Baby Keem Teases New Album During Osheaga Set

Fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from Baby Keem ever since he dropped “The Hillbillies” with Kendrick Lamar earlier this year. The song peaked at #93 on the Billboard Hot 100 and sparked a viral hunt for the Dublin Airport worker who appeared in the video. It was Keem’s first chart success since 2021’s “Family Ties”, also with Kendrick Lamar, which went three times platinum and peaked at #18.

Furthermore, fans have long awaited a follow-up to Keem’s debut studio album, The Melodic Blue. Released in September 2021, the album is certified platinum and peaked at #5 on the Billboard Album 200. It included two features from Lamar, as well as tracks with Don Toliver and Travis Scott. Well, it’s good news for Keem’s fans as there is reportedly a new album on the way.

Keem Drops Surprise Album Announcement

The surprise announcement came during Keem’s performance at the Osheaga Festival in Quebec. At the end of his set, Keem simply said “New album coming soon motherfuckers.” No other details are available at this time but it’s safe to say that fans are hyped about the reveal. “We’re so back,” one fan commented on Twitter. The Osheaga Festival continues throughout the weekend. The final day of the festival, August 6, is set to be headlined by the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Kim Petras, and Central Cee.

However, it’s not the only headline that Keem has been scoring recently. On the recently released album from JPEGMafia and Danny Brown, Scaring the Hoes: DLC Pack, JPEGMafia took a shot at Keem. “Bitch, I ain’t Baby Keem, my cousin ain’t gave me shit,” JPEGMafia said on the track “NO! (x32)”. The line is a reference to the fact that Kendrick Lamar is not only Keem’s regular collaborator but also his cousin. However, despite the claims of music industry nepotism, Keem has been able to forge his own career outside of Kendrick. Regardless, it’s likely that we will get more updates on Keem’s new project in the coming weeks. Be sure to follow all of the news about it and more here at HotNewHipHop.

Lil Dicky Dropping “Dave” Soundtrack After Eight-Year Hiatus

FX’s Dave is a rollicking good time, showcasing how rap fame and the pursuit of said fame can affect a person and their relationships. The only downside of this Hulu hit show is that Lil Dicky hasn’t released new music. The show’s creator and “rapper’s rapper,” Dave Burd, is finally coming out with an album, the soundtrack to Dave, after not doing so for eight years. His last album, Professional Rapper, is the only studio album to his credit. He also hasn’t gone on a true tour in five years. Unfortunately, TV can do that to a budding rapper.

Speaking to Variety, Lil Dicky was excited about this potential album: “It’s a really strong body of work that I’m super proud of. I was surprised when I took a step back and looked at the inventory of stuff that [has] made it into the show — ‘Oh, my God, there’s like a great album here of work that can live on its own.’” During Dave outros and credits, you can hear snippets of new, unreleased music that Lil Dicky has been hoarding. Twenty-second clips pave the way for three-minute songs on an album that’s sure to excite long-waiting fans.

What To Expect From Lil Dicky’s “Dave” Soundtrack

Lil Dicky is well-known for going meta and providing social commentary on what the rap industry is and his part in it. So it stands to reason that this upcoming soundtrack album will have some of the classic Dicky pastiche. Expect random conversations with himself, popular songs from the TV show, and a ton of appearances by Dave hypeman Gata.

The soundtrack album, set to release at the end of this summer, is Lil Dicky’s first full-length project in almost a decade. He believes there’s a full track list from the three seasons of Dave, the third and most recent season finishing its air run in May of this year. The rapper created a climate crisis-focused “Earth” collaboration in 2019 with almost everyone in music (as well as a Leo DiCaprio guest spot). He also got wide notoriety from his “Freaky Friday” single and music video with Chris Brown. Dave Burd’s continual knack for getting uber-famous people to do things has made his music and his show top-notch entertainment, as it shows a different side to these celebrities.

Nicki Minaj Confirms October Release Date For Next Album

Nicki Minaj’s last studio album, Queen, made its debut way back in 2018, boasting a 20-song tracklist and features from the likes of Eminem, Labrinth, Lil Wayne, The Weeknd, and more. Since then, the Trinidadian has been busy raising her little boy, known as Papa Bear, with husband Kenneth Petty. 2022 saw her make an impressive string of singles and collaborations, but ultimately failed to produce an album. Thankfully, Minaj confirmed via Twitter on Monday (June 5) that her fifth studio LP will arrive later this year.

“10/20/23,” she wrote in a post this afternoon, officially marking October 10th as the debut date of the untitled project. “The Album 💿🎀,” Minaj added after, making it clear she’s coming in full force this fall. It remains unclear who she plans to work with on the upcoming effort, though we’ve already heard her team up with stars like Ice Spice, NBA YoungBoy, and Kim Petras so far this year.

Nicki Minaj is Coming This Fall

Prior to 2018’s Queen, Minaj began to gain notoriety back in 2010 with Pink Friday. That tracklist boasted fan favourites such as “Moment 4 Life” with Drake and “Fly” featuring Rihanna. In the time after that, she gave fans the Roman Reloaded cut of the project, followed by The Pinkprint in 2014. The latter only brought more success the fashionista’s way, specifically thanks to collaborations like “Only” and “Feeling Myself.”

The only solo effort we’ve heard from Onika so far this year is “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” which earned her plenty of praise for expertly sampling a throwback favourite to spit her signature flow over. Elsewhere in the news, Nicki Minaj joined Sexyy Red on “Pound Town 2” at the end of last month. The remix boasts some of her most salacious bars to date, and after it dropped she penned a sweet message to the up-and-coming rhymer on Twitter. Read it for yourself at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Metro Boomin Confirms “Perfect Timing 2” Album With NAV: Video

This July will mark the sixth anniversary of Metro Boomin and NAV’s Perfect Timing project, which lit things up during the summer of 2017. Among those featured on the 17-track album are Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Offset, 21 Savage, Belly, and Gucci Mane. The most popular titles to come from the release are “Held Me Down,” “Call Me,” and “Minute,” all of which have remained in rotation for years since as fans of the Canadian lyricist and Atlanta-based producer await news of a follow-up.

Thankfully, it finally came our way this past weekend at Montréal’s Metro Metro Festival. During NAV’s set, he continued his recent tradition of surprising concertgoers with special guests. While he recently brought out Travis Scott, Lola Brooke, and Meek Mill in Toronto, his latest audience got to see him reunite with the HEROES & VILLAINS hitmaker, at which time they promised Perfect Timing 2 is on the way, though no further details were given at the time.

Perfect Timing 2 is Coming Soon, Metro Boomin Says

“Y’all make some noise for my brother, NAV,” Metro Boomin implored the audience cheering them on in Montréal. “We got that ‘Perfect Timing 2‘ on the way, n*ggas is waiting on it! Wait on it! Wait on it!” the multi-talent excitedly declared, the “Some Way” singer joining in on his chant at the end. He may not have given fans much of an idea of what we can expect to hear from him and NAV, but still, Metro is sure to be taking over speakers all across the country this summer as the various efforts he’s been pouring into as of late arrive on DSPs.

Most recently, the 29-year-old confirmed that he’ll be producing the soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which Coi Leray has already been teasing her work on via social media. Jorja Smith Announces New Album “falling or flying” For September 2023 Release

Singer-songwriter Jorja Smith has shared new details surrounding her upcoming album, falling or flying. The singer’s second LP is set for release later this year via her own label, FAMM, and fans can preorder the album now. Listeners can expect to hear falling or flying on September 29, 2023. She also took to Instagram to share the album’s cover art with her followers. The album will be Smith’s first full-length record since 2018’s Lost & Found. It also follows her 2021 EP Be Right Back, and her 2016 EP Project 11.

Smith shared in a press statement “I don’t slow down enough.” “This album is like my brain. There’s always so much going on but each song is definitely a standstill moment,” she adds about the new LP. She also shared an Instagram post today, captioned, “falling or flying, my second album! Out 29th September 2023. I can’t believe it tbh….Album cover shot by @lizjohnsonartur !!!!!”

Smith’s Second Album

The new album will feature two singles Smith also shared recently. Smith released “Try Me” in April, followed by “Little Things” earlier this month. “Try Me” was accompanied by a powerful music video directed by Amber Grace Johnson. It aligned with the song’s intense lyrics, showing Smith enacting a symbolic battle with a lover. “Little Things” took on a lighter tone, with the accompanying video featuring Smith asking people on the street what they look for in a partner. The “Little Things” video was directed by Bolade Banjo.

Smith shared that her newest single is about, “putting yourself out there, in front of a world that has many opinions.” Explaining it’s creation, she says she had “a lil’ concoction — rum, ting, and a magnum.” “It only ever used to be [her] really being [her] own critic,” she explained. Smith also went on to say, “This is the first time I’m putting stuff out there that I can connect with right now.” She recalled “imagining hearing this walking into a party and seeing someone I’d had my eye on.” The artist called the song “fun!” and “pretty self-explanatory.”

Zaytoven Reveals His Twitter Was Hacked Amid Fake “Beast Mode 3” With Future Tease

Well, it was too good to be true, wasn’t it? After word quickly spread of Zaytoven announcing Beast Mode 3 with Future, the producer took to Instagram to pump the brakes. Moreover, he revealed that someone hacked his Twitter and urged his fans to not believe anything the account is saying. While they gained hope that a trailer meant the collaborative series’ next installment was coming this year, fans now have to deal with that disappointment. In his message concerning the fake news, the Atlanta beatsmith expressed confusion as to how this could’ve happened.

“Hey, do not believe what’s going on on Twitter,” Zaytoven remarked in a video on his Instagram Story. “I don’t know who done hacked my Twitter and what they doing, I don’t know how they got what they got or why they’re saying what they’re saying. But do not believe my Twitter right now. I’m working to get it back. So, PSA, alright? I’m working on it.” In a prior IG Story post, he wrote: “My Twitter has been hacked. Don’t believe what’s being posted.” Still, this wouldn’t be the first time that he teased another Future collab album.

Zaytoven Got Hacked, And Beast Mode 3 With Future Is Seemingly Fake News

However, looking back, this news came amid a lot of previous reports that Future is working on joint projects with other producers. One of the most notable announced team-ups is his upcoming tape with Metro Boomin, who already updated fans on its status multiple times. As such, perhaps it was vain to think that we would be getting a whole lot more from the “HOLY GHOST” MC this year, but it wouldn’t be out of character, either. After all, Hendrix went on very prolific runs throughout his career, as did Zaytoven with his production work.

Meanwhile, we should at least be expecting something from the producer soon, as he promised new music after selling his catalog. Whether that’s with Pluto or other artists, only time will tell, but his credentials should inspire a lot of anticipation. Even though fans are hoping this is all one big PR stunt, it seems like dreams don’t always come true. Apologies for the earlier false coverage. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates from Zaytoven and Future.

At this point, it’s unclear what we could expect from Tyler, The Creator on the upcoming release. Though he dropped off the first single, he’s yet to release the actual tracklist. However, we’re hoping that he has some new, unexpected collaborations on the project, such as A$AP Rocky, who he said ignored his request to appear on Call Me If You Get Lost, as well as Freddie Gibbs, an artist who he’s reportedly working on a joint project with
