Westside Gunn’s Daughter Meets Latto Backstage

A new clip shows Westside Gunn introducing his young daughter, WS Pootie, to Latto. The two were later seen taking sweet photos together. The introduction appeared to take place backstage at Latto’s recent performance at Roskilde Festival in Denmark. Westside Gunn has been in the region as of late working on his upcoming album.

“PULLED UP Out here in COPENHAGEN,” he wrote on Twitter yesterday alongside a clip from inside the studio. Westside Gunn also explained that he was getting a verse for his album from J.I.D, who appears in the clip. “FUN FACT : 90% of this album was recorded in Europe,” he told followers, “it’s a diff vibe.” He’s also been seen linking up with Conway The Machine, Denzel Curry, and more ahead of the release.

WS Pootie Greets Latto

Lately, Westide Gunn has been gearing up for his next album, And Then You Pray For Me. It had previously been scheduled for release last week on June 23, however, it’s yet to be dropped. All fans know now about the release date is that it’s “coming soon,” based on a recent Tweet. The new LP will act as a follow-up to 2020’s Pray For Paris. The rapper previously referred to the album as “Pray For Paris 2″ in a Twitter post celebrating the 2020 LP’s anniversary. He also claimed that Pray For Paris “changed [his] life forever,” calling the album a “masterpiece.”

As for Latto, her recent performance at the 2023 BET Awards received rave reviews from critics and fans alike. She performed her hit song “Put It On Da Floor,” and the show nearly put Boosie Badazz in the hospital. She took home the award for Best Female Hip Hop Artist. Latto was also nominated for Best Collaboration for “Big Energy (Remix)” alongside Mariah Carey and DJ Khaled. Drake, Future, and Tems took the award home for their track “WAIT FOR U.”

N.O.R.E. Links Up With Chief Keef At BET Awards

Over the weekend the BET Awards happened, presenting many of rap music’s biggest stars the chance to interact. While some like JT and Lil Uzi Vert used that opportunity to start drama, others were all love. Outside the show, Capone-N-Noreaga rapper N.O.R.E. linked up with trap pioneer Chief Keef. N.O.R.E. gave Keef his flowers for “starting the movement he did.” The pair chatted for a while and paid it off with an embrace all while observers around filmed the interaction.

When the video hit social media fans agreed with N.O.R.E.’s sentiment. Comments under a post of the video agreed with his assessment of Keef’s influence. “Started a whole movement and people dont even know,” reads one of the post’s top comments. Another explains exactly how influential he’s been. “Chief definitely deserves his flowers ! 9/10 all the artists you see today were influenced by him in some way shape or form.”

N.O.R.E. And Chief Keef Cross Paths

When N.O.R.E. is in the news these days it often has to do with other rappers he’s run into. A few weeks ago he linked up backstage with Wu-Tang Clan after a show While chatting with the group he invited them to appear on his show Drink Champs. Just a few weeks before that at a different show, he ran into a different NY legend backstage, Nas. He had just recently interviewed Nas and afterward described the entire experience as “surreal.” The pair have been seen together after a handful of shows on Nas and Wu-Tang’s current tour.

Last month N.O.R.E. gave a very rare performance. He was present for the Lovers & Friends festival where he dazzled the crowd with his set. He also implied that it could be one of his last performances before retiring from live performance entirely. Backstage at that show, he linked up with even more rappers. Video of him talking to 50 Cent and Nelly backstage popped up online in the wake of the performance. What do you think of N.O.R.E. and Chief Keef linking up backstage at the BET Awards? Pharrell Vibes Out To Unreleased Clipse Song With Pusha T & Malice

It looks like Pusha T will be coming through with some heat this summer in the form of a new single from the Clipse. Although they previously linke dup on Kanye’s “Use This Gospel,” Pusha T and Malice made their formal return on 2022’s “Punch Bowl” from I Know Nigo before joining forces, once again, on It’s Almost Dry closer, “I Pray For You.” From there, the two continued to perform together and also dropped their previously unreleased debut album, Exclusive Audio Footage on streaming services.

However, at the Louis Vuitton fashion show, we received a snippet of what appears to be a new single from the brotherly duo. As Pusha T and Malice walked the runway, Pharrell debuted a new single from the Clipse that already made waves online. As much as fans are ecstatic to receive new music from the Virginia duo, many quickly picked up on what seems to be a response to Jim Jones, who suggested that Push was undeserving of his #29 spot on Billboard’s top 50 greatest rappers list.

Pharrell Vibes With The Clipse

Despite the apparent shots toward Jim Jones, Pharrell seems to be enthusiastic about the upcoming effort from the Clipse. A new clip emerged this morning of Skateboard P, Pusha T, and Malice posted up in what appears to be a backstage area where they’re bopping their heads to the songs. Pharrell, specifically, begins singing along to the hook with incredible enthusiasm. No word on when the single will arrive but we anticipate that it’ll surface sometime this summer.

The star-studded Louis Vuitton show also had Malice and Pusha T walking the runway, which is where they debuted the upcoming single. However, Pharrell also brought out even more guests at the afterparty, including Jay-Z, who was in attendance with Beyonce. The rapper joined P on stage to perform a few of their collaborations as well as records like “PSA” and his verse on Panjabi MC’s “Beware (Remix).” Check out P and the Clipse backstage above. How’s the new single sounding? Let us know in the comment section below.

N.O.R.E. Links Up With Wu-Tang Clan Backstage

N.O.R.E. met up with members of Wu-Tang Clan backstage at one of the legendary group’s concerts with Nas. In doing so, the Drink Champs host called on GZA to come on his podcast so he can give him his flowers.

“Come on Godamnit,” he remarked to the group. “I need y’all both on the show. Come on. Let’s go. I gotta give you your flowers. I’m telling you, come see me.” Wu-Tang has been traveling with Nas for their NY State of Mind tour. They recently finished up the European leg of the tour and will be returning for more shows in the United States after the summer.

In addition to meeting up with Wu-Tang, N.O.R.E. also recently linked up with Nas after the group’s Paris show. N.O.R.E. didn’t need to invite the legendary Queens rapper on Drink Champs, as he’s already appeared on the show. In fact, N.O.R.E. recently described the episode as one the most “surreal” interviews he’s ever conducted.

“That’s my brother and I never really wanted to interview him at all because he’s my brother, but the fact that he did sit down… it’s very weird to ask people questions that you don’t wanna ask them,” N.O.R.E. told HipHopDX backstage at Lovers & Friends festival in Las Vegas. “I’m not the police, and they know I’m not the police. But at the end of the day, I wanna have fun and I wanna make them surreal,” he said.

Travis Scott Attended SZA’s “SOS” Tour With “UTOPIA” Briefcase

Travis Scott has been taking every opportunity to promote his upcoming album, UTOPIA, as of late. He’s been teasing the LP’s drop using some unexpected methods, including being seen with security handcuffed to a briefcase with “UTOPIA” scratched onto it. He brought the briefcase along with him to Cannes Film Festival last month, teasing the album at the premiere of The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp’s new series, The Idol. Now, he’s brought the briefcase backstage on SZA’s “SOS” tour. New photos show the artist rocking a SZA t-shirt, while his security sits handcuffed to the famous briefcase.

Earlier this month, Travis Scott also joined SZA at her Amsterdam “SOS” tour stop. The two performed her songs “Love Galore” and “Low” together. It was recently also reported that Scott will also be featured on Lil Uzi Vert’s upcoming LP, The Pink Tape. Last month, he previewed a new track alongside Bad Bunny at a performance. The preview left fans to wonder whether or not the collab will be featured on his upcoming album.

Travis Scott Continues To Tease UTOPIA

Earlier this year, Epic Records CEO Sylvia Rhone told Billboard that fans can expect to hear the album this month. Though the album’s official release date is yet to be confirmed, fans are eagerly awaiting Scott’s latest effort. Social media users went wild with speculation earlier this month after Scott’s producer, Mike Dean, shared a photo on social media of him opening up the UTOPIA briefcase. Fan theories on the LP’s release date took over the comments section.

The artist also shared his thoughts on the meaning behind UTOPIA at the end of last month. He told Pin-Up magazine, “Utopia is something that people feel is so far-fetched and out of reach, some perfect state of mind.” He went on to say, “But you create it yourself. There are people who achieve utopia every day. They may not be the richest people with the dopest cribs, but it’s a utopia wherever they are, and that’s the most you can have.”

N.O.R.E. And Nas Link-Up Backstage After A Wu-Tang Show

For the second year in a row, Nas and Wu-Tang Clan are touring together in a massive team-up of 90s rap legends. Currently, they’re playing shows all across Europe including a show in Paris last night. Turns out there was a special guest at that Paris show, N.O.R.E. of legendary rap duo Capone-N-Noreaga. Today video made its way to social media of N.O.R.E and Nas linking up backstage after the show.

The pair look like they haven’t skipped a beat. Nas immediately lights up with a massive smile and gives a big hug to his old friend. The two New York legends meet up and discuss the show Nas performed among a number of hip-hop veterans. Just last month N.O.R.E explained how “surreal” it felt to interview Nas on his Drink Champs podcast. He also recently performed at the throwback Lovers & Friends Festival where he once again linked up with some legends backstage.

N.O.R.E hasn’t been particularly busy on the musical front. His last new single came out back in 2021 and featured verses from Conway The Machine and Method Man. Nas on the other hand has kept himself very busy with his Kings Disease series. The trio of albums has dropped once a year for each of the past three years. They’re a continued collaborative effort between Nas and producer Hit-Boy. He also received critical acclaim for his 2021 album Magic a shorter record that features A$AP Rocky and DJ Premier. This year Nas has kept busy with the deluxe edition of Kings Disease III dropping a few months ago. He’s also lent guest verses to a handful of songs including tracks by Hit-Boy and Swizz Beats.

It’s unclear if the pair have any plans to ever link up for new music together. N.O.R.E gave hints after his performance at Lovers & Friends that it may be one of his last performances ever. Whether or not he will continue making music even if he ceases to perform is yet to be seen. What do you think of the two Queens icons linking up backstage? Tell us in the comments below.

Lil Tjay Seemingly Involved In Backstage Beef At Hot 97 Summer Jam: Video

Lil Tjay listeners have been happy to see the New York native back in action over the past few months. He previously took time off to recover from his traumatizing shooting incident. The young star’s most recent performance took place in his home state on Sunday (June 4). He joined the impressive roster of artists entertaining the crowd at Hot 97 Summer Jam. Not only did Tjay pull out some of the biggest hits from his own discography, but he also brought out Ice Spice to show the world their “Gangsta Boo” collaboration for the first time live.

The Bronx-born lyricist’s set went incredibly well, but as HipHopDX reports, he appears to have run into some trouble backstage. In a video posted to TikTok by @lilmacc_, Tjay is seen being held back by a full team of security while yelling at someone on the other end of the hallway. “You’re gonna be fired!” he shouts multiple times while fighting to break free from the guards.

Lil Tjay Wants Someone Fired ASAP

It’s unclear at this time exactly who or want warranted such a reaction from the 22-year-old. Nevertheless, he appeared ready to get physical should his team not have intervened. From behind the camera, the person recording can be heard saying “N*gga popped on Lil Tjay, bro.” Thankfully nothing serious seems to have come from the altercation, which means DaBaby’s backstage run-in with a fan tops this year’s list of wildest Summer Jam moments.

Following his own performance at the festival, the “BABYSITTER” hitmaker was approached by a female fan who offered to perform oral sex on him in front of the crowd surrounding them. While he seemed to momentarily consider the offer, reaching his hand down his pants, Jonathan Kirk ultimately declined and briskly walked away with his security. Afterward, the rejected patron didn’t hesitate to lash out at DaBaby on Instagram. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Chris Brown Gets Into Verbal Altercation Backstage At Lovers & Friends Festival

With a newly surfaced video from the Lovers & Friends Festival, the story around Chris Brown keeps getting juicier. Moreover, someone filmed the R&B singer almost getting into a fight with an unknown party, exchanging harsh words with a wall of security between them. It’s unclear what prompted the verbal altercation, or if it devolved into anything physical. What we do see is a gaggle of people around him and security trying to diffuse the situation, and not much is intelligible. Given rampant rumors that he and his crew jumped Usher at Brown’s birthday party, many believe that something went down relating to that.

To theorize, perhaps Chris Brown was getting heated over people accusing him of attacking Usher just a day before the festival. After all, they both performed at the event with back-to-back sets with no issues, and with no word on the allegations. However, this new clip certainly fails to paint the “Psychic” singer in a positive light considering his history and the current headlines. Whatever happened backstage at Lovers & Friends, fans are still waiting for someone to set this story straight. In the meantime, it’ll continue to spread in the media and there might be no turning back.

Chris Brown Filmed Getting Into Heated Backstage Argument

On that note, the most prevalent theory surrounding the alleged attack on the Confessions superstar involves Teyana Taylor. According to reports from apparently close sources, Chris Brown actually had a bone to pick with her at his birthday celebration. The story goes that Teyana skipped on his Michael Jackson tribute performance at the AMAs. Reportedly, the Virginia native asked Taylor to leave, and apparently was mad at her for opting out because he believes that’s one of the factors that led to the performance’s cancellation. When things between the two got verbally heated, that’s when Usher allegedly stepped in to mediate.

No matter whose side you stand on, this is a rollercoaster of new information as we wait for gossip confirmation. Sure, some videos emerged of the alleged incident in addition to this new backstage pop-off. Regardless, fans feel nowhere near close to the truth, so we’ll see if a potential explanation from Usher or Chris Brown changes things. Latto & Doechii Reportedly Beef Backstage At Billboard Women In Music

Two dominant forces in music right now seem to have gotten in some beef at the Billboard Women In Music awards ceremony. Moreover, Doechii and Latto reportedly exchanged words backstage after Doechii mentioned Nicki Minaj in her speech, who Latto has beef with. At least, that’s how many interpreted the occurrence. Furthermore, Doechii also performed at the event, treating fans with a medley of her tracks “Persuasive” and “Crazy.” Many fell absolutely in love with the performance and gave her flowers on social media. Also, she received the Rising Star award at Wednesday’s (March 1) L.A. event, and her speech might’ve prompted some anger from the 777 rapper.

“Girl, I done danced my shoe off,” the TDE rapper said during her speech after her mother presented her with the award. In addition, she acknowledged the other Rising Star recipients that came before her like Lady Gaga, Janelle Monáe, and of course Nicki Minaj. However, she hinted at her new direction and focus in a Billboard interview ahead of the show. “By year five I want to be at my peak,” she expressed. “I want to be in my Sasha Fierce era, the top of my game with still a long way to go — but I want to reach my prime and never leave it. It’s my pop era. Usually I’m alone [in the studio], but these days I’ve been inviting people in.. So my vibe is kind of changing; it’s a lot of energy. It feels like a party.”

Doechii Performs At Billboard Before Latto Beef

Meanwhile, Latto apparently made fun of that acceptance speech by mentioning other people who won her award as well. While it’s unclear who started off aggressively, things quickly escalated from there according to insider reports. Billboard allegedly asked Latto and her team to leave the premises. As such, many believe that she made the initial approach out of anger at the speech. Still, others maintain that the Rising Star was about to “crack” the “Big Energy” artist for her mockery, so it’s impossible to say for sure. Then, Doechii shared a Live of her singing along to “Barbie Tingz” by Nicki, seemingly leaving a message for Latto at the end. However, many are saying these reports are fake, especially given that Doechii actually posted a video of her cheering Latto on to her Story. Maybe that’s a diss, but one thing’s for sure: the situation’s quite murky.

Of course, if true, it’s incredibly unfortunate to see two female MCs allegedly beef at an event celebrating women in music. Also, it goes contrary to the message of female empowerment and support that Latto recently espoused. This isn’t her only bone to pick at the moment, as rapper VVSNCE also called her out for shade. However, Latto denied any beef on Twitter recently, tweeting “Y’all arms not sore yet from all that REACHING?????????!!!” Also, she included a video of her praising Doechii and an explanation of her speech. With that in mind, let’s hope that these are healable wounds and that misunderstandings become opportunities for growth. However you may feel, check out the two’s speeches and responses down below. Let us know your take in the comments and stick around on HNHH for the latest on Latto and Doechii.

Ice Spice Reveals What It Was Like Being At Drake’s Apollo Show

Ice Spice recently talked about what it was like to be at Drake’s Apollo Theater show last weekend. While the two rappers’ public camaraderie fell under scrutiny for some alleged rifts, it seems things are cool. Moreover, in an interview with Hot 97, the “Bikini Bottom” MC spoke about her experience going to Drizzy’s concert.

“You were up at the Drake show at the Apollo,” Ebro said. “From New York, seeing him create that at the Apollo, what was that like for you, that scene? And did he invite you up?”

“Yeah, he did,” Ice Spice replied. “It was a vibe, I’m not gonna lie. The whole crowd was, like, mostly influencers and, like, celebrities. So it was, like, a good vibe. Nobody was too fanned out, everybody was just focused on the show, right? It was crazy, it was so intimate, I loved it. He was performing all his hits, you know. It was a vibe.

“How often do you guys get to speak?” Ebro asked. “I don’t know if he actually took a shot at you, or you just embraced what people were saying.”

“He didn’t, we spoke about it,” she replied. “He said that was not about me.”

“But you embraced it on social media, like, yo, ‘At least I’m a ten, though,’ or something,” the host inquired.

“Yeah, and he also appreciated that too, you know?” the MC responded. “Just being cool about it, not being no weirdo… We just linked up when my s**t dropped, when Like..? dropped. He was in the city already, I guess for, like, his shows or whatever. We ended up linking up, and we was just chatting. Like, we Gucci, bro.”

“That’s good, it’s moving slow with you, I like that,” Ebro joked, to which Spice replied “Stop it.”

Regardless, what do you think of Ice Spice’s comments about Drake’s performance at the iconic Apollo Theater in Harlem? However you may feel, let us know in the comments down below if you would’ve loved a ticket.
