Meek Mill Clowned For Asking Where To Buy Gold In Africa

Meek Mill is certainly no stranger to getting clowned online. Whether it be due to ongoing rumors about the rapper, or his own tweets, it’s not often that social media users give him a break. This week was no exception, as he’s now being clowned for one of his latest posts. Yesterday (December 18), he took to X with a question for his followers. “Where can I buy gold from directly in Africa????” he asked.

Immediately, other users in his replies began to rip him to shreds, encouraging him to take his questions elsewhere. “If only you typed that in the google search bar instead of in a tweet,” one critic comments. “At this point, I think Meek just post stuff like this for engagement because why are you asking us when you’re connected to multiple millionaires and even billionaires?” another writes. This is far from the only one of Meek Mill’s tweets to get users’ attention in recent weeks, however. After UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was fatally shot earlier this month, he took to the platform to weigh in.

Meek Mill Continues To Raise Eyebrows On X

He questioned why Thompson’s death was getting so much media coverage while the deaths of countless young people in his city are overlooked. “100 kids get murdered in my hood the press stuck on one CEO ….. I will never get it! When somebody put me to the challenge I’ll collect 1000 guns off Philadelphia street without snitching just helping clean my community! I ain’t come this far for off games! Only pain and growth,” he wrote. He went on to express sympathy for the late CEO, noting how he doesn’t think any human life is worth more than someone else’s.

“Rip to that CEO too his life matters too,” he said in a follow-up tweet. “Never over looking the life of a human unless they’re a danger to society… I don’t know anything about no healthcare ceos except ‘CINQCARE’ because they are for us.”

Tiffany Haddish Defends Herself After Video Of African Grocery Store Visit Goes Viral

Tiffany Haddish caught flak for how she reacted to a grocery store in Africa, which she believes is unjustified. Haddish recently traveled to Zimbabwe, and recorded herself walking around a store, in awe of it. She commented on the store being “humongous,” and expressed delight at finding items like sugar cane and organic strawberries, hallmarks of most grocery stores in the world.

Viewers responded with a mixed reaction. Some were thankful to Haddish for attempting to contribute to dispelling stereotypes. Others made fun of her for reacting to the store as if she expected Africa to not have any grocery stores. “Tiffany Haddish, the first woman to discover a grocery store in Africa,” said a user on X. “I’m too confused on whether to laugh or feel sorry for her. It would be good to get @TiffanyHaddish to explain why she was surprised in seeing a grocery store in our beloved country? It’s not like we get our food through scavenging or hunting & gathering,” said a second user. Haddish disagrees with the more critical reactions to her post. She took to X to deliver a lengthy rebuttal to those critiques, saying that her goal was not to offend, but to “demystify” Africa as a continent. She also implored more Black Americans to make the trip.

Tiffany Haddish Responds To Negativity

This is not the first time this year that Tiffany Haddish has caught heat for a trip. Earlier this year, she went to Israel to “see what’s going on” and to “meet [her] future man.” Fans criticized that decision, as the latest conflict in the long-standing issues between Israel and Palestine has raged since last October and Haddish seemed to make a mockery of it all with her comments about intending to find a man.

Tiffany Haddish most recently appeared as Tabitha in Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Otherwise, this has been a relatively quiet year for the typically very public comedian. She recently published the memoir I Curse You With Joy, a series of essays about highlights and lowlights of her decades-long career as a comedian. The book received positive reviews from readers who appreciated its honesty. Perhaps a writer should pick her words more carefully next time.

As for people’s complaints with the video, one user on Twitter responded to MrBeast: “Oo you’re ‘ard. We don’t give a f*ck that you’re helping people we’d just rather you didn’t make 90% of the runtime shots of Kenyan children treating you like you’re god while doing the bare minimum to address issues surrounding why they need wells in the first place.” They added in a follow-up post, “NOT A SINGLE F*CKING FLEETING MENTION OF CLIMATE CHANGE.” Other fans defended MrBeast. One replied: “Many individuals are going hate you and your video content for silliest and nonsensical reasons, but keep being yourself and keep producing great content. Excellent job on the new video! It’s heartening to witness many people having access to fresh, safe drinking water.”

Lil Nas X Criticized For Tweet About “Gays” In Africa

Lil Nas X recently faced a lot of criticism on social media after he tweeted: “where do the gays be in africa i wanna come there.” Moreover, this is not like his typical funny tweets, like ones responding to claims that he’s fake gay. Rather, this message has a particularly difficult context, as Uganda just passed brutal and discriminatory anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation. Furthermore, simply identifying as anything other than straight male or straight female could land citizens in prison for ten years. In fact, it’s one of the most sweeping and damaging anti-gay laws in the world, and many are criticizing the MONTERO artist for his comment.

However, this isn’t the first time in recent memory that Nas X caught himself in hot water. For example, he recently apologized for making a joke about gender transitions on Twitter, where he posted a picture of him in a more feminine look. While backlash was swift, his apology also angered many as he seemed to respond out of anger to critics. “Apologies to the trans community,” he wrote before telling someone unhappy with his apology to “eat [his] a**.” “I def handled that situation with anger instead of considering why it was not cool. much love to you guys. sorry.”

Lil Nas X’s Inflammatory Tweet About “Gays” In Africa

Still, regardless of that spat, this tweet points to a timelier and much more dangerous issue of LGBTQIA+ discrimination across a whole country. Not only could citizens face for ten years for their identity, but citizens face imprisonment for life or even a death sentence for non-heterosexual acts of intimacy and “aggravated homosexuality.” As someone who typically champions and defends the community, many expressed disappointment in Lil Nas X’s comment.

Meanwhile, it’s unclear if that tweet was in response to said legislation or if the “INDUSTRY BABY” is unaware of the tweet’s unfortunate timing. In any case, he has yet to respond to these criticism as of writing this article. Also, this heat comes just days after his Lollapalooza performance, where he played unreleased music and seemed to have a good time. Hopefully, he can clear up his intentions with this tweet and avoid putting his foot in his mouth in the future. If not, it will be hard for many fans to see him on stage. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Lil Nas X.
