Mick Jenkins Tacks On Two New Tracks And Instrumentals To His Terrific 2023 Record “The Patience”

Mick Jenkins, an excellent wordsmith hailing from Huntsville, Alabama, is undoubtedly one of the most clever lyricists we have going in modern hip-hop. Also being raised in the south side of Chicago gave him the blue-collar grittiness that he displayed on his critically acclaimed album The Patience. Released on August 18, 2023, it featured a trim 11-song tracklist with standout features and performances. Now, it has just received a deluxe edition.

Let us just say that it somehow improves it. The new additions include “2011” and “Perm.” On top of that, Mick adds instrumentals for the original release. Furthermore, he adds some color to the cover art, which could be a nod to the waviest song about “color theory” on “Roy G. Biv.” If you listen on Apple Music and use Lossless audio, the deluxe sounds a bit louder compared to the previous edition.

Listen To The Patience (Deluxe Edition) By Mick Jenkins

However, tracks like “Pasta,” “Show & Tell” with Freddie Gibbs, “Farm to Table” featuring VIC MENSA, and more still sound great. Everything still sounds lush and the penmanship is still there on the new tracks. “2011” is another storytelling cut that sees Mick recalling where he was in his life and with his music career. “Perm” is the bigger banger of the two with great bars like these. “You seeing ballerinas if n****s is spinning the block / We stay on our toes, two hands on the clock / No bustdowns, that’s the neighborhood watch / Play Sasquatch, won’t see me in the spot.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new deluxe version of The Patience by Mick Jenkins? Is this the best body of work he has ever put out, why or why not? Out of the two deluxe tracks, which one is better? Does Mick deserve more credit as an MC, or is he properly rated? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Erica Dixon Wishes Lil Scrappy A Happy Birthday With Heartfelt Post

It’s no secret that Erica Dixon and Lil Scrappy’s relationship is pretty complicated, but it looks like they’re in a good place for the time being. Dixon recently hopped on Instagram to share a heartfelt message for the father of her daughter, citing the long road they’ve taken to get to where they are.

“Happy birthday @reallilscrappy!!!,” Dixon captioned a photo of Scrappy. “Never would have thought we’d be here, but God! S/o to those long difficult conversations and growth. May everything you’ve dreamt of come to pass. Keep putting in that work and let’s get it! Y’all go show my Babydaddy some love.”

Erica Dixon Tells Lil Scrappy To “Keep Putting In That Work”

Of course, Dixon’s post has also managed to reignite speculation that she and Scrappy are more than just co-parents. In recent months, rumors that the former pair are an item once again have run rampant. Pregnancy rumblings were even thrown into the mix late last year after they were spotted in Vegas together, though the L&HH star vehemently denied them. It wasn’t the first time fans saw the duo team up for a trip, however. They also visited Hawaii together for Dixon’s birthday last October, which again resulted in reunion rumors.

According to Dixon, however, they’re just focused on being the best co-parents they can be for the sake of their daughter. “Me and Emani’s father are cool,” Dixon told fans on IG Live post-Hawaii trip. “We are family, we’re in a good space. Some of y’all be some weirdos. Like, I’m big on accountability moving forward. I ultimately have to have a relationship and deal with him forever because we do share a child.” What do you think of Erica Dixon showing love to Lil Scrappy for his birthday? Happy 53rd Birthday To The Roots’ Questlove!

Questlove

Happy Born day to Ahmir Khalib Thompson better known as ?uestlove a.k.a Questlove! Born in 1971, he turns a half-century today. The OG is originally known as the drummer for the legendary Hip Hop band The Roots, but he has many roles.

On February 17, 2014, he became a part of the in-house band for The Tonight Show, and with The Roots, he’s played the same role during the 969-episodes of  Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

Let’s not forget about the many artists he has produced such as Jay Z, Common, D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, the late Amy Winehouse, John Legend, and old school R&B legend Al Green. The list goes on with all the production teams he has been a part of, including Hip Hop pioneers like The Soulsonics and The Grand Wizards.

The influence of this multi-faceted musician has reached far beyond most in his life thus far, and he’s nearly only halfway thru. Happy Birthday Questlove and many more to come!

21 Savage “American Dream” First Week Sales Are Here

21 Savage is back like he never left on his new album american dream, at least when it comes to his newest solo effort’s first-week sales. Moreover, new reports online indicate that the project sold 131K album-equivalent units in its first week, landing it at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. As such, fans may notice that these are the exact same sales numbers that his previous solo studio LP, i am > i was, sold in its first week over five years ago. Perhaps listeners and the media will portray this as a disappointment, but it’s more indicative of 21’s consistency quality and exposure-wise since 2018.

Furthermore, it’s nonetheless great to see that this album connected with a lot of people, both casual fans and die-hards alike. If you’ve been on hip-hop Twitter at all for the past couple of years, you know that some listeners have strong 21 Savage fatigue. This is because of his prolific features, collaborative full-lengths, and a firm adherence to the style that he’s most known for. But the “née-nah” MC still proves on this album that he can evolve, and we’ll see whether any track from it becomes a particular hit.

21 Savage’s american dream Sells 131K First Week

On that last point, it feels like american dream is much more of an album experience, similar to i am > i was. At least that tracklist had the massive hit “a lot,” whereas this new album doesn’t have that stellar standout commercially and critically… yet. After all, cuts like “redrum” could easily gain more steam as the year draws on, as the current era’s focus on virality means that release dates don’t matter when determining the hottest tracks today. Either way, 21 Savage should be very proud of what he and his team accomplished here, and these numbers show the fruits of their labor.

Meanwhile, with the Slaughter Gang boss’ biopic on the horizon (if it wasn’t just a rollout facade), this is another factor that could extend american dream‘s shelf life. No matter what you think about these numbers, one thing is for sure. It’s great to have hip-hop succeeding and impressing early in 2024, and setting up that momentum for the rest of the year. On that note, log back into HNHH for the latest news and updates on 21 Savage.

Chloe Bailey Photo Dump Has Singer “Sweet As Honey”

Chloe Bailey has dropped a radiant new photo dump, posting up in a gorgeous cinnamon jumpsuit and large white coat. The photos were taken outside Bailey’s dressing room as she prepared to appear on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. Fans were blown away by the new pictures. “It’s giving Mary J. Blige,” one adoring fan declared. Others compared Bailey to Beyonce’s iconic Living Dangerously photos.

Of course, less than a week ago, Bailey was flashing a lot more skin. She posted up on Instagram in a floral-print bikini as she declared that “life is good” while beachside in an unknown location. However, the photos drew a lot of comparison to her sister Halle who recently gave birth to her first child with long-time partner DDG. But fans were also quick to thirst over the singer and actress for her swimwear look.

A post shared by Chlöe (@chloebailey)

Of course, Bailey is no stranger to iconic looks. Bailey stole hearts like a master thief as she dropped her Catwoman look for Halloween. A tight leather corset (with some bat-like embellishments) and thigh-high leather boots showed off Bailey’s bountiful curves and embraced everything we love about Selina Kyle. In the comments of Bailey’s Instagram post showing off the outfit, many people likened her to the somewhat infamous portrayal of the character by Halle Berry in 2004’s Catwoman. However, the white stitching on Bailey’s legs is also very reminiscent of Michelle Pfeiffer’s take on the character in the 90s.

However, as much as the costume has people dying to see Bailey adopt the feline mantle on screen, that might remain a dream for now. Zoe Kravitz currently holds the title of Catwoman, having brought the role to life in The Batman. Furthermore, Kravtiz is expected to reprise the role in the sequel that is in the works by director Matt Reeves. Despite this, maybe the internet can get its wish. Bailey could take on the role in James Gunn’s new DC universe.

Sexyy Red And Neco Heartaway Drop New Visuals For Collab “City Girl”

Almost every artist that has become popular had to work extremely hard to get to superstardom. That was the case for Missouri rapper and eccentric personality, Sexyy Red. We know her now for her raunchy, NSFW bangers that have taken over for better or for worse. She is highly controversial but, she rakes in the streams and she has a passionate fan base. Sexyy is now selling out shows across the country, but how did she get to that point? Well, one of her earliest hits she was a part of came back in 2021.

She was a small blip on some people’s radar back then if they had a close ear to the streets. Red, along with R&B artist Neco Heartaway, dropped a gem called “City Girl” on September 7. These are nowhere near the kind of tracks that she is used to being on nowadays. It might be better for it because she sounded very out of place on it.

Listen To “City Girl” By Neco Heartaway And Sexyy Red

Neco certainly gave the track his all with a great hook and fantastic vocal work. On the other hand, her voice sounds like it was recorded at the bottom of a well. Additionally, it appears to be too low in the mix. It has similar vibes to when NAV had a weird issue on “YOSEMITE” initially. But, this was just the start for Sexyy Red, so there is not too much you could say about it. We wanted to shed light on this collab track because they just released the visuals. Go check it out for yourself with the link above.

What are your thoughts on this song, “City Girl,” by Neco Heartaway and Sexyy Red? Does she sound better now or when she was coming up? Were you tapped in when the track initially dropped? What are your favorite Neco tracks and why? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Tara VanDerveer Ties All-Time NCAA Coaching Wins Record

Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer has tied the all-time NCAA coaching wins mark set by legendary Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski. Win No. 1202 for VanDerveer came against Oregon, with the No. 8 Cardinal prevailing 88-63 despite losing star senior Cameron Brink in the first quarter. VanDerveer, who took over at Stanford in 1985, can make history and take the record for herself on January 21 against Oregon State. VanDerveer began her coaching career in 1978 at Idaho. She earned her 100th win in 1983 while coaching Ohio State. She hit 1000 wins in 2017.

“It’s a tribute to the great teams I’ve had, the great places I’ve worked. It’s been really exciting because so many people have reached out to me. It’s great for women’s basketball that there’s a lot of attention. I work at a great place, and I have so much support,” VanDerveer told the Pac-12 Network after the win. “Sometimes I can take it for granted because I see her every day. But she’s really been someone who’s changed the game. So it’s an honor to play for her. Every day, I learn something from her,” junior Kiki Iriafen told ESPN.

Caitlin Clark Continues To Make History

The 2023/24 season is shaping up to be a truly historic season for women’s collegiate basketball. Caitlin Clark, a star senior at Iowa, is barreling towards the all-time career scoring record for women’s basketball. At the time of writing, Clark sits in fourth in all-time scoring, with 3306 points. That puts her 222 points away from breaking the record set by Washington’s Kelsey Plum in 2017. Currently averaging 31 points a game, Clark will beat the record during a road game at Indiana on February 22.

However, will Clark declare for the WNBA, where she is the presumptive No. 1 draft pick? That remains to be seen. “I’m going to know when I need to know. I think it’s very similar to my college decision. It’s like I’m in the recruiting process again. It’s really not something I think about every day or let weigh on me. I’m focused on helping this team be the best they can be. The biggest thing is I’m just going to trust my gut. I’m not going to do a lot of research on what’s better. I’m going to trust my gut and go with that,” Clark before the season.
