Why Did JT & Lil Uzi Vert Fight At The BET Awards 2023?

The 2023 BET Awards went down this weekend, and there was plenty to love on stage. There was a star-studded performance in honor of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary, Latto went ahead and “Put It On Da Floor,” Offset and Quavo teamed up to honor Takeoff, and Busta Rhymes had an emotional moment. What might be the biggest drama of the night, though, happened off stage.

As Lil Uzi Vert and JT sat in the audience together, JT appeared quite upset and said to Uzi, “F*cking groupie, I’m done with you,” videos show. She then threw her phone at at him and called him a “b*tch.” She then headed towards the exit and Uzi followed her out.

So that’s what happened, but why did it happen?

Neither rapper has publicly spoken about what happened, so at the moment, all we have are rumors. What we do know for sure, though, is that the interaction happened after Uzi shouted out Ice Spice on an unreleased song he performed, in which he says, “I got a nice wife. […] Wig came off twice. She got a little afro, she looks like Ice Spice.” As for the rumors, some are speculating the blow-up was caused by a mix of that and Uzi supposedly flirting (or at least talking) with Ice Spice.

Offset Posts Behind The Scenes Video Of Surprise BET Performance

Many of rap music’s biggest superstars showed out for last night’s BET awards. Performances brought together legends of old with the hottest stars of today to celebrate rap’s 50th anniversary. In one of the biggest performances of the night, Migos rappers Offset and Quavo re-united to pay tribute to the group’s third member Takeoff. Takeoff was shot and killed in November of last year and since then stars from all across the industry have paid tribute to his personality and talent.

The latest tribute was a major highlight of last night’s BET awards. This morning, Offset took fans behind the scenes of the day leading up to the surprise show. A video on his Instagram tracks what he was doing in the day leading up to the award show. The video shows Offset and Quavo rehearsing their choreography before the show. They rehearse on an empty stage pointing at the picture of Takeoff projected onto the wall behind them.

Offset Takes Us Behind The Scenes

While Offset and Quavo’s performance was one of the highlights of the night, it also had plenty of drama. City Girls’ rapper JT and her partner Lil Uzi Vert had a very publicized fight during the show. Many initially suspected that it had something to do with Uzi shouting out Ice Spice during his performance. JT was quick to come out and clarify the situation afterward saying she is totally cool with Ice Spice.

Offset has been busy recently popping up in a few places during Paris Fashion Week. First, he linked up with Jay-Z and Pharrell during the latter’s debut show as Louis Vuitton’s Head of Menswear. He also performed his hit song “Ric Flair Drip” during sportswear brand Li-Nang’s show. Finally, he showed up at the Dior show a few days later sporting a fit nobody could ignore. He quickly turned around from those appearances to make his surprise return to the BET Awards stage. What do you think of Offset’s behind-the-scenes video of his BET performance? Let us know in the comment section below.

Ice Spice Caught Looking At Her Phone During BET Awards: Fans Debate

It’s no secret that 2023 has been a pretty big year for Ice Spice so far. She released her breakthrough EP back in January which propelled her into the rap mainstream. Since then she’s collaborated with artists like Nicki Minaj, Pinkpantheress, and even Taylor Swift racking up numerous top 10 hits along the way. She and Nicki Minaj just released their second collaboration “Barbie World.” The song is set to appear on the soundtrack to Greta Gerwig’s upcoming new Barbie movie.

But not everyone is happy with Ice Spice. During last night’s BET awards someone caught the “In Ha Mood” singer on her phone in the audience during one of the performances. Rap veterans Sugar Hill Gang, MC Lyte, and Big Daddy Kane were performing together while Ice Spice was busy with something on her phone. This sparked heated debate among fans on Twitter about her actions. Many fans stood up for her. They cited her age as a reason why she wouldn’t care about the older performers and many agreed they were doing the same thing from home. A number of other users showed up to call her actions disrespectful. Others just claimed that the entire discussion is not that deep.

Ice Spice On Her Phone

Another BET controversy popped up after Ice Spice posted a photo dump to her Instagram this morning. One of the pictures shows the rapper alongside Lil Uzi Vert. She’s been tied to the “Just Wanna Rock” rapper recently after they shouted her out in a song. The association allegedly caused Uzi’s partner to throw a phone and Ice Spice last night and fans are left trying to put everything together. She also had a pretty major performance during the award show. She pulled out some of her biggest hits like “Munch” and “Princess Diana” during her show-stealing moment last night.

Ice Spice is also hitting the road later this year. She and Doechii are serving as the openers on Doja Cat’s upcoming Scarlet Tour from October to December. What do you think of Ice Spice ignoring one of the performances at the BET Awards last night? Let us know in the comment section below.

Sexyy Red & Chrisean Rock Twerk Barefoot In The BET Awards Aisles: Watch

The 2023 BET Awards were some of the most unhinged in recent memory, from Lil Uzi Vert and JT’s public dispute (reportedly over Ice Spice) to Boosie Badazz actually making an appearance days after being freed from jail. Some of the night’s biggest winners include Busta Rhymes, who gave a lengthy speech while accepting his Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as Beyonce, Coco Jones, SZA, and Kendrick Lamar. Not all of our favourites were in the building last week, but many of those who were didn’t hold back on having a good night.

Among those who had all eyes on them were quickly rising rap diva Sexyy Red, and her friend Chrisean Rock. The latter has been outside living her best life as the summer begins, even as her due date nears. Days before the BET Awards cameras caught the 23-year-old performing at a club in a sparkly ensemble, her baby bump glowing under the light. She took a similar styling approach for Tyler Perry’s event, wearing a satin golden skirt with a high slit and a bright yellow chest piece for her night on the town.

Kash Doll Films Sexyy Red and Chrisean Rock’s BET Awards Antics

In a video that appeared on Kash Doll’s Instagram Story following the show, Rock can be seen turning up with Red (wearing a two-piece outfit the same colour as her name) in the aisles of the venue. Both women have ditched their shoes, and the latter confidently perform bars from one of her biggest hits as the audience sings back to her. Before long, the expecting mother bends over to begin twerking on Sexyy, causing the audience to erupt in cheers

Aside from having a blast at the BET Awards with Chrisean Rock, Sexyy Red has also been busy promoting her Hood Hottest Princess album. The project features the viral “Pound Town 2” featuring Nicki Minaj and plenty of other must-listen tracks. During her press tour, the up-and-coming rhymer dropped by Angela Yee’s Lip Service podcast to discuss her come-up – including a low point in her romantic past that resulted in an STI. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

K Camp Reacts To Ice Spice Turning Down XXL Freshman Cover

K Camp says that he understands why Ice Spice turned down appearing on XXL‘s iconic Freshman cover for 2023. Speaking with TMZ for an interview published on Monday, he explained that just because the opportunity elevated his career, doesn’t mean everyone needs it. A source for the outlet previously noted that Ice Spice decided against the piece because she’s currently “blitzed with festival bookings and feature requests.”

“Right now, at this moment in her career, she’s definitely had a big run. She got a lot of sh*t going on,” K Camp said about Ice Spice. “Everybody don’t need XXL, but shout out to XXL because it helped my career.”

K Camp appeared on the 2015 XXL Freshman Class cover. Alongside him were Fetty Wap, DeJ Loaf, Raury, Kidd Kidd, OG Maco, Shy Glizzy, Vince Staples, Tink, and GoldLink. Despite the publication’s Freshman cover being so popular, many of the biggest artists in hip-hop today didn’t appear on it. Among them are Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyler, The Creator, A$AP Rocky, Young Thug, Post Malone, Cardi B, and more.

Despite Ice Spice not appearing on XXL, she’s been exploding in the mainstream over the last year. In the time since the release of her breakthrough single, “Munch (Feelin’ U),” she’s collaborated with Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj, and even performed at the BET Awards on Sunday night. In addition to “Munch,” she also performed “Princess Diana,” and “In Ha Mood.”

Coi Leray’s Outfit Honored Women In Rap During Her Busta Rhymes Tribute Performance At The 2023 BET Awards

Nearly nine minutes into Busta Rhymes’ head-spinning BET Awards 2023 performance around receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, Coi Leray appeared on stage to deliver her top-1o Billboard Hot 100 hit “Players,” which she remixed with Rhymes earlier this year.

Instead of promoting her freshly released album, Coi, Leray layered a tribute within the tribute by rocking a black-and-white two-piece set boasting names of several other power women rappers such as Bia, Cardi B, Dej Loaf, Doechii, Doja Cat, Gangsta Boo, GloRilla, Ice Spice, Latto, Lola Brooke, Missy Elliott, Saweetie, and more still.

In addition to Leray, Busta’s tribute performance included accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award from Swizz Beatz and running through verses from “MOP’s ‘Ante Up’ and A Tribe Called Quest’s ‘Scenario’ remixes, his verse from Chris Brown’s ‘Look At Me Now,’ and his hits ‘Break Ya Neck,’ ‘Give It To Me,’ ‘New York Sh*t,’ ‘Touch It,’ and ‘Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See,’ … [and] finished with his new song with BIA, ‘Beach Ball’ and a tribute to his Jamaican roots,” as recapped by Uproxx’s Aaron Williams.

Leray was nominated for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, which Latto claimed, while “Players” was up for BET Her, which Beyoncé won with “Break My Soul.”

JT Threw Her Phone At Lil Uzi Vert As The Two Got Into An Explosive Fight At The 2023 BET Awards

The 2023 BET Awards went down last night, and while there was plenty to get excited about on stage, there was some drama off of it, too, between Lil Uzi Vert and JT of City Girls.

Fan-shot videos of the event show the two in the audience. A seemingly upset JT says to Uzi, “F*cking groupie, I’m done with you.” She then throws her phone at Uzi as she calls him a “b*tch.” Another video shows JT heading towards the venue exit with Uzi urgently following her.

Before the incident, Uzi performed an unreleased song, which featured a lyric about Ice Spice: “I got a nice wife. […] Wig came off twice. She got a little afro, she looks like Ice Spice.” There has been some speculation that JT was upset over Uzi talking to Ice Spice, although the reason for the altercation has not been confirmed.

Ice Spice, meanwhile, also performed during the show, running through “Munch,” “Princess Diana,” and “In Ha Mood.” Also taking the stage were artists like GloRilla, Latto, and a number of icons coming together to celebrate hip-hop’s 50th anniversary.

Ice Spice Includes Lil Uzi Vert In BET Awards Photo Dump

Ice Spice is currently one of the biggest artists in all of hip-hop. Although some people don’t like this reality, you really cannot deny it at this point. Overall, the artist is doing it all. She has collaborations with some truly massive artists. Moreover, she is about to go on tour with Doja Cat. This is going to be a huge look for her, and fans are excited to hear some new music. In fact, she was recently on “Barbie World” with Nicki Minaj, which will feature in the new Barbie film.

Recently, Ice Spice was at the BET Awards. This edition of the awards ceremony was particularly special. Of course, this is because of the fact that it was Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary. The showrunners wanted to make sure that the genre was celebrated in the best way possible. In the end, that is exactly what took place. There were some amazing medleys as well as some individual performances. Ice Spice got to be one of the performers, and overall, she did a great job while paying homage to Cardi B.

Ice Spice On The Gram

Following the show, Ice Spice took to her Instagram page where she posted a photo dump from the evening. This included a plethora of pictures from the night that was. Her outfit was stunning and a lot of fans were impressed by it. Moreover, she even posted a photo of herself with none other than Lil Uzi Vert. This picture could stir up some controversy as Uzi’s partner JT threw a phone at them following the ceremony. Overall, it is believed that it all stems from Uzi shouting out Ice Spice in their new song. Although this is unconfirmed, people are trying to put two and two together.

If this was the case, then the inclusion of Uzi in the IG post is definitely interesting. Although perhaps Ice Spice simply isn’t fully aware of what went down. Either way, she had a good time at the show, and that is truly all that matters. Let us know what you thought of the BET Awards, in the comments section below.

Quavo and Offset Reunite to Tribute Takeoff at the 2023 BET Awards

It’s been a long time coming, but Offset and Quavo are back together, tributing the late Takeoff at the 2023 BET Awards.

The unannounced tribute aired as the show returned from commercial, positioning Quavo and Takeoff on opposite sides of a heavenly spotlight, which took the place of Takeoff. The two supported Takeoff’s verse on “Hotel Lobby” before performing their classic anthem “Bad and Boujee.”

The moment was both important to the legacy of Takeoff but assuming to place a nail in a standing beef between the two Migos members.

BET released footage from backstage as T.I. celebrates the two and echoes a statement that all of Hip-Hop had: “Love to see it.”

You can see that moment and the full performance below.

Last Sunday (June 18) would have been the 29th birthday of Takeoff. Remembering their late group and family member, Offset and Quavo hit Instagram to celebrate rocket man.

“Happy birthday rocket man,” Offset wrote. “The greatest to touch a mic!! best spirit ever!! purest man I know your heart was golden bring me peace bra we celebrate your life because you still right here I love you gang.”

“Happy Birthday @yrntakeoff can’t wait for days like this again!!!” Quavo wrote. “BEST believe we goin up all week the Rocket way GEEKD u 29 nigga.”

Lil Uzi Vert Dazzles Fans With Performance Of New Song

Lil Uzi Vert is an artist that a lot of people want to hear from right now. As it stands, Uzi is in the midst of teasing their new album, The Pink Tape. Originally, Uzi claimed that this album would be released in June. However, that has yet to materialize. Additionally, there is only one week left in the month, which means we might not actually get the album in June, after all. Although this is disappointing, the sheer abundance of snippets we have received indicates that it is at least coming soon.

Last night, Lil Uzi Vert was at the BET Awards. Overall, it was a huge awards show as some of the biggest stars in all of hip-hop showed up to the stage. Moreover, it was a special time as it was a celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. It was a fun night, and Uzi was a huge part of it. This is mostly due to the fact that they got to start off the show with a performance of “Just Wanna Rock.” In fact, there was also a demonstration of a brand-new song. This performance can be seen down below.

Lil Uzi Vert Delivers New Song

Overall, the song was received well by fans. Not to mention, it is clear that Uzi is going in an obvious direction for their new album. Although this song might not be to everyone’s taste, it is still very much in the same stratosphere as “Just Wanna Rock.” Unfortunately, not everyone enjoyed the song. According to reports, JT threw a phone at Uzi and even called them a groupie after mentioning Ice Spice in the new track. Although the reason for the incident is unknown, the speculation has run rampant.

No matter what, it is clear that we need The Pink Tape sooner rather than later. Hopefully, this is a project that lives up to the hype. Let us know your expectations for it, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from around the music world.
