Troy Ave & Taxstone Beef Over Testifying In Trial

Rapper Troy Ave and former podcaster Taxstone just stared a Twitter beef over the latter’s criminal trial. For those of you who don’t remember, Taxstone stands accused of involvement in a 2016 Irving Plaza shooting in New York City that took the life of Ave’s bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter. On Thursday (March 9), Taxstone wrote a tweet that many believed took aim at Troy Ave testifying in his case. Afterwards, the New York rapper responded in kind and let off some Twitter subliminals of his own to fuel the fire.

“Can’t wait for this delusional lying ass bozo to testify on Monday !!!” Taxstone fired off on Thursday. Then, Ave took the jab as a shot and replied. “A call to action is crazy. ‘I can’t wait’ Said the person with nothing but time… his friends cooked him VERY WELL DONE! I might jus bring the dessert , wat kind y’all want #UnSafeTho#BeSmartTho.” In another tweet, he inexplicably asked former President Barack Obama for help. “Dear @POTUS44 this Hater tryna frame the murder of MY FRIEND on Me. I’m innocent I boomed @ the hater off self defense! His Mans Caswell & Malcolm ate the [cheese] on him already! My new album gon be called ‘DEAR HATER I WON’ pre order uP MONDAY!”

Twitter Beef Over Testifying Ensues

Later, Taxstone seemed to retort against the 37-year-old in some more subliminal messages via Twitter. “Rejecting self reflection at any cost,” he began his series of reflections. “Lowlifes think the most highly of themselves. Keeping their face far from mirrors but placing them in front of everyone else’s face. Sometimes we get lost and have to find ourselves but never forget to self reflect.” What’s more is that even Taxstone’s attorney confirmed that Troy Ave is expected to testify in his trial.

With all this in mind, it will be interesting to see how Taxstone’s trial progresses on Monday. Twitter beef is one thing, but if such antagonism comes into the courtroom, it could spell trouble for either party. Hopefully the trial’s outcome doesn’t become part of more social media antics. Regardless, check out the tweets below and stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Taxstone and Troy Ave.

Is Kodak Black On His Way To Jail…Again?

Kodak Black has had a share of his challenges throughout his career. He has found himself behind bars multiple times. And it looks like he may be at it again. We hope not as we never want to see a young superstar like Yak put his life in jeopardy.

We are rooting for the Kutthroat Bill rapper to turn his life around. He has a family, is a leader in his community, and has a tremendous influence in Hip Hop today. Will Kodak Black go back to prison? Here’s a few reasons why he may escape jail time.

Drug Rehab

Last week, Kodak Black was ordered to attend a drug rehabilitation program after fentanyl was found in his system.  Although he was able to attend Rolling Loud in Los Angeles, this past weekend, the “Super Gremlin” rapper reported to rehab on March 8th.  After missing a mandatory court-ordered drug test last month, Broward County Judge Barbara Duffy issued a warrant for Kodak’s arrest.

The Florida rapper’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, believes the urine test of his client was a false positive.  Throughout his relationship with Kodak, Cohen says he has never tested positive for fentanyl and has already gone through treatment for similar issues in the past.  Cohen also suggests that a lab employee could’ve made an error while handling his client’s file because of his status.

In response to this, Judge Duffy opted for a hair sample from the “ZEZE” rapper, to which he declined.  This is when the Judge ordered him to attend an in-patient rehab facility, but Kodak didn’t seem to mind.  He had other things to worry about, like getting a jolly rancher before heading out.

If Kodak can successfully complete rehab, then surely Judge Duffy will notice his efforts and keep him out of jail.

Yak Needs This Team

Good thing, the 25-year-old rapper has good influences around him this time around.  During Kodak’s time at Rolling Loud, his team helped him stay clear of all drugs.  His team also wanted him to focus on his health over the weekend as a physician monitored his meals.  Staying clean and sober before rehab was the only goal for Yak and his team.  Also, to help him stay on the straight and narrow path, the court tagged the “Wake Up In The Sky” rapper with a GPS ankle monitor.  He wore the monitor while performing.

It was a successful performance for Yak, even though at one point a fan threw a water bottle at him.  If he can always keep this team around him, I don’t see Kodak going to jail.

Kodak is Too Busy For Jail

Yak has had his ups and downs thus far in his career.  The Back for Everything rapper is busy these days and that could be in his favor.  At Rolling Loud, he announced that he is opening his own chicken wing company.  Kodak calls it “Kodak’s Wings” and festival attendees were able to try some of his wings at the three day festival.  The official launch is set to be later this year.  “Kodak’s Wings” will serve dishes such as wing and fry combos and chicken tender baskets.

Not only does he have business ventures, but he also has to work.  With Yak behind bars, he will be missing out on shows as he was tapped for the Broccoli City Festival.  The D.C.-based event will be held from July 15-16.  We all know Kodak loves to perform for his fans after earlier this year when he missed a performance.  Video surfaced of him pleading with the venue to let him perform as he even offered to pay.

A few weeks ago, the “King Snipe” rapper revealed he is enrolled at Arizona State University.  After receiving his GED in jail, Yak wanted to continue his education.  Going to jail right now shouldn’t be in Kodak’s plans.

Uncle Trump Has His Back

If Kodak Black is on the verge of going to jail, I believe Donald Trump will help him out.  It seems like the two have a bit of respect for each other.  Before Trump’s presidency came to an end, he granted Kodak clemency, in which he was able to be released from prison.  The main reason the ex-President did this was because of Kodak’s donations to enrich the education sector in his community.

In celebration of his pardon, the Sniper Gang CEO had a ring made with the words “Trump Ties” on one side and the date he was pardoned on the other side.  Kodak calls him “Uncle Trump” now and even purchased a near $10,000 pendant of the former host of The Apprentice.  The pendant depicts the 45th President smoking weed while wearing his infamous red MAGA hat.  Yak remains connected to Trump as mentioned before, he is represented by Bradford Cohen.  Cohen is a friend and supporter of Trump appearing on The Apprentice in 2004.

Kodak makes sure he stays on Trump’s good side.  After Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime performance, the 76 year old entrepreneur went to his own social platform, Truth Social, to say that it was the “worst half-time show in history”.  Black went to Instagram to post a video affirming Trump’s statements.  Fans weren’t too happy with him doing so, but the young man knows how to play his hand.

Let us know if you think Kodak Black will stay on the straight and narrow path after rehab in the comments.

Birdman Updates Fans On B.G. Prison Release: He’ll “Be Home In A Minute”

Birdman just provided an update on when Hot Boys member B.G. will see his prison release. Moreover, this is the latest in a long string of legal struggles behind bars for the rapper. Not only have his requests faced denials multiple times, but pressure from other rappers and pop culture figures doesn’t seem to make a dent. Still, at least there are people like the Cash Money boss in his corner to keep fans posted on his status. Most recently, the Atlanta kingpin took to Instafgram to share a picture of B.G. and an update.

“Be home in a minute,” Birdman wrote in his caption, corresponding to a simple picture of the rapper. “Heart of tha streets @new_bghollyhood #CCRG #Cashmoneymillionaire @cashmoneyofficial.” For those unaware, B.G. currently serves a 14-year prison sentence set for its end in April of 2024. Of course, this also isn’t the first time that Birdman in particular hinted at his freedom. Last year, a video went around on social media showing Bird paying a visit to him at the Federal Correctional Institution in Herlong, California.

Birdman Gives Update On B.G.’s Prison Release

Unfortunately, all of the rapper’s petitions for early release were denied by court and law enforcement authorities. While Birdman and other colleagues continued to claim and hint at his prompt exit, it seems nothing could shift the court. At the tail end of September last year, a U.S. District Judge rejected a motion to commute his sentence. Curiously, said request didn’t come from B.G., but rather another federal prisoner. However, further investigation and deliberation revealed that the letter was just meant to advocate for B.G. after his dissatisfaction with how his attorney handled a previous motion for compassionate release.

Still, many in the hip-hop community, especially those close to Cash Money, haven’t forgotten about B.G. For example, Gucci Mane said late last year that he’s giving $1 million to the incarcerated rapper once he gets out of jail. Even though these court struggles and failed requests are disheartening, hopefully he receives a warm welcome upon his release. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest updates on B.G. and Birdman.

Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty Suddenly Sick, Can’t Attend Mediation With Assault Accuser

Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty suddenly became sick ahead of his mediation with the woman who accused him of sexual assault. Moreover, their attorney Steven D. Isser asked Judge James R. Cho to move said proceeding to March 24. Previously, the mediation was scheduled for March 6 and then March 9, but faced last-minute cancelations on both occasions due to Petty’s health. Furthermore, readers likely remember Minaj’s husband’s high-profile assault case and various problems with the sex offender registry. According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, though, the case is slightly on hold for now.

The documents show that the court ordered all parties to mediation and subsequently postponed it due to health concerns. “We respectfully request that the Court extend the mediation deadline to March 24, 2023,” said Isser. “[This] will hopefully be sufficient time for Mr. Petty to recover and the for parties and the Mediator to schedule a mutually available date for the mediation. Thank you for your attention to this matter.” At the moment, it’s unclear whether such requests received open arms or significant pushback.

Authorities convicted Petty of first-degree attempted sexual assault in 1995. Afterwards, he served over four years in prison but continued to face legal troubles and skeletons in the closet. For example, his accuser Jennifer Hough claimed that both Petty and Minaj harassed, threatened, and intimidated her following her testimonies. While she dropped the “Super Freaky Girl” rapper in the case, Petty still stands as a defendant. With this in mind, the case now revolves mostly around Petty’s handling of the case overall.

Meanwhile, he also faced charges of failing to register as a sex offender in California. Furthermore, a judge sentenced him to one year of house arrest and three years of probation back in July. However, he sought to push back against his sex offender status in New York, claiming that the state unrightfully placed him on a registry. Whether his illness played a larger role in this case and its postponement remains to be determined. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest news on Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty.

Adin Ross Gets “Swatted” Multiple Times, LAPD Responds

Popular YouTuber and streamer Adin Ross got “swatted” multiple times recently, so much so that the LAPD responded. For those of you who don’t know, “swatting” refers to the practice of calling the police about a shooting or high-risk event that would prompt a SWAT team or law enforcement to arrive at a property. What makes these calls “swatting” is that they are completely false and only done to prank a content creator or celebrity. For example, Lil Wayne woke up one night to find police in his Miami mansion due to a false call.

In fact, this situation became so frequent for Ross that officials told TMZ they’d change responses to calls regarding him. Before sending patrol cars and helicopters, police will contact his security team first. Hopefully a revised confirmation method will result in the content creator being more at peace. However, following a Twitch streaming ban and multiple public controversies, that peace seems harder to find than ever. One instance of his reproached behavior is his continued support of Andrew Tate, whose misogynist views garnered much criticism online.

Adin Ross Gets Swatted Too Often For The LAPD’s Taste

Regardless, swatting is serious business and can even result in severe injury, punishment, or loss of life. Tragically, an innocent man passed away after he faced a swatting incident in his home. Reportedly, he fought with another player over a Call of Duty match and his opponent made the call to send police to his home. What’s more is that it’s affected multiple celebrities to varying degrees, whether it’s unearthed information or simply disturbing their well-being and sense of security. Still, at least in Adin Ross’s case, he still has quite the huge following despite these bumps in the road and controversies.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old’s antics and proximity to the rap world even resulted in a few conflicts and disses. For example, YoungBoy dissed the streamer after he allegedly liked Adin’s girlfriend’s Instagram picture and the YouTuber clapped back. “Tell that YouTuber or streamer, whatever he is,” YB rapped in a song snippet. “Stop playin’ with me, b***h / You ain’t man like that, know them gunnas layin’ with me, b***h / I ain’t got no Instagram, no social media, I wasn’t talkin’ to yo b***h / Ugly a**, y’all disgustin’, you n***as make me sick.” Regardless of that exchange, come back to HNHH for the latest on Adin Ross.

Nas EBK Arrested For Second-Degree Murder

Authorities recently arrested Bronx rapper Nas EBK for second-degree murder in relation to a Times Square shooting. Moreover, officials previously arrested the MC on charges of terroristic threats following a YouTube prank video in New Jersey. After that incident, it seems like New York police detectives caught up to investigations into that Times Square shootout, which resulted in one casualty. Furthermore, these allegations are particularly worrisome given current tensions between the city of New York and hip-hop. EBK is part of the drill scene in New York, which at this point has a contentious relationship with government and law enforcement.

While the Bronx rapper released plenty of music in his career so far, it seems like he gets more attention for his antics. However, that hasn’t stopped him from promoting and advocating for himself on social media. For example, he just posted on Instagram regarding this recent arrest. His photo simply has the text:
“INNOCENT!!” Then, he captioned the post with a message for fans. “ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE ME !!! BE HOME SOON !! FREE DA GUYS !!” In other posts, he teased new music coming soon and said he’ll be out in no time.

Bronx Rapper Nas EBK Arrested For Murder From Alleged Times Square Shooting

However, the rapper is also quite well-known as a YouTuber. In fact, it was his YouTube antics pranking civilians at a Shoprite in New Jersey that led to his last arrest. During a video with fellow content creator Buba100x, they harassed regular people at said Shoprite. When an employee got into an altercation with the pair, EBK pulled out what appeared to be a knife from his pocket. “Walk toward me again and I’ll violate you,” he threatened. Allegedly, he proceeded to kick the worker and quickly exit the store.

This most recent arrest should pose more questions and threats in an already tense musical scene. While many might point a finger of blame at New York drill artists themselves, many ignore the conditions and antagonizing that can exacerbate crime. Even though it’s a tough conversation, it’s clear that drill music as an art form is not to blame for individual actions and systemic circumstances of poverty and violence. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Nas EBK.

Andrew Tate Potentially Incriminated Himself In Jail Call

New reports online suggest that Andrew Tate potentially incriminated himself in a jail phone call during his human trafficking case. Moreover, the main source for these reports is a video from account Lawyers For Workers. In said clip, the lawyer alleges that a source close to Tate revealed that the controversial influencer might’ve messed up on the record. For those of you unaware, Romanian authorities arrested Tate and his brother in late December of last year on charges of assault and human trafficking.

While these reports are unofficial at the moment, he spoke often of his malicious and illegal activities, so it’s not exactly a surprise. Still, the lawyer explained the alleged situation in a video posted by No Jumper to Instagram. “We got a credible report of Andrew Tate doing some really dumb things,” the lawyer began. “So, he’s in Romanian prison, lock-up, detention, waiting for his trial. Like in the United States, they let you make calls. Like in the United States, they monitor your calls… anything you say can and will be used against you.

Andrew Tate Might’ve Incriminated Himself While In Jail

“The reports are that this guy did two outrageously out of bounds things on jail calls,” he continued. “So often, jail calls is what gets people screwed. They end up admitting stuff that gets them charged with the crime or they start committing whole new crimes. In this guy’s case, first, there’s only a list of people that he’s allowed to call. The reports are that he called people on the approved list, but then they patched in other third parties.

“That could be its own crime, certainly not going to help his attempts to get out on bond,” the lawyer went on. “Big trouble, if you ask me. Number two- this is actually the real problem. They’re saying he’s on jail calls discussing with another individual bribing two Romanian public officials.” However this case ends up developing, Tate continues to be outspoken and boastful online. Recently, he addressed rumors that he was battling lung cancer in a bizarre tweet. Regardless of your take, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Andrew Tate.

Jay-Z’s Cannabis Company Accused Of Weed Smuggling In New Lawsuit: Report

Jay-Z’s cannabis company Monogram is accused of weed smuggling and inaccurate financial reports. According to a report from Lester Black for SF Gate, Cathi Clay, the former president of The Parent Company (TPCO), who produces Monogram products, made the allegations last month in a lawsuit filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court. Clay accused TPCO of harassment and gender discrimination before going after her for exposing their alleged violations. TPCO currently owns 11 retail stores with over 650 employees, per SEC.

Clay claimed TPCO violated cannabis regulations and filed inaccurate financial reports. However, she claimed the executives eventually began to treat her worse. She said once she warned them that the 2021 and 2022 financial filings submitted to the SEC contains “outright inaccuracies in the financial records.” She accused TPCO of illegally shipping cannabis from California to New York for Jay-Z. Clay said the TPCO executives shipped marijuana “to New York for a Monogram event with Shawn Carter.” Though California and New York have established legal markets, it’s a federal felony to move cannabis across state lines. Additionally, California strictly restricts cannabis companies from shipping marijuana outside of the state.

Jay-Z’s Monogram Lawsuit

So far, a representative for Jay-Z nor Roc Nation issued a response to the lawsuit. However, a spokesperson for TPCO denied that Clay’s allegations contained any truth to them. “The company does not comment on active litigation and plans to defend itself strongly against the false accusations,” the spokesperson said. However, Clay’s attorney said that “have concrete irrefutable proof of each allegation in the Complaint,” though they said they were “not comfortable sharing evidence at the early stage of this litigation.”

Jay-Z’ announced the Monogram brand in 2020, marking his first release since he partnered with Caliva the year before. The high-end cannabis company leaned heavily into hip-hop, as he tapped N.O.R.E., 2 Chainz, Curren$y, Tinashe, and more for its unveiling. However, Jay also used the company as a means to raise awareness surrounding outdated cannabis laws that have left many people incarcerated for years. The luxe brand boasts flower and pre-rolls that range from $40-$70. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding the lawsuit.

Quando Rondo Suffers Heartbreaking Loss

Rapper Quando Rondo is mourning the loss of yet another close friend, adding to the tragedy he suffered a while back with his late friend Lul Pab. It was after Lul Pab’s passing that Quando Rondo made the decision to quit his affiliation with gang activity. The rapper took to social media to express his grief and pay tribute to his friend. Both Quando and Lul were caught in a shootout that led to the latter’s death, while Quando witnessed the whole incident. Understandably, he took that incident as a sign to back off from his dangerous habits.

Due to the last year, Quando is making a lot of changes in his life. He dropped new music, proposed to his girlfriend, and cut a lot of ties. He remains fiercely loyal to Lul Pab, and actively calls out those he feels are being disloyal to his friend. Among all of this, however, it has now come out that Quando Rondo is in mourning again. While the identity of his friend still remains a mystery, Quando’s heartbreak is apparent. The rapper has taken to social media and music to express his anguish over his lost friends.

Quando Rondo In Mourning

Fans and fellow artists have come forward to offer their condolences to Quando Rondo. Additionally, many are sharing messages of love and support on social media. The rapper’s followers have also praised him for being open and honest about his emotions. Quando’s fans also acknowledge and respect his ability to use his platform to raise awareness about the impact of violence within communities. Apart from his recent loss, Quando is no stranger to losing his friends. Until the passing of Lul Pab, Quando had been caught up in multiple gang-related activities.

However, not every person feels compelled to support the rapper in his difficult time. Former fans of King Von are quick to point out his connections with those responsible for King’s death. Currently, Quando Rondo spends his time making music connecting with other musicians. He currently has new music coming out, which makes references to a number of his late friends.

Julia Fox’s Dad, Brother Arrested In NYPD Ghost Guns Raid, Narcotics Seized: Report

Usually, Julia Fox commands attention due to her odd fashion choices or controversial commentary. Her fly-by-night romance with Kanye West was the talk of the world, and she’s a socialite who jet-sets from one end of the globe to another, often at coveted runway shows. However, she’s at the center of a scandal after reports stated her brother and father were arrested in New York. The public is shocked by the allegations.

According to ABC 7 News in New York, the police department’s Ghost Gun Team made a huge recovery. If you’re unfamiliar, “ghost guns” are illegal firearms or privately made kits (like a 3D printer) that create such weapons. These guns don’t have any traceable markings, including serial numbers, making crimes challenging to investigate for authorities. In this raid, the actress’s brother Christopher Fox and father, Samuel Fox, were detained. However, only the younger Fox was charged.

The investigation launched after someone gave the police an anonymous tip about suspicious packages. The raid proved to be lucrative after police found “found illegal guns, pills, a pill press, pressure cookers, fentanyl, chloroform, heroin, propane, formaldehyde, and materials often used to make explosives.” In a previous interview, ABC 7 reported Julia Fox once described her brother as a “mad scientist” who makes 3D prints.

Christopher was charged with “criminal possession of controlled substance, manufacture of a machine gun, manufacture of a rapid fire modified device, manufacture of a dangerous instrument, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of drug paraphilia.” He reportedly doesn’t have a prior criminal record. It is unclear when he will appear in court for his arraignment.

The NYPD Releases A Statement, Julia Fox Is Silent

Investigators also released a statement about the bust. “The NYPD will continue to fight relentlessly against illegal guns – against both the steady proliferation of traditionally-manufactured firearms and the increasingly prevalent numbers of illegal, untraceable but fully functioning weapons known as ghost guns.” Further, Fox has yet to comment on her family’s legal troubles.
