JT of City Girls is continuing a run of solo bangers. Tonight (February 2), she shared her new single, “Sideways.”
The track features JT establishing herself as a solo act, while still repping the Miami rap duo. Like on her previously released track, “No Bars,” JT maintains her energy, while riding the beat with energy.
“B*tch, I ain’t friendly, I don’t f*ck with y’all b*tches / Tryna take who? It ain’t enough of y’all b*tches / Hoes so phony got me lookin’ at ’em sideways / It’ll never be the same, motherf*cker, old days,” she raps on the song’s chorus.
Over the years, JT has been known to add a punch to City Girls tracks. Her chemistry with her bandmate Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee is undeniable. But with “Sideways,” as well as upcoming solo songs, JT aims to make herself a rapper of her own accord. Perhaps a solo album or mixtape may soon be on the way, as she lays the groundwork for longevity.
“‘Sideways’ is a song not a verse,” said JT in a statement, “and in 2024 I want to go from ‘JT has good verses!’ to ‘JT make good songs!’”
NBA YoungBoy is isolated from the world on house arrest and has been for years now. Still, his influence in hip-hop and beyond remains undeniable. He continues to put out new music at a rate that few others can keep up with. Before January came to a close he responded to Charlamagne Tha God dissing him on The Breakfast Club that same month with a song called “Act A Donkey,” and all through 2023 the Louisiana native kept his listeners entertained with albums like I Rest My Case, Don’t Try This At Home, Richest Opp, and Decided 2.
Despite his numeric success, it’s obvious that YB’s mental health has been suffering lately. The controversial rapper’s attorneys have been fighting to grant him more leniency while he’s stuck at home in Utah, though his freedom is still a far cry from what the average entertainment industry icon has in their life. On Thursday (February 1), the father of 11 sparked concern with a new social media post showing him lying on the floor with a plethora of drugs around him. A white styrofoam cup of Lean sits by his head, and a bottle of open pills is spilled beside him. “And that’s why I don’t pick up my phone when it ring,” the multi-talent wrote in his caption.
As the comment section on that floods with people looking out for YoungBoy’s safety, another post on his IG feed suggests that his next album could be coming this spring. “4 TSUKI 19-NICHI” it reads, leaving us to speculate that he could be dropping on April 19th.
Who do you hope to hear NBA YoungBoy collaborating with the next time he drops an album? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.
Donald Glover has revealed that Brad Pitt wasn’t exactly forthcoming when Glober reached for advice about reprising Pitt’s role in the upcoming TV reboot of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Glover told The Tonight Show that the actor “Brad Pitted” his way through their interaction – being very charming but ultimately not saying a whole lot. Pitt also reportedly told Glover he’d “do a great job” but didn’t give anything more concrete than that.
In the interview, Maya Erskine also revealed that the studio was very keen to “sex it up” throughout the promotion of the show. However, Erskine revealed that this was something she struggled with because her “inner sexual animal” is a “worm”. It’s also an interesting direction, given how the show’s early marketing material portrays the couple as very business-minded and sexless.
The project, an eight-episode TV show on Prime, changes a lot from the 2005 film it is inspired by. Pitt and Angelina Jolie played a wealthy couple whose failing marriage is revitalized by the fact that they learn they are assassins for rival companies tasked with killing each other. Instead, Glover and Erskine are spies who are married as part of their long-term cover.
Glover and Erskine are set to play the titular married couple. Glover, also known by his musical handle Childish Gambino, has built himself a stellar acting resume. He is best known for Atlanta, which he also created. However, he has plenty of comedic experience as well with the likes of Community. He also recently appeared as a live-action cameo in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse while also reprising his Adventure Time voice role for Fionna & Cake. Meanwhile, Erskine has developed a reputation for her deadpan humor in roles like PEN15, Insecure, and Plus One. Filling out the cast is a huge collection of Hollywood heavyweights. Parker Posey, Paul Dano, Alexander Skarsgård, and Sarah Paulson are all set to appear in the show. However, their roles aren’t all that clear. The show debuts on February 2.
Kanye West has designed quite a few unique sneakers over the years. Overall, a lot of these shoes have had some bizarre designs. Although he has been clowned on numerous occasions, he has never given up on designing. At the end of the day, he enjoys his creative endeavors, regardless of the response. Furthermore, there are plenty of people out there willing to buy whatever he drops. It is the Kanye effect in full swing, and despite all of his ramblings over the past year, he still has that strong support.
His latest shoe, the YZY POD, only came in three sizes. This sock-like shoe was made so that 1 size could encompass multiple regular sizes at once. For example, Size 3 is supposed to be for those who wear a traditional size 10 to 13. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like that is working out as intended. In a new Instagram post, it was revealed that if you are a size 10, the Size 3 YZY POD will look absolutely ridiculous on you. Subsequently, an alleged former employee of Ye, named Brittany Pierone, reposted the image.
Unfortunately for Pierone, Ye found the post from his former employee and decided to lash out. In a screenshot below, you can see how Ye went off on the woman. He even accused her of taking some money from Adidas. Of course, there is no proof for such a thing, although the artist does seem a bit paranoid. He even said “you worse than the TMZ lady” which is a reference to his run-in with the paparazzi earlier this week. Needless to say, Kanye will defend his art, no matter what.
Ye Sounds Off
Let us know your thoughts on the YZY PODS, in the comments section below. Watch out though. This may lead to Ye in your DMs. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will be sure to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists.
Danny Masterson has been transferred to Corcoran State Prison, the infamous California prison that has held the likes of Charles Manson and Sirhan Sirhan. Masterson began his 30-year sentence for two counts of forcible rape at the medium-security Nort Kern State Prison before his recent transfer to the maximum-security facility at Corcoran State. The reason for Masterson’s transfer is unknown.
However, as mentioned, Corcoran State has developed a reputation for housing some of the state’s most infamous prisoners. Manson is best known as a cult leader and mass murderer who terrorized the state in the 1960s. His death sentence was commuted to life prison following the abolition of the death penalty in California. He died at Corcoran State in 2017. Meanwhile, Sirhan Sirhan, who was transferred out of Corcoran State in 2013, was the man who assassinated Robert F Kennedy. Kennedy was the brother of JFK and a Presidential favorite in his own right.
Ashton & Mila Defend Letters Supporting Danny Masterson
The conviction of Danny Masterson sparked a major debate about the role that the rich and famous play in the accountability of their friends. For example, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, two of Masterson’s That 70s Show co-stars, defend their decision to write letters of clemency in Masterson’s name. “We support victims, we have done this historically,” Kunis said in a video released by the couple. This is a reference to the work the couple has done in regard to sex trafficking. Furthermore, Kutcher added that they had written the letters on behalf of Masterson’s family. They did this so that they could speak to “the character of the person we knew for 25 years.”
After their video apology was released, one of Masterson’s victims produced a response through journalist Yashar Ali. ‘This video was incredibly insulting and hurtful. My hope is that they learn radical accountability and the importance of self-education to learn when to keep their privilege in check—especially Ashton, who claims to work with victims of sex crimes. And as to Mila, I can only think of “Times Up”,” “Jen B.” said in her statement.
Lil Dicky is unsure what the future holds for Dave, the hit comedy series partially based on his own life. Speaking in a recent interview, Lil Dicky revealed that working on music as a result of last year’s writer’s strike had made him “fall in love with making music again”. As a result, making music has become the focus of his creative endeavors for the time being. Furthermore, Lil Dicky specifically went out of his way to state that he wanted his music to reach the same level of same and exposure that he had found with Dave.
The third season of Dave, which aired in early 2023, currently holds a 100% critics rating and 87% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The show also ended on something of a cliffhanger, with Dave having ended his first tour as the headliner while also finding new love in his life. However, beyond Lil Dicky, it remains to be seen if FX and Hulu will renew the show for a fourth season amid the chaos and fallout of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes last year.
While ESPN host Stephen A. Smith was not one of the third season’s myriad cameos, it’s an idea that Lil Dicky is not opposed to. Lil Dicky joined First Take to discuss Game 6 of the 2023 Eastern Conference Semis between the Sixers and Celtics. However, he also had the opportunity to showcase his creativity for story beats. That came when Molly Qerim asked him how he would incorporate Stephen A. Smith into the show.
“Off the top of my head, I don’t know… I’m thinking about the Sixers and the Celtics, I’m just imagining: What if I got into a little bit of a gambling situation with the wrong bookie, and I need the Sixers to win or my life could end? And I find myself knocking on Stephen A.’s door at like 3 a.m. and telling him that tomorrow on First Take, he’s gotta do something that really eviscerates Jayson Tatum, to the point where it’s a distraction for the team. Something like… kind of a modern day Celtic Pride.” Smith then added that Dave could kidnap Tatum before Smith saved the day. The idea is hilarious, blending shades of Uncut Gems with Dave’s tendency to make a situation worse when trying to fix it.
