Yo Gotti has a bag for anyone who can get 42 Dugg out of prison. Hitting his Instagram story, Gotti offered up $2 million to anyone who can get the Detroit rapper out early.

“I got 2 million for any lawyer that can get Dugg out early!!” he wrote to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday (May 17). “Thanks what I want for my birthday. #FreeDoggy.”

Dugg opens with the violation that landed him in jail, “I’m in jail for going to the gun range dropping dirty and failure to appear. I didn’t steal from nobody, hurt nobody, they handling me crazy.”

“Man, I’m in this bitch heating my food up with water from the nasty ass shower,” Dugg wrote. “They don’t even give us hot water to heat food up. Ain’t no microwave, I can’t get no visits from my family, nothing. I’m sure they gone do some more illegal shit but what I ’pose to die in this bitch for probation violation?”

Due to his failure to turn himself in earlier for a previous firearms case, Detroit rapper 42 Dugg was given a year in federal prison on April 27.

According to The Detroit News, Dugg faced a maximum of five years in prison, but U.S. District Judge William Ray II kept the sentence at one year. The recommended sentence was six years. Upon release, Dugg will pay a $20,000 fine and must not use any illegal drugs.

42 Dugg has been in an Atlanta prison for nearly a year. His last moment of freedom was enjoying a Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors game in Memphis.

Rapper 42 Dugg Has Been Sentenced To One Year Behind Bars For Failing To Report To Jail By A Detroit Judge

42 Dugg’s looming legal problems have finally reached a resolution. The “U-Haul” rapper has officially been sentenced to one year in prison by a Detroit judge. Back in March, the musician pleaded guilty to prison evasion in connection with a weapons charge stemmed from his original conviction in 2010 for carjacking and felony firearms possession.

Initially, the prosecutors agreed to recommend a six-month sentence (the same length the rapper previously agreed to serve but skipped out on). However, the district court judge presiding over the case, U.S. District just William Ray II, overruled it, suggesting that the rapper could serve the maximum (five years). Now, according to the Detroit News, Dugg has formally been sentenced to one year behind bars for failing to report to jail.

In addition to the sentence, the recording artist will be required to serve three years of supervised release, pay a $20,000 fine, and refrain from using illegal drugs.

Dugg’s (real name Dion Hayes) lawyers, Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg released a statement in the sentencing memorandum, which read, “Despite his success and aspirations, Dion has struggled with mental health and substance abuse issues,” adding, “For years, he has used substances as a means of avoiding the jarring and dichotomous realities of his life — that he is a young man who grew up in a socioeconomically depressed area, who spent most of his young life imprisoned, without family guidance or schooling, and who, against all odds, became successful.”

“With such success, Dion came to face new types of difficulties — namely, remaining clear-headed, focused, and free from external influences and bad actors. Such jarring life changes have impacted him in ways he is only beginning to understand.”

As reported last month, Detroit slangspitter 42 Dugg was facing an additional. five years for a prison evasion charge and now delivers an important message via social media to all involved in the street life.

The 28-year-old rapper/trapper took to his IG page, saying,, “Ain’t no reward for keeping it real, so don’t do it expecting something in return, do it [because] you wouldn’t have it no other way!!!”

42 Dugg Speaks From Jail Following Prison Evasion Guilty Plea

After failing to complete a six month sentence for illegally carrying a firearm, 42 Dugg faces five more years behind bars and now speaks from jail after pleading guilty to prison evasion.

In one of his more recent Instagram stories, Dugg, whose real name is Dion Hayes, said, “A lot of these n****s got ‘get out of jail free’ cards.” He continued saying, “I guess ‘cause I’m turnt I gotta go through the worst!!!!” The rapper concluded by saying “Death before dishonor.”

Back in 2021, Dugg’s lawyers managed to get him a deal in which the rapper would avoid jail time for firing a gun in an Atlanta gun range in 2020, but the judge in the case revoked the plea eal and sentenced him to six months behind bars. When Dugg refused to turn himself in to do his time, he was charged with evasion and is scheduled for sentencing on May 10.

42 Dugg’s Prison Statement: “I Guess ‘Cause I’m Turnt I Gotta Go Through The Worst!!!”

Just a few days ago, fans of 42 Dugg were sad to find out that he’s facing up to five more years in prison. The rapper previously plead guilty to his charges of failure to surrender earlier this month. On Tuesday (March 28), he gave a brief update on his situation via his Instagram Story. “A lot of these n*ggas got get out jail free cards,” he ranted with white text written over a black screen. “I guess ’cause I’m turnt I gotta go through the worst!!!!!”

To conclude his message, Dugg wrote, “Death Before Dishonour, #FREEDEMBOYZ.” It remains unclear exactly who he was referring to getting “get out of jail free cards,” though he’s obviously carrying some resentment over the ongoing situation. On top of his additional time served, the 28-year-old could have to pay a hefty $250K fine, though that won’t be known for sure until a later date.

42 Dugg Facing More Prison Time

As XXL reports, Dugg was arrested in March 2020 as a part of a federal gun probe. Later that same year, he was convicted of felony possession of a firearm, and sentenced to six months at a federal West Virginia prison camp. The Detroit native’s sentence was scheduled to begin on April 12, 2022, but he ultimately failed to show up. That May, he was taken into custody by federal agents at an airport in his hometown.

At first, 42 Dugg plead not guilty, claiming sovereign citizenship which would exempt him from complying with federal law. While he surely felt confident in his defence, the court did not, resulting in the “Maybach” hitmaker’s recent plea. Five years being added to his sentence would obviously be the worst-case scenario, but it’s worth noting that the court is recommending six months for his failure to surrender. The next time we’ll see the recording artist in court is on May 10 for his sentencing hearing.
