Lastly, we got even more information just yesterday after a clip from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert began to make the rounds. In the interview snippet, Colbert questioned him about his celibacy journey and if that was actually true. Numerous times, 50 Cent said yes, and he’s said that it’s been helping him quite a bit. “When you calm down, you can focus… “It’s been good, I’ve been good to me”.

Not surprisingly, this isn’t the first time that Rozay has joked about Fif’s breakup wtih Cuban Link. For example, he also appeared on Gillie and Wallo’s Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast, where he talked about his idea of what a “gangster lifestyle” is and a whole lot more. However, this new convo with Colbert saw Fif talk about something that he hasn’t touched much upon since the start of the year: his celibacy. He announced this move at the top of 2024, and in this new interview, the host asked whether he was really celibate.
“When you calm down, you can focus,” 50 Cent answered indirectly when it comes to his celibacy. “It’s been good, I’ve been good to me.” “That’s when things start getting complicated,” he responded when Colbert asked how he made so much money without “motivating factors in our evolutionary biology” being an influence. “Things start getting confusing because people coming for different reasons.” Of course, we know that the G-Unit mogul has made money for a long time, as a possible “CEO war” with Dame Dash might prove in the near future.
Elsewhere, though, 50 Cent also spoke on the positives of celibacy when it comes to his dating life. “If you go on a date but you have no interest in anything, I can see you now,” he remarked on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “I said, ‘Goddamn girl, you fine but you ain’t got nothing going on.’” Colbert also asked the Power creative whether he ever married or has plans to do so in the future. “I’m safe, I’m not a happy hostage,” he replied. “I’m free. I’ve made some mistakes, just not that one.”
Meanwhile, 50 Cent’s earlier comments on Gillie and Wallo’s podcast led to a full-on diss track from Desiigner. “N***as talking that 50 Cent, I be talking 50 mil,” he raps on the cut, responding to Fif’s story about not wanting to sign him when he started to blow up. “I got signed to Kanye, lil’ n***a, you was never worth a deal.”

One figure who has been vocal about her experience with celibacy is Lady Gaga. Back in 2010, the pop icon stated, “I can’t believe I’m saying this – don’t have sex. I’m single right now and I’ve chosen to be single because I don’t have the time to get to know anybody. So it’s OK not to have sex, it’s OK to get to know people. I’m celibate, celibacy’s fine,” she told Daily Mail. She continued, “It’s OK to be whomever it is that you want to be. You don’t have to have sex to feel good about yourself, and if you’re not ready, don’t do it. And if you are ready, there are free condoms given away at my concerts when you’re leaving!”

Similarly, actor Andrew Garfield entered on a celibate path while preparing for his role in the 2016 film Silence. He revealed on an episode of the WTF With Marc Maron podcast, “I had an incredibly spiritual experience. I did a bunch of spiritual practices every day, I created new rituals for myself. I was celibate for six months, and fasting a lot because me and Adam [Driver] had to lose a bunch of weight anyway.”

For some celebrities, being celibate has helped them rethink intimacy. Justin Bieber, prior to his marriage to Hailey Bieber, engaged in a period of abstinence as a means of rededicating himself to his spiritual beliefs. “[God] doesn’t ask us not to have sex for him because he wants rules and stuff,” Bieber explained to Vogue. “He’s like, ‘I’m trying to protect you from hurt and pain.’ I think sex can cause a lot of pain. Sometimes people have sex because they don’t feel good enough. Because they lack self-worth.”
Orlando Bloom

Similarly, actor Orlando Bloom embraced a six-month celibacy streak before meeting his now-wife Katy Perry. He credited the experience with helping him “relate to women and to the feminine within [himself]” in a more fulfilling way. Bloom revealed to The Sunday Times he was initially aiming for three months of abstinence, but ended up extending it because he was “really enjoying the way I was relating to women.”
Hilary Duff

In the early 2000s, Hilary Duff was among the celebrities who publicly committed to being celibate until marriage. Duff, who dated Joel Madden, stated at the time, “It’s harder having a boyfriend who’s older because people just assume. But [virginity] is definitely something I like about myself. It doesn’t mean I haven’t thought about sex, because everyone I know has had it and you want to fit in,” she told Elle magazine in 2006. “But when they talk about it, it doesn’t sound special, like you would imagine it to be.”

For Nick Cannon, celibacy has been an on-again, off-again part of his life’s journey. After welcoming his 8th child in 2021, Cannon revealed he had started a “celibacy journey” on the advice of his therapist. He explained, “My therapist was one of the [people] who said that I should probably be celibate because I had shared that news, that Bre was pregnant. That was the reason why I started my celibacy journey back then,” Cannon explained during a conversation with Angela Yee on his talk show in January 2022, referring to the model who was expecting his eighth child. ” … I was [celibate] because I was dealing with [this].”
Amber Rose
On the other hand, model and media personality Amber Rose has been outspoken about embracing long-term celibacy out of disillusionment with modern dating. In a candid interview on the Sofia with an F podcast, she declared, “I don’t want to share my house or my life with anyone. I don’t want anyone around my kids. I don’t want to have sex. It’s so gross. I don’t want it.”
Nicki Minaj
Rapper Nicki Minaj has also been open about periods of celibacy in her life. In 2017, she revealed she had taken a break from sex and dating, encouraging her fans to do the same. “I’m just chillin’ right now,” she said. “I’m celibate. I wanted to go a year without dating any man. I hate men,” she said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

For actor Terry Crews and his wife Rebecca King-Crews, a vow of celibacy played a crucial role in rebuilding their marriage after Crews’ struggle with pornography addiction and infidelity. Crews told Entertainment Tonight, “I went on a 90-day sex fast [with] her…It took me back to a time when I was 12 years old and I liked a girl and I didn’t know anything about sex. But all I did was give her a flower and say, ‘I like you for who you are.’”

Mariah Carey is another celebrity who has spoken about the positive effects of abstinence. Prior to her 2008 marriage to Nick Cannon, Carey practiced celibacy, explaining, “It’s not that we had NO intimacy, we just didn’t have complete intimacy…I just thought that it would be so much more special if we waited until after we were married.”
“I definitely don’t want to push it on anybody else,” she added. “But we both have similar beliefs, and I just thought that it would be so much more special if we waited until after we were married. And it was, and it still is.”
Ice-T is someone who frequently speaks on the biggest topics of the day on social media. Overall, he has never shied away from a topic, even if it is a bit controversial. For instance, he will talk about politics, sex, and everything in between. Yesterday, the actor found himself in the midst of a debate surrounding legendary musician Lenny Kravitz. As we reported, Kravitz revealed in a recent interview that he has been celibate for the last nine years. He hasn’t found a relationship, and he is just taking things day by day.
This subsequently led to a strong response from Ice-T, who let his feelings be known on Twitter, now known as X. “Hey…If you’re a guy and you can voluntarily go 9yrs without sex… you’re following the wrong page,” the artist wrote. A few fans question Ice for his take, noting that Kravitz isn’t hurting anyone and that this was simply his choice. Ice-T then doubled down on his position, saying “shit’s weird to me. I love to fuck… A lot.”
In the comments section over at The Neighborhood Talk, Ice T got a lot of flack from fans. “Imagine not understanding self-control and self-discipline,” one person wrote. “I’ve been celibate for almost 11 years. No unplanned pregnancies, No STD’s & no drama. life is good,” said another. Many of the comments were of a similar tone. At the end of the day, people can live how they want, and in the eyes of fans, celibacy shouldn’t be considered “weird.”

Lenny Kravitz recently revealed that he’s been celibate for almost a decade, and according to him, the decision has a lot to do with what seems like a generational curse. During an interview with The Guardian, the 60-year-old performer opened up about his rocky relationship with love and intimacy, as well as what made him opt out of sex altogether. He explained that it all started when he learned that his father, Sy Kravitz, was cheating on his mother Roxie Roker.
Kravitz recalled telling his father he was hurt by the affair after overhearing his conversation with another woman. His father then warned him that he’d end up taking a similar path, and years later, it came true. “He became right,” he told the outlet. “After the marriage, I became more like him. I was becoming a player.“

“And I feel like that happens so much to women in this industry,” Julia Fox went on concerning Kanye West. “They’re only as good as their partner or they can make a whole career off being some guy’s partner. “I just got off celibacy this year,” Bobby Shmurda remarked. “It was supposed to be 90 days but I did 45 because some s**t happened. It was my first time, celibacy, you know what I’m sayin’? So some s**t happened and, y’know, I repented for seven days, then I caught a relapse again.” In addition, he said that it’s been a difficult process, and that he’s broken edge three times thus far. “I think I slapped one off,” Shmurda told the show host when remarking that viewing adult content has helped him out in this process.
Furthermore, with all the partying that he’s been up to, it certainly isn’t the best environment to practice this in. Still, Bobby Shmurda doesn’t need to isolate himself to complete his goals, and with abstention of substances, actions, or other things, the road is always complicated. What’s more is that it isn’t the only lifestyle change that he’s tried to live by. For example, the 29-year-old spoke on the B/S with Jake Paul podcast about 21-year-olds being too old for “opps.”
