SahBabii is one of the breakout stars of 2024. There’s no two ways about it. The rapper has been around for a decade, but his new album, Saaheem, dazzled audiences and critics alike. It even cracked Billboard 200. SahBabii is bigger than ever, which is partially why his heartfelt Christmas Eve reunion proved to be so touching. The rapper surprised his grandma by bringing her flowers, and the interaction was captured on camera.

SahBabii can be seen entering a living room where his grandmother is sitting. She’s immediately stunned at the sight of the rapper, who gives her a big hug. The rest of their family gathers around to capture this touching moment. SahBabii reportedly hadn’t seen his grandmother in 15 years. This tidbit makes their reunion even more poignant. Unsurprisingly, every person in the room, even SahBabii, has a giant grin on their face. It’s the sort of wholesome content you rarely get to see in hip hop.

SahBabii’s Family Has Played A Huge Role In His Career

Family is a major component of SahBabii’s life. Those who have been following the rapper know that he has put an emphasis on blood relatives when it’s come to the production and the content of his music. During a 2017 interview with The Fader, SahBabii revealed that his brother and his father were crucial in the making of his mixtape, S.A.N.D.A.S. “I recorded that whole mixtape out of my brother’s bedroom with a broken microphone,” he told the outlet. “I’d record myself and he’d just come in and clean it up.” Sah’s brother and father also provided input and design ideas for the mixtape cover.

The outlet inquired about SahBabii’s decision to pick up a microphone, and he again attributed it to a family member. It was his aforementioned brother, T3, who gave him the idea to try his hand at music. “I just seen him doing music all day, I just wanted to try it out,” the rapper recalled. “Everybody in Atlanta was doing music too so I just wanted to try it out, see if I can do it. He most definitely encouraged me to do music.” The support of SahBabii’s family has definitely paid off. The rapper is more popular than ever a decade into his career.

Young Thug Apologizes To Mariah The Scientist Over Leaked Prison Calls

Young Thug was dragged into an unexpected controversy on December 23. A phone call between the rapper and Instagram model Leena Sayed leaked online from 2022. The call sees Sayed voice her desire to be with Young Thug, but the rapper told her to move on. Since Thug was dating Mariah the Scientist at the time, the prison exchange is a bit awkward. Young Thug and Leena Sayed have both tried to provide clarity regarding the situation via social media, but it hasn’t quelled the speculation. And Thug seems to know it.

The rapper took to Twitter on Christmas Eve to apologize to his girlfriend. He didn’t mention Mariah the Scientist by name, but it was obvious who he was addressing. “Sorry to my baby for all this bullsh*t on the internet,” Thug tweeted. “Love u baby and f*ck em all we know what’s up with us!” The rapper had more to say on the matter after hitting send. He referred to Mariah the Scientist as his twin, and claimed that he loves the singer more than anything. “I love yo game more than life mommy..,” he added. Thug’s apologetic stance makes sense given the leaked calls that have surfaced.

Young Thug Confirms He “Loves” Mariah The Scientist

In addition to the Leena Sayed call, another Young Thug conversation surfaced during the holidays. The call saw Young Thug brag to a friend about talking to ten different women a day. “For the most part, I ain’t even been calling no other girls,” he told a friend. “I ain’t call no other girls in like a week. And I usually call at least 10 other girls when I get on the phone just to kill time.” Young Thug also claimed Mariah the Scientist can sometimes come off as though she cares “too much” about him.

“[She loves me] too much,” Young Thug asserted. “Sometimes too much. [It scares me how much] because it’s like man if I do something, if I smack something or something like that, you’d probably be devastated.” The rapper previously issued a statement in which he denied being romantically involved with Leena Sayed, but their call does not look good when paired with the rapper’s other comments. We are curious to see if Mariah the Scientist will ever break her silence on the matter.

Ice Spice Gifts Fans With “Y2K! I’m Just A Girl (Deluxe)” On Christmas

Ice Spice has had a complicated year. She was one of the biggest rap stars of 2023, and dropped her debut album earlier this year. An underwhelming first week, coupled with social media drama, has led to a dip in popularity, though. Ice Spice has been relatively quiet on the music front since the summer. But she is back for Christmas, and she’s got a lot more music. The rapper decided to repackage her debut album, Y2K!, with new artwork and handful of colorful new pop-rap bangers.

Y2K!, now dubbed I’m Just a Girl (Deluxe) has all the songs included on the original version. The bonus songs do go a long way in improving the album, though. “Hannah Montana” is a standout group cut with standout verses from NLE Choppa and DaBaby. The energy both guest rappers bring to the track does a lot to boost it, but Ice Spice’s chilled out proves to be a nice switch up. She also sounds good alongside Anuel AA on the Spanish crossover song “Popa (Remix).” It’s a direction we haven’t really gotten to hear much of, but Ice Spice acclimates better than one might expect. The solo bonus cuts are also pretty fun, including “So What?” and “Like.”

OsamaSon Clears Instagram Account After Multiple Songs Leak Online

OsamaSon has been one of the breakout stars of the 2020s. The rapper dropped his first project during the pandemic, and has steadily built a loyal fanbase ever since. His third EP, Still Slime, dropped near the beginning of the year, but fans have been waiting patiently on his third studio album, JumpOut. The road to JumpOut was complicated, however, on Christmas Eve. Several songs presumably intended to be on the album leaked online. OsamaSon responded by clearing his Instagram account.

OsamaSon’s third album is rumored to be dropping in January 2025, according to Genius. This why fans were shocked by the release of nearly a dozen new songs online the day before Christmas. It’s not really a stretch to infer that these dozen songs were meant to comprise the tracklist of JumpOut. Or at least, a sizable chunk of it. OsamaSon didn’t address the leaks. He merely cleared out the years of posts he had on Instagram. This is a common practice with artists when it comes to album rollouts. Artists like to wipe their social media as a means of signifying a new “era.” The timing of the leak is hard to ignore, though.

OsamaSon Has Suffered Massive Album Leaks In The Past

OsamaSon previewed multiple songs from JumpOut throughout 2024. A quick glance at the Genius page for the album shows 14 new songs, many of which already have transcribed lyrics. Leaks are nothing new for OsamaSon, unfortunately. The rapper has been riddled with internal leaks for the past year and a half. Genius has even compiled two different compilations titled Leaks Tape. Both were put together in 2024, and feature ten songs a piece. The site claims that OsamaSon’s team released the the compilations via an alternate Spotify account.

There was speculation that a hacker uploaded Leaks Tape. VIA Discord claimed that OsamaSon’s team were responsible for the album release, though. The source claimed that the rapper released the album as a means of obtaining streams from already leaked songs. OsamaSon’s leak situation does not appear to be getting any better. Hopefully the latest leak doesn’t cause a delay in the rollout for the upcoming JumpOut album. If you want to listen to the rapper’s last official release, though, you can do so here.

Eminem Claims Kendrick Lamar Deserves To Sweep Grammy Awards

Eminem had a big 2024. The rapper dropped The Death of Slim Shady, his most acclaimed album in years, and scored a few hit singles along the way. Em delighted fans with his rollout, too which included an interview with his titular alter ego. Eminem is likely to secure a few nominations in the rap categories when the Grammy Awards come around in 2025. The thing is, he doesn’t expect to win any of them. He declared Kendrick Lamar the favorite to win each of the rap categories. Straight up: Eminem predicts a K. Dot sweep.

Eminem was asked about the upcoming Grammy Awards during a radio interview on Christmas Eve. The rapper graciously accepted praise for his album, but felt that the competition was stiff in categories that he’d compete in. Kendrick Lamar is the number one reason why. “It’s very stiff competition,” Eminem told the host. “Kendrick’s gonna sweep that sh*t. He’s going to and he should.” Eminem’s humility should not come as a surprise. The rapper has always been open about the artists who inspire him to up his game. He cited Lamar and J. Cole as two people who have compelled him to improve as a rapper over the last decade.

Eminem Considers Kendrick Lamar “Stiff Competition”

“My role in today’s hip hop is to always try to be the best rapper,” Eminem told XXL in 2022. “That’s how I want to feel inside. That’s what I want to feel. I can’t do that until I listen to… what the f*ck did Kendrick just put out?” Eminem says that his desire to be the best rapper alive keeps him recording, and attuned to what people like Lamar drop. “I hyper-focus on people like Kendrick Lamar, Joyner Lucas, J. Cole and Big Sean,” he said. “Watching them and how the f*ck they’re doing their sh*t. Because they’re also focused on being the best rappers.”

The influence goes both ways. Kendrick Lamar has cited Eminem as an influence on his rhyming style in the past. Fans drew comparisons between the two rappers as recently as Lamar’s new album, GNX. Fans felt that Lamar was directly channeling Em on the standout cut “Reincarnated.” It’ll be intriguing to see whether Eminem’s prediction about the upcoming Grammy Awards comes true. Given how many people love GNX, it’s safe bet.

Dave Blunts got to social media to confirm that he was ditching his iconic purple tracksuit. The rapper has been seen rocking the purple tracksuit on multiple occasions, including the video to his breakout song, “The Cup.” It’s not the suit itself, according to Blunts, but rather what the suit represents in terms of a dangerous lifestyle. “It’s time to end the era of the purple tracksuit,” the rapper announced. “As I go on this journey to better my health and life. I must get rid of all things of the past and start new.” Blunts’ weight has been a talking point since he initially rose to fame.

Dave Blunts Claims To Be Starting A “New Era”

Dave Blunts was hospitalized shortly before he was set to take the stage at Juice WRLD Day in early December. The rapper posted a series of photos in which he posed on a hospital bed. He also provided a lengthy post detailing his health struggles. “I decided to go to the doctor and make sure everything was okay,” he explained to fans. “Then the doctor was like uhh n**ga?? 🤔 We gotta get you to the hospital.” Dave Blunts was released in time to perform at the event, but fan concern remains extremely high. The rapper’s appearance also became a talking point with regard to his relationship.

Dave Blunts’ alleged girlfriend, Instagram user @isabellabousaab, went viral when a DM exchange of hers was shared online. The alleged exchange saw her claim that she wasn’t actually dating Blunts, and merely used him in order to get onstage at Juice WRLD Day. Fans came to the rapper’s defense, claiming he did not deserve to be used. Hopefully Dave Blunts is able to turn his health around and continue his meteoric rise.

Tony Yayo is a hip hop veteran. He’s rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest artists of the 21st century. And one of the century’s best trolls in 50 Cent. He knows when jokes go too far, and when people need to be checked for their remarks. Tony Yayo believes Andrew Schulz went too far when he made comments about Kendrick Lamar’s size. The comedian joked about being able to sexually assault Lamar as a result of his short stature. Yayo did not think the “manhood” jokes hit the mark, though.

Tony Yayo told DJ Vlad that Andrew Schulz was mocking some very serious people. Whether it be Kendrick Lamar, pgLang or the rest Lamar’s former camp, TDE. He did not think it wise for the comedian to poke fun at the manhood of people who could effectively pull his card. “You’re dealing with real street n**gas,” Yayo posited. “That sh*t is not a game out there. N**gas on gang time.” Tony Yayo felt that the type of comments Schulz made at Kendrick Lamar’s expense were not appropriate as a result. “It could just be a joke to him,” the G-Unit artist noted. “But to street n**gas, like Top and them. Them n**gas is real n**gas.”

Tony Yayo Admitted Andrew Schulz Was A “Nice Guy”

Tony Yayo did concede that Andrew Schulz is a solid comedian. He claims to have met Schulz before, and even found his material funny in the past. “Andrew Schulz, I met him. Nice guy,” the rapper stated. “He’s a comedian… I have nothing to do with that.” Yayo proceeded to list off the different rappers that should be left alone when it comes to mockery. He hypothesized that 80% of rappers came from a hard upbringing. As such, he thinks the likes of 21 Savage and Lil Baby should not be targeted by people like Schulz.

Tony Yayo then noted the aggression that comes with a phrase like “suck my d*ck.” He claimed that men have been stabbed and killed for questioning someone’s manhood. “People get killed for that,” he noted to DJ Vlad. “We older now, so of course it’s silly. It’s been a messy 36 hours for Leena Sayed and Young Thug. A jail phone call from 2022 has leaked online, in which Sayed proclaims that she only has feelings for Thug. The rapper was dating Mariah the Scientist at the time. Leena Sayed, meanwhile, would go on to have a child with boxer Devin Haney. The duo involved in the call have taken steps to distance themselves from the leaked exchange. But rumors have continued to gain traction online. Devin Haney didn’t initially respond to the conversation involving the mother of his child. He did, however, post on Instagram a day later.

The boxer hopped on social media on Christmas Eve. He posted a photo of himself laying on a bed and eating an apple. Two designer bags are placed in front of him. It’s a photo designed to make its subject look unbothered. Devin Haney has been a talking point for Leena Sayed over the last day, so the desire to appear unfazed makes sense. The exact nature of their relationship, however, has remained a mystery to the public.

This lines up, as Sayed referred to the pro boxer as her “baby daddy.” There’s been widespread speculation, however, as to whether the couple are married. Redman Finally Delivers “Muddy Waters Too” With Star-Studded Cast

After about 27 years, we would have thought that Redman would have just let Muddy Waters Too fall to the wayside. But no, the iconic expressive New Jersey MC has delivered and in gargantuan fashion. The sequel to his 1996 classic, Muddy Waters, is a whopping 32 tracks and is just over an hour and 20 minutes. Redman didn’t skimp on features either, with Method Man, KRS-One, Queen Latifah, and Snoop Dogg being the headlining stars.

Shaquille O’Neal, Rah Digga, Naughty By Nature, and Sheek Louch are also on the roster. If this release comes as a surprise, Redman actually announced it last week on Instagram. He did so with a teaser trailer showing some behind the scenes of the album’s artwork photoshoot.
