He recalled one instance when his Breakfast Club co-hosts were at an event in Houston that he didn’t attend, and Drake approached them asking about him. “[Drake] and his guys were damn sure like, ‘Where’s the third Musketeer at?’” he explained. Charlamagne went on to recall a time when he says some of Drake’s former bodyguards let him in on how the artist wanted him to be handled.

“I met these security guards one time,” he began. “This was at an iHeart music festival in Vegas — and these muthaf*ckas looked like killers. They were big super-goons. According to him, he knew a plethora of major artists before they made it big, which explains all of his A-list connections. Some commenters are calling cap on his claims, however, arguing that Birdman and Lil Wayne had already blown up by the time DJ Khaled developed a relationship with them.

“I was there when Lil Wayne met Birdman,” DJ Khaled explained. “I used to work at a record store in New Orleans called Odyssey Records and Lil Wayne used to go to the record store and I used to DJ at the record store … Birdman and them used to pull up to the record store and out the trunk bring cassettes at that time. This was before they had their deal.“

MGK seemed to be in a bit of an off mood, resulting in an awkward and confusing interview. While it’s possible that the performer was simply having a bad day, Brundle left the interview feeling as though he had certainly been kicked off of MGK’s “Christmas card list.”

When asked about his career, MGK didn’t answer for a moment, instead nodding in agreement. This prompted Brundle to repeat his question. “Oh, my career,” Machine Gun Kelly then replied. “I don’t think about my career.” He went on to give a vague complimentary explanation of F1 racing. “I think your business is great,” he said. “It’s loud, your life is on the line, and that’s exciting… I was in a studio the other week and Lewis Hamilton was in the other studio. That was nice, yeah.”

Eventually, the two of them came face to face, and Snoop Dogg apologized to Soulja Boy for his harsh words. “I met Snoop Dogg in person and he was like ‘man, my bad,’” he recalled. The Chicago native went on to describe how Snoop Dogg claimed he just didn’t “understand” the song when it first came out. Luckily, the track eventually grew on him.

While this is a position that many held about a decade ago, it isn’t as widespread as it once was. However, it seems like Glasses Malone is among the few who still see things through that lens. He just literally does what Madonna does,” Glasses Malone said. “He literally colonizes sounds and ideas. He’s not from the culture. Just because you’re Black, doesn’t mean you’re from the culture.”
