Nicki Minaj had nothing but love when responding to a video of Chris Brown playing “FTCU” for one of his dancers at a recent concert. “This is so very appreciated. Wow. 🫶🏽,” Minaj wrote on X, formerly Twitter. As a result, many fans began to implore Minaj to bring out Brown during stops on her upcoming Pink Friday 2 tour. Nicki’s 53-stop tour of North America and Europe begins on March 1 in Oakland. At the time of writing, the only confirmed guest act is Monica, who will open all non-festival shows on the North American leg.

Minaj and Brown have seven collaborations together. Their partnership dates back over a decade to “Right By My Side” in 2012. Their most recent collab was Brown’s “Wobble Up”, also featuring G-Eazy, in 2019. Furthermore, their best charting was the Young Money track “Only”, which went triple platinum and peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, their best-performing collab with no other featuring artists was Brown’s 2013 “Love You More”, which peaked at No. 23.

Chris Brown Claims He Was Uninvited From NBA All-Star Celebrity Game

The love from Minaj caps off a mixed week for Brown. The singer claimed he was uninvited from the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. “I was asked by the NBA to play in the All-Star Game this year! Only for them to call later and say I couldn’t do it because of their sponsors like Ruffles. At this point, I’m sick of bothering me and I’m tired of living in the f-cking past,” Brown wrote on Instagram. Furthermore, Brown claimed that after uninviting him, the NBA still asked him to sit courtside at the game. Brown posted an initial invitation from the league to appear at the game. However, he did not provide evidence of the league uninviting him.

It was the second major event in a week that Brown had seemingly been excluded from. Usher confirmed in a recent interview that he did not consider Chris Brown for a cameo at his Super Bowl halftime show. “No, I did not reach out to Chris Brown. I’m not gon’ tell you everybody I reached out to. I reached out to some hitters. I was curating what would be one of the greatest Super Bowls of all time and it actually turned into that because of who I reached out to,” Usher said.

Yeat & Drake Team Up Again On New Single “As We Speak”: Stream

Yeat’s new album 2093 is out now, and we didn’t even experience a full day with it before he revealed more tricks up his sleeve. Moreover, he announced that he would drop another song for the project: “As We Speak” with none other than his “IDGAF” collaborator, Drake. Just like with that last link-up, this song starts with a dramatic instrumental, presumably a sample, before getting into the Portland rapper’s performance. Paired with grand pianos, buzzy synths, and then with distorted and heavy percussion, this makes for an unsurprisingly futuristic and unique sonic pallet. In fact, one could argue that this is probably the most unique and out-of-the-box instrumental that Aubrey Graham has rapped on… maybe ever?

That’s a debate for another day, but for now, there’s a lot to admire and appreciate about “As We Speak.” Lyrically, it’s a lot of cheeky and charismatic flexing from both MCs, and their deliveries and flows match well while defining their individual artistic approaches. Yeat is able to captivate our ears with his delivery and ad-libs, whereas Drake comes through with a more traditional flow that still does well over this more industrial beat. It’s a lane that he had never really tapped into like this, and for that alone, this is one of the most exciting songs either artist has put out as of late. It’s a similar approach to that of other features on 2093, such as Lil Wayne on “Lyfestyle,” and one that really resonates as a fresh and boundary-pushing track.

Latto and Cardi B’s 2023 summer banger “Put It On Da Floor Again” has gone platinum, according to Complex. Released in June 2023, the track was a Cardi-infused remix of Latto’s April hit. While the original track only peaked at No. 25 on the Billboard Bubbling Under chart, the addition of Cardi saw the remix peak at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. Furthermore, the remix was widely praised by critics. “Cardi matches and then exceeds Latto’s energy. Once again, Cardi is endlessly quotable,” Tom Breihan of Stereogum wrote.

Furthermore, the high-energy video was full of brief cameos as Cardi and Latto twerked and flexed across a variety of retail outlets. Offset and BabyDrill both made an appearance, as did LSU’s Angel Reese. Additionally, Cardi name-dropping the 2023 NCAA National Champions led the school to invite her to campus.

Latto appears bathed in neon blue light with glowing iridescent irises during a brief segment of the “Sunday Service” music video. The shot pays homage to a similar one in 1998’s Belly. While it is a striking shot, not everyone online is impressed. Some fans argued that Latto shouldn’t be praised for a reference that has been done countless times before. Of course, this is all just part of the rumor mill right now, and it’s likely that Kanye West just wants to shout some rappers out. In fact, Quavo supposedly features multiple times on his Ty Dolla $ign collab album Vultures, whose first volume reportedly got a tracklist revision. “Our streams across all platforms [are] up 700%,” Mook continued. “Our YouTube numbers went up. We gained 20,000 subscribers in like two weeks. So everything is up. The song, first teased in 2020 during a Rolling Stone interview, has been partially released as a minute-long snippet online. The trap beat is written from the perspective of Joni Mitchell, the iconic folk musician. It’s unclear whether his endorsement will see the song finally come to light.

Fans have been anxiously awaiting the release ever since, and fortunately, it looks like they shouldn’t have to wait too much longer.

During a recent appearance on the All The Smoke podcast, Snoop provided viewers with an update on the project. According to him, he and Dr. Dre have reached the final stages. “I’m in the lab with Dr. Dre right now. That’s Death Row/Aftermath. We finishing that up right now, tidying up the pieces to that. He’s a perfectionist,” he explained.

He went on, revealing how the album came to be in the first place. “The n***a called me one day about two years ago.
