Master P wants Kendrick Lamar to bring out Lil Wayne for his headlining set during the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The NFL announced the “Not Like Us” rapper will be performing at Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, as the league kicked off Week 1 of the 2024 season. “Salute to Kendrick Lamar for performing at the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX.. well deserved,” the legendary rapper wrote on Instagram in response to the news. “He’s one of the hottest music artists in the world and has one of the biggest songs right now.”

He continued: “As Ambassador of Entertainment in the City of New Orleans I have to agree with the fans that Lil Wayne should be a part of this celebration as well. He’s one of the greatest Hip Hop artists alive, still relevant and he’s a New Orleans native. Let’s not miss this cultural moment in the South. Life is too short! We have to give our legends their flowers while they are here. #Godisgood Change starts with us.” He finished by tagging the NFL, JAY-Z, and the Mayor of New Orleans, LaToya Cantrell.

Lithe Teams Up With Lil Tjay For “Fall Back”

In July of this year, Melbourne-based artist Lithe unleashed his latest EP, What Would You Do? The project includes his track “Fall Back,” which he unveiled as part of a two-pack earlier this year. Last month, he dropped a remix of the fan-favorite song featuring NAV. Now, he’s released yet another version of it featuring none other than Lil Tjay.

Lil Tjay’s verse is a welcome addition to the laid-back song, as he walks effortlessly on the beat and matches the pace well. He spits about reserving his “positive energy” for himself, so as not to put all that he’s worked for at risk. It arrives alongside an accompanying music video which shows them hanging out in the studio, onstage performing, counting cash, and more. The release follows various singles Lil Tjay has released in recent months including “No No,” “Took A While (Be Us),” and “Fed Up” with Kay Flock. It also dropped the same day as his new track with Shiva, “Replay.”

The collab comes after Lil Tjay released his album 222 last year, which boasts various high-profile features from the likes of NBA YoungBoy, Summer Walker, Jadakiss, and more. What do you think of Lithe dropping a new version of “Fall Back” featuring a verse from Lil Tjay? Will you be adding it to your playlist or not? What about its accompanying music video? Share your thoughts in the comments section and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates. Check out the song and its video down below.

Jay Worthy & MadeinTYO Get Wavy & Woozy On New Single “Nino”: Stream

Jay Worthy and MadeinTYO have shared another taste of their upcoming EP, which they both rap on and which TYO produced. After the single “Master Delux,” they returned with a gorgeous, luxurious, and focused new offering, “Nino.” It’s a short minute-and-a-half, but it packs in plenty of compelling lyricism and captivating instrumental moments. Most importantly, it really values quality over quantity, as the loop and sonic pallet here is so engrossing that it leaves you wanting more.

As far as the content, Jay Worthy and MadeinTYO mostly keep things street, boastful, and appreciative. It’s certainly a fitting approach for this production, which is bolstered by woodwinds, chimes, strings, and some subtle hand percussion. It’s a bit of a contrast to Jay’s recent G-funk-centric Magic Hour, whereas the variety found in Made’s TYO 808 hinted toward this approach along with many other styles. All of that’s to say that there are plenty of amazing signs pointing to this EP’s potential greatness, so we’re very excited to spin it whenever it drops.

Elsewhere, if you’re looking for more MadeinTYO production, we’d recommend you check out Ransom’s SMOKE & MIRRORS EP. Rihanna Showed Her Support Of Kendrick Lamar’s Selection For The Super Bowl 2025 Halftime Show, Despite Online Backlash

Usually this early into the NFL season, diehard football fanatics debate which team will go all the way. Well, this year things are a bit different. Instead of sports fans nearly coming to blows over their favorite franchise, it is the music fans popping off.

Today (September 8), Kendrick Lamar announced that he would perform at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. While users online, including Lil Wayne’s longtime engineer Fabian Marasciullo, weren’t a fan of his selection, he did receive one notable co-sign. Over on Instagram, Rihanna showed her support of Kendrick Lamar by liking his reveal post (viewable here).

As the record-breaking headliner for Super Bowl 2023, Rihanna knows a thing or two about the football’s biggest stage. Still, users online are not buckling from their stance.

Many pointed about that the coveted show tapped Usher for Super Bowl 2024’s Halftime Show following his groundbreaking dominance in Las Vegas. Since, Super Bowl 2025 in New Orleans, Lil Wayne should’ve been selected for the slot. Back February, during an appearance on YG and Stevie’s 4HUNNID podcast, Lil Wayne made it crystal clear that he would be down if asked. He also expressed how sentimental the moment would be giving that NOLA is his hometown and where his career started by way of the Hot Boys.

Laila! & Queen Naija Take The Reins On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

Welcome to autumn, where the influx of new R&B-related tracks isn’t slowing down. Moreover, we’ve got our latest R&B Season playlist update here to round up the best of the best around the genre that came out this week. This time around, we wanted to first shout out the new Laila! album, Gap Year! It’s a 17-track of some really funky and lush bedroom pop mixed with R&B-style vocal melodies, infectious basslines, airy deliveries, and a lot of fun-loving charisma. As one of the rising stars within the game this year, she’s displaying her versatile talents even more here thanks to excellent cuts such as “Want 2.”

On a more classic R&B tip, we have the new Queen Naija single “Good Girls Finish Last.” It’s another example of acoustic guitar balladry, but the earthy percussion pattern does a lot to separate it from the more sad and down-trodden style associated with that archetype. Some harmonious backing vocals and a tight lovelorn narrative also help to center this track into more of its own identity. If you’re looking for some tender jams this week to soothe you, then this should be right up your alley.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist: Stream

Another project we wanted to highlight on this R&B Season update is RINI’s new seven-tracker, Lucky 7. Its sonic character is mostly built around dreamy guitar tones, softly buzzing bass, crips drums, and an overall atmospheric approach to indie and R&B fusions. One particular standout is “Far Away,” whose chime embellishments and measured vocal approach closes the project out quite well. But don’t let that fool you: the rest is just as worth it.

Finally, we’d be remiss not to mention the genre-fusing full-length from Fred again.., ten days. While not all of it takes influence from R&B, as it’s mostly an electronic experience, “fear less” with Sampha is among its most interesting and well-developed experiments. Let us know what your favorite R&B Season inclusion was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. As always, stick around on HNHH for the latest music drops around the clock.

Queen Naija Laments How “Good Girls Finish Last” On New Single: Stream

Even Big Meech is a big fan of Queen Naija’s music, and her R&B sensibilities should make that come as no surprise. Moreover, she just released another helping of that with the tender “Good Girls Finish Last” single, a guitar-led ballad about finally realizing that you need to get out of a relationship where your love isn’t being validated. Thanks to some heavenly backing harmonies and a simple but crisp percussion pattern, this is one of those last rays of summer sun before autumn fully sets in.

It’s actually been some time since we’ve heard from Queen Naija in a more lengthy fashion, whether in a collaborative or solo sense. Her last non-song release on her own was the November EP After The Butterflies, which had some standout cuts like “No Fake Love” with NBA YoungBoy. Maybe the near future will hold another album or shorter project that this and other possible singles could lead up to. But at the end of the day, we won’t know until it happens.

With that in mind, we look forward to hearing more gentle and captivating material from the “Let’s Talk About It” singer. If you haven’t heard Queen Naija’s “Good Girls Finish Last” yet, find it on your preferred streaming service or check it out on YouTube below. Down there, you can also find some notable lines and the comments section for you to leave your thoughts on the record. As always, come back to HNHH for more great music releases around the clock.
