The United States is doing great at the 2024 Olympics so far: As of this post, the US leads in overall medals and trails behind only China in gold medals. Superstar gymnast Simone Biles has contributed to the US medal count, and now she is the subject of a new Beyoncé-narrated video.

The spot, which offers a visual overview of Biles’ journey, is set to the Cowboy Carter song “Just For Fun” and also features narration from Beyoncé. She says, “Let’s talk about power. Because, really, that’s what this story’s about: Physical power. Its beauty, its wonder. The way it never stops amazing you. Then there’s spiritual power, the kind that really matters. The power you can’t see, only sense. The power you need in those moments when life goes a little sideways on you. And, of course, lasting power. Only a select few know what it feels like to get to the top and stay there. And, somehow, keep getting better.”

This comes days after Beyoncé starred in a Cowboy Carter-style hype video introducing the USA athletes, before the games officially kicked off. In the video, she gives props to some athletes specifically while also saying more generally, “Get a look at America, y’all. These hopes and dreams. These superstars that represent us, the people of this big, bold, beautiful, complicated nation, all rooting together for them.”

Megan Thee Stallion is a marketing maven. The “Where Them Girls At” rapper has coined several catchy phrases and nicknames that have made its way into popular culture. Now, she’s hoping her latest play on words leads one presidential hopeful into the White House.

Today (July 30), Megan Thee Stallion threw her support behind Vice President Kamala Harris during the politician’s rally in Atlanta, Georgia.

As Megan Thee Stallion took to the Georgia State Convocation Center stage, she proudly declared: “Hotties For Harris.”

A slogan that he super fans (of voting age) are sure to run with until the presidential election this November. Then, she broke into a performance of her hit song, “Savage.”

Megan also performed her viral record, “Body,” while tying it into Harris’ campaign pledge to restore women’s right that have recently been revoked, restricted, and overturned. “Now, I know my ladies in the crowd love they body,” she said. “If you want to keep loving your body, you know who to vote for.”

The H-town hottie didn’t forget about her latest fan-favorite track, “Mamushi.”

Megan isn’t the only musician to throw their support behind Harris. Charli XCX has fully embraced her brat-branding being used to drum up support for younger voters. Beyoncé kicked things off with an approval for her track “Freedom” to be used in Harris’ official presidential campaign video.

Her opposition, Donald Trump, has a few musical supporters as well, including Kodak Black, Swae Lee, and at one point, Sexyy Red. But none quite with these ladies’ superpower.

There are no other sporting events like the Olympics. Every four years, people from across the world get to celebrate their respective country and cheer on their homegrown athletes with hopes of nabbing tons of gold medals. However, it is also one of the few globally unifying events we have, which makes it just that much more special. From July 26 to August 11, we really get to watch the best athletes compete at the highest level, what’s more hype than that? If you’re a music fan, the opening ceremony might have been you’re favorite moment. Especially thanks to the incredibly epic video created by Beyonce for this year’s Olympics.

Queen Bey was one of a few high-profile musicians to help kick-off the games in style (Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, etc.). Instead of performing live though, Mrs. Carter put together a goosebump-inducing intro for all of Team USA. “We’ve got superstars and we’ve got legends. We’ve got big dreamers who fought their whole lives to get here. Who gave up everything for one shot, and made it”, Beyonce says. The ‘Cowboy Carter’ Herself, Beyoncé, Introduces Team USA In The 2024 Paris Olympics Commercial

The 2024 Paris Olympics games have begun. From Snoop Dogg’s carrying of the torch to Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, and Gojira’s trending performances, cameos featuring musicians are in abundance.

But in typical fashion, Beyoncé surprised the world with a patriotic promotional video that nearly crashed the internet. Yesterday (July 26), while after everyone processed the dazzling opening ceremony, NBC Olympics & Paralympics dropped their Team USA introduction video lead by none other than the Cowboy Carter herself, Bey.

In the visual, Beyoncé dressed in fully customized Americana regalia fit for the now reigning rodeo queen as a reimagined version of her song “Ya Ya” soundtracked the moment.

Beyoncé’s entry into country music, often viewed as the most red-blooded American genre, wasn’t exactly appreciated at the time. Despite the tension from naysayers, the Houston native preserved and make musical history along the way. The true American way.

This complex dynamic of who is considered to be a proper representation of America made its way into the promotional clip as Beyoncé said: “These hopes and dreams. These superstars that represent us. The people of this big, bold, beautiful, complicated nation.”

Call it what you want, but this type of alignment couldn’t have been more divine.

VP Kamala Harris Releases First Campaign Video Featuring Beyoncé’s “Freedom”

Vice President Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris has released her first official presidential campaign video. The clip is set to Beyoncé’s song, “Freedom.”

“In this election, we each face a question,” Harris says in the clip. “What type of country do we want to live in?”

Later, she says, “We choose freedom,” allowing Beyoncé’s voice to ring off.

Vice President Kamala Harris made a memorable entrance during her first official visit to her campaign headquarters on Monday evening. She walked out to the powerful anthem “Freedom” by Beyoncé. A source close to Harris revealed to CNN that her team received approval from Beyoncé’s representatives to use the song throughout her presidential campaign.

Beyoncé, known for her strict clearance guidelines around her music, swiftly granted permission to Harris’ campaign on Monday, just hours before the Vice President made her entrance. While Beyoncé has not officially endorsed Harris following President Joe Biden’s announcement that he would not seek a second term, her quick approval for the use of “Freedom” suggests the superstar’s support for Harris.

This significant gesture underscores the cultural and political weight behind Harris’ campaign, highlighting a potential alignment with Beyoncé’s advocacy for social justice and empowerment.

Additionally was a ringing message of support from Tina Knowles on Instagram.

Last night (July 22), Kamala Harris made her first official visit to her presidential campaign headquarters. When she did so, she walked out to Beyoncé’s Lemonade song “Freedom.” Tons of musicians have gotten mad at Donald Trump for using their music at his public showings, but Harris apparently did things by the book and got Beyoncé on her side.

CNN reports that “a source close to Harris” told them Harris’ team “got approval from Beyoncé’s representatives to use the song throughout her presidential campaign,” and that Beyoncé “gave quick approval to Harris’ campaign” to use the track “just hours before she walked out to the song.”

As of yet, Beyoncé has not officially endorsed Harris’ presidential campaign.

This comes shortly after Charli XCX did give her explicit endorsement, tweeting, “kamala IS brat,” in reference to her new album Brat. From there, Harris’ team knew what to do: As part of re-branding the Biden-Harris campaign social media pages, they used a Brat-themed banner image, which left the folks at CNN deeply confused.

Harris previously said in a statement, “On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country. I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination.”

Kamala Harris Walks Out To Beyonce Song After Tina Knowles Endorsement

Kamala Harris isn’t wasting time. President Joe Biden stepped down on Sunday, July 21, and Harris, the new Democratic nominee, gave a speech on July 22. Recognizing the importance of strong branding, the current Vice President decided to use Beyonce’s “Freedom” as her walk-out song. “Freedom,” released by Bey on her self-titled album, is described by Genius as an “anthem dedicated to Black women.” Given the reverence for the song, and Harris’ public profile, the alignment of art and politics makes sense.

This is not the first time Kamala Harris has publicly aligned herself with Beyonce’s music. During a 2023 interview with People Magazine, the VP revealed that she attended Bey’s Renaissance World Tour. She also cited “Break My Soul” as her favorite song on the Renaissance album. “I just love that song,” Harris explained. “I play it all the time. It’s one of the anthems for women. When [Beyonce says] ‘you,’ you could be life, you could be a person, you could be a situation. You will not break my soul.” Bey’s last album, Cowboy Carter, drew similarly high praise from Harris. “You have redefined a genre and reclaimed country music’s Black roots,” she wrote on Twitter. “Your music continues to inspire us all.”

Kamala Harris Is An Avid Beyonce Supporter

The timing of Kamala Harris’ “Freedom” needle drop could have been more perfectly timed. The same day the VP utilized the Beyonce song, Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles, endorsed her presidential bid. “You asked for it and our President Biden did what was best for the country,” Knowles explained on IG. “Putting personal Ego, power and fame aside. That is the definition of a great leader,” Knowles thanked Biden for his decision and made it clear she was behind Harris all the way. “Thank you, President Biden for your service and your leadership,” she added. “Go Vice President Kamala Harris for President.”

Beyonce has not spoken publicly about Kamala Harris. She did, however, provide the Vice President with free tickets to her show in 2023. NBC News reported that the tickets Bey gifted to Harris were valued at a whopping $1655.92. Harris returned the favor by posting photos of the concert, and thanking Beyonce for the kind gesture. “Thanks for a fun date night, @Beyonce,” she wrote on August 6. Both Beyonce and JAY-Z have made their friendship with the Obamas public, and have been vocal about their politics in the past. Only time will tell if Beyonce decides to voice support for the new candidate.
