J Cole Clowned For His Lyrics In NSFW New Cash Cobain Song

J Cole has had a bit of a rough 2023 so far. The rapper found himself embroiled in a short beef with Kendrick Lamar back in March. He was the first to respond to Kendrick’s verse on the Future & Metro Boomin song “Like That.” He hit back by dropping a surprise mixtape that contained the song “7 Minute Drill.” The track was an attempt to roast Kendrick, conjuring criticisms of basically his entire discography. The track was pretty roundly rejected by fans and Cole very quickly went back on it. That started with him denouncing the song during a performance at his own Dreamville Festival before eventually removing it from streaming services entirely.

That entire drama was followed by the album failing to grab the top spot on the Billboard 200, being held off by Beyonce’s COWBOY CARTER in its second week. Now Cole is back with a new song alongside Cash Cobain called “Grippy.” The track is an NSFW anthem that features nothing but raunchy details from both rappers. But Cole’s verse in particular is attracting some negative attention online for seemingly nonsensical and goofy bars. Check out some of the worst of the bunch and the fan reactions to them below.

J. Cole Roasted Online For New Song

In the post itself, a fan implies that his brief spat with Kendrick Lamar may have affected J Cole more than fans realized. In the comments fans joke about how long its been since Cole was at his peak acclaim. “Bro took the fall off literal” one of the top replies to the post jokes. “this might go down as the largest fall off in quality ever” another comment more seriously claims. Almost none of the replies to the post offer much of a defense for Cole.

Isaiah Rashad Announces That His New Album Will “Probably” Drop This Year

It’s been a while since Isaiah Rashad fans have heard a new full-length project from the Chattanooga-born performer. His last album, The House Is Burning, arrived nearly four years ago in 2021. Since then, he’s been on a bit of a break from releasing solo music, though he has appeared on various other artists’ projects in recent months.

Fortunately for fans, however, it looks like he has a new project on the way. During a recent show, he announced that he’s got something in the works. According to him, it will “most likely” drop later this year, though he didn’t confirm an official release date. He said that the title is still up in the air too, but either way, fans can’t wait.

Isaiah Rashad’s New Project Will “Most Likely” Arrive This Year

This isn’t the first time fans have heard mumblings of a new Isaiah Rashad album dropping this year, however. Back in February, a list of Top Dawg Entertainment artists planning to release projects in 2024 surfaced online, and Rashad was on the list. Both ScHoolboy Q and SiR were also listed, and have already dropped this year. Only time will tell who could be next, though if the list proves to be correct, it’ll be a major year for the label regardless.

Rashad’s exciting announcement isn’t the only thing to get a crowd hyped at one of his recent shows, however. Earlier today, a clip of him closing out a performance by playing Kendrick Lamar’s iconic Drake diss “Not Like Us” also surfaced online. As expected, his audience went wild, dancing and rhyming along to the track. Recently, he had on both Soulja Boy and Charleston White. White was in the studio with Ross, while Soulja technically wasn’t supposed to be a guest. He then passes the phone to White, who was surprised to see the artist. That’s when White claims that the two cannot make up.

Regardless of how each individual fan felt, it clearly took a bit of a toll on Lizzo herself. She stayed out of the public spotlight for a few weeks following the allegations. Josh Giddey’s Police Probe Into Alleged Inappropriate Relationship With A Minor Is Over: “Unable To Corroborate Any Criminal Activity”

The NBA has closed its own investigation into the Josh Giddey allegations after reaching a similar conclusion as the Newport Beach Police Probe, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. This comes four months after Newport Beach police announced that their probe had been “unable to corroborate any criminal activity” against Josh Giddey, 21, of The Oklahoma City Thunder, regarding online allegations of an inappropriate relationship with an underage girl. In late November, the accusations made against Giddey became public on social media. An anonymous social media user said that the girl who was spotted with Giddey in pictures and videos was a junior in high school at the time of the since-deleted post. The social media account was deleted after the post was made.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver had stated in early December that the league’s probe would “take a back seat” to the police’s process, and on November 29, Newport Beach police started an inquiry. Giddey has refrained from responding to the accusations. During the Thunder’s postseason run to the Western Conference semifinals, he stayed with the team and averaged 8.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

Josh Giddey Investigation Is Now Closed

The basketball community and beyond were rocked by the Josh Giddey allegations. The involved claims of improper contact with Livv Cook, a minor, was a shocking development. When images and videos of Giddey with a young woman appeared on social media, the dispute broke out. Additionally, there have been rumors that the girl, Livv Cook, was just fifteen years old, which suggests a wrong kind of connection. Josh Giddey has stayed quiet throughout the whole ordeal. Many fans wondered why there was no punishment for the allegations. After all, the league had been so swift to punish other players for far less problematic things.
