Fat Joe Offers Silver Lining to Knicks Playoff Loss: ‘Gotta Lose to Get That Experience’

If you watched game 7 of the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers series, you probably spotted Fat Joe sitting courtside by Knicks bench.

If you watched game 7 of the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers series, you probably spotted Fat Joe sitting courtside by Knicks bench. The Knicks took the L, ending their season, but Joe is proud of what they brought to the season.

“I’m proud of my team. So proud of them. Unfortunately, you gotta lose to win,” Fat Joe said. “Like we saw with OKC and we saw with all these other young teams, for some reason, they gotta lose to get that experience, to get that final instinct so they could win.”

You can hear all of Fat Joe’s commentary below.

In a decisive Game 7 against a historic rival, the Indiana Pacers delivered one of the greatest playoff performances ever to secure their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 2014. Facing the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, the Pacers triumphed 130-109 on Sunday, led by Tyrese Haliburton’s 26 points.

The Pacers, who boasted the NBA’s top offense during the regular season, set a playoff record by shooting 67.1% from the field. Their 53 field goals matched the 1969 Knicks for the second-most in Game 7 history.

All five of Indiana’s starters scored 15+ points and shot over 50%, a Game 7 feat last achieved in 1971 and only the seventh occurrence in playoff history. The Pacers exploded with a 70-point first half on 76.3% shooting, joining the 2014 Clippers as the only teams to score at least 70 points in a Game 7 half since 1998.

Haliburton’s postseason tally of 200+ points and 100+ assists made him the first Pacer to achieve this, and only the third Pacer with 100+ assists in a single postseason, following Mark Jackson and Haywoode Workman.

TJ McConnell contributed significantly with 12 points and 7 assists, earning a +21 rating off the bench, a rare achievement in Game 7 history.

Despite a valiant effort, the Knicks fell short. Donte DiVincenzo set a Knicks playoff record with nine 3-pointers and scored a career playoff-high 39 points. However, injuries plagued New York: Jalen Brunson’s broken hand in the third quarter, OG Anunoby’s brief appearance due to a hamstring injury, and Josh Hart’s abdomen issue were too much to overcome.

Dr Dre Abuse Victim Dee Barnes Addresses Diddy And Cassie Footage

Dee Barnes is one of the loudest voices when it comes to domestic abuse in hip-hop. She was assaulted by Dr Dre during a 1991 party, and subsequently sued the rapper. He pleased no contest, and went on to have a relatively unscathed career despite his crimes. Dee Barnes is revered for her bravery and her willingness to discuss her experiences. This made her uniquely qualified to speak on the recently released footage of Diddy assaulting Cassie in a hotel hallway.

Barnes, a former rapper and journalist, shared her thoughts via social media. She made it clear that she was horrified by what she saw on the security footage, as it reminded her of the ordeal she went through decades ago. “Seeing that video is extremely triggering,” she wrote on X. “Dr. Dre punched, slammed, kicked and stomped me out. #Concussion.” Barnes then said that she was getting off social media due to the widespread exposure the footage received. “Logging tf off.”

Dee Barnes Described Diddy’s Behavior As Disgusting

Dee Barnes did, however, return to X the evening of May 19 to voice her support for Cassie. She also made sure to call out Diddy for his horrible actions. “I’m disgusted and disappointed with Sean Combs,” she tweeted. “I stand with #Cassie, #KimPorter and all the other victims of his violent abuse.” This was tweeted shortly after Diddy issued a public apology in the form of an Instagram video. The mogul tried to address the assault footage and the other crimes he’s been accused of, but the response to the apology has been overwhelmingly negative.

Barnes was similarly skeptical when Dr. Dre issued a public apology in 2015. The producer addressed his violent past during a profile with the New York Times, and claimed he had changed in the ensuring years. “I was a young man drinking too much and in over my head with no real structure in my life,” he claimed. However, none of this is an excuse for what I did… I’m doing everything I can so I never resemble that man again.” Barnes responded to the apology with a curt: “I hope he means it.”

Azealia Banks Asks Kendrick Lamar Why He Let 6ix9ine Say The N-Word

Azealia Banks does not like Kendrick Lamar. She’s been one of the most vocal critics of the Compton rapper during his battle with Drake. She thinks Lamar is wildly overrated, and has repeatedly accused him of being “obsessed” with Drake. The battle between the two rappers came to an end (for now, at least), with many declaring Lamar the winner. This has not stopped Banks from continuing to hate on social media, however. She sent another shot K. Dot’s way on May 20, and it had to do with one of his major Drake critiques.

Lamar attacked Drake’s use of the N-word on his diss, “Euphoria.” The song even ended with the refrain: “We don’t wanna hear you say n**ga no more.” Banks took this talking point and turned it against Lamar by pointing out his unwillingness to gate keep the word from other rappers. Particularly those who aren’t African American, like Six9ine. “Sidebar tho…. deadasss….,” she wrote. “Where was Kendrick when there was a gay Mexican in a rainbow lacefront running around saying n**ga?? Lmao.”

Azealia Banks Calls Kendrick Lamar A Hypocrite

Banks went on to claim that Lamar doesn’t have the number of classic songs that Drake does. “Do Kendrick know he doesn’t have a ‘oh you fancy huh,’ nor a ‘passionfruit,’ or anything but small sneaker rage to give us LOL,” she added. But wait, there was more. In a second tweet, the “212” rapper poked fun at Kendrick Lamar further by claiming he has a crush on Drake. “What’s reallllllllllllly behind the beef??,” she asked. “Who got a crush on who?”

Azealia Banks isn’t the first person to point out 6ix9ine’s frequent use of the N-word. Charlamagne tha God questioned 6ix9ine on the topic during a Breakfast Club interview, and the rapper felt that he had a right to say it because it was part of his upbringing. “It’s the way I talk,” he asserted. “You know what I’m saying? It’s not like oh sh*t I’m not African American, I’m not dark skin I can not say this, I can’t say it… It’s just vocabulary.” Ironically, 6ix9ine has been charged for exhibiting the same predatory behavior that Lamar accused Drake of on “Not Like Us.”

Cam’ron Calls Out CNN Reporter For Asking Him About Diddy

Cam’ron just blessed CNN viewers with one of the most bizarre interviews in recent memory. The rapper went on to discuss the footage of Diddy assaulting Cassie, but the longer the interview went, the more he became annoyed with the reporter. It got so awkward between Cam and the reporter that the former actually looked offscreen and asked how he got booked for the interview in the first place.

Cam’ron has an increased media profile thanks to his podcast with Mase, It Is What It Is. The duo talked about the Diddy and Cassie situation on the air, but the rapper did not seem thrilled to be rehashing it by himself on CNN. He made it clear that he didn’t condone Diddy’s actions in the video. “Everything in the video is egregious,” he noted. “I’m against. So when I saw the video I was kinda upset being that I know him.” Cam’ron clarified that he does not consider Diddy to be a friend or a close associate.

Cam’ron Didn’t Like The Reporter’s Tone

The rapper was asked if he was surprised by the Diddy footage based on his personal experiences. He did not appreciate this line of questioning. “I didn’t know him like that,” he added. “What you mean my experiences? I seen him and I thought it was disgusting.” Cam’ron’s agitation seemingly grew with each subsequent question.

The reported brought up Diddy’s history of mistreating his artists, and Cam’ron made her wait while he drank his Pink Horse Power sex supplement. He then redirected the question to his pod partner, Mase, citing that most of what he heard about Diddy came through him. “I appreciate what Mase said,” he clarified. “And that’s my brother.”

Cam tried to plug his podcast, but the wheels didn’t come off until the end. The reporter noted that Diddy would not have been able to get away with his crimes unless people protected him in the industry. She asked if Cam agreed with this, and he decided he’d had enough. “Who the talent agent for this joint,” he retorted. “You think I be sitting around… watching what Diddy do.” He then looked offscreen and asked: “Who booked me for this joint?” Things wrapped up then and there. The reporter thanked Cam’ron for his time, and it’s safe to assume he won’t be returning to the network anytime soon.
