Nas Says He’s Not Inspired By Rappers His Own Age Anymore

One of the greatest rappers ever still deserves the title, even over twenty years after his career shook the world. Nas recently opened up about how rappers his age don’t inspire him anymore when it comes to new material. Moreover, he spoke candidly on the subject while on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday (February 22). When Colbert asked him which artists keep the New York MC competitive, he had a very interesting answer. Since his generation of rappers don’t release music often, he expressed that he has to match the newer generation instead.

“I’m really trying to figure out what my next move is, and I feel like a lot of Hip Hop artists my age are not putting out a lot of material, so I can’t look to them as reference,” Nas remarked. “They kind of slowed down — for whatever reasons, I understand it’s a tough thing — but I got bit by the bug, man.” Of course, that bug resulted in four excellent collaborative albums with Hit-Boy (with a fifth on the way). In fact, the albums made such a mark that they nabbed the Mass Appeal mogul with his first-ever Grammy.

Nas Speaks On Rappers His Age

“I collaborated with this cat Hit-Boy who’s like the best, and he’s produced all of those albums — King’s Disease 1, 2, 3. [Don’t forget Magic!] We’re kind of inspiring ourselves at this point. It’s really interesting.” When asked what he sees in the producer that he doesn’t see in himself, he responded cheekily with “Youth.” Still, their relationship is rooted more deeply than that generational divide, as Nas described them as a “perfect match.”

While their latest effort King’s Disease III didn’t have any features, Nas said that wasn’t the plan in an Apple Music interview. “Honestly, it was once we got deeper into the album because I definitely was thinking and conceptualizing on who could be a part of it,” he expressed. “I even pulled up some features that I had in my computer from different artists and we tried stuff, but nothing really connected on a level of what we was doing solo. After posting a seemingly innocent photo on Instagram, Kylie Jenner has been flamed with accusations claiming that she’s making fun of Selena Gomez. The ordeal started after the former Disney Channel star posted a Tik Tok showing off her eyebrows. Gomez was simply trying to mimic Bella Hadid’s iconic catwalk look, but instead noted, “I laminated my brows too much.” Following the post, Jenner posted a story on Instagram with her eyebrows at the center of attention. The makeup mogul placed the text “this was an accident???” on top of one of her brows.

Soon after her initial story post, Jenner shared a FaceTime screenshot of her and Hailey Beiber, both holding the camera up to their browlines. Bieber, the current wife of Gomez’s ex-boyfriend, has previously been reported to feud with the 30-year-old singer. Quickly, fans jumped to the conclusion that Jenner was throwing shade at Gomez, the DailyMail says. One Tik Tok user wrote “Kylie and Hailey are giving high school vibes,” while another blatantly called the A-listers “mean girls.”

But, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star denies the accusations, calling it “silly.” She took to Tik Tok to comment under @devotedly.yours video, “this is reaching. no shade towards selena ever and i didn’t see her eyebrow posts!” Gomez also responded to the comment, further emphasizing how the two had respect for each other. “Agreed,” she wrote, “it’s all unnecessary. I’m a fan of Kylie!”

Just last year, Gomez was called out for teasing Bieber. After the 26-year-old model posted a video promoting her skincare line, Gomez seemingly posted a video mocking her. Having received intense backlash for the shady post, she deleted comments. Her last statement was, “this is why I believe in taking care of your mental health. Guys no idea what I did but I really am sorry. Zero bad intention. Deleting soon.” Bieber even spoke out about the ordeal, telling haters to “be miserable somewhere else.” Following the incident, the duo allegedly cleared the air about their relationship. Aaron Rodgers Officially Emerges From The Darkness

Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game of football. However, he is certainly someone who has a bit of an interesting way of going about things. Overall, his “free thinking” ways have given him a similar reputation to that of Kyrie Irving. Despite this, Rodgers has remained true to himself and is strong in his convictions. He is always speaking his mind, and he does not hold back when something rubs him the wrong way. For better or for worse, he is 100 percent himself at all times.

Recently, Rodgers was laughed at by the NFL community for his revelation that he would be going to a darkness retreat. Essentially, he would be spending a few days in the dark and during this time, he would contemplate his NFL future. Consequently, fans had a whole bunch of questions about this “darkness retreat.” After all, the entire concept of it seems pretty ridiculous. However, Rodgers was ready to take it seriously, and now, the experience seems to be over.

According to reporter Xuan Thai of ESPN, Rodgers had been in the darkness retreat for the past few days. Although, it has since been revealed by the owner of the property that he has left. Interestingly enough, this darkness facility is quite the place. As Adam Schefter laid out in the tweet above, there was 300 square feet of space where Rodgers was staying. Moreover, Rodgers was left with no light sources or technology of any kind. Thankfully, he did have a bed and a bathroom, with a mat for meditation purposes, for good measure. For now, though, we do not know how Rodgers felt about the experience. We’re sure he will tell Pat McAfee, soon enough.

This should lead to some interesting results for Rodgers and the Packers. The team is prepared to trade him anywhere should he decide he wants to leave. Nicki Minaj Announces New Single “Red Rudy Da Sleeze”

It’s been five years since the release of Nicki Minaj’s last studio album, Queen. Though Nicki earned the hiatus, which allowed her to welcome her first son, fans have been on the edge of their seats for new single. The rapper came through with a handful of singles in 2022, like “Do We Have A Problem” ft. Lil Baby and “We Go Up” ft Fivio Foreign. Additionally, she dished out several collaborations including FIFA World Cup’s Fan Festival anthem “Tukoh Taka” alongside Maluma and Myriam Fares. And throughout the releases, fans continued to anticipate the announcement of her next studio album.

We haven’t received many updates recently but there have been a few promising signs that Nicki will be making a comeback soon. During her recent visit to Trinidad for Carnival, she announced that Queen Radio would return in the near future. Typically, Nicki uses the platform to update her fans, talk sh*t, and address everything that’s on her mind. She confirmed that her radio show would be back on March 3rd but that’s not all she has in store.

On Wednesday night, Nicki hit the ‘Gram where she shared a new snippet of music while confirming that a new single is on the way. While surrounded by a group of women, Nicki previewed her new single, seemingly titled, “Red Rudy Da Sleeze.” The song, which samples Lumidee’s “Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh),” is expected to drop on March 3rd, the same day as Queen Radio returns to the air. It seems like Nicki could be aiming to release her forthcoming album this summer.

The announcement of the new single comes shortly after Nicki delivered her first verse of the year. On Friday, Nicki unveiled her remix of Machel Montana and Destra’s “Shake The Place,” which she later performed in Trinidad. Just before that, Epic Records A&R Vice President Fly Ty hinted that he and Nicki Minaj were working on something big. Though it’s unclear what they have in store, it seems as though “Red Rudy Da Sleaze” will kick off the campaign for the next chapter in Nicki’s career.

Logic Used His ‘Kimmel’ Performance As A Gender Reveal Party For His And His Wife’s Upcoming Baby

Logic is set to drop College Park, his debut independent album since departing Def Jam with Vinyl Days as his final label act last summer. The multi-platinum rapper and best-selling author conjured very college vibes on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night, February 22, the same day Logic released his “Lightsabers” single.

In the “Lightsabers” video, Logic traverses fantastical and vast landscapes. But on Kimmel, he only needed Juicy J, C Dot Castro, and the all-too-familiar confined nature of a college dorm.

The performance began with Juicy J proclaiming, “Logic! Juicy J! College Park! We gon’ take it back to 2011. Y’all know what time it is.” As Juicy exited the screen, viewers were welcomed into a staged college dorm where Logic sat next to C Dot Castro, who handled the keys. “It’s a good day, good day, good day,” Logic rapped. “Had a lot of bad ones this year / But today’s a good day, good day, good day, good day, good day.”

The song is equally reflective and projective, with Logic reminiscing on past times when he felt down but didn’t stay down and spreading a message of perseverance: “I hope you don’t give up your dreams for a 9-to-5 / Don’t get me wrong, it’ll pay your bills / But if you don’t love your job, tell me, what’s the point? / Don’t disappoint / Gotta make it a point to do it a better way.”

Logic emerged from his makeshift set to dap up the Kimmel audience and lead into slowed-down, jazzier verse backed by a live band from a traditional stage. It wouldn’t have been a complete performance without Logic tossing dollar bills into the crowd during Castro’s verse. But the true finale was Logic saying, “My wife’s pregnant again. It’s a little boy.”

Logic and his wife, Brittney Noell, announced they were expecting their second child in early January, but Logic’s Kimmel appearance served as a gender reveal party.

Nicki Minaj is having a good year. Last month, she kicked off 2023 by becoming the female rapper with the most consecutive years charting a single on the Hot 100. She then broke another milestone by becoming the first female rapper to surpass 28 billion streams on Spotify.

Now, it looks like she’s gearing up to share new music. She shared a video on Instagram that previews a new song. It’s playing in a club and Minaj — with her half-red, half-pink hair and thick shades — mouths along to the flow while people around her dance and twerk. The caption reads: “#RedRubyDaSleeze 3/3.”

Minaj has been otherwise quiet on social media, aside from congratulating Rihanna. “A lil pretty boy already,” she commented on Rihanna’s post. “Congratulations on the new bundle of, joy, Queen. Bodied the Super Bowl.”

In November, the “Super Bass” singer teamed up with Maluma and Myriam Fares for “Tukoh Taka,” the official FIFA World Cup anthem. “I am so happy to be part of this FIFA World Cup anthem!” Maluma said in a statement. “I always dreamt of an opportunity like this. Representing Latin music on this global track alongside amazing artists that sing in English and Arabic, takes our culture to another level.”

North West interrupted Kim Kardashian’s IG Story video with an important update: she plotted with Lala Anthony via FaceTime to bring Ice Spice to the Kardashian home. Overall, it was a pretty wholesome exchange, as Kim was with her son Psalm and Lala’s one of her best friends. Moreover, the reality TV superstar enjoyed a brief moment of cuteness with Psalm before North threw Anthony in her face. SZA Claps Back At Critics Following Leaked Tour Video

TDE songstress SZA is still on a high following the success of her record-breaking album, SOS. The No. 1 selling project was immediately followed by a tour, which the singer began just two nights ago. Fans have already started to share concert clips, one of which made rounds for SZA’s dancing. The brief video, which was made viral by The Neighborhood Talk, has led to comments about SZA’s dancing and weight, among other things.

The “I Hate U” singer was performing the single when she broke out into some questionable choreography. As a result, supporters are weighing in heavily, calling the performance extremely awkward. “She ain’t used to moving all that weight on her body,” one Instagram user suggests. Another wrote: “I love SZA so don’t drag me y’all. But this is what happens when fans complain about artist[s] not dancing. If they not dancing it’s probably because they can’t.” Shortly after, SZA appeared to respond to the backlash with one tweet. “For every critic there’s hundreds of THOUSANDS rooting for u and that’s what tour reminds me of . Gilbert Arenas is someone who is brutally honest whenever he speaks. Even if you disagree with his opinions, it is clear that he has a lot of passion for the game of basketball. Overall, he does not care who he may offend whenever he speaks. Moreover, he has been able to build a large platform with his podcast. On this shoe, Arenas is able to give as many hot takes as possible in an unregulated fashion. This is certainly a style that fits his personality, and it has led to some great banter over the years.

As it pertains to basketball discourse, much has been made about the previous generations and how they compare to today. Every single day it feels like some old head is calling the new generation of NBA stars “soft.” Furthermore, players like LeBron get called out for “not being able to survive in the 80s.” Of course, these are ridiculous notions as we never got to see LeBron in the 80s. At the end of the day, this discourse is simply not productive, and Arenas is a bit sick of it.

In his eyes, the 80s cannot hold a candle to the basketball that was played in the 90s and eventually the 2000s. He even took a swipe at Bill Laimbeer, noting that he would never be able to defend the young guys playing now. “80s cannot compete with 90s, 2000s, and now. It is a pointless argument. Bill Laimbeer cannot play basketball today, his defense does not work today,” Arenas professed.

Master P Responds To Jess Hilarious & Fat Trel Accusations

Master P recently addressed accusations of mismanagement, withheld money, and mistreatment from collaborators Jess Hilarious and Fat Trel. Moreover, both have issues with the No Limit boss thanks to false movie promises, lack of artistic support, and unfulfilled payments. While P didn’t address every little detail, he responded to these claims in a lengthy Instagram post and video. “I’ve only given people opportunities,” he began. “Ive never forced an artist to make music or go into the studio. It’s sad that it’s always us against us. But I’m going to keep educating the ones that want to learn and grow. And to everyone I’ve crossed paths with, I wish them success.

“We were ahead of our time,” he continued. “This was 2013 LV Mob, @alleyboy_don a Real G though and I Respect him to the end. We didn’t Pop back then because we didn’t have a Hit Record, we only had Street Records that didn’t cross over. I invested in this project, lost on it and I still haven’t been able to make money from streaming. That’s one of the reasons why I got out of the music industry and into the product game.
