Young Thug has bypassed the First Day Out drop and returned to music as a feature on “Dum, Dumb & Dumber” from Lil Baby’s WHAM album. The song also features Future.
On the song, Thugger declares his return, highlighting this jail stint:
“I don’t even believe I was locked up, for real, for real I was havin’ my way the whole time, fool, you know what I’m sayin’?”
In recent years, the Cleveland, Ohio-based Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame has done a better job of inducting influential acts that aren’t “rock,” in the traditional definition of the genre. In 2024, it was A Tribe Called Quest and Cher. In 2023, Missy Elliott. In 2022, Eminem. And so on.
When asked whether the name of the museum should be changed to the Music Hall Of Fame, chairman John Sykes told Vulture, “Rather than throwing the name out, [the Hall is] doing a better job of communicating to people where rock and roll came from and what it’s truly about. Once they hear it that way, they understand.”
He then gave a specific example involving Jay-Z.
“The best story to convey this was when a great friend of mine, Jay-Z, got inducted a few years ago,” Sykes said. “I was so excited. But he told me, ‘Rock is dead. It should be called the Hip-Hop Hall Of Fame.’ And I said, ‘Well, hip-hop is rock and roll.’ He goes, ‘No, it isn’t.’ And I said, ‘We’ve got to do a better job explaining it. Little Richard, Otis Redding, Chuck Berry — these artists were the cornerstones of rock and roll. If you look at the sounds over the years, those artists ended up influencing hip-hop.’ Jay-Z hemmed and hawed, but he showed up to the ceremony. That made me feel like we had done our job to communicate that rock and roll is open to all.”
Even though we are just three days into 2025, exciting things appear to be in the works for Young Thug. Honestly, it makes all the sense in the world. He’s finally done with his turbulent trial, and he also capped off 2024 by reissuing the first two Slime Season mixtapes. The beginning of his musical return got underway today with him featuring alongside Future on Lil Baby’s new album WHAM. He appears on track two, “Dum, Dumb, and Dumber,” but this will not be his only appearance. According to AllHipHop, a deluxe is set to arrive next Tuesday.
Lil Baby and Young Thug talked back and forth via Instagram Stories, with the former confirming that and another collab between them. “Chill bra the deluxe coming Tuesday it’s on thereeeee,” he promised Thugger. That should be something to look forward to, however, there’s apparently bigger fish to fry. Back in 2017, the YSL Records founder and Future created fireworks with their Super Slimey mixtape. Critically, it did okay, but it won the community over. It’s definitely got some memorable tracks such as “Patek Water,” “Killed Before,” “Mink Flow,” and more.
Wheezy Appears To Have Exposed Young Thug & Future’s Plans
Back in 2019, YSL confirmed that a second would be coming with Lil Baby and Gunna also joining the roster. However, it never materialized, and fans were left speculating whether it would ever actually arrive. One of the mixtape’s producers, Southside, revealed to Genius back in 2020 that multiple Super Slimey projects are on deck. “They’ve got four or five of them right now, ready if they wanted to,” he began. “When those two get together, they’ve got artist chemistry. They just know how to record together. They’ve got five Super Slimeys right now. All hits, if they wanted to drop them.”
Well, it seems like this might be the year we get at least the sequel. Southside, as well as Wheezy and ATL Jacob, were all in the studio together, tagging one another on Instagram Stories. A neon green “Super Slimey 2” sign in the background potentially reveals what’s being made. With Thug getting back into the swing of things and a fresh calendar in front of us, it’s the perfect time.
In 2024, Kendrick Lamar was the top dog, and he figures to be so for quite a long time. Its hard to refute that as he went on to dominate the charts and slay a giant while doing so. With his upcoming Grand National Tour on the horizon and hopes of a deluxe to GNX, 2025 should be another fascinating year for the kid from Compton. However, it seems 21 Savage has some choice words for Kendrick, potentially warning him going into the rest of the year. It all goes down on Lil Baby’s brand-new album WHAM (Who Hard As Me), which arrived to streaming earlier today.
21 Savage finds himself on track 13, “Outfit,” with his apparent diss to Kendrick popping up about halfway through his verse. “Brought Drac’ with me and it know kung fu / If I hit him in the jaw, then he gon’ sue.” The “Drac’” could just be him referring to pistol that he mentions so often in his songs. But of course, there’s always a possibility that it’s a double entendre and that he’s referring to his close ties with Drake. Then of course you have the words “kung fu,” one of Kendrick’s many nicknames and “sue” could be 21 bringing up the UMG petitions. However, with the martial art of kung fu including kicks, there’s a chance he’s mentioning how the “Drac’” has some kick when you shoot it.
Fans Are Yawning At 21 Savage’s “Diss” At Kendrick Lamar
It will interesting to see if this becomes the start of another high-profile beef. But even if he didn’t, 21 did well at getting fans to have a knee-jerk reaction. Kai Cenat thinks that there could be something to these bars; however, most fans couldn’t disagree more. “That is not no f***ing diss at Kendrick. It’s just a f***ing bar.” They continue, “and if it is a diss it’s so f***ing sneak you can’t even tell foh. Engagement farming mf get ya d*ck wet.”
We agree in part that this seems to be a bit of stretch by some. If it turns out to not be a shot, this wouldn’t be the first time 21’s words were misjudged. When Drake dropped of his 100 GB worth of files, he included a song called “It’s Up.” There, Savage said, “No rap cap come out my mouth, made a couple songs, think he hot now / Hit his a** up, he think he Pac now, broad daylight, he got shot down.” Some thought this was another shot at Kendrick, but 21’s manager shut that speculation down with DJ Akademiks.
Kai Cenat was one of many Lil Baby fans who stayed up to listen to his long-awaited new album WHAM, and by the end of the project, he had some thoughts to share. “I ain’t gon’ lie, bro, out of ten?” he remarked when asked about what he would rate the LP. “First listen? I’ma have to go with 6.5, bruh. Like, at absolute peak type s**t, I can see, like, a seven. But too much, being too nice, I think it’s a 6.5. I’ma keep it a whole stack. Probably like a six. Oh, my God, I don’t know, I don’t know. ‘Now you just hating.’ I don’t think I’m hating, bro. And them features was really good.”
Moreover, it seems like Kai Cenat was conflicted about how to score Lil Baby’s WHAM, especially with the context of another album being on the way. It’s tough to score immediately after a first listen, and we’re sure that the album will grow and evolve into a more solidified opinion and position. After all, some of people’s favorite projects these days did not hit that way for them immediately.
Regardless of how Kai Cenat would assess the quality of WHAM overall, he’s correct in pointing to impressive features on the album. “Dum, Dumb, And Dumber” is probably the biggest example of that thanks to Future and the first official Young Thug verse since his release from jail. It’s a slower flow than we’re used to hearing from Thugger, but it eventually finds a nice pocket that he skates with. Pluto does his thing to a similar degree as well, starting off by following Thug’s lead and keeping the momentum of the track as active as he can.
Maybe you agree with Kai Cenat’s assessment of WHAM, or you think that Lil Baby kicked off the year on either the best or most boring note possible. Either way, the “Streets Colder” MC has more on the way and plenty of time for this project to burrow itself into your ears, so we’ll see how its public reception and fan acclaim evolves over time.
The first rap beef of 2025 is Cam’ron vs. Elliott Wilson? To wrap up 2024, Wilson hit the New Rory and Mal podcast and called out Cam’s It Is What It Is sports show.
“Everybody’s media. … Cam’ron running around like he’s Stephen A. Smith,” Wilson said.
He added, “Why is he a sports journalist? Because he has an opinion?” and “I don’t like that shit.”
And then the onslaught from Cam and the team came, dubbing Wilson as “washed.”
In the comments, they added: “Y’all do us a favor and go to that page and flame him on the first post yall see, we gone show him WE not the 1’s or the 2’s FU*K IS WRONG WITH HIM… @elliottwilson WHAT’s POPPING KERMIT!!!”
New Bae for Offset? Weeks after celebrating his birthday with Cardi B, Offset was seen in Dubai smooching on a different woman. “Everything in 2024 get left in the past, n—a. We getting big cash, n—,” Offset said in a stream.
Luxury fashion enthusiasts are buzzing over Walmart’s latest viral sensation: the KAMUGO Genuine Leather Handbag, a budget-friendly knock-off of the iconic Hermès Birkin bag. Priced under $80, these lookalike handbags have taken TikTok by storm, sparking debates over authenticity, accessibility, and the growing market for designer dupes.
The “Walmart Wirkin” Phenomenon
Dubbed the “Walmart Wirkin” by social media users, the bags gained traction during the holiday season, selling out online and in many stores. The KAMUGO handbag, available in vibrant shades like green, orange, blue, and iron gray, bears a striking resemblance to the Hermès Birkin—an iconic status symbol that retails for $10,000 to over $100,000, with resale values even higher.
For luxury aficionados, owning a Hermès Birkin is a mark of exclusivity and wealth. These bags, named after actress and singer Jane Birkin, are not readily available in Hermès stores. Shoppers often face months-long waitlists, even after securing a coveted spot for purchase.
TikTok’s Role in the Hype
The affordable alternative exploded in popularity on TikTok, with influencers showcasing the bags and offering mixed reviews. Instagram models flaunted the trendy knock-offs, while others issued warnings about being duped into thinking they were genuine Hermès products.
One TikTok user even shared tips for spotting the differences between authentic Birkins and their less costly counterparts, underscoring the importance of distinguishing real luxury from imitators.
A Growing Demand for Accessible Luxury
The success of the “Walmart Wirkin” highlights a larger trend of consumers seeking luxury-inspired fashion at accessible price points. While celebrities like Megan Thee Stallion, Kim Kardashian, and Cardi B have insider access to Hermès, everyday shoppers are finding creative ways to emulate high fashion without breaking the bank.
What’s Next for the “Wirkin”?
As of now, all variations of the KAMUGO handbag are sold out online, and Walmart has yet to announce if or when they will restock. The retailer’s silence only fuels the intrigue, leaving many wondering if the viral frenzy will prompt a larger wave of luxury-inspired dupes at affordable prices.
For those unable to afford or access the real thing, the “Walmart Wirkin” offers a playful nod to luxury’s unattainable allure—proving that fashion is, at its heart, about self-expression rather than price tags. Whether you’re team Hermès or team Wirkin, one thing is clear: the power of a good bag transcends labels.
