Rihanna Kicks Back Some Shots With Friends In Barbados

Rihanna always has a good reason to go back home, and her latest trip to her native Barbados proved why in a wholesome but party-minded way. Moreover, a new video recently surfaced of her taking shots with some friends at a beach bar there over the weekend. The four of them seemed to take tequila shots as indicated by the limes, and RiRi asked the bartender for her name… And if she was allowed to drink at work so they could get her a shot, too. The bartender’s name is Rose, which got the singer very happy considering that that’s her son Riot’s middle name. The quarter (and Rose) cheered to the little one.

Furthermore, this went down at the Thunder Bay Beach Bar in Barbados, and Rihanna enjoyed a lot more when it comes to her travels. She also hit up the Crop Over Festival in a beautiful feathered dress, and A$AP Rocky and the kids are also around to help spread the good times. Overall, even though we see a lot of online content from the “Umbrella” superstar, it’s always more heartening to see these smaller, special moments. If only for a fleeting moment, it brings us as spectators closer and provides a relatable moment of reprieve through the joys of friendship… And tequila, too.

Of course, we know what you’re thinking: been there, done that, and it’s been eight years of the same headline. Nevertheless, we doubt that anticipation or desperate hype for R9 will die down until it actually comes out. So be ready for a whole lot more reports and speculative gossip where that came from.

But the most important part of this trip isn’t the drinking, nor the luxury travels, nor whatever work Rihanna’s got to do on her next project. ASAP Rocky and Rihanna seem to be enjoying their trip to Barbados after paparazzi caught them partying on a luxury yacht over the weekend. In pictures published by The Daily Mail, the couple can be seen celebrating with family and friends. Rocky wears an unbuttoned blue and white shirt over a black undershirt with black pants. Rihanna, on the other hand, is flaunting a much more colorful look, wearing a bright green animal-print mini-dress.

Earlier in the day, the two reportedly enjoyed a ride on a Great Big Mable Sofa Inflatable. They’ve been in Barbados since at least the beginning of this month when they celebrated the first birthday of their son, Riot Rose, on the Caribbean island.

Rihanna previously discussed her feelings on being a boy mom while speaking with E! News at an event for Fenty Beauty in April. “It makes me feel really cool to be a boy mom,” she said at the time. “Like I get to be as casual and busted as I want to, but it also forces me to embrace the epic things about being a woman, and a female and all my femininity. I embrace it so much more now, like I wear pink. I go between wearing jerseys and like, ‘I’m wearing a dress today! I’m the only one in this house who can do that right now.’”

Rihanna Dons Stunning Feathered Costume For Barbados Festival

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky didn’t just celebrate their son Riot’s birthday in Barbados, as it seems like they stuck around for even more fun. Moreover, RiRi recently stole the show at her home country’s Crop Over Festival this year on Monday (August 5), donning a jewel-heavy carnival costume with feathered wings and a luxurious crown. As she and her friends (including Ayra Starr) partied on a float for the festivities, they said hi to fans and overall seemed to have a fantastic time. For those unaware, Crop Over is a centuries-old gathering celebrating the end of the harvest in Barbados and is similar to Carnival celebrations in Brazil and Trinidad, for example.

During a May interview, Ayra Starr spoke on meeting the “Diamonds” singer for the first time earlier in 2024. “I was like, ‘Wow! Rihanna!’” she shared. “We got to hang out after the event. Just spending time with my idol, the person that inspired me to do all of this, was the most amazing thing. She gave me so many pointers and advice.” They linked up over some Fenty collaborations, which has been going strong this year.

Elsewhere, though, Rihanna also had to deal with some drama concerning allegations referenced in a new Trap Lore Ross video on Jay-Z, with her former publicist Jonathan Hay shedding some light on these claims. “So I was like, ‘F**k Jay-Z,’ since he won’t give us any attention and he’s being disrespectful to Amil, who was a single mother,” he recalled. “I’m going to get his attention and be disrespectful back to Jay-Z, as Rihanna was the best thing on Def Jam by far.

DJ Khaled is in family vacation mode, and it seems like he thought that Barbados would be a great place to celebrate the holiday season. He seems quite right, as new social media videos he shared show a beautiful day at the Caribbean island nation. Not only that, but the We The Best Music mogul took some time to pass through his frequent collaborator Rihanna’s childhood neighborhood. There, he spoke to locals and remarked how special it was to “breathe the same air” she breathed in her youth and witness where she flies kites. Overall, the New Orleans native seemed appreciative of the opportunity, and their history together indicates how much it means to him.

Of course, Rihanna may be an international superstar, but she still has very strong ties to her home. Unfortunately, recent news around this is less heartening, as a cousin of hers recently passed away. But for the most part, the superstar singer is more prone to share the beautiful things to find within Barbados and represent it with much pride. She and her boo A$AP Rocky, plus their kids, have really enjoyed their vacations there, and luxuries aside, we wish her family the best amid this difficult time.

Rihanna’s Cousin Tanella Alleyne Dead In Barbados Years After Brother’s Fatal Shooting

Rihanna’s life has been filled to the brim with blessings lately. Unfortunately, the 35-year-old is currently feeling the pain of losing a family member. As per Loop Barbados News, the “Diamonds” singer’s cousin, Tanella Alleyne, died suddenly in her home country last month. It’s an especially tough loss for the Fenty clan, seeing as the 28-year-old’s brother, Tavon, was fatally shot just six years before, which still weighs heavily on their hearts. The outlet notes that Tanella’s funeral took place on Monday (August 28) at St. George Parish Church.

It’s unclear whether Rihanna was able to attend so soon after giving birth. We can confirm her beautiful ballad “Lift Me Up” was played at her cousin’s celebration of life. A member of the family, Miguel Fenty, sent a message out on Twitter afterward reflecting on recent events. “What a beautiful funeral service Tanella [had], like it’s still surreal to me,” he wrote. “Seeing her in that casket really hit me and I cried not too long ago.”

On Sunday (July 2), adorable videos of Rihanna showing off her snowcone-making skills began going viral. The 35-year-old has a natural glow to her, wearing an unbuttoned denim skirt and a black tank top to show off her ready-to-burst baby bump. According to Just Jared, “Snowcone Man” Andrew Maynard specially delivered the sweet treat to the National Hero, and the Bad Gal happily obliged to pose for a photo with him and Rocky.

ASAP Rocky Dons Stacks On Stacks Of Gold Chains While Filming Video With Locals In Barbados

There’s been a clear maturing in ASAP Rocky since he assumed the role of a father last May. Both he and Rihanna have acknowledged this growth, as have fans who are glad to see the East Coast icon looking happier than ever before. While he’s been on daddy duty, new music arrivals from Rocky have been few and far between, though listeners are holding out hope that he’ll drop something noteworthy on us in the near future. On Friday (June 30), we got unofficial confirmation that something is in the works. The lyricist was out in Barbados, mingling with locals while apparently filming a music video.

In one clip making rounds online, Rocky wears countless cold chains stacked around his neck over a white tee. Around him, a group of men excitedly cheer, looking somewhat similar to the ASAP Mob star (minus the bling). This could be intentional, as we previously saw him sprinting through Paris in Timbs in a crowd of men, also dressed in a similar fashion to him at the time.

Videos obtained by TMZ show Rocky rewarding those who came out to help him with his project. Not only has Rihanna been travelling all over the world since announcing her second pregnancy in February, but she’s been doing it in style with ASAP Rocky by her side. We’ve seen the lovers visit Japan, where the soon-to-be father of two wore a graphic tee covered in miniature memes of himself, and more recently, they were in Paris to support Pharrell. Aside from Beyonce and Jay-Z, Rihanna and ASAP were arguably one of the best-dressed couples at the Louis Vuitton runway show, where they coordinated in all-blue outfits.

As Daily Mail reports, after finishing up their to-do list in France, Rocky and his “wife” (as he called Rihanna during his live performance in Europe this past week) caught a flight to Barbados. It seems to have become a tradition for the pair, as they visited the Fenty Beauty founder’s home country when she was nine months pregnant with RZA. She appears to be just as far along this time around. Of course, no information about the little one’s gender or due date is public knowledge yet.

According to RadarOnline‘s sources, the Bad Gal hears wedding bells in her future, and her baby daddy is on board. It remains unclear how much truth there is to the gossip. Sources say she wants to be surrounded by family and friends in her native country while tying the knot. “She wants it to be in Barbados, a super glam event. But she also wants to be able to run around barefoot,” they dished, also listing potential attendees as Jay-Z, Beyoncé and Adele. Additionally, island food will be served and plenty of live music will keep the vibes high.
