Hit-Boy’s father, Big Hit, is back behind bars. Hit-Boy revealed on Instagram his dad is back in jail, but a reason has not been provided.
“It’s free Big Hit, my n—a,” BIg Hit says in the video. “You know what I’m saying, I fuck with my real fans, my n—a. If y’all fucking with me, go ‘head and download my CDs and cash out on my merch.”
Hit-Boy says more music is coming, as Big Hit recorded over 700 songs when he was free.
Hit-Boy and Big Hit were one of hip hop’s most inspiring stories. The former a superstar producer, and the latter a veteran rapper who was released from prison in 2023. The father-son duo made an instant splash with their collaborations, and were poised to do much more. Unfortunately, Big Hit’s career has been put on hold once again. The rapper was recently arrested, and Hit-Boy broke the news to fans on October 23. The producer shared an update, and admitted that the future is unclear at the moment.
Hit-Boy broke the news by sharing a FaceTime video between him and Big Hit. The latter was behind bars, and the producer reflected on the sad development in a lengthy caption. “People used to ask me what was I on dropping so much music,” he wrote. “And moving around with my pops so much.” Hit-Boy said that the reason was realized when Big Hit was locked back up. “In the back of my mind the paranoia of him going back was always there and here we are.”
Big Hit had spent his adult life going in and out of prison. Men’s Health reported that the rapper was hit with a 15 year sentence being caught with 10 kilos of cocaine, ten guns, and $300,000. He was promptly released, but locked up a second time for a crime tied to a hit-and-run accident. It was this second stint that he was released from in 2023. Hit-Boy was only three years old when Big Hit was first arrested. He told Rolling Stone that there was a five year period where he wasn’t even allowed to visit his father while he was locked up.
During the same Rolling Stone profile, Big Hit stated that he wanted to serve as an inspirational tale for those who spend the bulk of their lives in prison. “I was trying to tell them before I was even released, I was giving n**gas inspiration.” Hit-Boy assured fans that his father still feels the same away, despite his current situation. He also confirmed more Hit-Boy and Big Hit music in the near future. “We don’t know what the future holds,” he admitted. “But Big Hit sends his love to all his supporters. He recorded over 700 songs when he was out so we got more music otw.”
Last month, Hit-Boy teamed up with his dad Big Hit for a new collaborative project. It isn’t the first time the pair have crossed paths following last year’s Surf Or Drown Vol. 2. This time around, they also recruited The Alchemist to serve on production. The resulting project is called Blacks & Whites and it features appearances from Boldy James, Killa Twan, LongBodyy, Figg Rarri, and C3. But the most notable guest appearance elaborated on the family affair at the album’s core by inviting on Hit-Boy’s sister HitgirlLena. The track was hyped up by rappers like Big Sean and A$AP Rocky praising the inclusion of the entire family together on the song.
The record was preceded by numerous singles multiple of which got music videos of their own. Now that the record is out the trio have seen fit to drop yet another music video. This time it’s the song “Temperature Check” which turns up right in the middle of the album proper. Like all the videos from this era so far it’s shot in stark black and white, which fits well with the album title. Though the song is short they pack quite a lot of different material into the less than two-minute video. The visuals have already racked up more than 5 million views in just a few hours. Check out the full video below.
Hit-Boy, Big Hit, & The Alchemist Share “Temperature Check” Visuals
The last single from the record was called “Drug Czar.” It preceded the record by just a few days and got a some visuals of its own. The song followed up the closing track “Gank Move,” the single that featured an appearance from HitgirlLena.
What do you think of the new music video for Hit-Boy, Big Hit, and The Alchemist’s song “Temperature Check?” Which of the songs from their new album Blacks & Whites is your favorite? Let us know in the comment section below.
Big Hit, Hit-Boy and The Alchemist represent three different phases of hip-hop. Big Hit brings the gritty appeal of an industry veteran despite being relatively new to the game. His son, Hit-Boy, has been one of the most versatile producers of the last decade. The Alchemist, meanwhile, has been lacing beats for the best rappers in the game for over thirty years. There was a risk that bunching them together would result in their strengths canceling out, resulting in a subpar album. Thankfully, that’s not what happened here.
Black & Whites, the debut album from this trio, is a triumph. In a very particular field, that is. The album is not going for summer playlists or radio play, it’s going for the grime and the soulfulness of the best street albums the genre has to offer. “Heartless” sees Big Hit weave cold-blooded bars over an Alchemist beat with a gorgeous vocal sample. There’s no drums, just Hit’s propulsive flow and Alc’s wizardy working in tandem. The soul chops on “Sly, Slick & Wicked” and the titular track are worth the price of admission. Hit-Boy and Alchemist have incredible chemistry behind the boards, and nearly steal the show from their emcee. Fortunately, Big Hit brings his A-game whenever he’s paired with guest features.
Big Hit And His Producers Attempt Different Styles
The rapper and Boldy James sound mean as hell on the the East Coast-centric “Godfather, Pt. 2.” Then the former turns around and trades verse space with HitgirlLENA on the effortlessly catchy, West Coast-bounce of “Gank Move.” “Gank Move” closes out Black & Whites on a deceptively warm note, but most of what’s here is chilly, efficient, and excellently made. If you liked the promo single “Drug Tzar,” you’re going to love the rest of what’s here.

In 2024, Hit-Boy, Big Hit, and The Alchemist, are creating one of the most rock-solid one-off rap trios. While they do not have a group name, what they have been up to as a unit has been pretty impressive. The California trifecta has been dropping single after single over the month of May. All of them have been released to build anticipation for their forthcoming record Black & Whites.
As we have stated multiple times now at this point, the album was first teased on May 6. Big Hit, Hit-Boy, and The Alchemist did so by dropping a short trailer on social media. It recreated the obliteration of printers from the film Office Space. They then proceeded to pump out three tracks, with the most recent one, “Gank Move,” featuring Hit-Boy’s younger sister HitgirlLENA.

However, it is not the latest offering now, as that title belongs to the Big Hit-dominated “Drug Tzar” (a Russian emperor). On this cut, Hit-Boy’s meticulously picks apart a dirty boom-bap beat from Uncle Al. He raps about being the boss and essentially being a drug-dealing kingpin. The tracklist is sadly a third of the way released already, as it will be just 12 songs. However, at least there has not been a miss yet. That is a great indication that May 30 will not be a disappointing day for anyone who decides to check the tape out.
What are your thoughts on “Drug Tzar” by Hit-Boy, Big Hit, and The Alchemist? Is this the best single from Black & Whites, why or why not? What is your favorite aspect of it? Is this Big Hit’s best rapping performance out of all of the promos? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Quotable Lyrics:
Exotic fruits and vegetables, models gettin’ sexual Smoke you out to smoke you, toast with you then toast you Take your final sip, you just got chipped over chips Enjoy your final sip, you just got licked by your b**** Ahem, ahem, excuse me, I’m tryna get filthy You’re kinda in the way, and I ain’t tryna feel guilty
Hit-Boy, Big Hit, and The Alchemist have been hyping up their forthcoming collaborative title Black & Whites over the month of May. They have been doing a masterful job at doing so in our eyes. The legendary trio put together a hilarious trailer by calling back to the 90s comedy film Office Space. They recreated the memorable printer smashing scene nearly to a tee and it was a blast to watch. On top of that, Hit-Boy and his crew have put out some solid singles for the project, including this most recent one, “Gank Move.”
This is now marks the third promotional track we have gotten in the last three weeks. Firstly, The father/son duo and Uncle Al dropped “Foreclosure” just a day after the teaser trailer. Second was the self-titled cut, which saw Al and Big Hit lyrically spar effectively. Now, we have “Gank Move,” which did not get any promotion from any of the album’s creators.

What the previous two offerings had in common was zero inclusion from any guests. However, that all changes this time around, as HitgirlLena joins the fray. This collab appears to have been coming at some point, as evidenced by her Instagram page. She posted a pic with Big Hit and Hit-Boy several weeks ago, which possibly prompted them to hop in the studio together. You can hear Hit and Lena trade verses with the link above.
What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “Gank Move” by Hit-Boy, Big Hit, The Alchemist, and HitgirlLena? Is this the strongest single from Black & Whites, why or why not? Who had the better rapping performance? Will this be one of the better albums of the year, why or why not? The rollout for Black & Whites continues 24 hours later, as Hit-Boy and the crew drop the lead single “Foreclosure.” That crew consists of the Fontana, CA native, his father Big Hit, as well as the boom-bap master, The Alchemist. They are dropping the project we just mentioned very soon, as it was announced via an Office Space-inspired album trailer. The trio did a remarkable job recreating the printer smashing scene from the 1999 comedy classic. All three artists were smashing keyboards, while still paying homage to the OG, including the printer, too. In the 1:30 clip, Hit-Boy and the gang previewed music, but it turned out to not be “Foreclosure.”
Fans are still awaiting the release date for Black & Whites so that is partially why this track is here. It appears that Hit-Boy, Big Hit, and The Alchemist are bringing a grim and murderous tone to this project. “Foreclosure” starts out with some mean and punchy drums from Hit-Boy. Then, the beat switches slightly, as Uncle Al brings haunting piano keys into the instrumental.

While the terrific beat rolls on, Big Hit is providing a deliberate flow with aggressive lyrics. His raspy voice pairs perfectly with the atmosphere and it sounds like we are going to have an incredibly consistent project on our hands. Black & Whites will follow up a couple of Hit-Boy projects such as THEODORE & ANDRE, Paisley Dreams, among others. Be sure to check out “Foreclosure” above.
What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “Foreclosure” by Hit-Boy, Big Hit, and The Alchemist? Is this going to be the best song from Black & Whites, why or why not? What part of the instrumental was better? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Big Hit has released a skit addressing the long-standing conspiracy theory that he’s actually Nipsey Hussle. “STOP FEEDING INTO THE CONSPIRACIES I AM NOT NIPSEY HUSSLE,” Hit wrote as a captioned to the interaction with a random man outside his hotel. In the video, the man reveals that he believes Big Hit is actually Nipsey Hussle.
However, based on the comments, Hit will be fighting the allegations a while longer. “He said what everybody Been thinking. [laughing emoji], wrote one user. “[laughing emoji] every outsider Think every south cali n-gga from the streets look an sound alike …had a girl tell me I look like nipsey just foolishness ..no I’m just from the west stop it [laughing, okay emojis],” a second comment read.
Of course, not everyone gets to laugh about Nipsey. Last year, Charleston White was confronted by a group of Nipsey’s friends. White was no fan of Nipsey and has often gone out of his way to trash the late rapper. In the video, one person can be heard telling White to “keep Nip’s name out your mouth”, which leads to a full-blown confrontation. White responded by attempting to mace the group. As they rush inside the hotel, they can be heard saying “why n-gga spraying shit?” Both knives and mace are fully legal in the state of Arizona.
The moment came during a wild weekend in which White was meant to fight in a boxing match. After pepper spraying his boxing opponent the day before, White got into an altercation with a man at his hotel. The man shoved White, who then hit him with an unfolded flip knife, colloquially referred to as a “pig poker”. They jawed for a minute or so, White now brandishing the knife, before the man got into the elevator. The video, shot by one of the man’s friends, showed that the man was bleeding from a laceration on his head. It was later revealed that this was once again Suede the Plug God, White’s boxing opponent.
Outside of maybe a small handful of hip-hop producers, there is no one doing it better right now than Hit-Boy. The Grammy-winning beatmaker has dominated the mainstream and likes to dabble with lesser-known artists as well. Hit-Boy, like always, has been all over the place. Over the past year, he has worked with Travis Scott, Benny The Butcher, Nas, and many others.
Another artist he has been close by is actually his father. He goes by Big Hit, and lately, they have been hitting the studio to record tracks and projects. At the tail end of 2023, Big Hit put out his first LP with beats provided by his son. About a week and a half later The Game got involved with the father-son duo for Paisley Dreams.”

Now, Hit-Boy is gearing up for another short project later this month. It will be his third collaborative tape in a row, as he teams up with LaRussell. To help promote it, he has just dropped the lead single “ANOTHER ONE.” Big Hit is also back in the mix and this one is a banger. You can check out the track and music video above. RENT DUE will be available on February 25 and will have seven songs.
