrick Lamar battle may have permanently impacted Drake’s career. Not only in terms of reputation, which has certainly been the case, but in sales as well. The 6 God spent a decade and a half with the Midas touch, but DJ Akademiks think the era of the “Drake Stimulus Package” is over.

Ak did a live stream reaction to the music video for Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” He admitted the video was highly memorable, but it was the song’s continued chart success that led to a more serious discussion. “Not Like Us” peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and it’s still at number three. Conversely, Drake’s last few releases have underperformed, and DJ Akademiks has noticed. “Drake’s wings, slightly, feel clipped,” he noted. “The Drake Stimulus Package right now, doesn’t exist. Drake going on Camila Cabello’s track didn’t do nothing.”

DJ Akademiks Admitted That Drake’s New Song Flopped

DJ Akademiks is not wrong. Drake and Camila Cabello hyped up their duet “Hot Uptown” for months. It was positively received by fans and critics, but it also tanked on the charts. It debuted at number 92 on the Billboard Hot 100, which is unheard of for a high-profile Drake collab. “U My Everything,” the Drake and Sexyy Red song, didn’t fare much better. The song, which sampled “BBL Drizzy,” peaked at number 44. Drake and Red’s previous collab, “Rich Baby Daddy,” peaked at number 11 by comparison. That’s an enormous downshift.

DJ Akademiks also gave Kendrick Lamar his flowers after watching the “Not Like Us” video. “He did give everybody a look,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Pretty good video ngl.” Ak also recognized how big the video and the song are for hip-hop culture. “First music video people have cared about in a while.. good job Kendrick Lamar.” The internet personality even conceded that Lamar’s decision to have his fiancee, Whitney Alford, in the video, stepped on Drake’s “Family Matters” claims. “Whitney dancing and clowning Drake is hilarious lol,” he tweeted.

Wack 100 Claims Drake Is Still Safe In California Despite Kendrick Battle

Drake has been living in a “Not Like Us” world. The rapper has been drowned up by Kendrick Lamar’s number one diss record. Especially in California. Lamar’s “Pop Out” show solidified him as the king of the West Coast, and even alluded to Drake’s “California love” running out on the aforementioned song. “You think the Bay gon’ let you disrespect ‘Pac, n**ga” he spit. “That Oakland show might be your last stop, n**ga.” According to Wack 100, however, the truth is less severe.

The music executive recently went on DJ Akademiks’ live stream to discuss Drake’s California status. He told Ak that there’s a man named Wacko in Compton called for a ceasefire during the rap beef. “[He’s] a very influential dude,” Wack 100 claimed. “Impeccable track record. He’s the one that called the dog, to where [there was] no more diss records.” The executive also made note of the fact that Wacko was in the now iconic photo that Lamar took onstage during the “Pop Out” show. Wack 100 went on to explain that Wacko’s reputation allowed him to exert control over Lamar’s camp, and ensure that things go too far in the Drake conflict.

Wack 100 Says L.A. Veterans Ensured Drake’s Safety

Wack 100 then clarified what was on Ak’s and everybody’s mind. Yes, apparently Drake is fine to move around on the West Coast. “If they respect Wacko enough to communicate with him, and Kendrick and them respect Wacko,” the executive noted. “Of course Drake can come to California and L.A. and still move around. Ain’t nobody looking to do anything to Drake.” It’s worth noting that Wack 100 has been pro-Drake, and anti-Kendrick Lamar, in the past. The executive claimed that Drake was beating Lamar after the Compton emcee dropped “Euphoria.” Wack 100 felt that Lamar’s diss lacked energy, and was repetitive given what Pusha T had said about Drake in years prior.

That being said, Wack 100 changed his tune. Lamar’s subsequent releases, coupled with the “Pop Out,” made him a believer. Wack also pointed to Lamar’s co-signs as a big reason as to why Drake’s own diss, “Family Matters,” has aged poorly. “A huge L for Drake,” he admitted. The worst part about that was YG. [Drake] name-drops him. Drake can never perform that song and mention YG’s name.” Drizzy may be spiraling, but at least he’s safe.

DJ Akademiks & Vlad Believe Diddy Is About To Get Indicted

Diddy is someone who has been hit with quite a bit of legal trouble over the last year or so. Overall, it all started with a lawsuit from his ex Cassie, who accused him of sexual assault and sex trafficking. Subsequently, the music mogul was hit with other similar lawsuits and allegations. Moreover, the video of Diddy abusing Cassie in a hotel hallway has ultimately left many in a state of shock. Moving forward, there is lots of speculation as to what will happen to the mogul.

As it stands, a grand jury has been formed in the state of New York. This means the state can present evidence and a jury will decide whether or not there is enough there for an indictment. In a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, DJ Vlad came out and said that he is 99 percent sure an indictment is coming. Akademiks echoed that sentiment, noting that Diddy recently deleted everything off of his Instagram page. In their minds, this is simply a way to get ready for what’s coming.

Diddy Now Subject Of Grand Jury

Overall, it should be noted that this is simply speculation. No one knows for sure what is about to happen. However, Vlad did say that if he were Diddy, he would be fleeing the country right now. Considering Diddy’s age, Vlad thinks that may just be the best course of action right now. Only time will tell what is going to happen next. At this time, Diddy has denied the allegations against him, and appears confident that his name will be cleared.

Let us know what you think of this take from Vlad and DJ Akademiks, in the comments section down below. Do you agree that Diddy could be subjected to an indictment soon? Do you believe there is any way for Puff to get back in people’s good graces? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.
