Kai Cenat Asked Ice Spice To Freestyle, But She Opted To Go More NSFW And Just Twerk Instead

When in doubt, twerk it out. This is a lesson Ice Spice learned yesterday (July 25). During a broadcast with popular streamer Kai Cenat, the “Phat Butt” rapper was able to wiggle her way out of his request for her to freestyle for his audience.

While promoting her debut studio album, Y2K, Kai thought it was be a great idea for Ice Spice to show off her lyrical styles to finally but hater to bed. But, Ice Spice had other plans. Instead of obliging with an 8 bar throwaway, Ice Spice delivered her best 8 count twerk off.

“That was my freestyle,” she joked, to which Kai rewarded with a round of applause.

However, users online weren’t as kind to Ice Spice in their responses.

“That’s all the talent she has,” wrote one user.

“I say this is a player that knows her limitations on the court,” penned another.

“Is we complaining, tho,” countered another.

“Sh*t I would rather her do this than to actually freestyle,” chimed another.

“Good strategy from Ice Spice she started dancing she knows she was finna get cooked from that freestyle,” joked another.

On the heels of the controversial 2024 XXL Freshmen Class cypher, Ice Spice might’ve dodged a load of backlash. In fact, Ice Spice seemingly pulled a play from Uproxx cover star Coi Leray’s book. When all else fails, go for what you know.

Or maybe Ice Spice stands by Vince Staples’ rule of thumb as it relates to promotional freestyles during album rollouts?

Cardi B’s Chicken Criticism Prompted Popeyes To Invite Her To Test Some New Flavors

Popeyes‘ new wings might just be Cardi B-approved after she dissed her recent late-night meal on social media. After Cardi shared some harsh criticism of the chicken chain’s new Honey Lemon Pepper flavor, Popeyes took her comments in stride with an official statement sharing appreciation for Cardi’s assessment. However, someone in charge over there took her thoughts seriously and decided to take a proactive strategy, inviting Cardi to the company’s test kitchen to make sure future flavors are Cardi-approved. For her part, Cardi didn’t seem to have any qualms about getting free chicken, enthusiastically agreeing.

“bardi gang, we need your help!” read a tweet from Popeyes’ official account. “legal won’t let us tag her, but since ya girl had some thoughts on our honey lemon pepper wings, we’d love to have her come thru the test kitchen to collab on some wing flavors. y’all do your thing.”

It didn’t take long for Cardi’s fans to alert her to the tweet, nor for her to offer her answer. “Free wings??? Where y’all at? COME PICK ME UP,” she gushed.

Honestly, this is genius marketing — suspiciously good, actually. It certainly appears to have the potential to be very effective in getting gaining interest for future flavors. After all, even if you’re not a huge Cardi fan, if the company can turn around her honest assessments, who wouldn’t be at least a little curious about how they did it? It wouldn’t even be Popeyes’ first collaboration with a rapper; in 2021, Popeyes teamed up with Cardi collaborator Megan Thee Stallion to release “Hottie Sauce” and an anime-inspired merch collection.

Young Thug And Lil Durk Sing A Loving Ode To The ‘Ghetto’ In Mustard’s LA-Spanning New Video

Mustard’s new album, Faith Of A Mustard Seed, is out now and its latest video is “Ghetto” featuring Lil Durk and Young Thug. In the video, the California producer gives a tour of his hometown, Los Angeles, while the Atlanta and Chicago natives offer their own fond perspectives on life in the hood. LA landmarks like Leimert Park’s Vision Theatre and Slauson Super Mall make appearances, along with youth dance teams and lowrider car clubs. It’s a loving look at places that so often get overlooked, and that for natives represent the real LA.

In addition to the usual array of superstar guests, Faith Of A Mustard Seed also features the producer’s own rap debut. Guests on the album include Durk, Thug, 42 Dugg, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, BlueBucksClan, Blxst, Charlie Wilson, Ella Mai, Future, Kirk Franklin, Lil Yachty, Masego, Quavo, Rob49, Roddy Ricch, Schoolboy Q, Travis Scott, Ty Dolla Sign, and Vince Staples. Young Thug’s appearance means a lot, because the Atlanta mainstay has been incarcerated for the past two years as part of a racketeering case that has become one of Fulton County’s long-running criminal trials ever.

You can watch the video for Mustard’s “Ghetto” with Lil Durk and Young Thug above.

Faith Of A Mustard Seed is out now via 10 Summers Records and Interscope. You can find more information here.

NBA YoungBoy Mentally Unloads On “Tears Of War”

NBA YoungBoy had been on pace to have one of the most productive years of any rapper this year. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native was pumping out single after single on his YouTube page, with several of them landing on his first record of 2024. Compliments of Grave Digger Mountain might not be his strongest work, but him being so productive early on further proves that there are hardly any more hardworking than him. Unfortunately, his constant run-ins with the law continue to rear their ugly head. Back in April, while on a house arrest in Utah, he was arrested for orchestrating a fraudulent drug ring. However, this latest self-inflicted obstacle is not stopping his release pattern because NBA YoungBoy is back with “Tears Of War”.

This marks the 24-year-old’s first solo release in about four months, with “Catch Him” (YouTube exclusive) being that last track. However, in terms of overall songs, it’s the most recent one since his collaboration with Sean Kingston, “Why Oh Why”. Surprisingly, “Tears Of War” sees YB rap with great passion (unsurprisingly) over a No I.D. instrumental (Jay-Z, Pusha T, Drake). Additionally, the record is nearly six-minutes long, which on its face will make a lot of listeners groan. However, NBA really holds his own as he details his mental state, reservations he has with the things/people he loves (the streets, Yaya Mayweather), and much more. Fans are praising and we feel it’s well-deserved in this case.

“Tears Of War”- NBA YoungBoy

Quotable Lyrics:

I’m f***in’ weak
Argue with Jason, and it end with, “I love you”
Argue with my brother, probably end with, “I’ma pluck you”
Last visit from 3Three, it end with a scuffle
Want me for to change but I’m caught up and I’m thuggin’
F*** it, I don’t owe nobody nothin’

Snoop Dogg And Pharrell Carry Olympic Torch Before Paris Games

Snoop Dogg and Pharrell Williams both carried Olympic torches Friday morning in the last leg of the 2024 relay. The relay, an Olympic tradition, ends with the lighting of the cauldron at the opening ceremonies, signifying the beginning of the Paris Games. More than two months after the Olympic flame was first lit in Greece, Snoop took his torch through a stretch of Seine-Saint-Denis in France. In a video of the scene, the legendary rapper waves to fans in attendance and dances while holding the torch.

“I look at this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect,” Snoop Dogg previously told the Associated Press after he was asked to do the relay. “I would have never dreamed of nothing like this. I’m going to be on my best behavior. I’m going to be on my best athleticism. I’ll be able to breathe slow to walk fast and hold the torch with a smile on my face, because I realize how prestigious this event is.” Pharrell was the final bearer of the torch before the flame makes its way to the Olympic cauldron. He carried it to the top of the Basilica Cathedral of Saint-Denis.

For Snoop Dogg and Pharrell, they are two more celebrities who’ve had the honor of holding the Olympic torch. K-pop singer Jin held it earlier this month. Muhammad Ali, Magic Johnson, the Williams sisters, and others have held it in the past. The torch relay, which started with the 1936 Summer Olympics, spans multiple countries and people from everywhere in the world. It is viewed as a symbol of unity and friendship, becoming a lasting tradition during what is always a joyous time for the participating countries.

Snoop Dogg holding the torch is the latest example of what has been a successful year for the legend. His revived Death Row Records is building out its roster. Snoop introduced Charlie Bereal to fans on Wednesday, a signing that went over well with his audience. He announced Missionary, the Dr. Dre-produced spiritual successor to his debut album Doggystyle, was on the way. Snoop is among the most accomplished artists of all time. And now, he can call himself a former Olympic torch bearer as well.

Chris Brown Dances On Diddy’s 50-Foot Bed In Resurfaced Clip: Watch

For months now, Diddy’s been wrapped up in a great deal of legal drama. Aside from being at the center of a federal human trafficking investigation, the mogul is also currently facing various lawsuits. He’s accused of sexual assault, abuse, and much more. Diddy denies the allegations.

Regardless, his legal saga has meant trouble for both him and anyone who’s been associated with him in the past. Recently, for example, old footage of Chris Brown attending one of his parties resurfaced online. Already, it’s resulted in a fair bit of clowning. In the clip, Breezy is seen being reluctantly pulled onto a 50-foot bed in Diddy’s yard and dancing.

Chris Brown Turns Up At A Diddy Party In Old Footage

This appears to be the same comically large bed shown in the footage that went viral earlier this week and resulted in plenty of wild speculation. “Why tf do you have a bed this big?” one X user wonders. “Can tell bro was uncomfortable but didn’t wanna make a scene,” another says of Brown. Of course, nothing else too interesting happens in the clip, but it’s only compounded ongoing speculation about Diddy. As for Brown, he’s dealing with his own legal issues at the moment, after an alleged backstage brawl after his “11:11” tour stop in Forth Worth.

Earlier this week, Brown was sued over the alleged debacle by four men, who accuse him of ordering his crew to beat them up. He was later hit with yet another lawsuit from a security guard who worked the event, who claims that he was severely injured while trying to break up the alleged fight. What do you think of old footage of Chris Brown dancing on Diddy’s 50-foot bed at a party resurfacing amid the mogul’s legal saga? Are you surprised or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
