KRS-One wants more love shown to our Hip-Hop legends while they are still alive. Speaking on Fatman Scoop, KRS feels the tributes should have poured in before now.

“It’s a shame we’re talking about him in this way,” KRS said. “Hip hop gotta stop doing that. Only when dudes pass, that’s when they get honored. We should’ve been looking at Fatman Scoop when his career was blowing up. He never got played on no stations or nothing, only DJs that knew would throw his music on.”

Isaac Freeman III, aka Fatman Scoop, legendary DJ and figure within the Hip Hop community, tragically died last week.

The heartbreaking revelation came from Freeman’s tour manager @itspurecold who posted on Insragram:

“I am honestly lost for words… You took me all over the world and had me performing alongside you on some of the biggest and greatest stages on this planet, the things you taught me have truely made me the man I am today. Thank you so much, I love you x.”

In another post from the Reminisce Festival, an event that had Mr. Freeman III scheduled to perform just next week on Sept. 7 added:

“It is with the deepest sorrow that we at Reminisce have received the devastating news of the tragic passing of the legendary Isaac Freeman III, known to us all as Fatman Scoop. This loss has left us all heartbroken.”

YSL RICO Trial: Lil’ Woody’s Testimony Makes Young Thug Laugh Out Loud in Court

Due to Lil Woody’s testimony, the YSL RICO trial has had more funny moments. This time, even Young Thug couldn’t resist the laughter.

While on the stand, Lil Woody deflects a question about Rich Homie Quan to Young Thug: “Thug, did you have an issue with Rich Homie?”

He then directed a response to the prosecutor, “I’m answering you. I just told you several times.”

Lil Woody’s testimonies in the YSL trial get more insane by the day. When reading a transcript, Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steel, would not say the n-word, which Woody caught on to and asked what “N” was during a court session.

“What is ‘n,’” Woody said to the word’s spelling. “Oh ‘nigga.’”

Earlier this month, the Georgia Supreme Court suspended attorney Jonathan Reuven Melnick for six months due to conduct unrelated to the ongoing trial. Huh, what, wow. 

As a result, witness Kenneth Copeland, also known as Lil’ Woody, appeared in court on Tuesday without his attorney—like, no lawyer at all. 

During his testimony, Copeland repeatedly responded to Assistant District Attorney Simone Hylton with the phrase, “I don’t recall.”

Get this: Melnick’s suspension was confirmed by a Georgia Supreme Court decision that was released on Tuesday morning. The court order stated, “Accordingly, it is hereby ordered that Jonathan R. Melnick is suspended from the practice of law in Georgia for six months. The suspension based on this opinion will take effect as of the date this opinion is issued and will expire by its own terms six months later.” The State Bar of Georgia’s directory lists Jonathan Melnick as suspended for “non-compliance” with Continuing Legal Education rules, rendering him ineligible to practice law in the state.

So what’s interesting is that after spending most of the morning on the stand, Copeland refused to continue testifying upon learning of Melnick’s suspension, insisting on having legal representation present.

Judge Whitaker, probably as frustrated as everyone else, responded by dismissing the jury for recess and committed to securing a public defender for Copeland in Melnick’s absence. When the court reconvened, Whitaker announced that the appointed attorney would not be available until the next day, meaning Copeland’s testimony could not proceed.

The first 2024 presidential candidate who can help Boosie Badazz will likely get his vote. Hitting X, Boosie revealed he would like a pardon from either Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump ahead of their election.

“My case got dismissed for a ruling that was made n the 9th circuit court .2 weeks later the ruling gets vacated,” Boosie wrote. “SMH soon as I celebrate the law is vacated GTFOH I got some powerful people who hate me with every bone n they body.

“I was sent to prison for 10 years for 3rd marijuana. For being a user lol no rehab ,no probation sent straight to prison .at this point i need a parden [sic] from whoever wins @vp @realdonaldtrump.”

Lil’Kim to Headline 33rd Annual AIDS Walk Atlanta Music Festival and 5k Run

Multiple award-winning rapper and hip-hop icon Lil’ Kim is set to headline the 33rd annual AIDS Walk Atlanta Music Festival and 5k Run, presented by AHF Pharmacy. The event aims to raise awareness and funds in the fight against HIV/AIDS, on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA. Singer-songwriter and DJ Durand Bernarr will kick off the concert following a 5K run/walk through Atlanta’s historic midtown community.

Hosted by AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the world’s largest nonprofit HIV/AIDS healthcare organization, AIDS Walk Atlanta Music Festival, and 5k Run raises over $1 million annually for 13 local HIV/AIDS service organizations. Previous headliners for the event have included stars such as Ashanti, Ludacris, Monica, Sevyn Streeter, Wale, and Trina.

This marks Lil’ Kim’s second collaboration with AHF to promote HIV/AIDS awareness, following her headline performance at the 2021 Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale.
