An 0 must go.

Undefeated WBO junior lightweight titlist Shakur Stevenson (17-0), one of the best pound-4-pound boxers in the world and self-proclaimed “smartest boxer in the sport,” faces his biggest challenge yet this Saturday night (April 30) when he fights WBC champ Oscar Valdez (30-0) to unify the super featherweight titles in Madison Square Garden.

After capturing the WBO title following a dominating TKO victory over former champ Jamel Herring last October. Stevenson, 24, not only puts his title on the line but also his undefeated streak against Valdez – who is also undefeated and eager to erase his past cheating allegations behind him. The unification bout is a career-defining fight for both fighters.

The Source’s Bryson “Boom” Paul spoke with the Newark, New Jersey native during fight week, discussing training for Oscar Valdez, who he’s listening to right now, being a new first-time father, the importance of trailblazing a path in boxing that the future will follow, women’s boxing, and so much more.

Watch the full interview above.

Stevenson, the two-weight world champion, welcomed a daughter last December with girlfriend Michelle Ragston, also known as recording artist Young Lyric. The Top Rank boxer has been identified as the future pound-4-pound by various co-signs, which includes Terrence “Bud” Crawford – who is currently ranked #4 overall in boxing. Shakur Stevenson is a Southpaw and heads into Saturday night a 5 to 1 favorite over Valdez.

Tyson Fury Silenced Dillian Whyte With a Devastating Hook

Fresh off his fantastic trilogy fights with Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury returned to the ring to a hero’s welcome at Wembley Stadium. The 94 thousand in attendance witnessed what might have been the Gypsy King’s last dance.

Fury knocked out  Dillian Whyte with a devastating right hook in the 6th round. Whyte managed to get up but staggered into the corner, and referee Mark Lyson waved it off at the 2:59 mark of the round.

After the fight, Fury reflected on his legendary undefeated career, and it appears he is content with walking away from the sport at this time.

“Now it’s all done I have to be a man of my word. I think this is it, it might be the final curtain for The Gypsy King and what a way to go out!” Fury said to the fans at Wembley Stadium.

It isn’t clear where Fury will rank among all-time great heavyweights in boxing history. For right now, he is without question the sport’s best heavyweight in the sport today.

SOURCE SPORTS: Errol Spence Jr. Puts On a Clinic Against Yordenis Ugas, Eyes On Terence Crawford

Errol Spence Jr put on a boxing clinic in front of his hometown in Dallas at AT&T Stadium against Yordenis Ugas to add another belt to his collection. Spence fractured Ugas’ left orbital bone en route to a 9th-round stoppage victory.

Ugas was gamed all night and proved a great opponent for Spence in his first fight in two years.

“I didn’t have any doubts at all. I believed in myself 100% and trained 100%,” Spence said. “I didn’t want a tune-up fight or someone I knew I could beat. I wanted someone who would bring out the best in me and Ugas did that.

“The nutritionist helped a lot. I lost the weight and they did a great job. It was just my work in the gym. I felt like my timing was off [early in his return] but I just kept working. I think that was due to the long layoff and I was super psyched to get in the ring and push the pace.”

Spence added Ugas’ WBA welterweight title with the WBC and IBF titles he already owned with the victory. Spence only needs Terence Crawford’s WBO title to become the undisputed 147-pound champion.

“Everybody knows who I want next; I want Terence Crawford next,” said Spence. “That’s the fight that I want; that’s the fight everybody else wants. Terence, I’m coming for that motherf—ing belt.”

For years, the culture and boxing world have begged for this fight. Shorty after Spence’s victory, Crawford expressed his level of interest in making that fight happen.

Hopefully, at some point in 2022, we can finally get the fight we all want.

Drake said it best on 2010’s “Thank Me Now”: “Damn, I swear sports and music are so synonymous / ‘Cause we want to be them, and they want to be us.”

Could we be getting a Floyd “Money” Mayweather verse in 2022? The undefeated boxing legend was photographed in the studio with popular NFL Wide Receiver Antonio Brown that has, of course, gone viral. The photo surfaced on Thursday morning (Mar 24), which shows AB and Floyd laughing with the billionaire in front of a mic, appearing to be rapping. No audio has surfaced; therefore, a collaboration between the two is merely speculation.

The possible collaboration would mark Mayweather’s music debut. Mayweather has been around hip hop his entire career, even as far as launching his record label, TMT, several years ago. However, the label has yet to produce a single release.

AB has been recording in Miami this week, preparing for his forthcoming debut album. AB has been in album mode since his controversial abrupt exit from his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, during last season’s game against the New York Jets in January. The Buccaneers and AB have parted ways since. After the departure, AB released his new single, “Pit Not the Palace,” which has already accumulated over million views on YouTube.

SOURCE SPORTS: Tyson Fury Hints Retirement After Next Title Defense

Tyson Fury

It appears it will be a grand closing for Tyson Fury after his next boxing match in April. On Tuesday, the WBC heavyweight champion told reporters that he intends to retire following his April 23 match against mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte.

During the press event, Fury said: “This is the final fight of my career, I’m retiring after this, $150m in the bank, healthy, young, I’m gonna buy a massive yacht abroad. I’m retiring, I’m out, this is my final fight, I’m done.”

If Furry successfully defended his championship against Whyte and retired afterward, he would leave on top of the heavyweight mountain. Fury shocked the world back in 2015 when he beat Wladimir Klitschko.

After taking time off for mental health issues, Fury began a fantastic trilogy with former WBC champ Deontay Wilder. After the first match ended in a draw, Fury would dominate the second and third matchups.

As one right now, Fury isn’t thinking past April 23. If he changes his mind, a unification title fight would be the next logical goal for Furry.
