Megan Thee Stallion Unleashes “We Will Rock You” Remake For New Pepsi Ad

Megan Thee Stallion has been on a serious roll lately, and now, she’s added yet another impressive entry to her long list. Today, Pepsi’s official YouTube channel unleashed a new commercial starring her and NFL players Travis Kelce, Josh Allen, Justin Jefferson, and Derrick Henry. They battle it out for a can of Pepsi, and of course, Meg provides the soundtrack.

“Silence! Open the gates,” she shouts as the athletes enter the Colosseum, and before cracking open a Pepsi. “Let game day begin.” The ad also features her remake of Queen’s 1977 hit “We Will Rock You,” complete with plenty of fierce bars about clashing with competitors and coming out on top. Meg’s version maintains the original’s intensity with a playful twist, making it the perfect addition to the Gladiator II-inspired commercial. Reportedly, the commercial will air on national television tonight before and during NFL kickoff. Aside from the ad, Meg’s “We Will Rock You” remake is also currently available on all major DSPs.

Meg’s new remake arrives shortly after she announced her collaboration with BTS’ RM, “Neva Play,” which is scheduled to drop tomorrow (September 6). Cardi B Rolls Around In A Wheelchair During Son Wave’s Birthday At Amusement Park

Cardi B and Offset may be going through a divorce right now, but they’ve celebrated their son Wave’s birthday together on a couple of occasions regardless. Moreover, we don’t know if the former Migo was there for the little one’s recent trip to DreamWorks Water Park in New Jersey. However, you definitely couldn’t miss the Bronx femcee, as she rode around in a wheelchair for the shindig. Don’t fret, though: according to allegedly close sources who reportedly spoke to TMZ, she’s just in her final trimester and her feet were too swollen to walk around a massive water park and mall.

As such, there’s no reported health issue or anything like that: just an understandable minimization of risk for a pregnant Cardi B. You can check out pictures from this outing by clicking the “Via” link down below. Elsewhere, though, she’s dealing with some other narratives around her upcoming third child that are a little less easy to deal with. For example, a lot of folks blasted the “Get Up 10” artist online for her recent maternity shoot, which featured the word “pedophile” in graffiti behind her. She obviously explained why this was the case and clarified that this was not intentional or suggestive at all, but some fans still felt that the team should’ve caught that more easily.

Regarding other updates in Cardi B’s world, a third baby isn’t the only thing that she’s looking forward to in the (hopefully) very near future. Of course, we also have to talk about her upcoming sophomore album, one that she’s relentlessly teased on social media despite conflicting details. Even some label disagreements emerged that suggested that the two parties did not agree on when this LP will come out. Hopefully the 31-year-old clarifies this sooner rather than later, although most signs point to a late 2024 or early 2025 release.

Still, if you’ve been reading about Cardi B for the past six years, you know how familiar that “promise” sounds. Nevertheless, all we can do is wait to see what happens. In the meantime, she’s sadly busy with people comparing her and Star Brim to the Ice Spice and Cleotrapa drama. We’ll see if any other Internet narratives threaten Bardi’s patience.

Tyrese Calls Joe Budden Out For Disrespecting His Recent “Breakfast Club” Appearance

Tyrese may have “officially retired” from social media after a hot take about masculinity, but he’s still got gas in the tank. Moreover, he recently reacted to Joe Budden’s reaction to his recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, which Joe called “bitter.” Also, even though the rapper and podcaster shouted the actor and singer out as a friend of the show, he still recalled how he had a similar energy on the radio show last year. In fact, he brought up the last five years of Mr. Gibson’s divorce and relationship struggles. However, other co-hosts brought up that the divorce isn’t the only thing that he’s been emotional about, so it might be unfair to point to that split as a reason for this perceived “bitterness.”

In fact, Budden even said that being bitter isn’t a bad thing: just an observation that they’re making. Nevertheless, Tyrese pointed out how his previous appearance on (or link-up with) The Joe Budden Podcast saw its titular host make fun of what the actor would say on The Breakfast Club that took on a more emotive or spiritual tone. While Tyrese pointed out the strong bond he has with Joe and with his co-host Melyssa Ford, he also thinks that whenever he does something with Charlamagne Tha God and company, Joe starts sending out strays his way.

Tyrese Blasts Joe Budden For “Bitter” Narrative

Furthermore, Tyrese also posited that there are people on The Joe Budden Podcast who are sticking up for him more than Joe himself, who was his friend in the first place. In addition, he said that there’s nothing Budden could say to prove that he’s bitter. Finally, the Fast & Furious star said that the Slaughterhouse MC can’t speak on anything that he’s going through because he never married and thus can’t relate to his relationship struggles.

Meanwhile, some of Tyrese’s other final social media acts before his break included blasting the Biden-Harris administration over an anti-Asian hate crime bill. “There is a crime bill that was signed into law that protects Asians at all costs,” he said on Instagram Live. “Where is that same f***ing law when it comes to Black and brown people? Because what you’re doing is — President Biden and Kamala Harris — what you’re doing is, you’re saying that Black and brown people will continue to be disposable. That s**t doesn’t make sense.”

Eminem’s Publisher Loses $39 Million Legal Battle With Spotify

Back in 2019, Eminem’s publisher Eight Mile Style sued Spotify for roughly $39 million. In their lawsuit, they alleged that the rapper’s songs had been streamed “billions of times,” but he’d yet to be paid for it. Now, a verdict has been reached, and Spotify has come out victorious.

According to AllHipHop, the judge ruled that Spotify didn’t have the proper license, but wasn’t responsible for any lost royalties. Instead, they claim that Kobalt Music Group would have to pay the penalty if Spotify had been found guilty. Kobalt administers song rights and collects royalties, including for Eminem’s publisher. Reportedly, the Detroit artist himself was not a party in the lawsuit and was surprised to learn of its existence.

In Eight Mile’s lawsuit, the company accused Spotify of having “acted deceptively” by allegedly pretending to have licenses for hundreds of Eminem’s songs. Spotify, on the other hand, insisted that Kobalt Music Publishing was to blame. Allegedly, the company misled Spotify into thinking it controlled the administration of Eight Mile’s catalog when that was not the case.

“Eight Mile Style had every opportunity to set things right and simply chose not to do so for no apparent reason, other than that being the victim of infringement pays better than being an ordinary licensor,” Judge Aleta A. Trauger said in her ruling. She also added that it’s “surprisingly plausible that Spotify might be genuinely confused.” Trauger called the situation “inexplicable” and said Eight Mile is not the “hapless victim” it claimed to be. What do you think of Spotify coming out victorious in its legal battle against Eminem’s publisher? Are you surprised by this or not? Travis Scott Is “Back In Album Mode”

Travis Scott once had fans thirsting for UTOPIA for five years straight, but now, it seems like he’s more excited than ever to keep making art. Moreover, that 2023 album is still beloved and highly successful thanks to its replay value and its ongoing tours, and he just re-released his fan-favorite 2014 mixtape DAYS BEFORE RODEO on streaming services for the first time ever to much acclaim and sales controversy. As such, it might surprise you to hear that La Flame is apparently already working on his next full-length effort. He revealed this during a new Cultured magazine interview with legendary visual artist George Condo.

“I’m gonna be back in New York,” Travis Scott remarked. “I’m back in album mode. I’ve been working on music and s**t every day on tour. When I’m doing the stadiums, because they’re sold out, I can see the music for what it is. I’m f***ing amped.” “We’ve always approached everything from scratch, not doing loops,” he said of his overall creative process when it comes to making music. “Taking music back to the real raw art. Cooking things instead of having them passed down.”

Of course, this isn’t really something new for Travis Scott in concept. He followed up ASTROWORLD with the JACKBOYS EP the next year, plus a slew of singles up until UTOPIA dropped. Also, let’s not forget the massive hype that formed around ASTROWORLD before Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight had even dropped back in 2016. But considering the precedent that the Houston rapper’s five-year wait created, this should be a very exciting preview for fans. Let’s just hope it’s legit. After all, we’ve already had some canceled sneaker color-ways this year…

Jokes aside, we’ll see in due time what Travis Scott’s next full-length looks like. Whether it comes around quickly in 2025 or it’s the start of a years-long process, we’re sure that the results will impress, inspire, and engage. Meanwhile, fans are still salty about the sales battle between Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N’ Sweet and DAYS BEFORE RODEO. But selling over 360K copies of a ten-year-old mixtape is a larger flex than most No. 1 chart debuts.

Travis Scott just re-issued his classic mixtape Days Before Rodeo, but now, he’s in album mode.

During a conversation with artist George Condo for Cultured, Scott said, “I’m gonna be back in New York. I’m back in album mode. I’ve been working on music and sh*t every day on tour. When I’m doing the stadiums, because they’re sold out, I can see the music for what it is. I’m f*cking amped.”

He also spoke about his creative history and process, saying:

The sparseness in jazz, folk, or anything in those genres — even the soulfulness of blues, and the storytelling of blues, or the rawness — it’s kind of the base foundation. I won’t say that it’s the base foundation of music, but to me, the ideas that some of those artists were implementing were such game-changers — a full Renaissance of their own. I’m trying to carry that wavelength throughout my music.

I started in producing, making beats. I haven’t stopped making beats for other artists and for myself. It’s been important for me to get back into that and remind people that’s my foundation. I remember working on my first mixtape ever. A lot of people didn’t understand where I was trying to take things, and for me to be able to do that now, at this level, is ill. When I made the ‘Fe!n’ beat, I was like, ‘Yo, this is crazy, being able to put forth the same energy since day one.’”

Charlamagne Tha God & DJ Envy React To Megan Thee Stallion’s Controversial Competitive Rap Claims

It goes without saying that 2024 has been a year jam-packed with plenty of beef. According to Megan Thee Stallion, this might be partially thanks to her. During the hitmaker’s recent interview with Billboard, the interviewer credited her for starting the “competitive rap energy” fans have seen in recent months.

Meg didn’t exactly take all the credit for this in her response. She did say, however, that she’d be happy if she had opened the door for others. “I would like to think that I start things,” she explained. “I don’t know; I just knew what I had to do and what I had to say. If it opened up the door for everyone else to get sh*t off their chest, well, I’m glad.”

Charlamagne Tha God & DJ Envy Shut Down Megan Thee Stallion

Of course, Meg’s comments have sparked a major debate among social media users. While some think she could be onto something, others think this is a serious reach. The Breakfast Club hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy reacted to her remarks during a recent episode of the show, insisting that she was way off. “She didn’t open the door for competitive rap,” Envy said simply. “At all,” Charlamagne added, “Not even in this era, no.”

Loren LoRosa then chimed in, arguing that there were some people who thought Meg threw the first jab at Drake on her track “Hiss,” which resulted in his feud with Kendrick Lamar. “There are no people that said that,” Envy insisted. What do you think of Megan Thee Stallion claiming she could have opened the door for competitive rap this year? Do you agree with her, or is this a reach? What about Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy shutting down her claim? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
