Desiigner Enters A “Rebirth” After A Six-Year Hiatus

When Desiigner came onto the scene back in 2016 with his breakout record “Panda,” there were a lot of skeptics. Many were labeling him a blatant Future rip off and prediciting that he would become a one-hit wonder. However, thanks to songs like “Tiimmy Turner” and “Outlet,” and a feature on Kanye West’s posse cut “Champions,” he seemed to quite a handful of doubters. However, after 2018’s L.O.D. project, Desiigner would continue to fade and steadily. Things wouldn’t get any better even as of recently, as the Brooklyn rapper and singer would run into some wild legal trouble. In 2023, he would be charged for indecent exposure while on a flight back to the states from Japan.

He addressed the bizarre situation in a sit-down with Adam22 on his No Jumper platform claiming that it was due to his lack of sugar in his body due to the vegan diet he was on. He also said the medication he was on caused him to act out. Again, this left many skeptical. Based on all of this, it’s clear that Desiigner has not had the easiest of career trajectories for a while. However, it seems that he’s doing better now and back to dropping new music. He’s been releasing a lot singles, but the gap between L.O.D. and now is wide. Enter Rebirth, Desiigner’s third project. It’s a perfect title, as the East Coast act sounds focused and more mature on this concise eight-song tape. He says there’s even more music on the way, so maybe a Rebirth really is happening for him?

Tory Lanez Includes A Desiigner Collab In This Week’s Edition Of The Lost Tapes

Tory Lanez isn’t slowing down on the Lost Tapes one bit, as this week presents two 2019 cuts with one featuring Desiigner. Throughout these last couple of months, the Canadian jack of all trades has hit us with certain themes for these weekly releases. Sometimes it’s a combo of songs from a particular year. On other occasions he sticks with a certain genre. Or he will hit fans with uber-aggressive rapping or his auto-tuned R&B cuts. The latter is the case this time around, as Lanez (and Desiigner) are focusing on sex and raunchy intimacy.

“Slow Fade” is about the hitmakers’ poor dating practice tendencies, as they focus more on having a good time rather than sticking around for the long term. Conversely, “Alexandria” sees Tory hooked on a woman and how he wants to see things last. Every time Lanez drops these Lost Tapes, it’s always interesting to see what ideas he was cooking up at each time. Listening to “Alexandria” and “Slow Fade” you can certainly hear that these were created in the vein of 2018’s LoVE me NOw. 50 Cent Recalls Passing On Signing Desiigner After Learning Some Crucial Information

50 Cent is a mogul in the music world and he knows how to find talent. Overall, with his years of experience in the game, he can tell within a few minutes whether or not an artist can be a star. Consequently, when it comes to signing new talents, he has to make some pretty tough decisions. For instance, back in 2016, he decided not to sign Desiigner following his smash hit “Panda.” As we all know, Desiigner ended up signing to Kanye West and subsequently faded into obscurity.

While speaking to Gillie and Wallo on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Fif made some interesting comments about Desiigner and the mad dash that ensued to sign the star. 50 Cent says he took a meeting with him and was ready to put ink on the paper, however, when he asked Desiigner about his other songs, the artist had no answer. This is because he only had one song. Fif saw this as a massive red flag and ended up passing on the artist.

Knowing what we know now, this was probably for the best. Desiigner never became a bonafide superstar. Furthermore, he ultimately got into legal trouble when he exposed himself on a plane. When you put all of this together, it can be said that Fif dodged a bullet. While Desiigner has made attempts at a comeback, so far, they have mostly fallen short.

If you ask most casual listeners of the genre about the first time they heard “Panda” they will most likely tell you they thought it was Pluto. For a brief moment, he proved the doubters wrong. But lately Desiigner has gotten lost in the shuffle, and know he is looking to make some stylistic changes on “Big Dawg.”

That switch-up sees him trying his hand at blending country and trap music. This is not anything groundbreaking for hip-hop, but it is cool to see Desiigner experiment a bit. Country and rap crossing paths has become more popular as of late with acts like Shaboozey and JaeyBxrd making some waves. So, it makes sense to continue to push those ideas forward.

Boosie Badazz can’t seem to stop talking to VladTV. In yet another interview clip with the outlet, the rapper revealed some pretty personal information. Boosie has confessed to joining the solo mile-high club. He admitted some of his previous sexual encounters while also discussing Desiigner’s recent arrest. Authorities took the rapper into custody for allegedly exposing himself on a plane. During the interview with VladTV, Boosie learned about the accusation that Desiigner had masturbated during a recent flight. He asked if Desiigner and the flight attendant had engaged in any sexual activity, but was informed that they hadn’t. Boosie then commented that it was fortunate Desiigner had checked himself into a mental institution.

Boosie had some choice words for the San Diego police last weekend. According to reports, the Baton Rouge rapper was arrested on Saturday and taken to San Diego County Jail. He was booked on four charges, all gun-related. These include possession of a firearm as a felon, having a concealed weapon in a vehicle, owning ammunition as a prohibited person, and being an unlisted owner of a registered firearm. After being released on bond, Boosie performed in San Diego and encouraged fans to chant “f*ck San Diego police,” which was captured in a video of the crowd showing their middle fingers. Then, the rapper yelled into the mic, “Suck my d*ck, you b*tches.”

This isn’t Boosie’s first run-in with authorities. Last year, the rapper was pulled over for his window tints and a concealed tag. Then, the police found a large bag of weed in the car. “I can’t keep going through this though, bro,” he said to the cops at the time. “I just can’t, bro… don’t do no wrong… gotta go to y’all superiors and file charges, man.
