Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign’s “Vultures” Release Pushed Back Again

Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign will be releasing their upcoming collaborative album, Vultures, on February 9, according to the project’s official iTunes page. This comes after the platform previously had the date set as January 19. The update is the latest of a number of delays to the album.

When users on social media caught wind of the release date change, they were quite upset. “Yeah i’m officially done caring about this record. Keep it at this point it’s just disappointment after disappointment,” one fan wrote on Twitter. Another wrote: “The fact that this album is not even worth the wait makes me frustrated. After hearing Slide and the snippet from the fashion show for the first time I was hyped af, I thought this record would blow my mind, but, unfortunately, more than half of the album appeared to be mid.”

Additionally, there have been difficulties clearing the Backstreet Boys’ song, “Everybody.”

Playboi Carti’s “Antagonist Tour” Dates Seemingly Postponed

Playboi Carti is known to keep fans waiting, and it appears as though his eagerly-anticipated Antagonist tour is no exception. The hitmaker already moved the tour, which was originally scheduled to begin in September of 2023, with shows running in February of this year. Now, it appears as though he’s delaying select dates once again. The website for Orlando’s Kia Center claims his January 25 performance has been postponed, and a rescheduled date is not yet listed.

At the time of writing, this is the only show officially listed as postponed, but all prior tour dates have been removed from Playboi Carti’s website. The postponed Florida date may simply be a one-off thing, however, fans have been quick to express disappointment over continued delays on social media. While some are hoping that this is nothing but a false alarm, many can’t help but expect the worst.

Playboi Carti’s Orlando Show Postponed

Of course, the news also has fans wondering what this means for Playboi Carti’s upcoming album. The album, believed to be titled I Am Music or Music, is expected to drop sometime this month. This information comes from DJ Akademiks, who shared a Tweet revealing the rumored release window in December. He also called the project “the greatest thing you ever heard.” For now, fans can only wait to hear more about Playboi Carti’s tour, as well as the album.

Luckily, the Atlanta native has dropped a few bangers to keep fans occupied in the meantime. In recent weeks he’s unveiled “2024,” “H00DBYAIR,” “Over,” and more. Most recently, he teamed up with Travis Scott for “BACKR00MS,” which earned the praise of the Cactus Jack founder, Kanye West, and even Ice Spice. What do you think of Playboi Carti seemingly postponing dates on his Anatagonist Tour? Will you be getting tickets to catch him live? Are you looking forward to his upcoming album? Travis Scott Promises Rescheduled Chicago Shows

This isn’t the first time Chicago hip-hop heads have been left disappointed this month. Travis Scott’s postponement follows Nicki Minaj’s recent Jingle Ball cancellation, which was similarly announced only a day prior to the show. “Hope it doesn’t make you sad,” she told fans on Twitter earlier this month. “I won’t be able to perform tmrw in #Chicago for Jingle Ball.”

She went on to announce that Lil Wayne would be performing in her place. “I was so excited to see you guys. Pls accept my sincerest apologies. I’ll make it up to you on the Chicago stops of my tour early next year. Details to come,” she added. Nicki’s since announced her tour in support of Pink Friday 2, which is scheduled to stop at Chicago’s United Center in April. Young Thug’s ongoing YSL RICO trial has been delayed to 2024 after one of his co-defendants was stabbed in prison, earlier this week. Judge Ural Glanville made the announcement in court on Tuesday after putting the trial in a recess the day prior. Meghann Cuniff reports that the case will resume on January 2, 2024.

“Let me go ahead and tell you where we are,” Judge Glanville told the jury. “Remember yesterday we recessed because one of our participants had a medical issues and I was telling you about that? Well, unfortunately, that medical condition still exists. Given the length of time that we will probably address that, it might be just more prudent to recess you. An early recess. Taylor Swift Postpones Rio De Janeiro Concert After Fan’s Death Amid “Extreme Temperatures”

Taylor Swift has postponed her second Eras Tour concert in Rio de Janeiro due to “extreme temperatures.” The decision comes after a fan died attending her opening night show at Rio’s Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos on Friday.

“I’m writing this from my dressing room in the stadium,” Swift shared in a handwritten note on her Instagram Story, Saturday. “The decision has been made to postpone tonight’s show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio. The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers, and crew has to and always will come first.”

Swift addressed the fan’s passing in a statement on Instagram prior to taking the stage on Friday night. “I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show,” Swift wrote at the time. “I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this. There’s very little information I have other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young. I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it. I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.”

Taylor Swift Helps Fans Get Water

During the concert, Swift paused one of her songs to ensure a group of fans got water when they appeared in need. “There’s people that need water right here, maybe 30, 35, 40 feet back,” the singer said on stage, as seen in videos posted on social media by fans. “So whoever is in charge of giving them that, just make sure that happens. Can I get a signal that you know where they are?” Be on the lookout for further updates on Taylor Swift on HotNewHipHop.

The Weeknd planned to perform 11 shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland between November 20th and December 9th. Mike Dean and Chxrry22 would’ve opened the shows.

In a statement, he explains: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, we must reschedule the Australia/New Zealand tour. New dates will be announced next year and current tickets will be valid for the new shows. Refunds will be available for those unable to attend the new dates. Deeply disappointed but can’t wait to be there with you!”

Live Nation also confirmed the postponement in a statement of its own: “We understand fans will be disappointed, and Live Nation is focused on working with The Weeknd to secure a new tour schedule. We will make a further announcement as soon as possible.” The ongoing tour is in promotion of The Weeknd’s latest two albums, After Hours and Dawn FM. He dropped After Hours on March 20, 2020, with guest appearances from Chromatics and Lil Uzi Vert. It debuted atop the Billboard 200 after moving 444,000 album-equivalent units. The Weeknd released Dawn FM, two years later, on January 7, 2022, with features from Tyler, the Creator and Lil Wayne. That project debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart.

As for new music from The Weeknd, he recently confirmed that he’s entering a new era of his career. “I’m going through a cathartic path right now. It’s getting to a place and a time where I’m getting ready to close the Weeknd chapter,” he said to W magazine. “I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill The Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I’m definitely trying to shed that skin and be reborn.”

Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign’s Album Event Postponed

Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign have postponed their multi-stadium album listening event. Originally set for November 3rd, the highly-anticipated event will now go down at a later date. Ty Dolla Sign first teased the plans back on October 23 with an ominous Instagram post containing a yen “Y” symbol, a dollar sign, and the words “multi stadium listening event November 3rd.”. The listening party is likely to resemble the iconic Donda listening events Ye hosted in 2021.

Neither Ty Dolla Sign nor Kanye West has announced their upcoming album officially, but Billboard first reported that it’s in the works early last month. At the time, the outlet claimed the two were in the process of shopping the effort to distributors.

Kanye West At the MTV Video Music Awards

LOS ANGELES, CA – AUGUST 30: Vanguard Award winner Kanye West speaks onstage during the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards at Microsoft Theater on August 30, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images)

While the two haven’t confirmed details for the event, Billboard estimates that costs would easily run over $5 million. Further complicating matters, Ye is currently without a major agent after CAA dropped him last year amid a series of antisemitic statements and other controversial behavior. In October of last year, Ari Emanuel, CEO of WME-parent company Endeavor, called on those in the industry to boycott working with West. “If West would like to be educated about the history and consequences of anti-Semitism and the conspiracy theories he’s parroting,” Emmanuel wrote in a statement at the time, “If he wants to reach out to religious leaders — including rabbis, Muslim leaders, Christian leaders — I’d be happy to help.”

Billboard says they’ve spoken with numerous former associates of West who have said they’d be willing to work with the disgraced rapper again if he shows remorse for his actions. “He’s an incredible artist,” one “well-known” agent told the outlet, “but unless you know for a fact that he’s lucid and in a good place mentally, it’s not worth the toxicity to take him on.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s listening event on HotNewHipHop.

Despite LL Cool J saying that the updated dates are live, many fans noted that they were seeing their local shows as having been canceled entirely. “Yea but Barclays ain’t saying rescheduled they saying it’s straight up canceled…,” one fan wrote. LL Cool J was slated to perform at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on June 27. Another fan joked: “I took off work. I brought an outfit. I’m going to need you in the couch for the next few days until I get over this. (And you look real ready to me…ok you can come to bed, but stay on your side…just tonight) love you too.”

Not all fan responses were so negative. “Damn I had Tix to the Brooklyn show on 6/27 and it’s canceled with no make up date,” wrote one more supportive fan. “I wish it was rescheduled and my seats would be good for new date. Very disappointed but I understand if it ain’t right you don’t wanna half step, everything gotta be on point.”
