During an interview with The Shade Room, DJ Hed gave his definitive take on the Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne Super Bowl debacle. “I mean, I don’t like the comparisons,” he began. “I don’t like the negativity around it, I don’t think it’s needed. For people who are completely self-absorbed and people who are selfish in a certain way – ‘Cause it’s The Shade Room: I’m not talking about Nicki, Drake, Stunna or nobody like that. I’m just saying that the Internet and the fans and people cause these types of disruptions. I think it’s unfair taking away from people’s moments.

“When you look at Lil Wayne, Lil Wayne is one of them ones in a real way,” DJ Hed continued. “This is not to diminish his legacy or take away from anything that he’s done culturally or musically. He’s a legend. All of these dudes is his sons. That’s a fact, right? So because all of these dudes is his sons, I think he’s owed that respect. However, the Super Bowl performance has never been indicative of geography. That just recently became a thing because of cultural awareness.

DJ Hed Speaks On Kendrick Lamar & Lil Wayne Debate

“We’ve all been in rooms where we’re the only person who looked like us in those rooms,” DJ Hed went on. “So whenever you’re in these situations, I think you have an opportunity to speak culturally. When you look at what’s happening recently with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg at the Super Bowl, that was more or less curation. Being culturally aware. ‘Hey, this might be a good idea. Rappers have never been at the forefront, or hip-hop has never been at the forefront on a stage like this.’

“I don’t think it’s about geography,” DJ Hed concluded. “Just ’cause it’s in Atlanta doesn’t mean Future is the one that needs to perform. Just because it’s in Detroit doesn’t mean that Eminem needs to perform. The teams who are playing, who earned the right to compete in the Super Bowl with no round twos, those teams are not even from the city that they are playing in. So I don’t like that mixed messaging that people are conflating the two. Also, if you want to keep it real, who’s had a better year than Dot at this point?“

In the mystical teaser, Meg takes on the form of a butterfly. “Stay tuned hotties,” she captioned the post.

Obviously, the Hotties are very much tuned in, and can’t wait to see what else Meg has up her sleeve. For now, it remains unclear exactly when they can expect to hear Megan: Act 2, though they’re hopeful it’ll be sooner rather than later. The first installment of the album was unleashed in June of this year, shortly after she embarked on her “Hot Girl Summer” tour.

Megan Thee Stallion Prepares To Unleash Second Installment Of Megan

The news arrived just after Meg hosted the VMAs this week, paying homage to both Beyonce and Britney Spears with two of her looks, as well as a yellow python. It also follows the release of her new track with RM of BTS, “Neva Play.” She also teamed up with Travis Kelce and other NFL players for a Pepsi ad earlier this month, which featured her remix of Queen’s 1977 hit “We Will Rock You.” Aside from all of these major developments in her career, Meg has also been making headlines for her relationship with the Chicago Bulls’ Torrey Craig.

She seemingly hard-launched her relationship with the NBA star late last month with a fun and since-deleted TikTok video. They were also spotted together in New York City last weekend, further fueling the rumors that they’re an item. FKA Twigs Unveils “Eusexua,” The Lead Single On Forthcoming Album

FKA twigs released the lead single for the upcoming project EUSEXUA, her first studio album since 2019’s MAGDALENE. The track, produced by Eartheater and Koreless, is familiar ground for fans of her work. It’s a gorgeous, if somewhat dense, trance/art pop track. twigs took to Instagram to share more details about the conception of EUSEXUA, describing a rave she attended in Prague where she invented the word. She calls EUSEXUA a “practice,” “a state of being,” and “the pinnacle of human experience.” Additionally, twigs called the forthcoming album her opus and “a pin at the center of the core of my artist.” She’s proud of her new work, and clearly looks forward to her fans hearing what she has to say.

In between MAGDALENE and EUSEXUA, fka twigs kept busy. She released Caprisongs in 2021, a mixtape that featured the track “Tears In The Club” with The Weeknd. twigs spoke in front of the United States Congress about the future of artificial intelligence. Specfically, she requested regulations on the rapidly evolving technology. She also inked partnerships with Calvin Klein and On Running. Earlier this year, she posed for CK in a photoshoot that the UK Advertising Standards Authority briefly banned. Recently, she co-starred in the remake of The Crow, marking her first foray into acting. The film received negative reviews. twigs has long been one of the most enigmatic minds in music today. Woman’s Young Thug Tribute Sparks Relationship Rumors As Fans Tag Mariah The Scientist

Since Young Thug is unfortunately still behind bars, we can’t really get many life updates from him that fall outside of his RICO case alongside YSL. As such, whenever they do allegedly pop up, they always have to come accompanied by a huge grain of salt. The latest example of this is an Instagram tribute to Thugger from a woman named Daisy, writing “Free Jeffery” and a rendition of a snake in a pool full of flowers. Of course, this prompted a whole lot of relationship rumors and speculation that he had another woman in his life that wasn’t his girlfriend, Mariah The Scientist.

As such, fans tagged Mariah in this post incessantly, but this is all too unclear and vague to really call either way. We know that Young Thug has had many partners in the past, and it’s impossible to know who he’s still in contact with. The last development that we got concerning his RICO case is DJ Akademiks’ belief that he will be found guilty. Other than that and other social media discussions, not much has happened over the past week or so.

However, no matter how much or how little happens in court, we know that Mariah The Scientist has always been there to support Young Thug through it all. In fact, she even formed part of a big development in this story when a jail call between the couple leaked online. They were very flirtatious during it, leading to a lot of memes on social media. Still, both took it in stride, and we haven’t gotten a whole lot of new information on their bond since then beyond Mariah’s recent court appearance to support her boo.

We’ll see what happens with Daisy and whether or not there’s some spicy tea to uncover. The most likely scenario is that we’re just exaggerating and reading too deeply into this… But you never know. This debate between Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne for who deserved Super Bowl honors is starting to get a little too serious. We say that because New Orleans, Louisiana native Dee-1 is getting a lot of hate for his support of the former. As you are all aware by now, the city has been extremely upset with their hometown hero not receiving the honors. Obviously, no one likes seeing Weezy upset as he was in his first public address since the announcement. But some people are taking their anger too far to where they want to ban and warn residents of NOLA like Dee-1 to never come back home.

That’s just some of the backlash the Christian rapper has been receiving, according to HipHopDX. Dee-1 shared a compilation accompanied by a voice-over detailing what he’s been dealing with since showing K-Dot love. “This is why you should never love your city more than you love God. So, Kendrick Lamar shouted me out in his new song and honestly, it’s been life-changing already in the past 24 hours. That’s the elevation. At the same time comes the condemnation”, he begins.

There are far too many questions about Playboi Carti’s upcoming album I AM MUSIC right now, which we’re sure will all be answered by at least 2076. Jokes aside, even though we don’t know much about the release date, this official rollout has fans feeling quite hopeful. But it doesn’t help that Carti’s social media posts on his Instagram page have sometimes given fans the wrong idea. For example, he posted what seemed to be the cover art for the new project on IG, captioning it with all the usual promo stuff. As you will notice immediately in the post below, this artwork is an homage to Lil Wayne’s Dedication mixtape series.

However, Playboi Carti clarified via his Instagram Story this weekend that this cover art is not the official artwork for I AM MUSIC. Most fans exhaled a sigh of relief at this, as they preferred an original concept or just something that was more aesthetically pleasing. Either way, they’re happy to bump the new single “ALL RED” and eagerly await what’s to come. Still, this Lil Wayne connection arrived at an interesting time…

If you’re reading this from under a rock, Lil Wayne was at the center of controversy when Kendrick Lamar announced his Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans next year. Many feel like Weezy deserved it instead since he’s actually from the city, but he admitted that he set himself up for disappointment with the illusion of the opportunity. As such, fans feel pretty split about it, especially with K.Dot’s Drake battle in the background and the complex history between the Roc and Cash Money. Maybe Playboi Carti subtly offered his take on this whole thing, or this is just a perfectly timed coincidence.

Foushee Pays Homage To A Loved One With “Pointy Heights”

Foushee is an incredibly fascinating talent that needs to continue to get more attention. The New Jersey native with roots in Jamaica pretty much combines her eclectic background into her music. You will never hear her not try something new whether it be on a single, project, or feature. On her latest record, Pointy Heights, Foushee is toying around with alternative in so many ways and that’s partially thanks to her varied production team. Steve Lacy is the biggest name here, and perhaps has the most influence on the direction of the sounds. However, there’s also BNYX, Jean Baptiste, Carter Lang, and more.

What’s also fun about this project is the connection that it has. Pointy Heights is a reference to her grandfather. “pointy heights is a mile & a half long area located right outside of old harbor jamaica founded by my grandfather pointy. they called him pointy bc he was pint sized 🙂 this album is dedicated to him, the fam & the community”. Leading up to the release, Foushee did share quite a bit of it’s brief 10-song 27-minute long tracklist. Four were dropped off from the end of July up until the 11th of this month. Those include “still around”, “war”, “100 bux”, and “feel like home” were all included in the roll out. Again, they all manage to sound drastically different from one another. Lil Tjay’s Attorney Addresses Gang Indictment Rumors

Yesterday, rumors that Lil Tjay was named in a federal gang indictment began to spread like wildfire. It was reported that he and roughly 20 others were accused of being members of the $laughtery Gang, and allegedly responsible for 14 shootings in the Bronx. Footage of authorities raiding what was referred to as a “criminal commune” in a Bronx apartment also surfaced online. The raid resulted in eight arrests.

Of course, these rumors had fans concerned, but Lil Tjay’s legal counsel recently took to social media to shut them down. Yesterday, the performer’s attorney Dawn Florio shared a statement regarding the rumors, confirming that they’re not true. “We are aware of several news outlets that have shared false information regarding his legal matters, and we wish to address these inaccuracies,” the statement begins.

Amid rumors that he was named in the indictment, 6ix9ine hopped online to share what many think was a response.

The post in question was a simple black screen on his Instagram Story, flooded with laughing emojis. Lil Tjay just gifted 6ix9ine’s ex-girlfriend a chain shortly after their breakup, which could explain the animosity.
