UFC Mistakes Terence Crawford For Kendrick Lamar During Broadcast

We all know the popular meme these days: between double meanings and bold predictions, Kendrick Lamar is being hailed as a prophet. But did a recent UFC broadcast really have to go to this extreme to make that idea true? Moreover, a recent event saw the television team confuse superstar boxer Terence Crawford for K.Dot. The “Watch The Party Die” lyricist actually had the following line on “euphoria”: “I’m Terence Crawford, yeah, I’m whooping feet.” However, even though a lot of people laughed at this coincidence and manifestation of his predictions, they still launched accusations of racism against the organization, which is understandable.

Maybe we’ll never get an explanation for this viral mishap. Either way, this wasn’t the only recent tinfoil hat reach (that may or may not be true) concerning some of Kendrick Lamar’s latest moves, an unsurprising tendency given all his lyrical depths in his Drake disses and beyond. For example, folks connected his Super Bowl halftime show announcement to his diss tracks, pointing out some of the lyrical nods and other similarities. Many continue to dismiss these readings, but at the end of the day, their intentionality doesn’t change how these connections resonate with fans.

Terence Crawford Is Kendrick Lamar?

Elsewhere, Usher was the latest artist to comment on Kendrick Lamar’s headlining slot. “Everybody has this fifteen minutes of fame idea, but it’s really your fifteen minutes of fame. You have to play hits. You’ve got to get right to it,” he shared on Live with Kelly and Mark. “I want no part of that. I’m sorry,” the singer shared when asked whether or not he could help squash the Drake beef. “Let’s just say, it’s been a great experience to say that I could play the Super Bowl. I understand how much pressure comes with it and I wouldn’t wish it on anybody. But I would wish it on you if you’ve had the career.”

Some other controversy is afoot, such as the “Not Like Us” music video allegedly costing Compton businesses thousands of dollars. Hopefully a reimbursement can uplift these affected enterprises or some other form of agreement can level things out. With all this in mind, all eyes are on Kendrick Lamar. They’ve been like that since “Like That,” so you’d think folks would be able to recognize him easily… Especially a huge sports organization.

Playboi Carti celebrated his birthday a day late in New York on Saturday (September 14), but the city apparently did not have a fun gift for him. Moreover, he took to his Instagram accounts to claim that the NY Police Department shut down his party in Brooklyn for unknown reasons. Although, Carti did allude to a massive crowd at it, which you can see in a video clip down below. “NYPD SHUT ME DOWN,” he wrote on his Instagram Story. “I TREID SOOO HARD TO CELEBRATE WITH YOU TONIGHT THE MUSIC WAS ABOUT TO BE INSANE I WAS OUTSIDE THE WHOLE TIME THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD LOCK ME UP IF I GOT OUT THE CAR ITS MY F***IN BIRTHDAY WTF.”

“TBH YALL DID YALL THANG 10,000 PEOPLE OUTSIDE VENUE ONLY FIT 3K PD FOLKS TRYING LOCK ME UNFORTUNATELY THANK U NEW YORK. THIIS MY 2ND HOME I GOT YAL,” the Atlanta creative added in a repost on his alternate IG account. Elsewhere, Playboi Carti was recently at the center of a fan debate and discussion thanks to when he posted some private DMs between him and Lucki. Apparently, he felt like the Chicago rapper dissed him online, but the “Courtesy Of” rapper was quick to clarify this. “Like I said from the jump, I don’t dislike you,” he expressed. “You think, yesterday, because I bought a chain and I said, ‘crosses up,’ that I was sneak dissing you because you made a song that said, ‘upside down cross, tat’ on my neck,’ but it wasn’t that though. I just bought a chain and was saying, ‘crosses up.’ You just insecure because you don’t love Jesus like that.”

In terms of other IG activity, Playboi Carti also clarified that a Dedication-inspired cover for his new album isn’t actually the official artwork. We still don’t know what that will be. But with pre-orders live right now, we expect to know sooner rather than later. Then again, this is Carti we’re talking about. We might be in the dark for a little while longer…

Kal Banx Releases Smooth “HOP OUT CHO FEELINGS” With Smino & Buddy

Kal Banx is a producer from Dallas, Texas. He first made his name by producing tracks on Revenge Of The Dreamers III, before moving on to Isaiah Rashad, SiR, and Smino. He officially became part of Top Dawg Entertainment’s team of in-house producers in 2021. His latest track features Buddy and the aforementioned Smino, who both skate over a smooth beat with a soul sample in the background. Smino’s verse sounds particularly effortless, sounding similar to Krayzie Bone in terms of how he flows on the track. It also features some of Smino’s trademark singing passages. Everything comes together to create a track that would not sound out of place on one of his albums.

“HOP OUT CHO FEELINGS” is the latest appearance for Smino. Earlier this year, he released the singles “Polynesian,” “Nokia,” and “mister misfit but ain’t missed a fit in months.” He claimed in January that he had three albums ready to be released in 2024. However, none of those albums have seen a release yet. His previous album, Luv 4 Rent, was released in October 2022. At the end of 2023, he joined Noname and Saba to premiere a new song by their Ghetto Sage supergroup during Noname’s Tiny Desk Concert. Buddy released his latest album, Don’t Forget To Breathe, this past March. His album also featured Smino, marking their first release together in years. They both appeared on the Revenge Of The Dreamers III‘s track “1993.” As for Kal Banx, the next time fans will probably hear production from him on an album is when Isaiah Rashad’s next release comes. Kembe X Starts Another Roll Out With Release Of “DEATH & TAXXXES”

Kembe X is looking to go for a more laid-back and go-with-the-flow kind of energy for his next endeavor. On the California raised rapper’s X account he hinted at this very direction. “This project i’m rolling out is all fun music there’s little gems in there. But for the most part it is the sound of me LETTING GO & HAVING FUN”. Also he had another announcement to make. “DEATH & TAXXXES” TONIGHT”. This seems to be step two for this next project’s roll out, as the Illinois born artist already dropped the potential lead single back in late August. That would be “iNDIFFERENT” with the equally engaging Zelooperz. As of now, there doesn’t seem to be a release date or really anything else that’s known other than these two probable lead off tracks.

However, we can update on what Kembe X has been up to as of late. It’s been a little bit since we’ve covered new material as the last song we got to was “Rolling Stoned” with Isaiah Rashad and Hippie Sabotage. Since that November 2023 track, he went on to drop off “Shallow”, another collab with the latter, and feature for Yakiyn’s “TOP FLO” single. Furthermore, Kembe ended his five-year project drought with Sleep Paralysis back in mid-March. That was an entire combo deal with Hippie Sabotage which spanned 10 songs. Now, with that catching up out of the way, what is “DEATH & TAXXES” sounding like? It’s almost got a bit of Baby Keem to it with the way that Kembe is delivering his flows. They are a bit loopy and dizzying and the production switches up quite a bit for the track being just 1:50. See what he’s laying down with “DEATH & TAXXXES” down below.

Doja Cat says that her 2023 album, Scarlet, was an “angry project.” She made the comments while speaking with Jack Harlow for Present Space. The album featured several hit singles including “Paint the Town Red” and “Agora Hills.” It peaked at number four on the US Billboard 200.

“I think the point of that album was to showcase anger and how it processes through my mind, but also it’s about coming to your own defense and love,” Doja explained to Harlow. “It’s sort of my ‘Why I oughta!’ moment of squaring up with everyone and defending myself, telling myself that I’m here for me, and not just for everybody else’s enjoyment.”

Lecrae has jumped on Kendrick Lamar’s “Watch the Party Die” after being referenced on the original track. In a post on Instagram on Saturday night, the Christian rapper shared an audio clip of him rapping over the beat. Instead of a pair of black Air Force 1 shoes, he used a white pair for the artwork. “Welp.. this is what Lecrae would do,” he captioned the post.

On Lamar’s version of the track, he raps: “Sometimes I wonder what Lecrae would do / F*ck these n****s up or show ’em just what prayer do?” Crae first responded to the shout-out by writing on X (formerly Twitter) by writing: “Love you Dot….Always here. [praying hands emoji].”

Ben Affleck Embraces Matt Damon’s Wife As He & Jennifer Lopez Continue Promoting New Film

Ben Affleck was spotted embracing and kissing Matt Damon’s wife, Luciana Damon, on the head on Friday. Paparazzi photographed the wholesome moment in Los Angeles. The meet-up between longtime friends comes after Damon made headlines for speaking with Jennifer Lopez at the Toronto International Film Festival, earlier this month. Affleck and Lopez are rumored to be in the process of a divorce.

Damon was with Lopez at TIFF to promote their new film, Unstoppable, which they worked on with Affleck. “What fun, what a joy to do something with her, see her be great, go to work with your wife, go to work with your best friend,” Affleck told CBS Sunday Mornings in March 2023 about working on the film. “If you don’t like who you’re working with, and if you have difficulty or trouble at work, I think it’s one of the things that can really cause depression, anxiety and pain for people … Can’t make it look like she’s doing it as a favor to me, but actually she is.” He didn’t attend the Toronto premiere.

Matt and Luciana have been married since 2005. During an interview on the Radio Times Podcast in August, Damon discussed the relationship rumors swirling about Affleck and Lopez. “I’ve been really lucky in that way … especially when I look at Casey’s brother, Ben. I can’t imagine living under that kind of scrutiny. And it’s been like that for 25 years and we’ve had parallel careers in a lot of ways and so I’m fortunate to have been kind of excused from that part of [it],” he said. He added that the press likely doesn’t bother scrutinizing his marriage to Luciana as it’s “boring.”
