Waka Flocka is a proud supporter of Donald Trump, who recently won the United States presidential election against Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. However, he feels like his support of the convicted president-elect resulted in some groups and organizations trampling over his freedom of speech. The reason why is because the organizers for a meet and greet with the rapper this week canceled the event due to his political views. In response, he issued a lengthy message on Twitter that criticized how he feels like the foundations of freedom of speech that built the U.S. are only applicable to the “system.” It’s not that simple, but we’ll let the comments section of the Instagram post down below illuminate that for you.

“Imagine living in a country… built on free speech. To ultimately find out free speech is only given to those who don’t go against the system…” Waka Flocka Flame spoke of how his meet and greet was no more due to his Donald Trump support. “A lot of ppl need to wake up. Y’all being used for a bigger agenda. Free speech is free speech. My decision for who I vote for is my decision. Y’all talking about freedoms? [They canceled] one of my meet and greet events in DC… today because of some people’s opinion. Because they harassed a liquor store until they canceled the s**t. Then they spin it like I did something wrong for having an opinion… that’s freedom?”

However, Waka Flocka Flame certainly applied a similar mentality to some of his own events. For example, he told Joe Biden supporters to leave his concert back in July of this year, and this shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the dynamics behind private bookings and partnerships.

Pharrell Cancels Something In The Water Festival 2024

Pharrell sadly announced the decision to push back his Something In The Water festival in Virginia Beach from October of this year to April of 2025. Yesterday (Friday, September 13), pre-sale tickets were still put up for sale, and a promised lineup reveal never arrived. The PETA target had previously delayed the festival from April to October 2024. “Dearest Virginia, I love you with all my heart,” he wrote to fans. “Nobody loves you more than I do. Virginia doesn’t deserve better, Virginia deserves THE BEST. So SOMETHING IN THE WATER has to match that. It just isn’t ready yet.

“That’s why we as a team have decided that we must postpone this year’s SOMETHING IN THE WATER festival that was due to take place in October,” Pharrell’s statement continued. “This is not a Pharrell festival, this is the state of Virginia’s festival so it has to be the best. Virginia made me, and I want to honor it with as much love as it’s shown me my entire life. And you know me, everywhere I go it’s VA. I am so grateful to our amazing sponsors and the city for their continued support and trust in us to get this right, and that time is April 2025.”

Furthermore, refunds will take effect for debit/credit card ticket purchases and can be redeemed at the Veterans United Home Loan Amphitheater’s ticket office in the case of in-person sales. These ticket holders for the 2024 Something In The Water festival will have first access to tickets once the new dates go live. It’s a sad development for Pharrell, music fans, his supporters, and the city of Virginia. But he’s got more to look forward to, such as his Piece By Piece LEGO biopic.

Elsewhere, Pharrell also revealed during an interview that he and his Neptunes partner Chad Hugo aren’t on speaking terms. “But I love him, and I always wish him the absolute best, and I’m very grateful for our time together,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. This rift is due to a legal dispute over the rights and trademarks of the duo’s name. We’ll see if they can come to an agreement.

Gucci Mane, Plies, And Yung Miami Concert Allegedly Canceled By Police After Yungeen Ace Joins Lineup

Yungeen Ace’s addition to a concert lineup featuring Gucci Mane, Plies, Yung Miami, and Rob49 allegedly caused Tampa Police to shut down the event. According to No Jumper, the venue was concerned about providing security considering Ace’s alleged gang affiliations. The outlet shared an alleged email explaining the decision on Instagram on Sunday. The concert was scheduled for Friday, September 20.

“You may know that Julio Foolio was murdered right up the street from us and we’ve been made aware that Ace is rumored to have gang ties to the group that was involved with the shooting (Gangs ATK and KTA),” it reads. “We’re concerned about security around the venue and in the area seeing how recent this all happened. There’s also a duty we have to USF to make their police aware of the information if Ace is indeed coming.”

In the wake of Foolio’s death, Ace has made several conflicting headlines regarding the situation. In a snippet of a track remixing Cash Cobain’s hit song, “Problem,” he appeared to diss both him and his mother, rapping: “They mad at me that n***a died that’s not my [problem], I’m getting rich off the dead like that’s my [problem]. Can’t trust nobody but my choppa that’s my [problem]. Lil’ n***a died, got caught in traffic that’s my [problem],” as well as, “When this b**ch got hit with the stick that wasn’t my [problem]. When his mom got hit with that sh*t that wasn’t my [problem].”

The potential for this happening began back on April 24, 2020 when they put out their first song out as a duo. “THE SCOTTS”, both as a tandem and single, shot up the charts.

In fact, it debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and it currently sits at over 804 million streams. However, even with all of the record’s success and the constant reaffirmations from Scott and Cudi, there were also some doubts coming from the latter that an album would come to fruition. Cudi even went as far as to say that it wasn’t going to happen. However, that would be followed up by more optimism just months later.

Now, though, it seems that this could officially be the end of THE SCOTTS, according to AllHipHop. The Cleveland, Ohio native hosted a Q&A session while waiting for his flight to depart and this topic once again came up. “When are we getting the scotts album Cudi”, a fan asked. Lovers & Friends Festival Canceled Due To Weather Conditions

Folks in Las Vegas are feeling quite disappointed right now… at least, if they had tickets to attend the Lovers & Friends festival this year. Moreover, the music extravaganza celebrating many iconic artists from the ’90s, 2000s, and beyond was scheduled to take place today (Saturday, May 4). Unfortunately, event organizers issued a statement announcing the cancellation of the event due to risky weather conditions, which is a saddening blow considering the wealth of amazing acts slated for it. These include Usher, Alicia Keys, Nas, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Janet Jackson, and many more. This festival began in 2022 after COVID-19 delayed its premiere, it shut down early in its first year due to a reported shooting, but it ran smoothly last year.

“Lovers & Friends Festival organizers have been monitoring the weather for several days and proactively preparing for a windy Saturday,” the statement read. “However, the National Weather Service has now issued a High Wind Warning, including dangerous 30-35 mph sustained winds with gusts potentially more than 60 mph. Following advice from the National Weather Service and in consultation with local public officials, we must make the safest decision for our fans, artists, and staff, and cancel tomorrow’s Lovers & Friends Festival.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Concert In England Canceled At The Last Minute

Artists canceling their concerts the day of has become a menace for some fans. Though last minute changes of plan are sometimes unavoidable, certain acts have a reputation for late cancelations. That isn’t the case for A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, nor is the overnight last-minute cancelation of his show in Manchester his fault. The venue waited until the absolute last minute to cancel the show with fans having already started lining up outside. In fact, it wasn’t until 10 minutes after doors were scheduled to open that the cancelation of the show was announced.

The show was set to take place at Manchester’s new Co-Op Live. The freshly opened venue is off to a very rough start. This isn’t the first concert they’ve had to cancel, rock band The Black Keys had their event called off last week. The venue also went ahead and delayed Olivia Rodrigo’s scheduled shows which were supposed to take place later this week. “We kindly ask fans to leave the area. Ticket holders will receive further information in due course. We deeply apologise for the significant inconvenience this will cause for many,” the venue said in a statement to social media. They later confirmed that the show was called off due to a tech related issue with the venue itself. Check out their tweet announcing the cancelation below.

Nicki Minaj fans are furious after the rapper canceled her concert in New Orleans on Monday night due to illness. While the excuse is fair, many attendees were displeased they only received a few hours notice. The Smoothie King Center’s official Instagram page made the announcement around 5:00 PM on the night of the concert.

“Due to doctor’s orders, Nicki Minaj must reschedule her NOLA show tonight,” the statement reads. “As Nicki is still sick, our team does not want to run the risk of getting others sick, and Nicki would not be able to give NOLA the show they deserve. We are working diligently to find a new date, so please hold onto your tickets, and we will inform you all soon.”

However, things took a turn for the absolute worst back in 2022. This is when Ye started making anti-semitic ramblings. Furthermore, he began hanging out with white nationalists like Nick Fuentes. It was all very concerning but Ye kept up the charade. Now, he has an album out and there are people who have essentially forgotten about his existence.

That said, there are still millions of people ready to support Ye, no matter what. Recently, the Vultures rapper was approached by TMZ while at the airport. It was here where he was asked whether or not he apologizes for the things he said in the past. Overall, Ye wasn’t too focused on dishing out an apology. Instead, he claimed that the only ones he feels bad for are Jewish kids. He also claimed that he could not be anti-semitic because black people are the real Semitic people.

As for cancelation, well, Ye feels as though cancelation is simply something that cannot happen to him. He believes that this is because he is simply too interesting of an artist for people to stop listening to. It is a pretty interesting theory. Although if you look at what is happening with Anthony Fantano right now, it is clear that Ye just has a cultish fanbase. They believe in everything he does, and if you disagree, you are somehow the bad guy. Either way, Ye continues to succeed, despite everything.

Issa Rae Says The Cancelation Of “Rap Sh!t” Is Indicative Of Industry Trends

Earlier this month season two of Issa Rae’s rap-themed show “Rap Sh!t” wrapped up on HBO. The season came alongside a mixtape soundtrack which featured contributions from some names like Sexyy Red, Rico Nasty, Kaliii, Guapdad 4000, and more. But after season two of the show wrapped up, fans got some bad news about its future. A few weeks ago HBO confirmed that the show wouldn’t be returning for a third season.

During a recent interview, Issa Rae discussed the show being canceled. In particular, she discussed how it represents an alarming trend of black TV shows being canceled. “You’re seeing so many Black shows get cancelled, you’re seeing so many executives – especially on the DEI side get canned. You’re seeing very clearly now that our stories are less of a priority,” she began the discussion. “I am pessimistic, because there’s no one holding anybody accountable – and I can, sure, but also at what cost?
