Young Thug, Travis Scott, Future & Lil Baby Still “Locked In” The Studio Making “The Best Music”

Now that Young Thug is a free man, fans wonder when he will drop new music. While we don’t know anything for sure just yet, it seems like he’s very hard at work, as Southside and Wheezy recently spoke in an interview on how they, Thugger, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, and Future are working together and cooking up collabs nonstop these days. Fans learned that they hit the studio earlier in November, and it seems like they haven’t left.

“It was like one of them nights where all the homies under one roof in one room,” Wheezy remarked. “Just Supreme Team, like, real deal superheroes. We had Trav, we got Pluto, Wham… And the one and only, King Spider. Under one roof, man, we just making the best music of our time. Like I said at the beginning of the video, like, real deal superhero group, super producers. We just locked in the studio doing, like, 20 songs a night. Like, real deal. Not even exaggerating. […] Yeah, and then the way this s**t going, you know, Free Thugger, man, he out. Thug free, it’s just like, that… It just was one of them nights, bro. And we’ve been doing it three nights in a row, that’s what’s so crazy. We getting up doing this s**t.”

Wheezy & Southside On Young Thug & Company’s “Locked In” Status

Of course, this is very exciting for Young Thug’s comeback in particular, but we’re sure that the other artists involved got plenty of sauce. Lil Baby has not one, but two albums coming up in 2025, whereas Future proved that he can pull out a dominant year whenever with his triple threat 2024. As for Travis Scott, he’s teased new music as well, but we don’t have a specific timeline and we know that his releases can feel more like events.

With all this in mind, trap fans can’t wait to hear what Young Thug, Travis Scott, Future, and Lil Baby cooked up with the help of Wheezy, Southside, and others. There’s a lot of pressure and expectation for some real-deal bangers, but we’ll see what the direction sounds like. Either way, it will surely be a very celebratory moment.

Fat Joe Recalls Exhausting And Bizarre Studio Session With Kanye West

Fat Joe is the biggest fan of his own music – as any artist should be – but even he had his doubts about how some of his big hits came together. Moreover, he recently spoke to GQ for their Iconic Tracks series, where he gave some insight into his 2012 collab with Kanye West (along with many other MCs), “Pride N Joy.” Specifically, Joey Crack reflected on how Ye made him re-record his verse an exhausting amount of times in order to get his perfect desired cadence for a particular line during Joe’s part. Given all we know about the Chicago artist, this perfectionism, dedication, and eccentricity is no surprise.

“’Pride N Joy’ was a hit,” Fat Joe recalled about his 2012 Kanye West collab. “It was coming right after ‘Another Round.’ Rico Love had the hot pen. It was a hit, and Bink had did the beat. And then Kanye had heard it. He was like, ‘Yo, I want to do something to it, let’s work together.’ At the time, Kanye could not lose. […] He made me do my verses — same verse, but say it over and over — maybe 300 times.

Fat Joe Speaks On Kanye West Collab

“My guys wanted to beat him up,” Fat Joe continued concerning Kanye West. “They was, like, ‘Yo, come on, man f**k out of here with this.’ He would be, like, ‘cul-der-sac.’ He would leave. […] He’d come back. ‘Cul-der-sac.’ […] I loved the finished product. I love how my verses came out. […] He’s a tough one. But it was an honor to work with him. He’s my favorite rapper of the last half of my whole career. To this day, he’s the only guy I compare my music to. […] Anything Kanye do, I’m with.”

Meanwhile, Fat Joe recently reflected on another one of his biggest 2010s hits, “All The Way Up,” and seemingly threw shade at Chance The Rapper while speaking on the song’s loss to “No Problem” at the 2017 Grammy Awards. So that pride can sometimes turn into a more seemingly negative narrative, but at the same time, it’s this passion, confidence, and satisfaction that also makes him look back at his Kanye West studio session quite fondly.

DDG Reacts To Catching Stray From Kendrick Lamar Affiliate Hitta J3 After Tory Lanez’s Drake Support

Earlier this week, DDG dropped off his new EP, Handling Business. The project features a verse from Tory Lanez, who decided to take the opportunity to show his support for Drake. “I be up praying and waiting for the day that n***as come for me the way they did Drizzy / I got the card in the wallet, and big brodie’s problems are my problems, so f**k how you feelin’ about it / Brodie gone stand on his own, but 2024, it ain’t no fair ones in Toronto,” he raps.

This led to speculation that he was referring to Drake’s viral feud with Kendrick Lamar and various others. This is not confirmed, but one of Kendrick’s associates decided to weigh in regardless. In a series of tweets shared yesterday, Hitta J3 made it clear that he was not a fan of the verse, clowning both Lanez and Drake. DDG even caught a stray, as the rapper claimed he once saw him at a party and he “looked like he seen a ghost.”

DDG Claims He Doesn’t Know Who Hitta J3 Is

“Tory better chill out only person coming for him is the guard on that cell block nah but free that man,” he wrote. “DDG seen me at rich the kid party & looked like he seen a ghost & I said wassup he act like he was legally blind.” He went on, dragging Drake for getting support from Lanez and not other peers. “The boy must really need help he got prisoners speaking up for him before his industry friends lol,” he theorized. “N****s nice & we can’t take a man serious in protective custody. I’m speaking my peace same way he played the record on his stream now what.”

Now, DDG has responded to Hitta J3’s remarks during a recent stream. Fortunately, he doesn’t appear to be fazed. In a clip, he claims he has no idea who he is. “I don’t even know who the hell this is, bro,” he said. “The f*ck?” He went on, reminding fans that he didn’t write Lanez’s verse, so it’s not a reflection of his personal thoughts and beliefs.

Tory Lanez and Drake’s relationship hasn’t always been solid. Recently, however, the former decided to show the latter some love on DDG’s new Handling Business EP.

This resulted in mixed reactions among social media users, and many speculated that it was a reference to Drake’s explosive beef with Kendrick Lamar. This is unconfirmed, but regardless, it earned a big response from one of the Compton rapper’s affiliates. Hitta J3 shared his take on the song in a series of tweets posted yesterday (December 13), clowning Lanez, Drake, and DDG.

Hitta J3 Claims Drake “Must Really Need Help” After Tory Lanez Nod

“Tory better chill out only person coming for him is the guard on that cell block nah but free that man,” he began. “DDG seen me at rich the kid party & looked like he seen a ghost & I said wassup he act like he was legally blind.” Hitta J3 didn’t stop there, however. He went on to point out the lack of support Drake has received from industry peers in recent months. “The boy must really need help he got prisoners speaking up for him before his industry friends lol,” he wrote. “N****s nice & we can’t take a man serious in protective custody. I’m speaking my peace same way he played the record on his stream now what.”

This isn’t the first time Hitta J3 has thrown shade online either, as in September, he fired back amid threats from Top5. “Come find out then,” he said, sharing a clip of Top5 getting pushed out of a Toronto restaurant. “This the tuff guy yall talking bout.”

ASAP Rocky Promises That Rihanna Collab Is “In The Works” Despite Fan Worries

Some truths are universal: we’re all going to die one day, you need to pay your taxes, and ASAP Rocky and Rihanna might not drop music again. But that’s fine, especially as both of them develop their careers, business ventures, and most fulfilling creativity in whatever ways the see fit after giving us so many amazing songs and albums. Moreover, they both attended the Footwear News Achievement Awards on Wednesday (December 4) in New York City, where the Harlem rapper gave another hint that they might drop a collab soon. Perhaps that will appear on one of either artist’s highly anticipated studio albums.

“I think you should just wait around and see,” A$AP Rocky responded when E! News asked him whether or not he and Rihanna will work together on music. “You know, we’ve got something in the works. […] I think [we love working together so much as friends first and then partners] just because it’s easy, especially with somebody you share a kindred spirit with or you share the same interests with. It’s pretty easy. It feels more organic or natural.”

But A$AP Rocky left out an important factor that currently determines how he and his boo will navigate their careers: parenthood. Rihanna specifically spoke on the relationship of prioritization between her musical endeavors and taking care of her kids, and she did not flinch in deciding which one she wants to champion. “It’s impacted it greatly,” she remarked about how having children affected her creative process. “It’s a new priority. My kids are my priority. Music comes second to that.” With all this in mind, if we woke up in either icon’s shoes, we don’t know if we would move differently.

As such, maybe we just need to be appreciative of what we have and patiently excited about what they could drop in the future. After all, they still have plenty of other important life milestones to hit before they can really dive back into their music without pressure. A$AP Rocky and Rihanna aren’t even married yet… Or are they? In any case, if they do release more music, we hope they give us insight into their artistic collaboration.

Rihanna & Angel Reese Lock In A Collab During Award Show

Rihanna and Angel Reese just made their admiration for one another very clear thanks to some new social media posts from the Footwear News Achievement Awards in New York City on Wednesday (December 4). The latter received the honors for the Style Influencer of the Year award, whereas the former just hung out there with her boo A$AP Rocky. When they crossed paths, Reese shared some videos of their interaction to her Instagram page, with them even remarking on how they want to collaborate on something in the future. We have no idea what this link-up could look like, but either way, we’re excited for both of them to garner more pop culture crossovers.

Beyond Rihanna, though, Angel Reese has met plenty of other celebrities and musicians amid her newfound fame as a WNBA superstar. However, not all of them have the same results. For example, fans clowned DDG for a promo video he did with the Chicago Sky player, making it clear just how much shorter he is than her. He seemed to take it all in stride, though, as it’s hard not to anticipate those types of comments flooding engagement.

Anyways, back to this collab tease. The most obvious and logical way in which Rihanna could work with Angel Reese is if they endorse or promote each others’ brands. RiRi has a pretty huge one in Savage X Fenty, so perhaps that’s the vehicle through which they can cause some pop culture mayhem. As for Reese, she has a boatload of endorsement deals, business ventures, and media spaces of her own, so she could always invite the Barbadian singer on for some of those.

Meanwhile, even if this collaboration doesn’t manifest, we’re sure that Rihanna and Angel Reese have some big plans for 2025. They often have to reckon with new music demands or creepy podcast interactions to get where they want to go, but those haven’t stopped them so far. Fans want to hear some new gems and see more great games. But it’s clear that these women have far more tools in their arsenal to build their presences and support each other.

Kenny Muney Recruits Key Glock For Laid-Back Track “Paper Route”

It’s already been a good year for Kenny Muney fans. The Memphis rapper unleashed his album The Blue Seasons back in March, followed by various singles. Now, he’s preparing to deliver a new edition of the project, The Blue Seasons Super Deluxe. It’s scheduled to drop tomorrow (December 6) and will feature an impressive 12 new tracks.

To get listeners ready for what’s to come, however, Kenny has dropped off a new music video for his song “Paper Route” featuring fellow Tennessee native Key Glock. The laid-back track features boastful bars about being “married to the money.” The simplistic music video shows the two artists flaunting their whips, in the studio, and more. This isn’t the first video supporters have seen from Kenny Muney in recent weeks, as he also dropped videos to accompany “Jacuzzi On The Roof” and “I Ain’t Roddy” late last month. Both of those songs are also expected to appear on The Blue Seasons Super Deluxe.

The release of Kenny Muney’s new music video comes after he called out Ralo and DJ Akademiks in October over Young Dolph. He accused them of using the trial of his late friend and collaborator’s alleged killers as clickbait. “Quit speaking on situations wit them folks on the other side cause it ain’t a game!!” he wrote at the time. “If anybody know @youngdolph he don’t give a damn what nobody else f*ckin wit who let my n***a rest!!” Ralo later confirmed that they’d worked things out, admitting that Kenny Muney was right.

J Cole Recalls Feeling Surpassed By Kendrick Lamar Following “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City” Release

During a recent episode of his Inevitable audio series, J Cole and his manager Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad shared two of his unreleased collabs with Kendrick Lamar. They discussed how the collabs came about, and Cole also opened up about his initial reaction to the release of Kendrick’s 2012 album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City. According to him, the pressure was on once it dropped, as he felt as though Kendrick had “surpassed” him.

“He came to Fayetteville and we worked on that studio bus for two or three days,” Cole said of the collabs, which were recorded when Drake’s “Club Paradise” tour featuring Kendrick came to his city. “Before, I had sent him joints, but this was the first time we actually got to lock in and work on sh*t. And that sh*t was so fun, dawg… It felt like when your cousin would come over to your house.”

He went on to recall Kendrick playing some tracks from GKMC for him before its release. “When Kendrick’s album dropped, the journey got harder, the mountain got steeper. Because similar to when [So Far Gone] dropped, where it was like, ‘Oh sh*t, there’s another person out there that has the same ambitions as me,’ it happened like that with Kendrick,” he explained.

“It was a feeling of surpassment,” he added. “It was two indicators that told me. His first-week numbers were more than mine. The other thing was we had a show where we were both on the same lineup… and I went before him and he went after me.” This wasn’t the first time Cole played his fans unreleased Kendrick Lamar collabs, however. Last month, he previewed two more, this time dating back to 2010.

Scott Storch Claims He Keeps Getting Blocked From Collaborating With Drake

It comes as no surprise that Drake continues to attract high-profile artists who want to collaborate with him. Unfortunately, not all of these artists actually get the opportunity. During a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, for example, Scott Storch revealed that he’s been wanting to do a song with Drizzy for some time now. Sadly, he hasn’t been able to yet. According to him, he knows Drake is a fan of his, but the collab keeps getting blocked despite this.

“I really wanna work with Drake, but I’ve been roadblocked with Drake,” he told Rogan. “I know Drake loves me.” At the time of writing, it’s still unclear exactly who is blocking the two artists from collaborating. Regardless, fans think it’d be a good match, and hope they can get together eventually. “This would actually be a dope collab,” one X user writes. “Need,” another says simply.

Scott Storch Wants To Work With Drake

It remains to be seen whether or not the Grammy-winning producer will get to work with the Toronto rapper anytime soon. Drake does have some big things in the works, however, which supporters expect to hear sometime soon. This includes an album with PartyNextDoor, which he’s been teasing for months. Earlier this week, Drake joined xQc for a livestream, where he provided his fans with an exciting update on the project. “Me and PARTY’s album is 75 percent done,” he revealed. “Shout out to PX cooking right now. Album is sounding incredible. Shout to the Six, the whole city, anybody watching from Canada, we love you.”

Drake also recently decided to take legal action against Universal Music Group (UMG), a controversial move amongt social media users. He accuses the label, along with Spotify, of artificially boosting Kendrick Lamar’s hit diss track “Not Like Us.” He also alleges that UMG could have stopped the release of the song, on which Kendrick “falsely [accuses] him of being a sex offender.”

Megan Thee Stallion & Flo Milli Team Up For Bloody “Roc Steady” Music Video

It goes without saying that it’s been a huge year for Megan Thee Stallion. The Houston hitmaker embarked on her massively successful “Hot Girl Summer” tour with GloRilla, dropped her new album Megan, and even followed it up with a deluxe edition. The deluxe edition, which she unveiled last month, features various brand-new tracks. It even includes a collaboration with fellow southern femcee Flo Milli.

The duo joined forces for the lively track “Roc Steady,” which was quick to become a fan favorite. Now, they’ve teamed up to drop a music video to accompany the song, pulling inspiration from the 2009 film Jennifer’s Body. So far, fans are loving the bloody video, and already demanding more music from the two rappers. Meg hasn’t been the only one keeping busy, however. Recently, Flo Milli confirmed that she’s expecting her first child following plenty of speculation. “Flo mommy sh*t,” she tweeted yesterday (November 26). “I can’t even see my coochie nomore that’s cr*zy.”

The new video also arrives amid Megan Thee Stallion’s legal battle with Milagro Gramz. Meg filed a lawsuit against the blogger late last month, accusing her of spreading falsehoods about the Tory Lanez shooting case. Earlier this week, Gramz filed a motion requesting to have the lawsuit dropped. “Plaintiff is suggesting here that merely liking, linking to, or talking about an online post regarding a public figure is a criminal offense,” her legal team alleges.

“Rather than rebut the allegations online, Plaintiff chose to use the Courts to intimidate and silence the Defendant from exercising her First Amendment rights to publish her opinions and beliefs and also to serve as a warning to other critics that if the Plaintiff does not like what you say about her, you will likely have to deal with a federal lawsuit,” Gramz’s legal team also alleges.
