Despite turning 50 years old on Wednesday, Pharrell still has maintained a youthful appearance. Fans reacted to the news with shock on social media, questioning how he seems to have not aged a day since the beginning of his career.

“50 years old? I’m convinced Pharrell is immortal,” one user posted, while another tweeted: “Pharrell is 50 years old Today and still looking like a 25 year old.” Another further wrote: “Pharrell is FIFTY?!?! This isn’t a looks young thing I just genuinely did not realize the number was getting that high wow. Still moves like he’s idk 38 or 42 tops lmao what a guy.”

As for how Pharrell maintains his young look, he explained his skincare routine during a 2017 interview with Dazed. “I exfoliate like a madman,” he said at the time. “When you exfoliate and you drink a lot of water, that does good for you. To me, the key is just exfoliating, like a monster. There’s a lot of dead skin. All the time. Like a narcissistic madman.” In the years since, Pharrell has launched his own Humanrace skincare line.

In addition to celebrating his birthday this month, Pharrell will also be celebrating his legendary career at the 2023 Grammys on the Hill Awards. The event recognizes congressional leaders and musicians who have led the fight for creators’ rights. “I’m very grateful to be honored at this year’s Grammys on the Hill among some incredible other honorees who have done tremendous advocacy work for others,” Williams said in a statement. “It’s important that we show up for each other and support one another to ensure that we can keep creating.” Over the course of his career, Pharrell founded organizations such as Black Ambition and YELLOW while also contributing to social justice by working with former Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam to make Juneteenth a paid state holiday. The Grammys on the Hill Awards will be held in Washington, D.C. on April 26.
