R. Kelly’s Manager Sentenced To One Year In Prison

The downfall of R. Kelly and those around him continues. His former manager, Donnell Russell is now in some legal trouble himself.

On Monday (December 19), he was sentenced to one year in prison for calling in a shooting threat four years ago.

The threat occurred in 2018, when the “Surviving R. Kelly” docuseries was set to premiere at a movie theatre in Manhattan. Prosecutors say he is the one responsible for phoning in the warning. He claimed that someone in the theatre had a gun on them and planned to open fire. As a result, the audience was subsequently evacuated.

The incriminating series outlines Kelly’s sexual abuse of women and underage girls.

Other Charges Against the Former Manager

Furthermore, the disgraced singer’s ex-manager also faces more time for his role in attempting to squash sexual abuse accusations against Kelly. In July, Russell was convicted of threatening physical harm through interstate communication. He was additionally acquitted on conspiracy charges.

A federal judge later sentenced Russell to 20 months in prison. The manager plead guilty to stalking one of the singer’s accusers. He is responsible for sending threatening messages to her, as well as posting explicit photos of her on the internet.

Authorities are expecting Russell to turn himself in next year in order to serve his time for both cases simultaneously.

Just a couple of weeks ago, a mysterious R. Kelly album frighteningly called I Admit It appeared on streaming platforms. Of course, the project immediately went viral as social media users began questioning what was going on. A rep from Sony later confirmed that it was a fake album and was released without their knowledge.

The “I Believe I Can Fly” singer is currently in prison. He’s finally set to serve 30 years for his various heinous crimes, including sex trafficking and racketeering.

Young Thug’s Brother Unfoonk Cops Plea Deal In YSL Case, Denies Snitching

The D.A. overlooking the YSL RICO case is handing out deals like a Christmas giveaway. In the last week, we’ve seen numerous individuals take deals including from Gunna and YSL co-founder, Walter Murphy. Most recently, rapper Unfoonk copped a deal.

According to documents obtained by WSBTV, Quantavious Grier, better known as Thug’s brother Unfoonk, accepted a deal in the YSL case. Grier pleaded guilty to one count of theft by receiving stolen property and one count of violating the RICO act.

As a result of the deal, Grier took a 12-year sentence with two years commuted. The judge also sentenced Grier to 10 years of probation . However, there are also a number of conditions he must follow. The most significant is that Grier can’t contact his brother until the trial is over. Additionally, he’ll have to service 750 hours of community service and abide by a curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Similar to Gunna, Grier will have to take the stand if called to testify in he YSL case, though he can invoke his Fifth Amendment right.

The news of Unfoonk’s deal caused an uproar on social media as many began accusing the rapper of cooperating with authorities. However, he quickly fired back at these allegations on his Instagram Story, denying that he’s a “snitch.”

“Damn people really think I told on my own brother SMH,” he wrote. “Show me in my paperwork I told on anybody LOL. I’m not even fenna entertain any of it, peace and blessings.”

In addition to Unfoonk, rappers Lil Duke and Slimelife Shawty copped deals recently.

Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steele, recently sat down with 11Alive. He explained the prosecutors are handing out deals in order to single out Thug and secure a conviction.

“He’s like the easy target,” Steel explained. “So, somebody gets arrested and gets in trouble and they want to deal. Law enforcement officers are all too eager to say, ‘Well, tell us about Mr. Williams. Is he involved in this? What do you know about him?’ That’s the problem with this case. It’s coming from the word of people who are getting deals to say, ‘Yeah, he was there or I saw him around or he gave the order or I heard from someone else. He gave the order.’ That’s what this case is about. Oh, you’re not going to hear any confession of Jeffrey Williams.”

Ex-Cop Aaron Dean Sentenced To Almost 12 Years In Prison For Fatally Shooting Atatiana Jefferson

In October 2019, 28-year-old Atatiana Jefferson was fatally shot in her Texas home by a police officer.

Aaron Dean, the former cop responsible for pulling the trigger, was convicted of manslaughter in Jefferson’s death last week and has now been sentenced to close to 12 years behind bars.

To be exact, Dean was given a sentence of “11 years, 10 months and 12 days” according to the Associated Press. He was facing up to 20 years behind bars prior to the sentencing.

Jefferson’s neighbor reached out to a nonemergency number in 2019 and later noted that her door had been left open. At trial, it was revealed that she opened it to clear the air after her 8-year-old nephew Zion burned hamburgers. The pair had been playing video games together on the night of the shooting.

According to body camera footage, Dean and another officer didn’t announce that they were the police when they approached the home. With his gun drawn, he shouted at Jefferson to show him her hands and immediately after opened fire through her window, claiming that he saw her pointing a gun in his direction.

Jefferson’s nephew offered testimony in court, saying that his aunt retrieved a gun after thinking that an intruder was near her home.

Following Tuesday’s sentencing, Jefferson’s sister Ashley Carr attended a news conference at her sister’s former home. Carr reportedly revealed that she wanted the ex-Forth Worth officer to receive more time.

“Eleven years, that’s the same age as Zion,” Carr stated. “Ten months, 12 days, that’s the day that it happened. It’s a message in this. It might not be the message that we wanted and the whole dream, but it’s some of it.”

Lil Wayne Sued By Former Personal Chef

Lil Wayne is nearly three decades into his decorated career as one of the undisputed greatest rappers of all time.

At this point, nothing surrounding the 40-year-old hitmaker should really come as a surprise.

In the most recent news about the “Lollipop” rapper, he’s now facing a lawsuit. It comes from Morghan Medlock, who formerly worked as his personal chef.

According to a report from TMZ, Medlock is accusing the New Orleans native of various different unlawful practices. The alleged injustices include wrongful termination and retaliation.

It all began when she was in Las Vegas for a trip with Weezy and his crew during Memorial Day weekend earlier this year. Upon getting a call notifying her that her 10-year-old son was in the hospital after sustaining a head injury, Medlock obviously needed to get back to her home in L.A.

However, she claims that the Young Money rapper is responsible for delaying the flight back because he was too busy smoking on the aircraft. She subsequently chose to catch a different flight home instead.

Although she notified Tunechi’s assistant and even tried getting back to work after dealing with the situation, she claims she was terminated.

She’s supposedly seeking a minimum payment of $500,000 from the “Lollipop” rapper for the wrongdoing.

Prior to the news of the legal situation, Wayne was recently seen in good spirits, as he usually is.

During his appearance on ESPN for Monday Night Football last night (December 19), he reacted to Eli Manning’s rapping skills.

After playing the hip-hop legend a humorous video of his remix of Fivio Foreign’s “1 On 3,” he was all smiles. “I didn’t know what was going on. I saw the Cuban around your neck. I’m glad I actually saw a video of what that was all about. But you killed it. You killed it. Yeah, you killed that,” he tells Manning.

Young Thug Associates Offered Deals To Boost D.A.’s Case: Report

As fans celebrate Gunna’s release from jail, Young Thug remains incarcerated. The rappers were arrested at the top of the year along with two dozen others alleged to be their associates. Authorities claimed that Thugger, Gunna, and their alleged crew were a part of the YSL street gang. Yet, attorneys for both rappers contested YSL is no more than a record label.

Reporter George Chidi has been regularly keeping the world updated on this RICO case. On Twitter, Chidi shares why D.A. Fani Willis is more concerned with figures who allegedly were ringleaders of the criminal street gang. This may be why we’re seeing several people released as Thugger continues to fight for his freedom.

“My read here is that the DA will deal out (almost) everyone else if it means improving their chances of convicting Young Thug,” Chidi reported.

“The operating philosophy as described to me by a ADA is to ask ‘absent this person, would this crime still happen?’ If the answer is yes, cut a deal.” He added, “If the gang targeted someone for shooting, who pulled the trigger is less important to Willis’ office than who turned on the green light.”

Chidi said that he’s “surprised at the deals” being made, stating that the D.A.’s office sees Thugger as “the shot caller.” There has been speculation that Young Thug is behind bars telling his associates to agree to plea deals so he can take the charges.

“Thug doesn’t have leverage,” said Chidi. “Also, if Thug and Brian Steel go down, they will go down fighting.”

U Of Idaho Murder Investigation Leads Police To Eugene, Oregon To Search Vehicle

Some are starting to believe that last month’s shocking murder investigation at the University of Idaho has gone cold. However, new updates continue to surface as police search for answers regarding the mysterious deaths of Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin.

Over the weekend, several videos circulating online made headlines as suspicion began to build around an unknown man named Adam. In a new video, two of the victims walk through downtown Moscow. As they make their way down the street, they gossip about telling the man “everything.” Strolling with them is a male figure previously seen in another video of the girls at a food truck.

According to TMZ, Adam is now known to be a local bartender. He has no involvement in the investigation in any way at this time.

While that lead was a dead end, authorities have thankfully been led to another clue – located all the way in Eugene, Oregon. In the city that’s nearly 500 miles away, a white Hyundai Elantra has been found. Additionally, there was a person sleeping inside of it.

The local police department received a call over the weekend about the vehicle. Officers promptly responded to the scene and made contact with the individual inside. Afterward, no further report was made.

Oregon cops are in contact with those in Moscow regarding the vehicle, which was brought up previously in press conferences. After scoping out various surveillance footage, Idaho police told the public that they were searching for a car of the same make and model.

Currently, they’re working to see if there’s any connection between the Hyundai and their ongoing murder investigation.

In other recent updates, a police officer’s body cam video captured on the same night of the slayings appears to include a chilling scream in the background. Check that out here, and tap back in with HNHH later for any updates. RIP.

According to TMZ, it all began when a police officer noticed a broken-down BMW car blocking a road. Upon investigating and taking Ray’s information, he says he discovered a number of outstanding warrants. The “Paperwork Party” rapper was subsequently arrested.

The charges include improper possession of a weapon, driving with a suspended license and missing a child custody court appearance. They are all just misdemeanours.

The report from TMZ further indicates that the car is brand new. Ray had allegedly just driven it off of the lot.

Chika Comes For 50 Cent After He Disses Megan Thee Stallion

When something big is happening in the hip-hop world, you can almost bet that 50 Cent will have something to say about it on social media. Of course, the ongoing Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion trial is no exception.

Over the weekend, the Power producer correspondingly hopped on Twitter to share a post comparing the Houston rap diva to Jussie Smollett. The actor previously found himself on trial for a messy scheme he put together, making himself look like the victim of a racist attack.

“Damn I’m confused, all this shit going around,” Fif wrote alongside the image. “I don’t know what to think. LOL.”

The “Candy Shop” rapper is facing undeniably considerable backlash for his comments. Specifically, “HICKORY DICKORY” hitmaker Chika spoke out on her own profile, condemning him for using his platform so irresponsibly. “If you took even a second to read through the court proceedings, it wouldn’t be so confusing,” she first said.

“As a figure in hip-hop, you should be responsible with how you use your platform. Targeting a victim of a shooting ain’t it and never will be,” the recording artist continued. “I think you know that 9x over,” she added, referencing 50’s own history with gun violence.

In her next post, Chika went on, “There is literally no reason to believe that a story that hasn’t changed and came out involuntarily is untrue.”

She showed plenty of sympathy for Megan, writing, “I cannot imagine being @theestallion and having to see grown ass men cape for another not-so-grown ass man whose ego caused him to assault her with a deadly weapon.”

Additionally, Chika predicts that Lanez will receive a charge in the ongoing proceedings. “You n*ggas can unkindly f*ck off and talk about something that can be expressed at the 2.3 reading level you possess,” she later snapped at the New Yorker.

“It’s tired, it’s triggering, it’s f*ckin disgusting, and it needs to STOP. Y’all been at it for two years. Your Leprechaun King is getting convicted. Period.”

Furthermore, Chika believes that Black men should be “holding Megan up” during this time. “Instead you’ve chosen to stay silent and only speak when your baseless disbelief can be used to discredit her. Literally, F*CK you.”

Next, the 25-year-old explicitly hit 50 Cent with some harsh words regarding his past with Kanye West. “You dismissing senseless violence towards a woman while posting shit on Instagram every time you get into your p*ssy ass feelings about a grown man typing out something YOU dislike. N*gga, take a nap!” she told him. “You retired bc Kanye outsold and even HE ain’t worth a damn. Both bitches.”

Read what else Chika had to say in her rant to Fif below. Afterward, check out the latest from Tory Lanez’s trial here.

YGG Tay Charged In A Federal Murder Conspiracy

A Baltimore rapper known as YGG Tay is facing charges that a federal grand jury alleges tie together a number of crimes in the city over the years.

The rapper, whose real name is Davante Harrison, has been indicted on racketeering conspiracy charges. Authorities are also accusing him of a number of other crimes surrounding murders and gang activity.

Among these crimes is the fatal shooting of a mother and sister of a man who accused Harrison of cooperating with authorities. The accusations also tie him to the Black Guerrilla Family, which is a prison gang that primarily operates in Maryland and California.

His relations with the gang date back as far as 2014, when he is allegedly responsible for supplying heroin and cocaine to “street-level drug shops.”

Furthermore, the indictment accuses Harrison of paying a gang member $10,000 that same year. Prosecutors also say he is responsible for making the payment in exchange for the killing of a 21-year-old. The victim supposedly owed him money from drugs stemming from an earlier exchange.

YGG Tay is one of the most successful and well-known rappers in the city of Baltimore. Releasing songs like “War” and “Go Getter,” his YouTube videos consistently rack up hundreds of thousands of views.

However, his legal trouble has long stood in the way of his career.

Among the other people facing charges in this case is David Warren, a notorious hitman. The 30-year-old has beaten 10 attempted murder charges over the past 16 years.

Warren and Harrison are alleged to have linked up beginning in 2018. According to The Baltimore Banner, “The indictment says Warren sought to endear himself to Harrison and rise in his inner circle by carrying out violence.”

Additionally, federal authorities say that Harrison’s first payment to Warren in exchange for a killing was in 2013. Targeting a fellow BGF member, who allegedly robbed Harrison’s home, the man was subsequently shot.

Prosecutors say they have proof from a text message that Warren is responsible.

YGG Tay is currently serving a 15-year sentence for other federal drug and gun charges, beginning in 2019.

Make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates on this situation.

Wack 100 Checks DJ Akademiks Over Gunna Snitching Allegations

It’s been less than a week since Gunna’s release from jail after taking a plea deal.

As the story and YSL’s RICO case as a whole continue to develop, many big names are weighing in on social media.

Last Thursday (December 15), 6ix9ine took to his Instagram account to publicly accuse the “Drip Too Hard” rapper of snitching in order to get out of jail.

The “KEKE” rapper’s manager, Wack 100 is now speaking out as well, sharing the same sentiments as his artist.

In an Instagram post yesterday (December 19), Wack shared his thoughts on Gunna taking the plea deal. He directly calls out DJ Akademiks in the process.

“@akademiks Stop bro … His statements were clearly on the RECORD … And the whole “DEFENSE” was #YSL IS NOT I REPEAT IS NOT A GANG JUST A RECORD LABEL… YOU HIM OR THEM CANT REWRITE THE LAWS OF #SNITCHING. CO-OPERATION WITH THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY MAKES U A CO OPERANT WHICH EQUALS #Telling,” he wrote.

His post comes after Akademiks shared screenshots of a conversation with Gunna’s attorney, Steve Sadow.

In the screenshots, the media personality asks Sadow if he can “publicly address how Gunna’s viral ‘yes ma’am video affects Thug and YSL if at all?”

“Doesn’t effect anyone but my client. Out of court statements at a plea hearing cannot come into evidence against someone else,” the attorney replies. He then confirms his consent for Akademiks to share this conversation online.

Sadow has been extremely busy since his client’s release, insisting that there is no authenticity behind the rumors.

However, it seems as though Wack and 6ix9ine aren’t buying it.

“Gunna did not snitch to get out of jail. He has said nothing and is not cooperating. His plea statement cannot be used in court against any other defendant. So please stop spreading lies!!!” the attorney wrote in an Instagram post on December 15.

Additionally, Sadow says that the Georgie native plans to plead the 5th if he’s called to testify against his YSL crew.

On the other hand, Thugger’s attorney, Brian Steel, is speaking out about how these plea deals affect his client. He says that these deals being offered to other members of YSL indicate that the “Best Friend” rapper is evidently being targeted.

Based on the information that we have, what do you think about the situation? Can the snitching rumors finally be put to rest? As always, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates.
