Cardi B Announces She Has Given Birth To Her Third Child, Just Weeks After Revealing She Was Pregnant
Just over a month ago, Cardi B confirmed that she was pregnant with her third child. It turns out she was pretty far along at the time, as she confirmed today (September 12) that she has given birth.
She revealed the news with a gallery of photos and videos on Instagram. The post shows that Offset and their shared children Kulture and Wave were at the hospital with Cardi.
In the post caption, Cardi confirms she gave birth on September 7 and also writes, “The prettiest lil thing.”
When Cardi announced her pregnancy, she wrote, “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”

Rap Or Hoops, Flau’jae Johnson Knows How To Play The Game
The biggest strength of Flau’jae Johnson’s game? Her vision, on the court and in the studio.
The 2023 NCAA Champion, LSU guard, and rising rap star saw how nurturing her two passions – music and hoops – could help her pave her own path to success from an early age. She was spitting lines as young as age seven, performing in clubs around Savannah, Georgia and entering massively popular TV competitions like America’s Got Talent while practicing in the paint, developing her skills to catch the attention of Coach Kim Mulkey at the beginning of her high school career. In everything she does, on the stage and in the arena, there’s a strategy, a playbook, a game plan to reach the next level.
Just ask Lil Wayne.
In a new episode of UPROXX’s Beyond The Game, host Jeremy Hecht sat down with Johnson to chat about her meteoric rise in the worlds of music and sports and the smart strategic moves she has made along the way.
After giving WNBA legend Sue Bird a shout-out for introducing the Young Money mogul to her music during an interview on her ESPN talk show, Johnson mapped out how she seized her moment, initially connecting with Wayne on social before showing off her lyricism to one of his beats on a Sway In The Morning freestyle. The viral posts, the song selection, her choice of fit (a Tha Carter IV tee) – it was a play Mulkey herself might’ve drawn up, and it scored her a collab with the hip-hop icon.
“I had it all planned out,” Johnson tells Hecht in the video above. “This is going to go viral, he’s going to see it, and that’s what happened. It was all strategy. I gotta inspire him to want to do it.”
That hustle mentality is something Johnson was born with. The daughter of the late Camouflage, a promising young rapper from Savannah who died before his daughter was born, Johnson has always been determined to make her mark. She gained a following at an early age thanks to her reality competition appearances, working with Jermaine Dupree on a talent series that got her industry attention, but when music seemed to stall and basketball courted her, Johnson’s circle never let her give up on her initial dream. She credits her family – her mom, grandmother, and siblings – for believing in her multihyphenate abilities, and herself for making the choice to be more. More than just a rapper. More than just a basketball player. But instead, a cross-cultural icon-in-the-making.
“The price of regret is worse than the pain of getting it done right now,” Johnson told Hecht of the mentality she’s adopted to juggle the demanding schedules of collegiate ball and on-the-rise artist, adding she’s often guided by a simple question, “Are you going to be great today or are you going to be mediocre?”
That word doesn’t seem to fit all the young star has accomplished so far, from SEC titles and NCAA trophies to collaborations with Wayne and Wyclef Jean who’s dubbed their partnership in the booth as, “like Shaq and Kobe.” It certainly doesn’t describe Johnson’s no-holds-barred chat with Hecht where she recounts her unlikely beginnings as a rapper and ball player, her reality TV run, her fearlessness and setbacks, the artists she admires, and the songs that get her hype.
Nothing is off the table, in the episode and in terms of Johnson’s potential.
Charlamagne Tha God Has A Meesage For Kendrick Lamar
The hip-hop world is ablaze today thanks to Kendrick Lamar’s new song, with every corner of the culture chiming in either with a dismissive “No thanks” or enthusiastic breakdowns. Many folks wonder whether this is a Drake diss, an album rollout kickoff, or something else entirely. But the main point of discussion for many in the rap game is all the criticism that K.Dot has for the culture: the media industries, the consumers, the influencers, etc. Well, The Breakfast Club discussed this new untitled track, which is going by many names in the discourse right now. Charlamagne Tha God’s take was particularly interesting because of its assessment of Kendrick’s goals.
“It’s very dope,” Charlamagne Tha God said of Kendrick Lamar’s new song. “Like you said, Lauren, I don’t believe the record is just about Drake. I think he’s talking about just the culture. People in the world, society, the industry, media. And I’ma tell you something, Kendrick: you gon’ drive yourself crazy, okay? The only thing you can do is continue to be the change you want to see in the world. ‘Cause this ain’t stopping no time soon. It’s just not. You know what I mean? *laughs* We’re too far gone. Like, God himself would have to come back, and even then, they would not believe it! *laughs* Even then, man, Wu-Tang’s ‘Triumph’ could start playing and a big toe could come from the sky and Jesus himself could come down, and they would make him have to prove himself. ‘That ain’t walking on water, that’s A.I.’”

Charlamagne Tha God Speaks On Kendrick Lamar’s New Song
Of course, this is a pretty common sentiment online, at least for those that agree with Kendrick Lamar’s thoughts on the culture. Many see the fight for hip-hop’s “soul” as a losing battle, much like what Charlamagne Tha God expressed. But there are hundreds of turns of phrases we could use here to symbolize that change doesn’t happen overnight. It’s clear that there’s still a lot more left in this saga that will inform this move.
Meanwhile, a lot of folks wonder what Kendrick Lamar’s next move will be. While this seems like a pretty surefire album rollout, we also can’t really predict anything when it comes to him. With that in mind, we’ll just have to be patient and stay on our toes.

DJ Akademiks Says He’s “100% Sure” Young Thug Will Be Found Guilty
Last month, republican Fulton County D.A. candidate Courtney Kramer took to Twitter/X to announce that she’d free Young Thug if she got elected. The rapper has been locked up for over two years on RICO charges and is currently in the middle of a high-profile trial. While her promise certainly got a lot of attention online, many don’t believe she stands a chance against current D.A. Fani Willis.
This includes DJ Akademiks, who weighed in during a recent interview with VladTV. According to him, most voters think that Willis is doing a good job of reducing local crime rates, and want to see her reelected. Moreover, he believes that Young Thug will ultimately be found guilty.

DJ Akademiks Discusses Young Thug’s Ongoing RICO Trial
“As far as the trial, sh*t show,” he explained. “What’s most likely gonna happen, I 100% do believe that he’s gonna be found guilty. They’re throwing everything and the kitchen sink… So much taxpayer money has gone into it, they don’t want to do a mistrial at this point. I think it’s gonna be guilty but I think it’s gonna be overturned on appeal, and I think once it’s overturned on appeal, absolutely not they will not try it again.”
While it remains to be seen whether or not Ak is correct, most can agree with his “sh*t show” remark. Now that Lil Woody is off the stand, the trial has been making fewer headlines than usual, but some moments have stood out. Recently, for example, Young Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel said in court that he sees himself as a civil rights leader. What do you think of DJ Akademiks theorizing that Young Thug will be found guilty in his RICO case? Do you agree with him or not? What about his comments about Fulton County D.A. Fani Willis? Hotboii Celebrates Prison Release Three Years After RICO Conviction
The Florida hip-hop scene got some heartening news this week, as reports emerged that Hotboii has been released from prison. For those unaware, he had turned himself in back in July of 2021 on RICO charges against him and almost three dozen other alleged gang members in the state. Following his conviction, the rapper served around three years of jail time, during which he still released plenty of music from behind bars. Still, the circumstances around this release are still pretty murky, so we encourage you to keep your eyes peeled for any significant updates. After all, this story is still developing and in its early stages in the press cycle.
Furthermore, the last we heard from Hotboii before this reported prison release was the October 2023 track “NASA” produced by ATL Jacob. New music releases became understandably scant ever since he turned himself three years ago, but the fact that they never completely disappeared is at least admirable or satisfying for fans. Other artists don’t connect to the outside world during their terms at all, and others flood the market with their moves in almost unrealistic ways.

Hotboii Reportedly Released From Prison
Clearly, Hotboii doesn’t really fall into any of these two categories, and his case might not compare easily to others in the rap world. For example, this RICO case involved a lot of individuals, and we still don’t know the extent to which his actual career was a factor. Nevertheless, the Orlando native will probably make a more official comeback, perhaps through a track or two. In fact, maybe he follows up 2022’s Blinded By Death quickly with a new album, shorter project, or perhaps something else entirely.
In any case, congratulations are in order. We wish Hotboii the best with his newfound freedom, and hope he can reconnect with family and loved ones with peace and joy. We’ll see what happens with his career, and whether or not the “Throw In The Towel” MC decides to re-plant his flag ASAP or eschews the spotlight altogether. We can’t say we could blame him either way. Since this story still needs further development, make sure to keep an eye out for the next update.

Nicki Minaj Drags Stephen A Smith For Defending Jay-Z Amid Super Bowl Controversy
Over the weekend, Kendrick Lamar announced that he’ll be headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans in February. While many fans were happy to hear the news, particularly after the massive year he’s had, others were outraged. Immediately, social media users began to sound off about what some believed to be a slight against Lil Wayne, who’s from New Orleans. This included Nicki Minaj, who took to X earlier this week to go off on Jay-Z and Roc Nation for the decision.
“Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego,” she wrote in part. “Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!!” Her rant didn’t sit well with Stephen A Smith, who responded on his show.

Nicki Minaj Goes Off On Stephen A Smith
He called Nicki out for having beef with so many people, claiming that she didn’t have to drag Jay-Z simply because she didn’t agree with the choice. “Every time we turn around it’s something, Nicki,” he said. “You disagree with the decision… but you have to talk to a brother like that?” Now, she’s taken to X to respond and didn’t hold back in the slightest. She even jokingly confused Smith with Shannon Sharpe, who went viral yesterday for accidentally going live on Instagram during sex.
“Oh look yall another paid laughy taffy alien who only comes off his knees to turn around & back dat azz up. LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Stephen, we don’t care. Ima tell u right now. We don’t care. If I say more it’ll be your fault. Sit down ugly,” she wrote. “Stephen wasn’t you just moanin & groanin on live in your bedroom ? LMFAOOOO. And since we here in women’s business…ladies; when should men just shave their full head? Should it take its normal course like SAS Sassy ass or should he look into lace fronts?” What do you think of Nicki Minaj going off on Stephen A Smith on X? Last month, Trippie Redd and Coi Leray revealed that they’re back together following a contentious 2019 breakup. The split even inspired Trippie’s fan-favorite track “Leray,” which appears on his mixtape A Love Letter to You 4. On it, he detailed the ups and downs of their relationship and some of the reasons they decided to go their separate ways.
