Earlier this year during his appearance on an episode of Drink Champs, Ludacris told a pretty evocative story about an encounter with Justin Timberlake at the Grammys. It came back in 2007 when Luda finally broke through and took home the award for Best Rap Album for his record Release Therapy. The part of the story everyone seems to agree on is that he was loudly and excitedly celebrating backstage, as you’d expect after such a big win. When he originally told the story he claimed that a most spiteful sounding Timberlake criticized him for being so loud when others people didn’t win any Grammys.

Now, Ludacris is walking back on that claim. He recently appeared on Hot Ones with Sean Evans to answer some questions and eat some hot wings. The Justin Timberlake story came up during their conversation and Luda had to clarify some things. “The Internet went a little crazy with it. He definitely meant it, but it was no cursing out. He was behind the curtain and I was celebrating so openly and I was so loud. I think it was said more in fun, but there was definitely some truth behind it. Like, ‘OK, show’s not over. Ludacris Amends His Justin Timberlake Story

Justin Timberlake is fresh off the release of his first new album since his much-maligned 2018 release Man Of The Woods. His new record is called Everything I Thought It Was and served up nearly 80 minutes of new music from the pop star. It was led off by the hit single “Selfish” which peaked in the high 20s on the Hot 100 and has hovered in the top 50 ever since.

Nicki Minaj Possibly Seen Arguing With Hairstylist Backstage During “Pink Friday 2 Tour”

Nicki Minaj is celebrating her revival of her iconic Pink Friday series with its sequel and its accompanying set of concerts. The Trinidadian femcee icon is currently on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, which began at the start of March. Its album dropped back in December of last year to mixed reviews. But you know her Barbz are going to fully support all of her work. However, the tour appears to be having its issues, as Nicki Minaj and a hairstylist got into it a little.

According to TMZ Hip Hop, they obtained photo evidence of the seemingly heated interaction backstage. It is a pretty blurry photo from her Seattle show last night, March 10, so it is hard to confirm how serious it got. However, Nicki’s stance and body language toward the hairstylist do reveal that there was some frustration from the rapper. Those were possibly stemming from some other production issues.

Recently, one Key Glock fan claims to have made their way backstage at one of his shows. Unfortunately, however, they were allegedly met with quite a surprise. According to them, they spotted an alleged note on the performer’s door, letting visitors know that if they weren’t interested in “f*cking or sucking,” they should get lost.

For obvious reasons, the alleged note came as a shock to fans, as it gave off a pretty creepy vibe. Countless social media users commented on the situation, sharing their own takes on it. Many thought it was funny, others found it hard to believe, and some called it downright “predatory.” Luckily, the rapper has come through with a response to the debacle, providing confused supporters with an explanation. According to him, he wasn’t responsible for the note, if it was even real in the first place.

Key Glock Denies Writing The Note

“KeyGlock said this ain’t a meet and greet lmao,” one Twitter user captioned the photo of the note. He then responded to that Tweet, writing, “Key Glock ain’t said sh*t.” Based on his response, he’s not a fan of how the alleged backstage surprise has made him look. The rapper went on to retweet another user’s response to the note, reading “Baby that ain’t for Key lmaooo just FYI gotta do the team.”

Luckily, he doesn’t seem to be letting all the chatter get him down, sharing a subsequent Tweet in apparent response to the controversy. “I just be laughing sh*t off,” he wrote alongside a laughing emoji. “It’ll help you live longer.” While the origin of the note remains unclear, fans are at least glad to know that Key Glock didn’t write it. Elsewhere, Gunna once again flashed a “Free Jeffrey” sign at one of his shows. The most recent instance came at a show the rapper did in LA this weekend. Last night the Video Music Awards took place and Nicki Minaj served as the host. She actually doubled as MC for the night and also a performer, taking part in the show’s 50th-anniversary tribute to hip-hop. She was a fitting choice after serving as one of three MCs for the night last year while also giving a major performance. Nicki was last year’s winner of the night’s biggest honor, the Video Vanguard award. This year that award went to Shakira and she also brought an absolutely massive performance to the stage.

While all seemed mostly well during the show on camera, a new clip from backstage tells a different story. “not Nicki Minaj almost throwing hands before her VMA performance,” the caption of a newly shared video reads. Though the clip is short, you can pretty clearly see that Minaj is bothered by something and appears to be close to getting physical with somebody backstage. All night there seemed to be videos popping up from backstage of artists letting their anger out. Lil Wayne had his security prevent MTV cameras from filming him holding hands with a mystery woman. Even Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake seemed to get into it in a viral clip, though they ultimately shut down any beef rumors in a TikTok.

MTV Cameras Stopped From Filming By Lil Wayne’s Security

Last night was the MTV VMAs where there were plenty of stars in attendance and plenty of cameras rolling. With exciting performances from some of the biggest stars in music going on all night, some were bound to cross paths backstage. That’s why there are so many cameras to catch moments like a backstage interaction between Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake. What looked like a heated argument between the two turned out to not be so dramatic, but the cameras also made headlines for what they didn’t film.

Lil Wayne was a staple throughout the show last night. Most notably he opened up the festivities with a rousing performance of his track “Uproar.” But at some point in the night when the cameras tried to follow him backstage, his security prevented them. The security first puts his hand up to get the cameraperson to stop filming. When that doesn’t work he physically points the camera away from Wayne. The reason for the diversion appears to be a mystery woman that the rapper was holding hands with backstage. Lil Wayne’s Security Won’t Let Mystery Woman Be Filmed

Later on in the night, Lil Wayne was also part of the newest tribute to rap music’s 50th anniversary. In a grand showing of love for the genre he was joined by Nicki Minaj, LL Cool J, DMC, Doug E Fresh, Slick Rich, and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five for a tribute that spanned decades of hip-hops past, present, and future.

The VMAs aren’t the only place in recent weeks to honor Lil Wayne as a legend in rap. Earlier this month he received the BMI Icon Award. Scar Lip and Young M.A. linked up backstage at 50 Cent’s performance at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center earlier this week. The duo appeared to be in good spirits, smiling and posing for photos together. In a new clip, Scar Lip is even heard telling Young M.A. to “Follow [her] back on Instagram,” as she exits the room. The 31-year-old New Yorker simply laughs at the request.

Young M.A. wasn’t merely there to watch the show, however. 50 Cent welcomed her to the stage partway through the show. She performed her 2017 Herstory hit “OOOUUU,” and fans went wild. Attendees were happy to see Young M.A. back in good health following her recent hospitalization. Earlier this year, she revealed to fans that she had been in treatment for some unspecified health conditions. She later took to social media to give provide followers with an update, though she left most details out.

The 22-year-old has already received co-signs from the likes of Swizz Beatz, Boosie Badazz, and even Cardi B. Earlier this summer, she opened up about how much of an inspiration Cardi has been for her. “I love her so much,” she told DJ Vlad. “She started from the bottom and raised her way to the top, [and] anybody that feels a way about that…you’re just weird. Everybody starts from the bottom. How could you not be inspired?”
